You’re never drinking again. 

It’s a mantra you repeat all morning, from the minute you’re dragged back into consciousness by the sound of construction down on the street, to when you finally pull from bed to dramatically slam the window shut, to the one-two-three-four times you end up with your knees on the bathroom mat and your head in the toilet. 

You’re far too old to be drinking like that on a nearly empty stomach, far too old to be drinking like that regardless. Okay, maybe that’s a tad dramatic, being a mostly single twenty something year old in downtown Miami. Mostly single in that every time you drank, your painfully unrequited crush on probably the one guy in all of Florida you couldn’t pull came out with a vengeance. 

Looking at your phone and all the unread texts you groan, realizing that the little girl who used to write ‘Mrs. Matty Tkachuk’ in all of her diaries came out in full force last night. 

Hyping yourself up, you type out and forward the message ‘What the hell did I do last night?’ to everyone you remember being out with you. Everyone, that is, except Matty himself. 

Brielle: Last night you told him you loved him 

It’s not atypical for you to be out on a Friday night, a group of your closest girlfriends at your side. Neither is it uncommon for the night to begin with the three of you taking thirst traps for the ‘gram before taking shots as the Uber pulls up. 

Cowboys is a favorite place, certainly not for the high class atmosphere or clientele—of which you’ll find neither. But who doesn’t love to let loose in an environment where the city boys of Miami don Stetsons and large belt buckles? And okay, maybe you’re a bit of a gambler—though, with money or love as the currency depends on the night. 

Tonight you’re pressing your luck, drinking enough to dull the edge and to keep you from overreacting to Matt’s response to the aforementioned Insta story. It’s a simple message, a string of fire emojis, but you’d be lying if you said you didn’t refresh the app until his username appeared as ‘Seen’ under the story. 

You don’t want to think it means anything when he shows up with a couple of his boys an hour into dancing with the girls. Cowboys is a popular place, evidenced by the crowded dance floor and the complete lack of personal space. So what Brielle was wearing a cowboy hat in one of the pictures and so what everyone and their mother knew this bar was your favorite place to spend Friday nights and so what you’d even tagged the place in a boomerang of your shot glasses five minutes after arriving. 

It didn’t mean anything—doesn’t mean anything. 

That thought doesn’t stop you from abandoning your friends the second you see the all too familiar head of curls.

“Hi Matty,” you greet, stumbling into him and sliding your hand around his waist. He feels solid beneath your fingertips, warm and secure and everything you’ve ever wanted. His resulting grin could build and topple empires, you think. 

But then reality all comes crashing down again as he slides his arm around your shoulders in turn, squeezing gently as he replies, “Hey, Kid.”

It’s the gentle reminder you’ll never be anything more than the annoying girl next door who used to follow him and Brady around like they were the greatest thing in the world. 

If he notices the way you deflate, he doesn’t say a word, though his hand rubs comfortingly at your shoulder for a moment until you can’t stand it anymore and go back to your friends and their sympathetic faces. 

The thing about you when you drink is the filter comes off. Normally you play your cards close to your chest, making it very hard for others to know your emotions. But a little vodka and you’re suddenly ready to face your feelings head on. 

It starts off innocently enough, an over exaggerated ‘I love you!’ when he brings you a drink without you having to ask. But then Georgia is all but holding you down to prevent you from running after him and professing your love. She doesn’t succeed, what with you running into his arms midway through the night anyway. 

He has that same grin on his face as you tell him how much you love him, and though he doesn’t mean it the way you do, he tells you that he loves you too just the same. 

Though you haven’t eaten in at least twelve hours, the thought of food makes your already upset stomach turn some more, and so you settle for making a cup of tea to get some fluids back in you. 

Not quite ready to face the music in terms of what your alcohol fueled self did last night, you ignore the unread messages to flip through some Insta stories. There’s cute pics and videos of you and your girls, you screen shot your favorites and tap away until you pause on a boomerang of Georgia and Brielle. It’s cute enough if you ignore the small stain by Bri’s collar where she’d lost some of the second tequila shot. Oh, and you looking up at Matthew with the most pathetic lovesick look on your face in the background. 

It unsettles your stomach further, and so you abandon all plans of tea—turning off your kettle and grabbing the water bottle you’d prepped for yourself before you left last night and taking up residence on the couch. 

Putting on a random movie from your childhood on Disney+, you lay back and cover yourself with your favorite quilt. Another wave of nausea washes over you, and so you prop yourself up with a few extra pillows and fall asleep sitting up. 

