Watching The Little Mermaid (2023) with Mum and there are a lot of things to like about it - a few that I even think are done better than in the original fully-animated version (key among them is Ariel's songs due to Halle Bailey being a professional singer while Jodi Benson is moreso trained as a voice actor) - but there are also quite a few things that the former doesn't do as well as the latter, such as the scene of Triton destroying Ariel's trinket room not feeling nearly as powerful in live action/3D hybrid form as it does in 2D
