lol! read through that nonsense and I think it’s garbled? but idk how else to say what I’m trying to say besides….
Max’s struggle with his queer identity is very much because he inverted the general sexual orientation definition system. Aka if love (romantics) and sex (sexuality) are each a hand- and the heteronormative labeling system views (love 🤝 sex -> sexual orientation) and the general separation of sexuality and romanticism takes (sex -> sexual orientation) and (love -> romantic orientation) then Max in his limited understanding and aroace identity took (love -> sexual orientation) and (sex -> horniness)
#roswell new mexico#max evans#ignore me#I think this is somehow better then the hrs of work for the actual meta#*sighs*

Our only defense against surveillance capitalism in the short run is to avoid being surveilled. Quitting platforms which suck personal information out of you is essential to protect privacy. Avoiding cookies and trackers is another way to protect yourself.
I’m a compulsive history clearer. My history is cleared automatically when the browser (either Firefox or Safari) is closed. Sometimes I’ll clear much of it selectively in mid session. I NEVER use Chrome which is just a vacuum cleaner of personal info for Google. And speaking of Google, it’s rare for me ever to be signed in there.
To control your personal information it’s necessary to be proactive and to endure a little inconvenience. I see this inconvenience as minor and beneficial – in the same way that conscientious recycling is in the long run.
But ultimately, legislation is needed to protect internet users. There are plenty of precedents. We already have laws to protect safety, to ensure pure food and pharmaceuticals, and to regulate financial transactions. It’s long overdue for online privacy to get the same treatment.
There need to be limits on personal information which online commercial entities can collect, store, and share.