It mustn’t be more than half an hour of uninterrupted sleep before you’re pulled out of it by the incessant buzzing of your phone. It’s a set of four pictures of you on Matt’s lap and another incriminating tidbit from the night before. 

Georgia: Last night you told him you need him

“Shut up Sammy,” you glare, angrily poking his chest with your index finger. You’re grateful for the uncharacteristic change in nail shape at your last manicure, the stiletto tip serving as a makeshift weapon that actually makes him wince before laughing in your face. 

Truthfully, you’re not sure how the night got to this point—you and your girls hanging around a table with Matty and his boys. You’re not complaining though, not with how your bare legs pressed to Matty’s jeans or how his arm rests above your shoulders, fingertips brushing your skin now and then. 

Matt can spot a fight coming from a mile away, well versed in the language that is your rage from the countless years he was the source of it, pulling on your pigtails and breaking your barbies. 

“That’s not my name,” Sam rolls his eyes, rubbing his chest and stealing a swig of your beer. “Lightweight.”

He’s referring to your drunken state and the fact that Matt himself had to drag you to the table with the promise of a Bud Light if, and only if, you drank an entire glass of water. Narrowing your eyes, you begin to lunge at him again, stopped only by the force of Matt pulling you onto his lap and wrapping an arm around your waist, one hand resting on your stomach and the other on your bare knee. 

The effects of being wrapped up in him are almost instantaneous. Your rage quickly simmers, your body relaxes and you all but sink into the embrace. You quiet then, content to let the rest of the table do the talking for the moment while you memorize the feel of his arms. 

It’s a nervous habit to fiddle with the small charm around your neck, something you do unconsciously, not even noticing until it’s somehow come undone in your grasp. 

“Matty, I need you,” you whisper against the side of his face, watching his eyes darken and the way his Adam’s apple bobs as he swallows. He opens his mouth to speak but you interrupt with your fist coming at his face with your necklace clenched tightly within. 

He visibly relaxes, motioning for you to lean forward and swiping your hair to the side.You grab the strands of your hair after he takes the necklace from you, shivering as his cold hands drag across your skin. 

Georgia is shaking her head at you from across the table, having clearly read your lips and witnessed the little moment. You just smile and shrug at her before pressing a chaste kiss to the skin of Matt’s jaw. “Thank you.”

You’re pretty sure you’re dying. By the grace of some higher power, you haven’t seen the inside of your bathroom in a hot minute. Yes, you’ve finally moved past stage one of your hangover, however you’re not out of the woods yet. You’re dying a slow death on the couch—feeling yourself dip more and more into dangerous dehydration levels despite the giant water bottle on your coffee table that had been a gag gift from Matt last Christmas. 

Truthfully, the room is still a little spinny and your stomach still a little unsettled, but perhaps the worst of it all is the splitting headache and the sore throat. Both ailments make sense, you’re a yeller when you drink and you’re certain last night was no exception—even if the memories are slow to return to you. 

It’s not aggression, not really. It’s more that your body can’t contain all the emotions that you so carefully hide in your day to day life, and without the control that sobriety brings, you’re wont to let them all spill out. 

And really, you can’t linger on the what ifs too long, so you settle back in for another nap as an attempt to sleep off the symptoms of your poorly thought out night out with another movie playing as background noise. 

Elizabeth has just rejected Darcy when your phone lights up three times. 

sam: let’s just say you’re screwed if you ever wake up in vegas

you: fuck off sammy

sam: still not my name, lightweight 

sam: at least I didn’t propose last night 

“You know, Sammy,” you slur, no longer angry but keeping up the nickname in hopes that the table will think you are and Matty will let you stay in his arms. “You’re very lucky Liz agreed to marry you because other than the hockey thing you really have no redeeming qualities.”

“At least someone wanted to marry me,” he retorts not unkindly. 

“Matty would marry me,” you state confidently, tilting your head back to look up at the man beneath you. “Wouldn’t you, Matty?”

“Gonna have to get down on one knee, Kid,” Matty laughs, shaking your body slightly from where it leans against him. The dopiest smile crosses your face at the sound and you know you’re being far too obvious but you can’t help it. Matty laughing is your favorite sound, and happiness looks so good on him. There’s nothing you hate more than seeing him sad or upset. Nothing except dirty, sticky bar floors, which makes your next actions even more comical. 

Pulling from his arms for the first time in what feels like an eternity—not that you were complaining—you jump from the table and dramatically flop down to one knee. 

