Endlessly amused by an au of my Ordinary Five AU wherein Five doesn't figure out he has powers and doesn't time travel, so Leonard finds Reginald's journal and tries to manipulate Five like he did with Viktor.
It fails completely in every way because not only is Five suspicious by nature, he's also somewhere on the aroace spectrum and finds his advances annoying af.
...
Leonard: *shows Five a sculpture he made... of him... after a day of knowing him*
Five: Never contact me again, creep.
#tua#five hargreeves#harold jenkins#ordinary five au#does that mean five tutors kids in math for extra cash 😭 that's so cute actually

So you know how sometimes you do something as a kid or a teenager and you think it's totally normal and then the memory pops into your head as an adult and it suddenly recontextualizes the whole thing? Anyway shout out to my super nice high school math teacher, who also had the misfortune of being A. the first teacher to give me a syllabus that (crucially) included point totals and how grades were calculated B. scored tests as like 75% of the grade and C. allowed us to take tests as a group All those factors combined into two incidents that, in retrospect, he was in no way expecting to deal with but teenage me thought were totally normal (behind a read more because it got long)
The first was when I stopped doing math homework not long into the school year and he stopped me after class to (very kindly, very gently) ask me if I was okay and if everything was okay at home, because I'd stopped doing my homework but he knew I knew the material. I said "I stopped doing the homework because I crossed the threshold on the point totals on the rubric where I no longer need to turn in any homework to get an A." He paused, kinda blinked at me, and said "That only works if you get 100% on every test" I kind of stared back at him in blank incomprehension, and was like "Yes????" "What happens if you don't get 100% on a test?" "Well. I do get 100% on every test, but if I ever miss a question, you offer extra credit questions on every test" He didn't know what to say to that lol The other time was when he announced future tests would be allowed to be worked on in groups of three or four, and I walked up to him after class and said "Any group I am in will be getting 100% on the tests. That is unfair to the other groups, and unfair to the people in my group, who will not get a chance to test their skills because I am not risking my grade on their math abilities. Can I take the tests solo?" Again, teenage me thought this was a perfectly normal, logical thing to do, but looking back as an adult like oh my gosh there is no way my poor math teacher was expecting to have to deal with that. He did let me take math tests solo I tried the "calculate points then stop doing the homework" thing in my English class the next year and it did not work because that teacher had an "extra credit doesn't count if you haven't done all your assignments" policy :(
#the person behind the yarn#my secret is out a was a math person in school#it's not a secret lol I've offered to help people with math homework here before#but yeah! in school I did not consider myself creative at all and was all about math and science#but especially math! all my math teachers pretty much since math class started being a separate class#very quickly just moved me to the back of the class and let me read through class#except when other kids needed help learning math#and I would tutor them? idk it worked#I gave off such intense goody two shoes energy in school that I got away with a LOT#the english extra credit thing is pretty much the only thing I did not get away with in school#but that's a different story lol

accidentally deleted the ask from kitty anon elaborating on tutor!changbin but it’s most definitely on my mind ><. something about buff men in glasses.. and he’s smart too!! i wouldn’t doubt that he’d let you sit on his lap, dick buried inside you while he lectures you through the material, thorough and patient as if he wasn’t burning to rock his hips against you. his large arms would encage your own body, guiding you through the lesson, and it feels as safe as it gets having his chest pressed onto your back, his voice sultry and low against your ear.
on the opposite end, if he’s got the time to spare, he wouldn’t hesitate to tease you. bin likes to have his two fingers buried deep in your cunt, thumb just barely rubbing at your clit, all while he’s reading the questions off the pages like nothing was wrong. gotta study at the campus library? he’s already ahead of the game, asking you to slip a vibrator into your panties that he’d left at the lowest temperature, gradually increasing the speed and intensity each time you’d get something wrong. your head would be pounding by the time you manage to complete the assingment, and changbin can tell how much you’re holding back.
expect to have his cock pounding into you while you’re bent over the table when the session is done, allowing you to render brain dead on his dick after studying so hard. he’ll fuck you until he knows you’ve got nothing on your mind except for the feeling of him stretching you out, watching himself slip in and out of your cunt through the fogged lenses that rested on the tip of his nose. binnie loves telling you how proud he is of you all while his thrusts push his cum from your hole, letting it run down your thighs while his large hands grasp your waist. he takes a lot of pride knowing that your marks always end up significantly higher, though he refuses to tutor anyone except you.
#struggled so bad in math earlier today and all i could think of was how sexy changbin is#like i love a man that understands math…. ooo you want me so bad#he’s just SO handsome in glasses too ><#my life would be so much easier if i had changbin as a tutor#changbin x reader#changbin smut#skz x reader#skz smut#changbin imagines#changbin drabbles#skz imagines#skz drabbles#stray kids smut

