starting off with what we already know. gaz helped pick out the ring and price proposed

i think he went for the classic wine and dine proposal route - either he took hound out for a very expensive dinner and proposed with candles and dessert and flowers and even more wine at home afterwards OR he simply did the whole nine yards at home bc there is No Chance of a public proposal from this man. he’s not that guy. just a bonus that it’s an easy access ravishing after they say yes

the rest of the 141 and laswell and her wife are of course invited + the many other friends made during service both together and apart. price figures he’s doing this once and he’s doing it right so it ends up a pretty big wedding

the venue is the little chapel down the road from where price grew up, in fact the same one he attended from a young age

hound’s one concession is an english wedding since they’ve already made price move to ireland. he would’ve done the whole thing there if they asked. they know this and chose england anyway. (he loves them so much.)

hound wears white and their granddad walks them down the aisle, price wears a deep navy tailored tux with gaz as his best man

price cries when he sees hound start down the aisle, and he sniffles through his vows. hound laughs and cries equally during theirs, which had to be edited heavily by laswell beforehand to remove most (but not all) of the dog puns

price cannot resist dipping hound for a dramatic kiss at the altar. what can he say? he’s an old fashioned romantic at heart. the mood is only slightly killed by ghost’s wolf whistle from the front pews

soap cries during his toast at the reception. the microphone has to be wrestled from hound’s granddad when his toast goes off the rails and he starts giving out about those bleedin’ brits. hound does not help matters by shouting free the north! to egg him on…

hound insists on twirling price during the first dance, and he patiently tolerates their nonsense. it’s all worth it when he gets to watch them spin soap and gaz and ghost around the dance floor later

there are plenty of beautiful staged photographs on the day, but price’s favorite is one the photographer snuck of hound lighting his cigar for him in a quiet moment away from the crowds of the reception. it’s the one he keeps framed on his office desk

This one shot is based on that Tiktok trend where girls refer to their boyfriends as their “husband” to see what their reaction will be 🤭🤭

Warnings: 18+ Content (MDNI pls) but it’s all fluff!  Maybe Tim gets a little handsy when he helps reader undress 🤷🏻‍♀️ (she’s into it). Drunk reader, consumption of Chinese food. Established relationship, petnames (Shutterbug, gorgeous, baby), soft!Tim. Reader wears a dress and heels (but they hurt her feet).

Tim pushes his reading glasses up his nose as his settles in under the fluffy duvet cover, two of your matching pillows propped up comfortably behind his back, ready to dive into his book.  You’re not home yet, but Tim doesn’t mind waiting up.  Since the two of you exchanged keys six month ago, he’s probably spent more time at your place than his own – he prefers the warmth of your apartment, with the soft décor and personal touches that remind him so much of you to the cold, sparse feel of his own place.  He had originally worried that you might mind that most days he comes straight here after his long day at the precinct, but you hadn’t minded one bit. 

You didn’t mind making room in your closet for his sharp, if slightly monochromatic suits among your more colourful wardrobe.  You didn’t even mind the gun lock box that sits on the top shelf of that same closet; a safe place for Tim’s service firearm where it remains for you, out of sight, out of mind.  You certainly didn’t mind the permanent home his gun holster had found on your bed post – within arm’s reach should the mood strike you to see it frame your boyfriend’s broad shoulders.  And if the little pile of police paperwork that lives on a corner of your dining room table or any of the other little ways you’ve made room for him in your place didn’t convince him, you would tease that you’d never dare keep him from reading his way through your Agatha Christie collection.

It tickles you to no end that your big bad police detective boyfriend spends all day solving mysteries, only to choose to spend his free time reading books about detectives solving mysteries.  When you shared your amusement with Tim, he had winked at you, tapped his finger against his temple and recited, “If the little grey cells are not exercised, they grow the rust.”  So delighted at Tim quoting your favourite Christie hero you had immediately attacked his face with your lips, planting breathy butterfly kisses over every inch of his handsome face, the book he was reading consequently knocked to the ground and forgotten for the rest of the evening in lieu of decidedly less bookish activities.

He’s right in the middle of a Hercule Poirot soliloquy when he hears the front door open and then your loud, breathy giggle as you bump into the foyer table; shortly after, your keys jingle when dropped in the key bowl, clinking with his own that he had placed in the same bowl several hours earlier.  Tim listens to you struggle a bit with kicking off your shoes, realizing you must finally be free of your work heels when you let out an exaggerated sigh of relief as your tired feet touch the cool hardwood.  He emerges from the bedroom just in time to see you wobblily padding towards the kitchen and grins to himself - you’re drunk.  Tim calls your name softly and when you see your handsome boyfriend smiling at you, delicious and all at home in your apartment, wearing only a wifebeater and his boxers, your eyes open wide – you were on a way to get a snack, but he’s a snack. 