“Matthew—M-Matty,” you hiccup, keenly aware of the dozens of eyes on you and yet utterly uncaring of any of them except the icy blue you stare into now. “You’re my b-best friend. Marry me?”

The look he gives you is fond if frigid, not at all the passionate love declaration you were hoping for. Pouting deeply, you don’t move to pull up from the floor. “Is that a no?”

“It’s a ‘not right now’,” he answers, getting up himself and pulling you up by your armpits. You wrap around him like a vine, not even protesting as he leads you to the bar to grab another glass of water and some appetizers for the table. 

God, you really regret asking about last night. Maybe it was better to live in beautiful, blissful ignorance — if you never remembered all the embarrassing behavior did it really happen? 

Unfortunately your vibrating phone simply refuses to let that happen. 

brielle: and you totally ate shit on the pavement leaving the bar last night 

That certainly explains the dull ache of your biceps, having caught the weight of you alongside breaking your fall. Luckily that appears to be the extent of the damage, given you can wiggle all of your fingers and toes and no other part of your body stings. 

Just your ego is bruised. 

“Why would we go home?” you ask, gesturing wildly at the emptying bar around you as though it were still the hopping venue of an hour ago. 

“Cause the bar staff would like to go home too,” Brielle explains kindly. 

“So we go to the next bar? I’m sure there’s somewhere still open, it’s only midnight!” 

Matty’s arm is heavy and warm and secure as it wraps around your shoulder to guide you to the exit. “I’ve already called us an Uber.”

You preen at the mention of an ‘us’ between you and Matt, suddenly docile and calm, allowing him to guide you outside. 

Far too preoccupied with the weight of him, you miss the broken piece of sidewalk and subsequently toe pick the crack, ending up face down on the pavement. 

Matt is quick, pulling you to your feet with ease and examining your face and upper body for damage. “You alright?”

“If I say no, will you kiss it better?” you crack back, only half joking. 

Shaking his head at your antics, he guides you into the waiting car before sliding in beside you. 

You’re quite content to lean your head on his shoulder the whole drive home, arm curled around his before letting him lead you to your bed.

A joke about inviting him into your bed doesn’t leave your lips, momentarily mesmerized by the gentle way he tucks you in, the soft press of his lips to your forehead. 

Could it possibly get worse, you wonder. 

Matty: let me up?

He’s got a key for emergencies, and although you usually appreciate that he doesn’t misuse it, in this case you almost wish he would let himself in. 

It would give you some extra time to compose yourself and—to be quite honest—you do yet harbor a little fear that getting vertical might have you running for the bathroom once again. 

Neither of those things happen—he doesn’t let himself in and you don’t throw up on your way to the door. You make quick work of the lock before opening the door to reveal Matthew looking as well rested as you’ve ever seen him. 

The contrast between the two of you is likely a stark difference, but his face doesn’t give anything away if he’s thinking it too. 

His first words to you are simple, full of care and compassion. “How are you feeling?”

“Like I got hit by a bus that then backed right over me again,” you answer truthfully. 

His responding giggle makes your insides feel warm and you can only hope you don’t have the tell tale lovesick look on your face. There’s a moment of quiet contemplation—his chest visibly puffs up and then deflates as he takes a steeling breath. 

“You said some things last night,” he says and you feel your blood run ice cold in your veins. 

You attempt to deflect. “I say a lot of things, Matty. Especially when I’ve gotten into the Tito’s.”

He shakes his head and takes a step towards you. “Last night you said you loved me.”

“Of course I love you, you’re my best friend.” It’s not a lie, not completely anyway. You love him. He’s your best friend. So what if that love you have for him is something a little bit more than friendship? 

He shakes his head again, little ringlets of curls shaking with the motion. “Didn’t sound friendly. You said you needed me.” His voice is rough, tone something heavy. 

“To fix my necklace, Matty. What are you doing?” Your voice in response is a little wild—short clipped sentences spoken in quick succession.  

He appears frustrated. Not necessarily at you, you don’t think, but it’s clear on his face.  “That’s not—You said you wanted to marry me, got down on one knee even. 

“I was drunk, it’s not that deep.” 

He takes the remaining steps toward you, crowding your space and boxing you in with his arms. Yet you know with one word he would back off if you asked. 

You don’t ask. 

“But what if it is? What if I said that I love you too, that I need you too? That the only person who I’ve ever thought about marrying was you?”

“Matty, what are you doing?” you ask lowly, heart pounding so loud you fear he might hear it. 

