“(Y/N)? What are you doing here?” Alex asked as I stepped inside of there apartment.

“Well, I’m here to see Max.” I said proudly, sitting myself onto the sofa. “Max? You- You’re here to see Max?” She asked in complete disbelief, and I nodded. “I live here, and even I don’t step into my own house to see him.” She laughs at her own joke, closing the door and walks behind the couch to straight to the kitchen.

“Well, him and I kinda had this whole day planned out.”

“Oh, really?” I heard Alex say.

“Yeah, we were planning-”

“No, sorry. I was looking at my phone just now, apparently tomatoes are both fruits and vegetables. Way to get the best of both worlds.” She laughed, before going to look in the fridge for something.

“Hey, (Y/N). How are you?” Theresa said coming down the stairs.

“Hey! Mrs. Russo? Have you seen Max, anywhere?”

“No, sweetheart. Have you tried calling him?”

“I did, but no reply. Is he up in his room?” I asked and she called out to him, and he didn’t say anything.

“Do you mind if I go check?” I asked and she shook her head ‘no’ and told me where his room was.

“Hey, before you go, you’re going to need this.” Alex said before wiping out her wand and made a gas mask appear out of thin air. “For your face. Cause who knows what’s died in there.”

She placed it in my hand and I shook my head and went upstairs. I knocked on Max’s room door. “Max? Max, are you in there?” Nothing was said, and I put my ear to the door and listened in.

I heard something coming from inside, but it was faint and I couldn’t quite pick up what it was. I took out my wand and slowly opened the door and wand first.

I looked around and realized that the sound I heard was just him sleeping with a pillow over his head.

I walked over to his bed, taking the pillow off him and gently tried to shake him awake. “Max? Max?”

He groaned and continued to sleep, and stood up trying to figure out how to get his up.

“I guess I’m just going to have to eat this sub sandwich all by myself…” I said and Max shot up from his bed, and I laughed.

“Why are you laughing? This is no laughing matter. Where’s the sandwich? You shouldn’t have to eat it all alone.” He asked looking around for it.

“I don’t have one, I was trying to wake you up.”

“You’re a monster, don’t temp a man with a delicious sandwich only for you to not have it.” He groaned and laid back down, and I was quick to grab his hand and sit him back up.

“Nope, you promised us a fun day out. And there’s a fair nearby and I plan on going, let’s go.”

“But I go such stuff to do today!”

“Like what?”

“Give me a minute! I’ll think of something..” He folded his arms and thought about it.

“I’m leaving and you better be dressed in ten minutes, Russo.” I pointed my wand in his direction and walked downstairs.

“Took you long enough, I thought you died up there.”

“And if I did would you have saved me?”

“I would, but I gave you my only gas mask.” Alex admitted and shook my head handing it back to her.

“He was up there though, he was just sleeping.” I told Theresa.

“How’d you get him up?” She asked and I replied with the word, ‘Food.’

“That’s the only thing me and him have in common, y’know?” Alex said.

“You both share the same parents, last name, house…?”

“Oh, yeah. That too.” She said and plopped down on the couch.

I shook my head, trying not to laugh as Max came down the stairs, all dressed. I smiled at him and asked if he was ready to go.

“I was, but I came down with this really bad cold.” He said and forcefully let out a cough. “All of a sudden, I might not be able to go.”

“Oh, let me take a look at you, honey.” Theresa stepped out from behind the counter, put her hand up to his forehead.

“No fever, and your heads kinda wet. Did you wet a towel and put it on your head?”

“Well, look at the time. It’s getting late, we better go to the fair. Bye, mom and Alex!” He exclaimed grabbing my hand and dashed out the house.

As we walked to the fair, I felt the sudden urge to ask him a question. “Hey, do you really not want to go to the fair with me?”

He stopped in his tracks looking around as if something had the answer written up for him. “I do, believe me. When I asked, I wasn’t ready for you to say, ‘yes.’” He said and started to walk again and I followed suit.

“Why not?”