“Timmy!!!!!” you launch yourself in those strong, muscular arms that you know will feel so good around your tired body; Tim catches you easily and envelopes you in his welcoming embrace, his grin only getting wider – you only call him ‘Timmy’ when you get tipsy.  You've been so excited to go out with some old work colleagues that didn’t work at your firm anymore, finally able to arrange a get-together that worked with everyone’s busy schedules.  Evidently you had a great time tonight – Tim’s glad, he pulls you in for a soft, tender hello kiss before steering you over to the kitchen where you were undoubtedly headed to get something to eat.  Sitting you down at the breakfast counter, he fetches you a fresh glass of water and two preventative Advils, and encourages you to tell him all about your evening while he heats up a plate in the microwave.

“What’s that?  You made me food?” you exclaim, giddy.

Tim chuckles, “Nothing fancy like that, Shutterbug.  I ate dinner at the precinct and brought home my Chinese takeout leftovers.  Just plated it so I could heat it up quickly for you when you got home – figured you’d want an après bar snack.”

He’s so sweet.  And thoughtful.  And hot, you smile dopily as you thank him.

“You know, gorgeous, I could have come picked you up,” Tim looks over at you from the open microwave door.

“You’re so sweet, baby!  I know you would have, but you’ve been working so hard on the Pie case – I knew you would already be working late, and I knew we would be late too with all the picture taking.  I didn’t want you to get home and then have to go out again.  It was easy enough to share a cab.  Oh!  That reminds me – I gotta check in with the group chat.”

Your fingers are still flying over your phone keyboard as Tim places a plate of steaming hot Chinese food in front of you – you smile gratefully up at him.

Tonight’s night out had been double duty for you – in addition to seeing some friends that you haven’t seen in forever, a local food blog that features your photos regularly had put out a call for cocktail photos, so your group had gone out with the mission of trying as many different mixed drinks as possible. 

As he always does after you go out and shoot photos, Tim sits next to you and listens to you as you swipe through your camera roll and happily chirp about the pictures you took: the subjects, lens choices, angles and lighting options.  He does his best to concentrate on the pretty pictures on your screen but can’t help stealing glances at your sweet face, alight with enthusiasm and joy.

Finally putting your phone down, you start to dig into your cooled down food as you catch Tim up on the rest of your night, tipsily chatting non-stop in between bites of delicious, greasy food:

“Ok remember when I told you about Vicky’s deadbeat boyfriend who she basically carried through her internship?  He apparently tried applying for a job at her new boyfriend’s restaurant??!”

“Guess what they had on the menu, baby??  A flight of spareribs – isn’t that such a cute idea?  I thought, ohhh Tim would love this, he can never choose between crispy and bbq. Ha!”

“And she ended up getting two dogs from the shelter!  Do you ever thing about getting a dog?  I kind of wish we had a dog but we’re both so busy…”

“… should have made him clean the toilets, is what I said.”

“Ooo!  Dumplings!”

“They had that Chablis we liked so much at that wine bar in New York!  I didn’t get any because we were only getting cocktails for my photos.  But no one ever has Chablis – we need to go back!”

“So then you’ll never guess what she said: I would rather eat a lightbulb.”

Your unrestrained laughter rings throughout the kitchen, eyes twinkling in mirth, thoroughly amused by you and your friends’ antics.  You’re leaning back in your chair, your feet resting in Tim’s lap as he rubs your sore feet, the very picture of happiness that Tim imagines whenever the stress and realities of his work threaten to envelope him and he needs a little light to guide him forward.

With amazement, Tim watches as you gracefully manipulate your chopsticks and pick up cube after cube of salt and pepper fried tofu and pop them in your mouth, your elegant movements belying your state of inebriation, “Sounds like you had a great time tonight, Shutterbug.”

“Oh we did!  I miss those girls so much.  It’s hard for us to find a time to all get together but when we do it’s always soooo much fun!  We just pick up like we used to when we were all juniors at the firm, it was perfect… well except for those two guys that couldn’t take a hint.  Yeesh.”

“What guys?” Tim looks up, eyes darkening, his big, firm hands stop their caressing of your arches.

You wave your chopsticks wildly in the air, as if to dismiss his concern, “Just a couple of guys at the bar that kept sending us drinks.  We kept sending them back.”  You wiggle your feet in Tim’s grip and he catches on – immediately starting to massage them again.