“Something I should have done a long time ago,” he murmurs and leans in until your lips barely touch. 

It's the invitation you feel you’ve waited a lifetime for. No amount of doubt or hesitation or uncertainty is going to stop you from wrapping yourself around him and deepening the kiss. 

It’s soft and sweet—two decades of buildup, of a beautiful friendship turned something more. It’s you and Matty the way it was always supposed to be—the way it was always going to end up.

And we're back for good people! Now that I have a summer break I can finally properly proceed with the tournament. No more hiatuses for now (except for a tiny one which should last a week but you won't even notice). This shall be a new master post for now, but here's the link to the old one for those who are still confused about what this tournament is. A piece of Trivia: All match-ups were randomized except for the battles between Amity and Emira, and Willow and Edric. Originally Amity and Willow were to fight in the first round but I decided to change it. Since I considered the first round to be just qualifying for the top 8, I thought it would be unjust if either Amity or Willow would lose this early despite their skill. So I swapped them with the twins so the match-ups like Amity vs Willow, Edric vs Emira, Willow vs Emira, or Amity vs Edric can actually feel earned instead of given.

As you may or may not remember, the first round is composed of qualifying matches on who gets advanced to the second round. After that is finished, all the losers will participate in the battle Royale to decide who's the strongest. I did say that the winner of the Battle Royale may not advance further in the tournament, but I may change my mind about it if you convince me to give them a shot. The battles shall include a poll first to vote and propaganda under the cut on both battlers. However some participants have insanely long lists of capabilities, so this shall also be a Masterpost not just to official and unofficial matchups of the first round (the second round will get its own post, granted it would be an updated version of this one) but also all the links to the pages of all the participants and what they're capable of. Of course, the posts about battlers' capabilities may also feature links if they're too big. But anyway, here you go folks, meet your champions and place your bets

The last weekend of SRO Motorsports America racing in 2024 receives a huge boost in star power as world-renowned actor Keanu Reeves will compete in this weekend’s Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Cup North America finale – his first motor race in over 14 years.

Reeves will drive the #92 Eagles Canyon Racing by Fast Track Toyota GR86 in a pair of sprint races on Saturday and Sunday, 5/6 October. The car will feature a red and black livery promoting his graphic novel, BRZRKR.

The Canadian actor is an avid enthusiast of motorsport. Reeves was the presenter of the four-part documentary Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story and has been a guest of honour in the paddocks of F1, MotoGP, and IndyCar throughout the years.

Reeves drove in the 2009 and 2010 editions of the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race at Long Beach, winning the Celebrity class in 2009 and receiving a promotion to the Pro category the following year. That was the last time Reeves has run in an organised motor race.

Since then, Reeves has gone on to star in the John Wick series of action films, reprised his role as Neo in The Matrix Resurrections, and published the first chapter of BRZRKR in 2021 alongside co-writer Matt Kindt and illustrator Ron Garney.

Reeves is one of two celebrity drivers competing at Indianapolis this weekend, part of a 34-car field.

Eagles Canyon and Fast Track’s other celebrity driver is Cody Jones from the action sports and entertainment troupe Dude Perfect, which has over 60 million subscribers on YouTube.

Nicknamed “Tall Man”, the 6’6″ Jones’ sanctioned racing debut in the #29 GR86 was the prize for winning a go-kart racing challenge at this year’s Formula One Australian Grand Prix against three of his fellow troupe members.

Reeves and Jones will be pitted against a strong field of drivers young and old, including the newly-crowned GR Cup North America Champion Gresham Wagner.

Wagner, the driver of the #5 Copeland Motorsports GR86, clinched the series championship last round at Barber Motorsports Park. At the Brickyard, Wagner will look to add to his eight wins on the season – before heading to Road Atlanta to try and win the Mazda MX-5 Cup championship.

Second place in the championship is still up for grabs between Wagner’s team-mate, Westin Workman (another driver running dual GR Cup/MX-5 Cup campaigns) and Spike Kohlbecker of TechSport Racing. Workman enters the final weekend of the season six points ahead of Kohlbecker.

Jaxon Bell, the son of 2015 IMSA GTD Champion and 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours winner Townsend Bell, is fourth in the championship.

Another guest driver of note is Miki Koyama from Japan, driving the #75 Hattori Motorsports GR86 in partnership with Japan’s all-female KYOJO Cup Series.

Koyama, the inaugural KYOJO Cup champion in 2017 and 2018, became the first woman to win the FIA Formula Regional Japanese Championship title in 2022 – and last week, driving a Lexus RC F GT3, she became the first woman to take overall victory in a Super Taikyu Series race since 1993.