TMA ENTITIES X DBD KILLERS
Strap in cos this is gonna be a long one. I'm not going to do all 38 at once because that would actually kill me. So I'm gonna do 10 at a time, covering the original killers. I might cover the licences but then it becomes an argument on how much of their OG representations to include.
The vibe is what Entity I think the killers would serve. Not who they'd be victims of. I.E. I think The Legion would be targeted by The Loney but wouldn't serve it. This is the killers as avatars basically.
With all that out of the way, let's get into these justifications, as always if this has been done before or you have your own interpretations please let me know!
The Trapper
The Slaughter
Starting off hard. In DBD lore Evan doesn't want to serve THE Entity so you could argue none, however I think the most suitable TMA Entity would be The Slaughter.
His kills aren't personal, he commited mass murder, before that he didn't hunt individuals, just punished those who stepped out of line. Even then it wasn't to cause death or for cruelty, he killed as a means to an end. On the other side, he still sees people as people, he didn't view them as flesh to abuse and use.
Because of these action pre-realm, and his impersonal use of beartraps, which maim at random, I think he has similar vibes to the Entity of war and apathetic harm. I could see the argument for The Buried because of how he killed the miners, however I have a much better fit for Too Close, I Cannot Breath.
The Wraith
The Buried
Poor Philip. He also didn't want to be a killer, he spent his life buried. He escaped a war-torn country, he worked a dead-end job, and he literally spent years crushing people to death, with his first and final intentional kill being via crushing aswell.
I don't think he fears The Buried, if he fears an Entity it would be The Slaughter because of his childhood, I think him learning about his accidental murders but then immediately lashing out and inflicting that on his guilty boss shows he embraces The Buried. I think Choke is the best fit for Philip.
The Hillbilly
The Flesh
Also another tragic character. Max was defined by his flesh. I believe by the time he's taken into the realm he's truly internalised The Flesh. We see this in his killing style and home map. His weapon is a chainsaw he uses to butcher and rend, and his realm is a farm covered in slaughtered animals and an abattoir. Hillbilly isn't scared of The Flesh anymore, now he wishes to make everything into meat.
The Nurse
The Spiral
I don't think I can keep calling all the killers tragic ...however. Sally also went through the wringer, she lost her husband, worked in an asylum until the things she saw broke her mind and she strangled 54 people. They find her rocking back and forth sobbing, after completely losing her mind.
However she's not just heavily marked by The Spiral, but she also perpetuates it. It's Meta-Lore that Nurse isn't a normal killer, even compared to other teleporting killers she's on another level, she breaks the game formula, you can't loop normally, she truely is not what she seems. Also I can definitely see a Helen Skin for her, add a door opening animation for her blinks and *chef's kiss*
The Hag
The Desolation
I swear they'll start being less sympathetic soon. Lisa honestly just got screwed over. Was she messing with magic beyond our mortal comprehension? Yes. However that is not a crime, just very Jonathan Simms-coded. Anyways Lisa wouldn't serve The Desolation, however The Hag? The Hag was born after Lisa was tortured, mutilated and starved, and when she got her freedom she chose revenge, she called down calamity on the cannibals and reveled in their deaths.
In the trials The Hag doesn't prioritise quick deaths, she slows down gens, she forces you to hunt down hexes. She wishes to prolong the suffering of the survivors that the Entity makes look like her kidnappers. She has become an Avatar of retribution and cruelty.
The Doctor
The Spiral
See I told you they wouldn't all be tragic characters. Herman is fucking Evil. He didn't have a tragic childhood, he was a child prodigy, he was published as a teen, got into Yale, was set up for being a normal person. However, the CIA gave him unchecked access to prisoners and suddenly the Geneva convention was his personal checklist.
Whilst torture is very Desolation-core, he "excelled" in psychological torture, to the point where even CIA torturers thought he was going to far. DO YOU KNOW HOW BAD YOU HAVE TO BE TO HAVE THE CIA GOING "yo chill". To The Spiral with you Herman, you Doctor David dupe.
The Huntress
The Hunt
I lied the sympathetic characters are back. Good news though, we're not staying here long. She's The Hunt. Duh. She does protect her isolation so you could argue Lonely, however, she's not really got the social development to know what being lonely is, in her mind she's just protecting her territory. The Hunt for you Anna, go forth and prosper.
The Clown
The End
Oh the creepy ones are back. Kenneth/Jeffery is also really hard to place. Because he does a lot of weird shit. He followed the psychopath playbook, killing birds, small animals, then people. He collects FINGERS which he LICKS. This is going to be controversial but I'm gonna put him in The End, I don't like that he shares the same Entity as my baby Oliver, however I think it fits the most.
He doesn't kill for cruelty (Desolation) or the chase (Hunt), but it is personal (not Slaughter), he kills because he just really enjoys killing. He likes killing and ending lives so much he went from track-star to Clown, he collects fingers as mementos. Truely he has a passion for graphic murder. Out of these 10, Clown is the one who enjoys killing the most.
The Spirit
The Web
I'm still salty that Rin is a killer. Glad she's not a survivor though, but I just want my girl to have peace. Rin noticed her family's decline from her mother's health and her school bills, but she didn't confront her father directly. Instead she gets a job to help support the family, she also looks after her mother. Now, this might just be me seeing her as Martin-coded. However, her more subtle approaches in trying to alleviate her fathers burdens seems very Web.
These small changes didn't save Rin though. Her father snaps, he kills her mother and brutalises Rin. In her last moments she begs for control, to not let this be how her story ends, for the power to avenge her mother and kill her father. And something answers. Truely, if Rin was in the TMA world I think it would've been the Mother of Puppets that answered her.
Her gameplay let's her psych out survivors, tracing scratch marks, and ensnaring her chosen prey with Rancor. Lastly her family tree (or family Web if you will) is part of the reason she's in the realm, her convoluted history linking her to The Oni.
The Legion
The Hunt
I tried to limit repeats, however just as Nurse and doctor are so obviously The Spiral. The Legion are just as Hunt as Huntress. Whilst Anna is more akin to Daisy, a lone wolf, the 4 members of Legion are exactly like the Hunt domain of MAG: 176. They look to Frank as their leader, always checking for weakness, when Susie tries to resist stabbing the janitor, they take her hand and guide the knife into the cleaner's throat.
They Hunt together, they're game mechanics include an animalistic frenzy, and they do it for the thrill, the final stop of a past of vandalism, bullying and theft. I think if the Entity hadn't taken them they most likely would've gone down a similar road to the murder club of MAG: 112.
And that's the list! Obviously the argument could be made for all of them to be Web or Desolation as they all serve the same insect-esque dark god, by causing eternal suffering. However that's boring, and a direct cognate to that doesn't exist in the TMA universe (maybe the things that were fear?). If you disagree with any choices lemme know. I'll probs do the next 10 (from Plague to Skullmerchant on the dbd wiki) soon-ish.
Until then, thank you for reading!
< Icons and art came from the dbd wiki and Grace Holsten's tumblr respectively >

