KENJI MATSUI (SEN MITSUJI) IS LOOKING FOR…
Connection: Siblings (older brother and younger sister) (0/2)
Suggested Name: First Name UTP but last name Matsui
Age Range: 28-38
Species: Human. (or Vampire/Werewolf if turned)
Suggested FCs: UTP. As long as they are half Japanese, I'm good! My first thoughts were Andrew Koji and Sonoya Mizuno but here’s more suggestions: James Yaegashi, Matt McCooey, Ian Anthony Dale, Tony Thornburg, Nichole Sakura, Hanako Greensmith, Ayami Nakajo, Midori Francis
Connection Description:
Triggers: death mention
Born and grew up in San Francisco to strict and controlling parents, him and his siblings only had each other for support. How your character felt about their parents is up to you, but Ken eventually grew weary and fell into step like they had wanted, which likely did not sit well with the siblings.
With power and greed motivating their parents, they didn’t blink twice when it came to making a profit, and eventually their Father betrayed his business partners to climb the ladder. Unbeknownst to them, this person was a witch and retaliated with magic -- no one knew until later.
Unable to bear their parents control the siblings left within a few years. Ken even helped the sister run away before leaving the family home himself. But he was found and turned by rouge vampires. Up to you if your character is Human or not. I think human would be interesting with Ken being immortal and all, but Vampire/Werewolf works too! ( If Vampire, I’m down to even say they were turned by the same rogues, that could be fun trauma bonding. )
I do envision his siblings being better than him in terms that they knew what they wanted and knew when it got too much, so they left. But of course, it could be the opposite and the reason could be anything!
Them being a somewhat of a new arrival makes more sense/is preferred since they haven’t been in contact for over a decade -- up to you if your character kept tabs on their siblings or not, Ken tried but gave up. I’m not entirely opposed to them not being new, like being in town and avoiding him or something would raise many questions so could be interesting but would involve a lot of plotting.
Please be sure to contact the player before applying:

there are so, so many reasons the dinner scene is hysterically funny, and one of them is that matt mccooey and jeremy ang jones' performances are extremely distinct to me even when they're both playing fandaniel. which isn't to say either of them did a bad job with the transition! the change is mostly pretty seamless! but my first instinct is to hear amon!fandaniel as hermes being Theatrical, and a good chunk of the time i have to purposely stop and listen back to register him as fandaniel instead. so when i tell you it almost killed me in one hit to hear the word 'daddy' come out of this man's mouth,
#final fantasy xiv#ffxiv#ffxiv hermes#ffxiv fandaniel#fandaniel#LIKE BELIEVE ME IT WOULD HAVE KILLED ME ANYWAY BUT HOLY SHIT LMAO#I KNEW HE WAS GONNA SAY IT GOING IN AND IT STILL HIT ME LIKE A BRICK TO THE FACE#I GENUINELY WHEEZED SO BAD I STARTED COUGHING#there's so much to be said about the range of voices across the same character--or cluster of them; rather--and both their voice actors#it's so good#but i just. oh my god. oh my God#shitposting#FF tag#ffxivtag#endwalker spoilers

I think its a combination of the voice actor and the writers. Like how Shinji Matou and Joffrey Baratheon are both LITTLE FUCKING SHITS but its the writing and the actors performances that really sell how much of an ABSOLUTELY PIECE OF SHIT THAT YOU WILL PROCEED TO DROWN IN A VAT OF BOILING ACID they really are. And it goes to show that while I feel Square kind of failed at giving us a proper Yotsuyu story in Post-Stormblood. They fucking SOLD me on how absolutely INSUFFERABLE Asahi is and by extention, Fandaniel. Who might of been a better character if he literally possessed ANYONE ELSE! He could of possessed Teledji Adaleji and it would of been BETTER THAN FUCKING ASAHI! By the end of the Tsukuyomi fight, I know one thing is for certain. If I had to grow up with that LITTLE FUCKING SHIT and those BITCH ASS parents, I too would dream of nothing better than MURDERING THEM FUCKERS.
So good job to FFXIV writers as well as Matt McCooey and later, Jeremy Ang Jones for just making them both INCREDIBLY insufferable. Never have I wanted to beat a fictional character to death with a metal chair more than those two. And also good job to Jeremy Ang Jones for bringing a humanity and different performance to Hermes that made me completely enjoy the character more.
Also, mandatory Joffrey slap.

thoughts this evening
saw a snippet of the new Fantastic Beasts trailer. never saw the other film (films?) and of course I will not be giving money to a certain tr*nzFOBE I will not name. but also I am sad because I did enjoy her vaguely plagiarized crap when I was a kid and my dad loved the first movie and that music makes me cry. I wish I could enjoy her work but I just can’t now. she spoiled everything.
my mother hates Cher
absolutely massive crush on Matt McCooey
Bartlett pears are nice (currently eating one)
I pretty much no longer enjoy alcohol and basically only enjoy a single shot of frozen Jägermeister every fortnight or longer
my student thinks Naruto is the best show ever so I’m thinking I should check it out so I know what the heck she’s talking about

After thinking it over for nearly a month now, I have to say that no I still do not like Fandaniel on any level. Emet-Selch remains the villain I love to hate and hate that I love while Fandaniel remains grating, annoying, and exasperating. Endwalker seems to shine for all the moments he ISN’T in. Him being around the story sounded like someone thought they could improve Navi by taping a cheese grater to her forehead...
Once again Levels 80 - 83 feels like they were meant to be 5.4 - 5.5 patches and the expansion doesn’t really start until afterwards. Like the last bit of tidying up before you can actually start putting out the appertizers for a party. But maybe I should applaud Matt McCooey for making me loathe no other villain more than Asahi sas fucking Brutus. With his almost “always whiny” pitched voice.
I don’t think I’ve held this much contempt and abhorration for a single character since Shinji FUCKING Mato.