Koyama is one of four women in the field, joining Mia Lovell, Jade Avedisian, and Maddie Aust. Lovell is the series’ top female driver  (10th in overall points and the top-ranked woman in nine out of 12 races) – and Avedisian, a Toyota-backed prospect of the open-wheel oval circuit, finished second in last weekend’s BC39 sprint car race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway dirt track.

- The queen didn’t sweat at all for this match! After things calmed down, though, we caught Clea comforting Jericho. That was very sweet of them, aw

- On the other hand, Matt couldn’t help but mock his rival’s lack of self-respect when he joined the Avengers smh. They’re in good terms, though!

- Jane is not very pleased with the numbers she did on this match but she can accept defeat more easily than her rival (Tony is the one that makes things awkward after all).

- That was a VERY HARD MATCH. 50/50 three times in 24 hours, leading champion constantly switching places and my heart on the balance! In the end, though, Mordo fled as soon as he was beaten. Still, we’ve got exclusive footage of the very moment he tried to take revenge on T’Challa. It didn’t go well for Mordo. (please pretend this is 616, there isn’t one single panel of Mordo and T’Challa interacting, thank you)

- And speaking of kings... Only DOOM shall prevail! The troubled and long history of these exes didn’t represent an issue for the king of Latveria. Word says they will end up fighting again at some point, like they always do. “It’s part of their dynamics,” says Stephen.

- Funny enough, Victor’s rival is also fighing for Stephen’s heart! Wanda had the advantage at first, but Reed didn’t give up and won the match in the end! Unlike *THAT* variant, Wanda accepted her defeat and left just fine.

- WONGSWEEP IS REAL! Valkyrie was upset at first but she’s mature enough to accept that Wong and Stephen have a long shared history. They remain frens and (non)teammates!

- Lastly, the Surfer couldn’t beat the god of mischief! Loki is basically bragging about how magical he and Stephen are as a couple.

When we spoke to Louis Tomlinson ahead of the release of his Number 1 album Faith in the Future last year, he couldn't have been more complimentary about collaborators DMA'S.

The Sydney rock three-piece - comprising Johnny Took, Tommy O'Dell and Matt Mason - inspired tracks like All This Time on Louis' second solo record after striking up a relationship with the One Direction star back in 2019; and the band would 'love' to see a team-up soon.

Chatting exclusively to Official Charts around the release of their brand-new LP How Many Dreams?, DMA'S guitarist Johnny explains how Louis influenced a track on their 2020 album THE GLOW.

"We got in the studio with Louis the first time we met him," says Johnny. "We sat around playing music; we played him some tracks off THE GLOW and played him the demo of Cobracaine.

"He’s obviously got a really great ear for pop music – and music in general – and he was like ‘maybe you should get to the chorus quicker.’ Just a little comment like that really helped. It was a good call, as a structural thing. We thought ‘yeah, we should get to the chorus quicker,’ and it ended up sticking."

When we tell him we admire DMA'S openness to working with an artist like Louis where many rock bands might have pre-judged his pop beginnings, Johnny explains: "When you’ve reached the heights that Louis’ reached, you’d have to be a little bit ignorant or naïve not to realise how much amazing stuff he’s picked up along the way. That’s my favourite thing.

"If I get into the studio with somebody who’s 10 years younger or 10 years older than me, I learn something new every time. That’s the great thing about any musicians getting together in a room; you just start talking and discover things through that discussion.

"Louis’ an amazing guy. He put me on the door for his gig in Melbourne, and I went backstage. We’d just played that same venue a few months before, and it was great to see him in Sydney. He’s just such a good guy. I love the way he champions young musicians. I really respect that.

"Louis’ really cool, I don’t have a bad word to say about that guy. He’s an amazing songwriter, too."

And Louis isn't the only 1D lad to have impressed Johnny and his DMA'S bandmates. Liam Payne's also an artist the group admire.

"It was the same when I first met Liam," says Johnny. "He was the same as Louis; they’re these guys that are up on this level, but they love guitar music and music in general. They’re open to championing young bands, those bands that are smaller than them, and lifting them up. They’re passionate about the music and that’s what it’s all about; everyone lifting everyone up."

"I’d love to," beams Johnny. "That’d be awesome."

Speaking to Official Charts about his admiration of the Aussie trio last year, Louis said: "I loved DMA’s last album THE GLOW, which Stuart Price produced. That has dance elements in it but was done in a really authentic way.