Deadpool vs Wolverine thoughts
- lots of Easter eggs like too many to count honestly definitely requires a well rounded media knowledge even outside of marvel
- fucking incredible soundtrack. Great nostalgic choices that really made the film imo
- Chris Evan’s cameo as Johnny flame? Hilarious
- overall plot very fast and loose and really more there just to have a reason to put the two together
- is definitely crack
- like this absolutely could just be considered a crack universe because the one choice that ruined any type of canon was having Laura? The kid from Logan there in the void because Logan was sooo serious and talking about it was fine and bringing a different version (primed for “funnier”) is a great choice but wtf was she just there for other than a lil tear jerk moment idk unnecessary
- all serious moments lowkey unnecessary felt very off in comparison to the rest bc the rest was crack lol
- only part of the multiple Deadpool thing I liked was its uzi time baby
- fuck that gross dog forever but Logan just holding it to walk across truly hilarious
- love blade ? And the elektra call back but still those movies were so.. like serious (tho very camp) that it’s kind of weird to place these characters
- but the one liner to blade about animal king made it ok for me lol
- Stanley steamer cameo Stan Lee check very creative
- Cassandra… idk how to feel just a plug in villain but she had the opportunity to be so so so good I think I felt like she was underutilized
- as usual the worst part of marvel movies is their admittance that they know what’s wrong and don’t care but hey I literally saw it in theaters so it’s cyclical and 50% pass for being written and produced by Ryan
- I wish they put spawn in it. Idk man no reason at all I have no idea how the comics interact if at all but w the other cameos I think that’s probably the most overlooked marvel movie
- mad max mention check check check
- the tva as a continued narrative I dislike which is ironic bcccc —->
- Loki mention! Meta but whatever
- it was really funny I will give it props yes one liners but good ones !
- bloopers from all versions of X-men etc as ending reel solid!!! Very good
- fight scenes.. the opening was the best and the others were fine…
- they should have kisses there was the PERFECT moment and they didn’t
- I think this was a fun Wolverine actually I like how much he swore and was as nasty as Deadpool
- 7/10 final rating which is a b if you’re in Canada (reference Ryan reynolds)

No podemos olvidar a BMW i Andretti Motorsport. ¡Me intriga saber quién será elegido! #Automovilismo #FastCars #Motorheads

Snap CEO says 20 million U.S. teens use Snapchat, but only 200,000 parents use its Family Center controls
During today’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on kids’ online safety, Snap CEO Evan Spiegel shared that 20 million teenagers use Snapchat in the United States and that around 200,000 parents use its Family Center supervision controls. He also shared that approximately 400,000 teen accounts have been linked to a parent’s account through Family Center. Spiegel’s testimony marks the first time that Snap has shared real-world metrics regarding the usage of Snapchat’s parental controls.
Snapchat’s Family Center, which allows parents to see who their teens are friends with on the app and who they have been communicating with, first launched in 2022.

Spiegel shared the numbers after Senator Alex Padilla (D-Calif) asked the CEO’s of Snap, Meta, TikTok, X and Discord to disclose how many minors were using their platforms and how many parents were using parental supervision controls offered by the services.
“We create a banner for Family Center on the user’s profiles,” Spiegel said after being asked what Snapchat was doing to ensure parents and guardians are aware of the tools. “So the accounts we believe may be the age that they can be parents can see the entry point into Family Center easily.”
Snap introduced the parental controls in response to increased pressure on social networks to better protect minor users from harm. Snapchat’s roll out of Family Center followed the the launches of similar parental control features across other apps, including Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
Spiegel was the only CEO to share numbers in response to Senator Padilla’s question.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said he was unable to provide specific numbers, but said that the company runs “extensive ad campaigns” both on its platform and outside to raise awareness of its parental supervision tools.
X CEO Linda Yaccarino shared that less than 1% of the platform’s 90 million U.S. users are between the ages of 13 and 17, and that the company is discussing parental controls.
“Being a 14 month old company we have reprioritized child protection and safety measures,” Yaccarino said. “We have just begun to talk about and discuss how we can enhance those with parental controls.”
TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew said he was unable to share specifics, but that TikTok was “one of the first platforms” to give parents supervision controls. Discord CEO Jason Citron said that Discord raises awareness of its parental controls through promotional videos and in-app prompts.