“Did they give you any trouble?”

“Not really.  Too laughable to be trouble – they came over before dessert was brought out to ask why we didn’t accept their drinks?  I mean?? We told them that we were drinking for work, like my photo thing, not for fun.”

“And they got the message?”

“I mean, it took a while, but yes – they kept trying dumb lines like, Work hard, play hard!” you scrunch up your face at the ridiculous memory, “I finally had to tell them that my husband’s a cop in order for them to leave us alone!”

Husband.  Tim wills himself to keep his expression neutral, as if you hadn’t said something that piqued his interest and sent his heart racing.  Husband.

“Oh yeah?  What did they have to say to that?”

“Ugh!  One of them tried to convince me that he’d be a better husband than 'some meter maid,'” you roll your eyes as you shove black bean chicken chow mein into your mouth, “Timmy, did you splurge for extra crispy noodles?!” Your delight fills Tim with pride – he doesn’t know how you can tell after the sauce practically drowns the noodles, but you always can.

He nods, entertained by your cheery chatter, “You know, everyone has to do a rotation in Parking Enforcement – it’s a legitimate part of training.  So, what did you say?”

It takes you a beat to answer, so tickled by the image of your hulking Tim in a little cap and vest writing parking tickets, “I quoted Clueless of course: As if.  My husband is the biggest, baddest detective in the LAPD.  He’s the smartest investigator on the squad and has cleared more cases than anyone else in the precinct.   And he’s a ferocious guard dog who would rip apart any one who would dare make a woman feel uncomfortable.”

“You told them all that, Shutterbug?” Tim’s half proud and half shy at your praise, and still unable to get over that you’re calling him your husband in public.  It’s making him unspeakably happy. 

You nod vigorously, eyes wide and innocent, as if you couldn’t imagine a world in which Detective Tim Rockford and his accomplishments aren’t being praised to the sky at every given opportunity.  “I also told them that my husband is the sweetest and kindest person I’ve ever met.  And that even though he has hardened criminals scared shitless, he only ever makes me feel loved and supported, 100% appreciated and taken care of.  I love my husband!”  You look so happy you could cry, and Tim can’t help but feel his entire chest swell at how you described him to those two bozo strangers - that this is how you see him, what he means to you.  He loves you so much.

He tells you so as he kisses the top of your head, taking your empty plate to the sink and fetching another glass of water before wrapping his arm tightly around your waist and leading you to the bathroom.

From under his chin, you look up and coo, “And he’s hot too, you know?”

“Hmmmm?” Tim smiles down indulgently to find your cute, drunk face grinning at him mischievously.

“My husband.  He’s so fucking hot.  I want to climb him like a tree and sink my teeth into all his hard muscles and mark him up so everyone knows he’s mine.  Oh my god!”  You step in front of Tim, startling him with your sudden movement, the two you continuing to make your way through the bedroom.  Under Tim’s watchful eye, you walk backwards as you babble eagerly, trying desperately to make him understand, “You don’t even know how handsome he is?!?  He has the perfect nose and the deepest brown eyes.  His lips are so soft, perfect for kissing.  He is SUCH a good kisser.  OH!!! His facial hair looks sooooo good… I wonder what he would look like with a full beard.  Probably just as fucking hot as he does now.  My husband’s face is DEVASTATING!” You sigh dramatically.

Now starting to get embarrassed at your compliments, Tim turns you around gently and marches forward.  Once in the bathroom, you stop abruptly so that Tim bumps into you – giggling, you wiggle your butt into his crotch, wordlessly asking for help you don’t actually need to undress.

Tim disrobes you swiftly – wanting to help you get to bed as soon as possible, but makes sure to kiss a gentle path along the skin he reveals as he unzips the dress he watched you put on for work this morning; after he helps you step out of your dress, he dots kisses down the back of your thighs and calves that leave you shivering in pleasure.  Left in just your matching pastel floral lingerie set, you brush you teeth and start your night time skin care while Tim watches you fondly from his seat on the edge of the tub.  No matter the circumstances, you’ll never go to bed without washing your face and putting on some of the elixirs and potions that overrun your bathroom counter – Tim’s convinced they must work though - you’re radiant, stunning; if he didn’t often find himself distracted by the soft curves of your enticing body, he would never look away from your beautiful face.

“Did you know your husband has the best wife?”

You look over at him and giggle into the face towel you’re using to dry your cleansed skin, “Oh yeah?  Tell me about your wife, Detective Rockford.”