"It doesn’t feel remotely contrived or like a f**king made-for-radio pop-dance hybrid. That was really food for thought for me throughout the process.

"They’re amazing. I’ve been lucky enough to meet them a few times. Johnny [Took] came to one of my shows in Australia. They’re just really f**king lovely lads, great blokes. They’re an amazing live band."

From Championship to Champion’s League Jamaal Lascelles is the Newcastle Club Captain and oh my goodness I am not reasonable about him.

He has been club captain since he was I think 22 he is now thirty. Is it unseemly if I describe him as “a strapping lad”.

Newcastle likes their big number nines but we like our big defenders as well.

Newcastle has a “leadership group” Jamaal the club captain and generally on field captain as well (for a while when Sven Botman came he lost his starting spot and it was frequently Kieran Trippier). The rest of the leadership group is Trippier, Callum Wilson, Dan Burn and Matt Ritchie. I think that is more common now? So they divvy up the kids and the players and they are the ones in charge of the dressing room… look I’m a feeble woman who cannot catch or throw. I’m not going to pretend to understand the inner workings of professional sports.

Look obviously Kieran is Kieran but they share well

The Captains armband switch *swoon*. Though honestly, for another time but Kieran was a bit off the weather when he wasn’t captain. I think he likes be able to gasbag at the refs.

Scored a beautiful header off an Anthony Gordon cross. One of those players who is more excited for others scoring.

Anyway he got the captaincy at 22 because he was willing to stand up to older players he thought weren’t giving their all.

Digimon Partner: Roxy Edition

(edit: Roxy never clicked enter and this was in our drafts so i'm sharing it) So since Abayomi and Princess did one of these, I felt like I would as well. Similarly to Princess I will just be doing one digivolution lines primarily because the typical default Line for the Rookie is pretty much perfect as well, but I wanted to have fun with it. So lets begin

ROOKIE/CHILD: Gabumon!

When we were a kid, we gravitated towards the character of T.K(and Kari but we kept that a secret.) and while T.K wasn't Gabumons partner... Gabumon was the partner of Matt/Yamato, T.K's older brother. So we tend to think of Gabumon as a protector and really close to us. Given that Gabumons default line of Garurumon>Weregarurumon>Metalgarurumon goes into a wolf theme with some frost elements, it also seemed like a natural fit for me. That being said, I will come up with a new evolution line that represents the protective nature to reflect that nature, and my love of warriors/paladins/knights, while still keeping the color scheme and and even the Wolf theme for the most part!

Champion/Adult: Wolfmon/Lobomon

Wolfmon sticks to the wolf theming and introduces swordplay. Wolfmon also has some other great connections. Wolfmon is the spirit evolution for the Spirit of life, which was held by Koji in digimon Frontiers (a series where the humans become the digimon). This is fun because Kojis arc involves reconnecting with his brother, which is kind of a nice connection as to why Gabumon was a natural choice for me. ULTIMATE/PERFECT: Knightmon

Knightmon loses the wolf motif and focuses more on the armored knight aspect but I think it already builds on the direction Wolfmon was going. It doubles down on the warrior and protective aspects that I feel so connected to. This also connects to the T.K Yamato connection that is important to me. Knightmons shield carries the crest of Hope on it, which was the crest associated with T.K.

And now its time to return to the wild... MEGA/ULTIMATE: Cres Garurumon

Cresgarurumon is what this has all been building up to. Cres-garurumon is first a callback to the traditional line of Gabumon(and in fact Gabumon did digivolve into it in the 2020 version of Digimon adventure) but it also builds on those knightly aspects of the digivolution line I shared here. The color scheme also I feel works nicely throughout the line, the yellows, greys/silvers, and purple can be seen throughout the entire line! each stage also focuses on a different fighting style!! Dual wielding, sword and board, and two handers.