I have a whole lot of feelings regarding Michael and Max, but for right now I want talk about one of the moments they shared in the bunker. This post talks about something Max says to Liz, and how, out of context, it makes Max look really problematic, but in context, is actually exactly the thing Liz needed to hear.
And while this is probably an unpopular opinion I think the same actually goes for what Max said to Michael about his ”burden”. Because taking that scene by itself, telling an abused child “I felt your pain” and “what happened to you happened to me” is like.... what the fuck?! Literally how dare you try to act like you could even begin to understand what he was going through, at such a formative stage in his life. And that’s what Michael looks like he’s expecting:
But Michael thinks he’s always been alone. He thinks Max and Isobel fucked off with the Evans and left him behind and yeah he probably has some jealousy that Max got the childhood he was denied. Shit, how could he not? How could he look at himself and Max, these two boys that started their lives in the same place, and not be furious that Max got the life he was denied?
But the good part of him, the compassionate heart he has was so happy and relieved that they had it easier. He took those beatings and burns, he took every punch and he buried it so they would be spared. He never wanted to hurt them, he never wanted them to know the horrors he had to endure - they were all he loved in the world and he wanted them to be happy, even if it meant he suffered.
And that’s been his character the whole show. Michael doing things that hurt himself in order to protect Max and Isobel. Burying all that pain and abuse as a child so they wouldn’t worry about him. Burying a literal body so Max wouldn’t be seen as a murderer. Taking the blame for Isobel’s murders so she wouldn’t be horrified at herself. Covering up those murders so they could all be safe. Spending 10 years living up to that perception of loose canon/monster so they wouldn’t feel guilty about what he gave up for them.
And he never talks about any of it with them, not ever. Not at 14. Not at 17. Not at 27.
He never told them about Alex - never said a word. Didn’t tell him that a human showed him kindness for the first time. Didn’t tell them he fell in love. Didn’t tell them he was brutally punished for that love. Didn’t tell them the man he loved left to go off to a foreign country and die.
And because of that, he’s made himself i n s a n e l y isolated. Gawd, can you imagine? Being alone with all your thoughts for 20 years of just nonstop horror and pain? Can you even begin to fucking imagine what a burden that was to carry by himself? And he did all of it, kept it from them, so that they wouldn’t hurt. No wonder Michael needs his Quiet.
So when Max tries to talk about his own “burden,” Michael understandably looks skeptical - because, how, how could it even begin to compare?
And then Max starts talking about “guilt” and Michael’s face kind of freezes:
This isn’t what he was expecting Max to say. He was expecting Max to give some speech about always having to be the responsible one, the one that made the rules, the “dad” of the group, the one who had to take care of them all. He thought Max was going to explain all the ways in which Michael’s behavior was a burden for Max.
But he’s not - he’s talking about his inability to prevent Michael’s pain.
To anyone else, from anyone else, these words would be incredibly callous, but they’re not bc this is exactly what Michael needed to hear. This is Max saying:
“You were loved. You were watched. You were noticed. You wouldn’t talk about it but I knew and it hurt me to know you were hurting. Every time. I wanted to carry that burden with you so that you wouldn’t have to carry it alone.”
And just imagine what that must feel like for Michael to hear? All the hiding, all the secrets, all the years of this pain and chaos building inside him because he thought he was all alone in the world, and here Max is, emphatically telling him that was never true. Max cared. Max didn’t want Michael to be hurting, would have gladly shared that pain if only it meant Michael wasn’t carrying it alone.
And we’ve learned through reference in 1.06 (both at Prom when Michael “had a bad feeling” and That Night) and again more explicitly in 1.12 that the psychic connection between the three of them isn’t limited to just Max and Isobel - “when things are really bad for one of us, the others get flashes of pain.”
Riley makes the point here that what makes this line land so hard for the audience is that Max is referencing specific events, but I also think that’s what makes it land so hard for Michael. He’s realizing not only was he never truly hiding his abuse, but that Max and Isobel were very likely experiencing it with him.
And that’s why Michael doesn’t spit in Max’s face and shout “How Dare?!” Because the weight of understanding how much Max cares, how much Max would have done for him, how much Max loves him is hitting him like a tidal wave. It’s something he’s never accounted for, something he was absolutely blind to.
This expression is stripped. The walls have come down and he even looks apologetic, looks regretful. Because hes spent 20 years trying to prevent Max and Isobel from knowing the depth of his pain and he’s facing that revelation that he failed. All those years of burying and hiding and smiling through his pain were for nothing because Max always knew.
Even as Max is begging him to understand that he’s not alone, Michael is still sorry. Because no matter how jealous he was, no matter how furious that Max got to have that perfect life while he experienced nothing but horror, he still loves Max enough that he never ever wanted Max to go through what he went through, and he’s sorry that he wasn’t able to prevent Max from seeing it anyway.
And that is fucking important for Michael to understand. That at the end of the day, he is seen and he is loved. Max loves him, more than all the shit they’ve been burying for a decade. Max is on his side. Max is family.
So no, I don’t think that Max saying this to Michael was Peak Privileged Bullshit. I think it was Max finally busting through Michael’s walls and reaching out to him in exactly the way he needed to be reached. And it worked.