love when this is referred to as the gifted kid website. shockingly my mental disorders made me mentally disordered and school never really vibed with that so. couldn’t be me
#ppl always talking about their whatever grade reading level and how many books they’d read as kids and im just over here like🧍🏽#I’ve never been actually bad at english or reading but I couldn’t focus on reading books to save my fucking life#I hated those sheets where you had to read like a certain number of books or whatever over the course of a semester or the year or whatever#my GATE test scores for english were super high but my math was bad enough that I never qualified#and adhd made me not even perform well in English half the time because I couldn’t pay attention I couldn’t read long books I couldn’t turn#in my assignments or if I did they were late and etc etc etc#don’t get me started with math#I was the worst in my class in third grade at minute math and never made it to the levels of minute math my classmates did#(they posted results on the wall for everyone to see)#and in 6th grade I was put into an additional remedial math class#throughout middle-high school I was at the level of most classmates in terms of the classes I took but that’s only because I was not allowe#to fail and was put through absolute fucking hell with a billion tutors and grueling hours of extra work from them and blah blah blah#like I remember how I felt in those tutoring sessions and half the time I actually wanted to cry.#I didn’t start doing solidly genuinely Good in school until senior year of high school.#not coincidentally around the same time I started taking adderall I think#I had accommodations by 9th grade but they didn’t do that much except for the function that let me turn in assignments up to 2 days late#without penalty. which i had teachers question sometimes and i had to pull the Yeah it’s Literally Against The Law to not allow me this car#anyway. point is. i was never in the gate program and most of my friends were and it was mostly adhd related#adhd is considered such a quirky nothing disorder nowadays that I don’t even like mentioning I have it really. because what people think of#when I say the term is Not what i actually dealt with and made school torturous and made my parents lash out at me for things and etc etc#depression and dysphoria did not help either. but I digress#I’m not sure why im making this post#kibumblabs

What do you teach Pocket? I picture you teaching math.
Not math, social studies! Though I do have a tendency to end up math tutoring more than I expect lol. Writing too
#genuinely i can't keep up with the senior math class except their stats unit#but sometimes i can help the juniors with their math#I've taught econ before but i don't this year#currently I've got sections of research and interdisciplinary writing#a philosophy/humanities in the real world section#and a Post Highschool Path Prep section of juniors (yeah that's actually what the school calls it)#PPP is new for me but it's basically an ACT/SAT tutoring class the first semester and a career interest class second semester#the other classes are for seniors and my school requires they take one of them since they're writing focused and generally our kids could#use more writing practice#so yeah mostly social studies and writing these days#tho technically i have to be able to pass muster for every subject on the SAT and ACT to tutor those juniors#so a smidge of science and math too#I'm a little all over the place this year#pocket talks to people#anon

I had a math tutoring thing yesterday (as I do each Friday bc I missed 3 months of school so obviously I'm cramming all of that knowledge into my brain within a few weeks, but ANYWAYS) and my math teacher's kid was there. He's elementary aged and spent most of his time just vibing in the background/climbing on chairs and such.
Then, out of absolutely no where, we heard his squeaky little voice going "If Earth's core was gone, what would happen?". Cue the next 5-10 minutes being a very in depth conversation between my teacher, her son, and me about all the possible consequences. They were using big science-y words (none of which I remember, so don't ask) and really diving into the question while I mentally fumbled around, trying to remember even the most simple of space terms that had ever occupied the chaotic landscape of my mind.
The kid later also started doing the problems that I was working on (we were doing sequences) and while he's too young to understand exponents, he was multiplying large numbers without a calculator just to be included.
TLDR: my teacher's kid is smarter than me and made for some great conversations