Lady Amangeuax Epicée du Peche - I'm thinking either Sorcerer (Divine Soul) or Wizard (not sure of the subclass). She could also be a Rogue (Assassin), but that's more of a guess than an actual prediction, based on the dagger in her thing

Karna Solara - Rogue (Arcane Trickster or Soulknife) or Ranger (Gloomstalker), I definitely don't think I'm right for the second one, I'm not sure if they're doubling up on classes from the original ACOC (Liam became a Gloomstalker ranger later in the series)

Bishop Raphaniel Charlock - If he is a cleric I will legit eat a rock/hj. I don't think he's a cleric at all, Brennan is really good at messing with us. He's probably a Wizard, and I'm thinking either Conjuration, Order of Scribes, or Chronolorgist (I could so see someone taking Matt's homebrew subclasses). Although he could also be a massive mishmash of classes - I'm thinking Chornorgist Wizard, Celestial Warlock and maybe Divine Soul Sorcerer? A level or two in Fighter? Bard even???? (edit: what if he's a monk. what if he's a monk)

Thane Delissandro Katzon - Paladin (Oath of Conquest or Oath of Glory) or Fighter (Champion or Battle Master) or Barbarian (Order of the Zealot????) Once again, I'm not sure if Lou will take Barbarian a second time (he played a Barbarian in the original ACOC), but considering his lack of armor I'm going w Barbarian

Colin Provolone - Alright, I was wrong with this with Pib -- Swords Bard, Swashbuckler Rogue or Samurai Fighter. All three would fit him quite well! Also; Whispers Bard. I was also thinking Warlock (Hexblade) but I think that would be too close to Lapin Cadbury from the original ACOC

Explanation:  Even the title sounds like it’s addressed to Reid, I don’t know what more you want.

Never Love An Anchor by The Crane Wives  {Actually about Diana and William Reid)

Initial Inspiration: On some level, I think I always understood/That these hands of mine were clumsy, not clever.   And I tried to do the best that I could/But try as I might I couldn’t bring myself to hold you.  

Explanation:  This is Diana and William regarding Reid, with admittedly a more sympathetic reading of William.  I love complicated family dynamics & these three more than fit the bill.

Explanation:  Needed something not wholly depressing, and this really includes the whole BAU when you think about it, just. . . Some more than others.

Explanation:  Do I really need to enumerate the revolving door of more-or-less important people in Reid’s life?

Explanation:  Although accurate for Dilaudid Reasons, considering the prevalence of mental illness and emotional turmoil Reid has, it also fits those.

Initial Inspiration:  No specific verse per se, but how could i pass up the title?  

Explanation: This list was too depressing and despite everything, Reid is pretty cheerful.  At least, when nothing’s happening.  Besides, he’s Mister Magic Tricks, and Intellect-Wrought Pseudo Miracles, it seemed appropriate.

Explanation: I feel like this is reasonably accurate throughout many of Reid’s early endeavors.  Going to Caltech?  Sure.  The FBI?  Absolutely.  The way he comes into his own over the course of things?  Yeah.  

Migraine by Twenty One Pilots 

Initial Inspiration: Waging my wars behind my face and above my throat/ . . But I know we’ve made it this far, kid.

Explanation:  Like Magic, the title says a lot, but also, the words my god.  The chorus obviously fits, and a decent amount of the rest, but the vibe and the fact “Kid” is still one of Reid’s nicknames from the BAU, even towards the end.  I can’t.

Indie Update Corner

Post-Wrestival edition! The Wrestival is an annual event where a ton of indies gather at the White Eagle to put on an absurd amount of shows. There are also awards presented. Relevant details for RP are as follows:

@prizecityog - Alec was the IWTV Champion for 100+ days. Krule (a Friday the 13th style 7 foot monster) was formerly the IWTV champ, but never technically lost it as he mysteriously disappeared. There's a whole lot associated with this storyline, but the gist is he's big and scary, and is now aligned with Matt Tremont, whom Alec won the title from. Last night, Alec vs Krule in a fans bring the weapons match happened... and Alec lost. After he lost, Tremont came out and poured gasoline all over the ring, Alec, himself and Krule. They were run out before they could light the place up. WARHORSE, who has been going through an identity crisis, led the save then told Alec after that now he knows what it feels like to be WARHORSE.

On a happier note, Alec won IWTV Wrestler of the Year! Lol.

@bobbyisthegoatest - Bobby wrestled in a literally insane amount of matches this weekend. He is tired.

@dragoisthebest - Dante was in a couple matches. Most notable was the intergender match, in which he acted like- to be quite frank- a complete douchebag, complete with mocking the women, flirting with them, yelling a lot, berating the referee, and spanking one of the ladies with his frat paddle. But he got his comeuppance because he ate the pin in the end, and also got beat up after the match.

At CAP earlier last week, Dante wouldn't let his VBU tag partner, Jack Tomlinson, cheat to have them win the titles. This is significant because they were both always heels, and Dante gave up his own title shot so they could have one together. When Dante eventually gave in, it was too late and he got pinned. He and Jack were arguing on Twitter yesterday, and Jack was pretty darn mean.