okay, so like the Desert/Oasis/Ocean symbolism is driving me up a wall, cause like it exists in season four but half of the threads don’t carry through into an actual plot because how the narrative treated Max and Liz’s relationship. But mostly I’m just staring at that final 4x13 scene (not literally I’m not a masochist) and wanting to throw things cause if handled correctly it could have been a well structured piece of the symbolism
Like it could have been a pretty little scene of how Max was moving on from his set issues and fully committing to the Oasis that was their relationship, mirroring the shift Liz made at the end of season three when she moved fully into the Oasis symbolism as well. While also depicting how their relationship in more ways than one began in the desert and had finally grown out of those stages, towards marriage and building a family. But like… it doesn’t. Just like Max choosing to leave their bed (which I’ve discussed the Oasis symbolism there before) and go out into the desert -alone- to remove his powers, but in doing so finds himself sitting on a dock by a man made pond while he removes his powers… like so much opportunity tbh
#and as always not enough follow through#I mean I went into s4 with plans to expand on two different metas and got zilch for both 😭#roswell new mexico#max evans#liz ortecho#echo and landscapes

So we saw the moment Max learned his hands could kill. I would like the see when he learned he could heal.
I'm not a Max person, even though trying to watch the og helped me appreciate him a bit more (og max creeps me out a lot idk how people shipped them). But, in rnm, we only see him, as a child, kill. Obviously, by the time Rosa's death came, he knew he could do something along the lines of healing because he tried, but at the time with the drifter, he said all he could do was mess with electricity and then he murdered someone with his bare hands on accident.
Imagine what that does to a kid. Yes, he was protecting his sister, but it's no less horrifying. How long did he go thinking that his brother was telekinetic, his sister was psychic, and he was murderous? That they had fun superpowers and he was destined to be the villain? How long did he spend trying to fight whatever darkness was inside of him, telling him it was only a matter of time?
Then, when he realized that wasn't the case, that he could help, not hurt, he must've been so relieved. A big "oh, I'm not bad". But then an "oh, I dont have to fight my nature, I'm okay. I'm good. I'm helpful." And after Rosa, that voice gets louder. Hes good. What he did wasn't bad. Hes good. Hes helpful.
And he becomes a cop because he wants to continue to be good, continue to be helpful. He doesn't want to think of what he spent however long thinking. He doesnt want to feel like the villain of his story. He already feels bad about Michael, feels bad about Isobel, feels bad about Rosa, about Liz, about these things he really didnt have much control over, but puts it on himself because that's what he does and he wanted to overcompensate. He refuses to be the bad guy.
So then what's going to happen when he wakes up from his temporary death? Is he going to remember spiralling, remember becoming manic, remember healing Michael without his consent, remember dying at a chance to feel better, remember feeling good after murdering?
Is he going to think he became the villain he tried so hard not to be?
#i say knowing carina wont address that at all#max has a hero complex#like we know michael wants to be alexs hero#but max just strives to be a martyr#im sorry for this rambling#max evans#max evans meta#roswell new mexico#rnm