“After all the tricks, I’ve pulled on people at school, most people try to avoid me.”

“I hate to break it to you Max, but I’m not most people. I’m my own person, and just because you pulled a few pranks on people, it’s not going to change my opinion about you.”

“What’s your opinion?”

“I find you fun to be around, I don’t mind your pranks as long as they’re harmless. And I find you handsome.”

“Handsome? You find me.. handsome?” He said and I nodded as he couldn’t stop himself from smiling. “Well, I find you handsome too. Wait! That’s not the right word. I meant pretty!” He exclaimed, trying to dig himself out of the hole he put himself in.

“It’s okay! I get what you’re trying to say, Max. And thank you, that’s very next of you.” I took his hand in my own and noticed the fair not far ahead.

“Ready for some fun?”

“Always.” He smiled and kissed my cheek, and led me into the fair.

Frankly, I don't watch or care about teen sit-coms any more but I'm keeping a close look on the wizards of waverly place sequel show simple because I need to know how they are going to handle that family tournament thing as a doubt modern audience, even kids audience, is going to be okay with how mess up it actually was.

because no disney, i didn't forgot the time you created the most broken magic system ever, have multiple characters complained about how broken this system is and how it is keep destroying families but when a group of people that were victims of said system actually spoke out and started complaining loudly the narrative potrait them as stupid, ungrateful brats and the leader of this movement was called "pure evil" by main characters and killed of in a joke

thinking about how Max got his full powers when he was around 12 in the first season of WOWP and wizards can still be late bloomers around age 13,

and since Billie is already 12 and so is Roman… there is still a chance that at the season finale of s1, we discover that Roman does in fact have wizard powers.

this leads to eventually figuring out Milo might have inherited magic too and when he comes of age he’ll have his full powers. this leads to the Russo family finally getting into the real villain of the WOWP Universe: the Family Wizard Competition. so the Russo’s + Billie (bc Justin and Giada legit adopted her) fighting to disband this entire competition.

ironically, in another twist, Alex tells Justin that this whole thing could have happened twenty years ago had they helped Stevie end the competition cycle for good.

Justin: Didn’t Max kill your ex-girlfriend by knocking her over as a statue?

Alex: Yeah, we don’t like to talk about that.

Family wizard competition has destroyed many families

Alex secretly created a clone of Justin years ago and sent him to a University

Dragons are just regular sized lizards with wings

There were moments where he started to enjoy being a girl and moments where he didn’t

Max has an onscreen kill count of 3 people

one of the people he killed just wanted to give everyone magic

Max created a bunch of monsters using magic

Said monsters apparently killed the majority of monster hunters so Max has a larger kill count

Alex “defeated” said monsters by sending them to Spain (this is never elaborated)

Justin created a monster in the same method as Frankenstein (it is unknown where he got said body parts to create her)

The monster who was named Frankie is actually pretty nice but was sent to Monster Jail and never appeared again

Some magician’s sibling turned his girlfriend into a bird

The bird turns back into a human but the man liked her better as a bird and turned her into a bird again

Max noticed a change in your personality when you began dating your boyfriend. You spoke differently and dressed differently in an attempt to impress the guy you and every other girl in the school had a crush on. He remembered when you rushed over to his locker to tell him about your first date and Max was surprised, not because he thought you weren't good enough to be dating someone so popular, but because rumour had it that he was seeing another girl. But he kept his concerns to himself and even went clothes shopping with you for your date and as you stepped out from behind the curtain Max couldn't help but wish he had the confidence to ask you first.

You were friends first and Max always reminded himself of that whenever he listened to you talk about your boyfriend and when you rescheduled time with him to spend with your boyfriend. He was supportive even when he left like he couldn't breathe as you remained oblivious to his feelings for you.

The relationship was a whirlwind in every sense. Three weeks longer than any previous relationships your now ex-boyfriend had. Max was thankful that, while you sometimes cancelled on him, you always felt able to talk to him openly about anything. So when cracks began to appear in your relationship he knew about it and did everything he could to make sure you knew how much he cared about you.

