Hello! HUGE fan of your mermaid lore. But I can’t help wondering: where do you think mermaids came from? Like, how did they evolve as a species?

Aww ty, and great question!! If we're going the science route, I'd like to think mermaids evolved from the same creatures humans did; one fish went on land to explore and be a human, and the other fish stayed in the water to be a mermaid :)

I knew the Artemis Fowl movie would suck from the moment I read the casting call for Artemis himself. Something about how he “has a passion for life” or some shit like that. I read the books repeatedly growing up: that kid is so far up his own ass that he can see inside his intestines. Way to completely miss the point of the character, Disney.

YES. 

The whole point of Artemis Fowl is that the main character isn’t a hero properly speaking. He’s a brat, he’s mean, he’s cold and cynical (and it’s delightful). But he’s also one of the smartest humans of the planet and he’s a teen, a teen constantly dressing in tailor made suits and never smiling (except for victory smirks), which makes him hilarious, and the SECOND I knew that him and Holly would quickly become trusty partners who shake hands and smile I was like HA HA HA WHAT?

I’m sorry, but I have to ask this. Do Cass and Rapunzel become friends again in Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure? Because my heart can’t take seeing that gif set you posted where Cass is all angry and evil.

As of now, they aren’t friends again. But the show isn’t over yet, and I’m positive they will make up again before the finale.

But yeah, it’s been painful watching their broken friendship.

Question: what exactly happened between Callie and Marie in the final fest of Splatoon 1?

I doubt anyone needs a spoiler warning for Splatoon 1 nowadays, but just in case, I’m basically spoiling the entire thing below /dies

So basically near the end of Splatoon 1′s run, we got the Early Bird vs Night Owl Splatfest, and Team Night Owl ended up winning! Seemingly out of nowhere, the ending dialogue got pretty heated between Callie and Marie...

Callie and Marie always playfully jab at each other, but it got a little more personal, and then we got the announcement of the Callie Vs Marie Splatfest

Cue one of the absolute saltiest, most explosive Splatfests that we’ve EVER had in the community (boy I do not miss it), which eventually ended and lead to the final result

Team Marie Wins

Surprisingly, the ending dialogue is much more peaceful and loving for the Final Splatfest, and then things go on as normal...

Then comes the Splatoon 2 Teaser Trailer in 2017!

Everyone was pretty excited for it but what REALLY sparked a lot of conversation in the fandom was this image:

Marie was here because of winning the Splatfest....But what happened to Callie?

Basically the assumption is that because Marie won, she got to essentially star in Single Player mode of Splatoon 2!

Question: in the official canon, Gail was in high school, and Helen was at least in her mid-20s. How exactly did you work around that?

Official canon is a total mess, timeline-wise!  The more you try to make it work, the more broken it is.