“Did you have breakfast today?” Aziraphale asked.
“No, my uncle says that Spartans don’t eat breakfast.”
“And Xenophon often talks about how important it is for warriors to eat breakfast. My dear child, the fact that your uncle persists in trying to raise you as a Spartan means that it will probably stunt your growth if you don’t eat more. So please, do eat up; there’s plenty more where this came from.”
“Menippos,” Alexander began, using the pseudonym that Aziraphale had adopted as the boy’s tutor, “Why is it that food always seems to taste better with you?”
“Hmm, I suppose perhaps mathematics sharpens the mind which sharpens the hunger which then sharpens the tastebuds?” Aziraphale demurred, handing the boy a peeled boiled egg, bread with slices of hard cheese and apple, and honey-soaked teganitai, the edges of the little cakes still crisp from the griddle.
“It’s also warmer too.”
“I certainly wouldn’t know,” Aziraphale said as he gently brought up the temperature of the air in the unheated room around them another fraction of a degree. It had stopped storming but the ground outside was still covered in drifts of snow and ice was slicked in patches all over the palace courtyards and colonnades. Despite all that no one gave the child more than one piece of clothing – a warm chiton to be fair – but not more than that. It offended the angel’s sensibilities; in this unusually cold weather everyone had bundled up but here, this boy was hardly clothed and those small growing humans had so much more trouble regulating their body temperatures.
“Thanks. You know, I don’t think I’m supposed to be eating this. Especially the teganitai. Leonidas says-”
Aziraphale frowned; that particular uncle who was in charge of the boy’s education was not only unpleasant but harsh in his methods and discipline. “Don’t you listen to him. Listen to me.”
“Yes, you say that but you’re soft and you’re not a warrior and you don’t even go to the palaestra. The only people who don’t exercise regularly are slaves and women.”
“...perhaps but my child, at my age and with my...erm, bad hip, I have been advised by the doctors to take it easy. Especially in cold weather, which stiffens up the joints and muscles.”
“I guess that’s all right then.” Alexander ate as fast as he could, as if he were afraid to be seen eating. “I don’t like Leonidas either, but he’s making me tough. So I can be strong when I’m a man.”
“Child, you’re already strong,” Aziraphale said fondly.
“I guess. But not strong enough,” Alexander frowned, finishing off the rest of the boiled eggs that were still just warm enough to steam faintly in the cold air, savoring the creamy yolks that were never over- nor under-cooked.
“Strength isn’t everything,” Aziraphale said, cleaning up the eggshells, trying to keep it so that there was less for the slaves to do. “After all, wit, wisdom, and knowledge go a long way. As with Odysseus.”
“Speaking of knowledge, Menippos, do you know anything about the movement of the stars?”
“Erm, as it relates to geometry? Well, we would have to learn how to draw ellipses first, I suppose, which is rather similar to a circle except instead of one fixed point there are two-”
“No, I mean. You know, the important stuff about stars. How to divine stuff from them. Figure out the future. Or what other people are planning.”
“Ah.” Aziraphale took a deep breath. “That stuff about stars. My dear child, I am not an expert in this sort of study, not in the slightest.”
“Oh.” Alexander sighed, disappointed. “I’m ready to try that circle thing again.”
“Good. Here, let’s smooth out this sand and I’ll hold the central stick, and you move the stick with the rope attached to make the points. Notice that as points grow closer and closer to each other, it essentially fills out the line of the circle. So we may think of the line that forms the circle as an infinite collection of points. In fact, this principle extends to any line.” Aziraphale watched as the boy paced around the box of sand, bare feet treading over the pebbled mosaic.
“I guess I should consult an expert,” Alexander said suddenly, as he stuck his stick into the sand with a sharp motion as if stabbing through the ground, hard enough for the stick to rattle the wooden bottom of the box.
“Do be gentle, please.”
“Sorry,” Alexander shrugged, staring at the stick.
“An expert? What do you need to consult an expert on?”
“The important stuff about stars,” Alexander said. “I thought maybe you could help me, but I’ll have to find a proper expert.”
“Hmm, I suppose. I believe if we were to travel to Babylon, we would probably find the world’s experts on stars; they’ve got quite an excellent school there. Oh, and of course, Egypt is a good place as well. I would also say that India has some quite excellent specialists...if you like, I could write to one for you, my dear child. I have some acquaintances in those places that perhaps could send me some books.”
“Oh.” Alexander looked disappointed, but then his expression changed. “Wait, what about Nectanebo?”
“What about Nectanebo?” Aziraphale felt his voice crack. “No wait, my dear child. Don’t go to him. I shall write to Babylon for you and-”