As you start to apply your creams and moisturizers, Tim comes up behind you, gently skimming his fingers up and down your bare sides, leaving little goosebumps in their wake, “My wife is gorgeous.  Prettiest woman I’ve ever met, inside and out.  She’s smart, kind, and hilarious, and I think the most considerate person on this planet.  Did you know when I first met her, she volunteered to wait and be the last to be interviewed by a grumpy detective, so that school trips and families with kids could go first?”

Your eyes crinkle at the memory of when you met Tim at the aquarium nearly a year and a half ago, “How do you know your wife wasn’t just angling to be interviewed by the hot detective?”

Tim points a finger at himself comically, arching his eyebrow at the you in the mirror reflection, Me?  Do you mean me – I was the hot detective?

You nod heartily, Of course you.

“Well, looks like my wife had my number from the start.  She’s smart like that.  Her brain is the sexiest part of her you know?  And that’s saying something because everything about her is sexy,” Tim starts kissing your neck.  His hands trail up to your breasts and he softly gropes your curves over the lacy fabric before reaching one hand between your bodies and undoes your bra clasp, his other hand ready to help you drag the bra down your arms, exposing your bare chest to the detective's lustful gaze.  Nuzzling into your ear, he whispers, “My wife is so fucking hot,” as his fondles your breasts in his big, meaty hands – rolling your nipples between his rough fingers then lightly tugging before releasing them, causing your tits to jiggle. 

You turn in Tim’s arms, your lips immediately meeting his, mouth open with an unspoken invitation he eagerly accepts.  Tim licks into your mouth hungrily and you match each stroke of his tongue with a brush of yours, every nip of his teeth with an equally playful nibble.  You sigh into Tim’s mouth as his lips press to yours over and over, mapping your soft cushiony lips and sucking them swollen to mark you as his.  He hardly allows you to take a breath, and you’re not sure anymore if your dizziness is from tonight’s alcohol, or the way Tim’s lips slot so perfectly over yours, stealing all your air.  You love it - air is nothing when you have Tim.  Moaning softly so the sound fills his mouth, you hear Tim whisper huskily, “Arms up, Shutterbug.”

“Anything you say, Detective,” you shimmy your half naked body playfully in Tim’s arms and raise your arms over your head as requested, and for a second, you can’t help but gaze adoringly at Tim’s devilishly handsome face before your vision is obstructed.

“Hey!  What th-?”  When Tim’s grinning face comes back into view, he lowers your arms to your sides and you look down at your chest.  You realize that Tim has slipped one of his oversized band t-shirts over your head to wear for sleeping.  You give him an exaggerated pout and a silly whine before pressing your now t-shirt clad body to his, your final drunk attempt at seduction.

Tim dispenses a soft kiss to your lips, nose, then forehead, “Not tonight, gorgeous.  You’re drunk.  You don’t need sex, you need water.”  He points to the glass of water he brought from the kitchen and leaves to place the drink on your bedside table so that you can finish getting ready for bed. 

Snuggling under the covers after taking three big gulps of water from your glass at Tim’s insistence, you sleepily arch you butt against Tim’s bulge, giving it a half-hearted shake, stopping only when he gives you a pinch on the bum, murmuring, “Tomorrow, Shutterbug.”  You grin at the promise and yawn, “Goodnight, Timmy,” before finally succumbing to your alcohol fueled exhaustion and passing out.

Tim wonders if you’ll remember calling him your husband tomorrow.  He wonders if you meant to say it or if it just slipped out.  He wonders what it could mean that you said it at all.  He wonders if you somehow know about the ring box that’s hidden in a pair of old sport socks he never uses at the back of his dresser drawer in the bedroom of a house that he’s hardly at anymore. 

Tim tightens his arms around you - he wonders a lot of things, but the one thing he never wonders about is how he feels about you.  Pressing one last soft kiss to your shoulder, Tim breathes in your soft scent – a mixture of perfume, lotion, home, and whispers, “Good night, Mrs. Rockford.”

“Chrissy, we have to make a decision.” 

Chrissy stops stirring her cold coffee, tearing her eyes away from the bookstore across the street. Or more precisely the owner, who has just stepped outside with an armful of magazines. Eddie watches how she blinks at him, futilely trying to return to their conversation, and sighs. 

“Ever since that place opened, it's like I'm talking at a wall. A pining, sighing, exorbitantly gay wall. Either, we find a new coffee place…” 

Chrissy’s eyes widen. 

“... or you'll need to ask bookstore chick out.” 

The shock on Chrissy’s face morphs into horror. 

“What?” she squeaks. “No way, I'm not doing that. Have you seen her? She's dreamy, she probably has people queuing up left and right.”