i know people got tired of the ‘max is dying’ stuff but i genuinely love that there were such serious consequences for not only max bringing rosa back from the dead but liz bringing him back from the dead too.
it lasted just the right amount of time for me, with s2 being half bringing him back and half repercussions, and s3 being half repercussions and half healing/protecting what he’d regained.
it provides limits to his abilities, it raises the life/death stakes for the rest of the cast, and it makes the rosa resurrection/max’s sacrifice all the more meaningful because we know it’s a miracle he ever came back from it and he really had to suffer the consequences of his own redemption. he never got an easy solution.
anyway looking forward to max being his new and improved self in s4 and getting to play with his powers again.

So in 3x12 Heath talks about the place where he and Dallas “used to quiet the voices” and in 3x13 Liz says to Max “you quiet all the noise” when talking about their first meeting at the playground. Those lines have to be intentional parallels to “together we could quiet all the noises, drown out the voices” from Alex’s song right?

Max and Jones
The show has been very heavy handed in its focus on Max and Jones being exact replicas of each other, especially in the dialogue.
All of the terms used throughout the season focus on their mirroring of each other: clone, evil twin, Diet Max, genetic copy, blah blah blah.
We have Liz talking about how clones are biologically the same.
We have Jones focusing on the sameness between him and Max from 3x01, the connection between them as early as 3x03.
We have them literally body swap, and Jones tricking everyone into thinking he’s Max. Repeatedly.
A few weeks ago I threw some crazy speculation at the dart board that the show might be purposefully avoiding discussion of the differences between Max and Jones, maybe to keep the audience’s focus on the sameness. Because there ARE differences, and narratively it could easily be the key to everything in the finale.
Lately there’s been a lot of nature versus nurture discussion pointing out how his upbringing has MADE Max different, even though all signs should have pointed to them being the same. Tonight we had Max and Dallas literally breaking it down in that manner. Max is a miracle because he IS different from Jones, and they saw it from when he was a young child. But nature versus nurture isn’t biological. And my point a few weeks ago was the symbolism of the one biological difference between them: Max’s heart. It’s Noah’s heart that Liz molded into something new for Max. And it is biologically different than Jones. You can read my thoughts on that here:
https://angsty-nerd.tumblr.com/post/662728835926753280/hey-friends-and-nonnies-a-few-more-thoughts-i
Today there was a subtle mention of another difference. One that I actually thought about much earlier this season, but when I broached the subject with a few people I got a lot of this 🤔 as a response, which made me think I was grasping at straws.
Their powers are different too.
Jones talked about their powers to Liz tonight:
“They’re not just skills. They’re who we are. Fire is a part of my destiny. See, it doesn’t just destroy for no reason. Fire destroys to create.”
Dallas talked about powers too, in the context of the Nature vs Nurture conversation. He told Max:
“If you, a person with great power — with all the same powers as Jones — could act differently. You — born to be made just like him — if you could change then their world could too.”
Again, Dallas is focusing on the “sameness” here.
BUT.
The power most most associated with Jones is fire. Over and over again, we have seen him burn, flames shooting from his hands, walking through fiery destruction.
Hell even Jones’ aura looks like fire…
Max, on the other hand, is associated with electricity. With lightning, lightbulbs, power outages, and fractal patterns.
Fire and electricity are NOT the same thing.
I went down a rabbit hole tonight on symbolism for a different meta…but one of the things I found myself looking at was alchemy. In alchemy, fire and lightning are two different elements that represent different things. In the basic four element view of things (earth, fire, water, air) lightning is associated with air rather than fire (you know…since it comes from the sky). So going down that rabbit hole I came across THIS fascinating article:
This in particular caught my attention:
Therefore, two partners, rivals, or Foils would have one of them become associated with flame, and the other lightning. This might be because the two forces are similar yet different, Fire and Electricity are both forms and sources of energy. Both are destructive in an uncontrolled state. Both give off light. Both are symbols of life — lightning of the giving of life, and fire of the saving of life. Both are symbols of power. Both have been used as symbols of divine anger. Both have been used to represent technological advancements. Lightning is direct but short, fire takes its time. Lightning can set things on fire, and fire used right can generate electricity. Both are part of an elemental trinity. People of ancient times used to think that lightning was celestial fire.
Emphasis added by me because…mind blown.
Lightning (Max) giving life (ROSA).
Symbols of divine anger… Max killing Noah, but also Jones burning the Oasis.
Lightning is direct but short - Max’s short life and close relationship with death.
Fire takes its time - Jones prolonging and unnaturally seeking ways to extend his life.
Both part of an elemental trinity. There has to be three. Triads. Power of three. So my question becomes…is there a third piece to the unholy Max/Jones/? Triad? The third piece of the elemental trinity is ice (or water).
We already have Dallas associated with water, but if he’s intended to be part of Michael and Isobel’s triad (and he’s missing, you know, Jones’ not-so-ugly mug), I find it hard to believe it’d be him.
To be fair, I also find it hard to believe they’d give us another season of Nathan pulling double duty. But wouldn’t it be cool if we eliminate Jones at the end of S3 only to find another alien, with ice in his veins, who is even worse than Jones?
Regardless, to sum it all up, I still think Jones’ eventual destruction is going to come from the differences between him and Max, not the similarities. Whether it’s through the biological difference (the heart), the psychological difference (nature versus nurture), or the difference in elemental abilities (fire versus lightning), or simply the power that comes from the entire team working together to defeat Jones and save Max as a single unit…either way, I suspect we will see emphasis on their differences come into play in this final arc next week.