@yourfavoritepopstar and @spxrklecity - Neither were at the Wrestival (Becca is injured, idk where Aaron was), but they did win an award for match of the year for their match against Miracle Generation, the current IWTV tag Champs.

As the airport fills with more disgruntled passengers on delayed flights, he thinks maybe they can make the best of it. And the more he gets to know her, he thinks maybe it's the best thing that could have happened to him.

Something is off. His girlfriend has been obsessing over finding a certain holiday song on the radio but won't even tell him this one. As they get closer to the holidays, she seems increasingly down about it. He's determined to put a smile back on her face again.

When she approaches AEW's newly crowned Heavyweight Champion to sign some figures, he flat-out turns her down and patronizingly suggests she buy them on eBay. She doesn't let his bad attitude deter her, though and suddenly MJF is left feeling something he hasn't felt before - guilt.

Warnings: None. They do go to a children's hospital, but with no real details - but again, want to warn for it just in case it's a sensitivity for folks.

A sporting account… on Tumblr?

Bit of an experiment, this. Hopefully not a mistake.

Hello. I’m Rafael. I play boccia, which is a Paralympic sport (e.g., a sport which is in the Paralympics, like goalball, wheelchair rugby, etc). It’s a cousin of pétanque, lawn bowls, curling, and all those other sports whose ancient ancestor is someone going “I bet I can get my rock closer to that pebble over there than you can get yours”. Boccia is played indoors, in a space almost exactly the same size as a badminton court, as individuals, in pairs, or teams of 3. In the UK the overwhelming emphasis is on individual play, although pairs and teams competition is growing in global significance.

I’m a member of the newly reformed England squad, run by our governing body Boccia England, and I’m classified as a BC3 athlete - that means that instead of throwing or kicking the balls, we roll them down a ramp instead. The ramp is positioned, and balls set up on it for us, by a Ramp Operator - for me, that’s either one of my personal assistants, or increasingly, my partner. The RO isn’t allowed to see what’s going on on the court, they have to keep their back to it at all times during matchplay - they’re only allowed to physically help, not tactically help.

Playing boccia changed my life - I’ve always been a competitive person but until I discovered the sport in 2012, aged 27, had not only no access to participate in sports but no idea that a sport I could meaningfully play even existed. My sporting career is a direct legacy of the 2012 London Paralympics; it was the presentation of the Boccia UK Squad at the opening ceremony which resulted in the penny dropping. I was at my first club session within a few weeks, and attended my first competition a few weeks after that - I won a bronze medal, and was hooked.

My breakout year was the 2018-2019 season; our last complete season before the pandemic brought everything to a screeching halt. That year I zoomed my way through the Heathcoat Cup national finals - our ‘second division’ competition, a precious space for beginner and improving players to learn their trade without getting steamrollered by the pros - which qualified me directly into the BE Cup Finals, which is the de facto England national championship. I won my pool, unbeaten, and ultimately came 4th, which saw me begin the 2019-2020 season ranked 5th in England, behind two international athletes and two England players.

After that came a funny couple of years; half a season and two bronze medals in BE Cup Qualifiers before the pandemic stopped everything, and then a heavily modified “Back to Boccia” season for 2021-2022, at which I won the gold medal at two of the three Back To Boccia Cup events, went and won the qualifying tournament for the German National Boccia Championships in Düsseldorf - broadening my horizons as a dual national - before being selected for my very first Boccia UK Challenger. The Challengers are events run by BUK to provide the UK national squad, and selected others from the home countries, with additional formal competition experience. At the Gloucester Challenger there were 4 Boccia UK-supported athletes; two men from the World Class Programme and two women being supported in their development with coaching and world-class equipment, including Paralympian Scott McCowan, who had come 4th in Tokyo just nine months earlier. I beat all four UK athletes, and ultimately came second to my England colleague Matt Berry. That silver medal is my greatest achievement, to date. Matt and I followed that up with another one-two finish at the special, pandemic-edition competition run within the talent pathway as a substitute for the England national championships, which resulted in my being selected for my very first UK National Championships, where I lost only to the two McCowan brothers, Paralympians both, and ultimately came 6th. Just a fortnight later I was in Berlin, where I won the silver medal in the German National Championships.

I’ve just kicked off the 2022-2023 season with a very solid 5th place at the first BE Cup qualifier competition, and I’m off up to the SMILE Boccia Open tomorrow, to train up a shiny new personal assistant as a ramp operator. Wish us luck!