The day it all fell apart Max was serving at the substation and you were studying, waiting for him to finish up so you could spend the rest of the day together - your suggestion for making up for lost time and Max couldn't hide his excitement at having you all to himself.

The day started great, with laughter shared between you both as he came over to sit with you when the substation was quiet, but when your boyfriend arrived the smile quickly left your lips and Max was ordered away.

"We need to talk." Your boyfriend sat across from you while Max reluctantly retreated, staying close by so he could overhear the conversation.

"We need to break up."

You were shocked by his behaviour, stammering as you asked, "Wha- why?"

"I don't think it's working out between us. We're two different people. It's not you, it's me."

Max almost rolled his eyes at the cliché statement.

"Why?" You pressed for answers, although you felt a surprising sense of relief.

"B-Because...look at your sweater." He gestured to the knit sweater you were wearing and you glanced down, before looking at him with confusion.

"It was a Christmas present. What's wrong with it?"

"Everything. And that's the problem."

Your lips parted in shock when suddenly a drink was poured over your now ex-boyfriend's head, the shock making him stand up and turn to glare at Max who was glaring at him.

"No, you are."

"Max!" You shrieked, looking at your sweater, drying the small splatters of soda with your sleeve. You quickly got between the two when they stood toe to toe, and dismissed your ex swiftly. "You should go."

"I'm already gone." He stormed out, scoffing as he shook his head and you looked at Max in disbelief before heading upstairs to the apartment.

"Y/N, wait!" He called as he rushed after you, following you to the kitchen where you cleaned your sweater. hoping it wouldn't stain. "I'm sorry."

"What were you thinking?" You turned to him as his mouth opened and closed, stammering to think of an answer. Max decided it was time he stopped pretending you were just a friend to him.

"I-I thought you deserved better." He said. "He's a jerk and you - well, you're - you."

"Great that really cleared it up." You replied sarcastically, wiping your sweater.

"The truth is..." You looked at him, crossing your arms and Max licked his lips, taking a deep breath to summon all of his courage to finally confess how he felt about you. "I've had feelings for you for a while now and I guess I always thought I would have time to tell you before someone else did." Your gaze softened whilst you lowered your arms, your feet rooted to the ground as he approached you. "You deserve more than he could ever have given you because if he cared about you, he wouldn't change a thing about you because - you're perfect." He exhaled, a smile tugging at his lips. "You're perfect."

You stared up at him, feeling tears prick your eyes at how vulnerable he looked right now. "Max -"

"I mean it." He continued, clearing his throat. "I'm sorry. For the sweater."

You couldn't fight the smile appearing on your lips and shook your head as you stepped forward to hug him. You rested your cheek on his shoulder as he returned the embrace and as you stood savouring the moment you couldn't deny that Max had been there all along. Through every up and down in your life he was always by your side, prepared to shelter you from a storm or picking up the pieces from the aftermath. But this time he didn't have to, because you realised why you felt so relieved when your ex broke up with you.

You lifted your head, meeting his gaze which was drawn to your lips now and then due to the distance, or lack thereof, between you. "What if we didn't work out?"

Max was caught off guard by the question but quickly shook his head. "That could never happen." He spoke confidently.

You moved your hand to his chest, glancing down when you felt his heartbeat that was racing wildly from the touch. "Then promise me that if it doesn't - if you realise that I'm not what you wanted - "

Max placed a hand on your cheek, and you met his gaze which made you forget what you were going to say. "That could never happen."

"How do you know?" You asked quietly.

"Because you're all I've ever wanted."

You closed your eyes when he leaned in, feeling him slow down as if to give you time to move away, but when you didn't, he kissed you hesitantly, before growing more certain of his actions when you reciprocated, leaning into the kiss.

After a few moments, you pulled away, glancing up at him as you rolled your lips, smiling softly which eased his concerns. He mirrored the smile, and you placed a hand on the nape of his neck, reigniting the kiss.