Mark Zuckerberg defends teenage creators’ right to public Instagram accounts
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and founder of Meta, commented in today’s Senate hearing on children’s online safety that teenagers should be able to be creators and share their content widely.
Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI) questioned Zuckerberg about Meta’s privacy controls for teenagers. On Instagram, for example, teens under 16 — or 18 in some countries — have their accounts automatically set to private when they join the platform. But, teenagers can toggle these safety measures to make their accounts public at any time.

“Yes, we default teens into a private account so they can have a private and restricted experience,” Zuckerberg told the Senator. “But some teens want to be creators and want to have content that they share more broadly, and I don’t think that’s something that should just blanketly be banned.”
Research has shown that becoming a content creator is a dream for many young Americans. In 2019, Morning Consult reported that 86% of teens would consider trying to become an influencer, and that influencers held as much sway as traditional celebrities. For example, as many teens were familiar with the creator PewDiePie as they were with NBA legend LeBron James. When Lego surveyed 3,000 children in 2019, the toy company found that “vlogger” was a more popular dream job for kids than “astronaut.”
Some of the most successful creators started out when they were teenagers, like now-19-year-old Charli D’Amelio, a self-made millionaire whose family now has its own venture capital fund. MrBeast, another of the world’s highest earning creators, began posting on YouTube when he was thirteen.
Of course, there are safety risks for these young creators, as well as any young person on the internet. But Zuckerberg affirms that their contributions to culture… and Meta’s bottom line… are worth it. For a business like Instagram, it’s important to keep talented creators happy on the platform so that their viral content continues to drive ad revenue.
“There have been a lot of teens creating amazing things, and I think with the right supervision and parenting and controls… I don’t think that’s the type of thing that you want to not allow anyone to be able to do,” Zuckerberg said.
Zuckerberg is one of five tech CEOs who testified before Congress about children’s online safety on Wednesday, including X’s Linda Yaccarino, Discord’s Jason Citron, Snap’s Evan Seigel, and TikTok’s Shou Chew.
