It has come to my attention that there aren't many manips with Benoit/Phillip as young adults out there, soo ... I did that instead of being otherwise productive!
I know these are not perfect, but I think the idea of them meeting at a young age and being in love ever since is very cute. <3

benoit blanc/philip: homecoming
spoilers for The Glass Onion ahead!
--
“So,” says Philip.
“So,” says Benoit Blanc.
“You solved a murder on a billionaire’s private island, then encouraged your new friend to blow up virtually the entire island, causing the destruction of one of the greatest works of art in the history of humanity and the downfall of said billionaire’s massive tech company. Not to mention the billionaire himself.”
Blanc nods, looking around at the open living room-slash-kitchen area of his and Philip’s flat, suitcases at his feet and the stale smell of airplane still clinging to his clothes.
“And you,” he says, “made about fifty loaves of sourdough bread in my absence.”
“Fifty-six,” says Philip. “I ate some.”
Blanc nods slowly, looking at his husband. His husband looks back.
“My god, I love you,” Blanc says.
“I love you too. I wish I could have seen the explosion.”
“It was quite something.” Blanc steps closer and takes Philip’s face in his hands. He kisses him hard on the mouth. Philip gives a startled inhale and then kisses back, grasping at Blanc’s upper arms, pulling him in.
“There you are,” he gasps out, looking into Blanc’s eyes. “There you are.”
Blanc’s face falls a bit. “I do apologize for my…rather insufferable behavior these last few months. And for monopolizing our bathtub. I know I cannot have been much of a joy to cohabitate with.”
“Oh, Blanc,” says Philip, “mostly it was just hard to watch you suffer. I miss your…” He gestures at Blanc’s sparkling eyes, his upright posture, his bright face alive with intelligence. “This. You.”
Blanc smiles a little and kisses Philip, more softly this time. “Have you perfected the recipe yet?”
Philip beams. “Try for yourself.”
Blanc looks around at the dozens of loaves stacked on their cabinets, tables, counters, and even the occasional bookshelf. “I certainly shall,” he replies. “I certainly shall.”

Benoit Blanc (Knives Out + Glass Onion) enjoyers, may I please entreat you to read Maurice Leblanc's Arsène Lupin? These movies are the kinds of cases Lupin would get himself involved in just for the fun of it
In the USA, books 1-17* are in the public domain :)
*1-17, number-wise, according to the wikipedia chronology ; depending on the publisher / country / language etc of the various editions, some stories were included as bonuses in various translations but not available until later in the original french, etc etc etc. Books/Stories also have....way too many alternate titles, so don't be too alarmed if you're looking at print copies anywhere and see different names for different books.

(Archive) Animated short film of the day: Duck Amuck (1953)
There's something decidedly self indulgent but nevertheless interesting about using entertainment to discuss entertainment itself: Deconstructions, parodies, and in this case, getting meta; one of the most cerebral and fascinating… if done right. When used poorly it becomes a hand wave or a cynical tool to divert attention away of a work's flaws or be patronising to the audience. When used properly though? It can give us an insight on why we love a medium so much. Which is why this short is a landmark for commercial western animation.
While not the first to make use of the concept of an animator directly interacting with the cartoon character, as Disney's Saludos Amigos (1942) already had some of this, it pushed everything about this gag to the limit. The story(loosely using the term) is pretty much just Daffy getting messed with by whoever is animating(take a guess who that turns out to be) to such an extreme at various different points nothing that is identifiable about Daffy stays: The voice? The character design? Both get played with to nigh unrecognizable points to see how much you can take away while still keeping the audience engaged. And engaged it should be, as not only is the work hilarious but also a small but delicious insight of how animation is made.
Well…was.
It's a short made in the 50's, so some of the gags that may have been a little more obvious then would require some clarification for modern viewers. The core of it, though, remains as appealing as it ever was. Looney Toons shorts can be hit and miss in some areas(some having aged horrendously for a plethora of reasons) but when they hit the mark, they're absolute guaranteed classics and this is one of the best for being so bold on it's approach.

Round 1 Poll 42
The Struggle: 「This song and this band in general are so fucking good but virtually nobody knows about about them, which is really odd since the band members went on to form Slint, which is a huge band, and though not the same vibe the songs are really good nevertheless. Anyways the instrumental is so intense, especially the drums? god the drums are incredible, I am obsessed, Britt Walford is just a terrific drummer. Also the whole album is just incredible, especially if you're into the hardcore/post-hardcore.
i can only fond the whole album on youtube but its the opener」
youtube
Jyougen No Tsuki: 「It's a beautiful vkei song that sounds like you're ballroom dancing in the 1800s at a masquerade」

(from @witchhakuba it won't let me switch accs) we've seen saguru and tiny kaito. but what about kaito and tiny saguru? 👀
Tumblr media
Ahhhh thank you for the ask and sorry I took so long to reply (I was sick 🤒)
Buttttt god, thank you for giving me the excuse to draw tiny Saguru 😘😘😘
Imo, if Saguru were to be drugged with APTX4689, it would be because he stumbled upon the Black Org at a heist and stepped in as they were about to harm Kaito. Kaito brought him home and they work together to find the antidote (and pandora). Now, instead of chasing after KID, Hakuba is put into a position where he has to cover up KID’s trail against other detectives (which he will have moral crisises about) and fend off the Black Org.
(Kaito becomes very protective of Tiny-guru because he felt guilty Hakuba’s drugged because of him).
Hakuba’s alias would be something like Arthur LeBlanc (Arthur Conan Doyle and Maurice LeBlanc - author of Arsene Lupin and Blanc means white, which Saguru took quite an offense to, but hey, Kaito’s the one forging documents here 🤷🏻‍♀️)
Unlike Conan, I don’t think Hakuba would let his parents know about his predicament. He doesn’t seem to be close with his parents and wouldn’t want to bother/endanger them. Each of his parents just thought he was staying with the other one. At most, he tells Bayaa.
Arthur enrolled into the same primary school as Conan, and immediately arose suspicion when the Detective Boys arrived at a murder scene only to be informed that the crime has already been solved by another first grader. Ai Haibara, especially, did not trust him and avoid Arthur at all costs. Conan further suspect him when Arthur shows up at every heist.
Ahhhhh please feed me more ideas! This was fun. I’d likely draw more atpx!Hakuba in the future!