On the other side of the street, dreamy bookstore chick trips over her own shoelaces, sending the magazines flying all around her. 

“Yeah,” Eddie says. “Anyhow. Just walk over, ask about the merchandise. Use your charme, get her number.” 

Chrissy scowls. “You say that like it’s easy.” 

“Because it is,” Eddie laughs. “I could do it right now.” 

“Oh, yes? Go ahead.” Chrissy quirks a brow, gesturing at the flower shop next to the café. “If you can walk over and get a random employee’s number, I’ll to ask out bookstore chick. If not, you pay for our coffee.” 

“Oh, it’s on,” Eddie cackles, sliding out of his chair and prancing over to the flower shop. “Watch and learn!” 

He lets his gaze sweep, scanning the employees in the green polos milling about between the flowers. He’s just thinking that all of them are either decidedly too old or decidedly too female when he spots him. He has his back turned, so all Eddie can see of him is a shock of chestnut hair, streaked gold from the sunlight. That, and the polo stretching over the muscles of his shoulders and arms as he bends over the colorful bouquets. Eddie feels his mouth tug into a grin as he saunters closer. That one's perfect.

“Excuse me,” he starts to say. “I'm wondering-” 

The guy turns. And all words evaporate on Eddie’s tongue. 

He was wrong. This one isn't perfect. This one's divine. 

Hazel eyes with gold flecks, brought out by the green shirt. Full, pink lips begging to be kissed. A strong jaw and long neck dotted in moles, like the heavens themselves painted constellations all over the guy’s skin. Eddie is overcome with the sudden, irrational urge to rip off that polo to see if they continue on his chest, maybe trace them with his tongue and teeth. 

“Hi,” says the guy, and even his voice is nice. “Something I can help you with?” 

Eddie thinks there’s many things he’d like this hottie to help him with. 

“Erm …” is what he says. 

Flower shop hottie cocks his head at him and lifts his hand to his mouth. He’s holding an apple, crisp green to match his shirt. It crunches as he takes a bite out of it. Eddie wastes half a brain cell wondering why he's eating at work. The rest ceases functioning over the thin sheen of juice glistening on those lips. Flower shop hottie raises a brow. 

“Flowers,” Eddie croaks after an hour or ten. “I wanna buy flowers.” 

That perfect mouth twitches. “Well, duh. This is a flower shop, y’know?” 

Eddie nods dumbly, wondering if those lips would taste of apples if he licked them.

“Well,” hottie says helpfully, taking another, very unhelpful bite of his apple. “What did you have in mind? Sunflowers would be great for your friend. Bright, cheerful, not overly romantic. Roses for a crush, obviously. Red is the classic, but maybe pink if it's still fresh? Peonies for a more elegant and subtle alternative.” 

Eddie eyes the flowers, the ones with the long stems and dramatic, voluminous blossoms. 

“Yeah,” he says. “Peepo- … Pony- … Those.” 

“Excellent choice,” Hottie beams at him. “They're my favorites.” 

“Cool,” Eddie squawks. “Great. How much are they?” 

“Huh?” says hottie. “No idea, I don't work here.” 

Wait, what? 

Hottie takes in his dumbstruck face, the way Eddie gawks at the green polo - markedly devoid of a company logo or name tag - and smiles.

“Oh fuck,” Eddie groans.

Hottie throws his head back and laughs, like Eddie just made the funniest joke in the world. 

“I'm on my lunch break,” he then explains. “I own the bookstore. Well, co-own. And, speaking of which…” 

Eddie flinches as the half-eaten apple is pressed into his hand, but hottie gestures at him to wait, so he does. The amount of things he'd do for this guy is quite frankly alarming, and he's only known him for a few minutes. 

Hottie fumbles around in his back pocket for a second, finally emerging with a pen. 

“Overheard your little bet,” he says, pulling Eddie’s free hand towards himself. It tickles as he scribbles something onto the his arm and Eddie needs to hold back an undignified snort. “Not the coolest of moves, but if Robin rants at me about your cute little friend one more time, I'll club her to death with a book. So here you go.”

He steps back, snatching the apple and taking another bite while Eddie peers down at his arm. There's a number on it, and a name above that. 

Steve. 

“You don't work here, though,” Eddie blurts. “I didn't win the bet, strictly-” 

“You want this to continue for another month or five?” 

Eddie follows Steve’s nod to see Chrissy gazing forlornly at the front of the bookstore and winces. 

Steve chuckles and nudges him towards her. 

“Go on, then. Put us all out of our misery.” 

Eddie has already started walking when something occurs to him.

“Is this your actual number?” he asks, flapping his arm up and down. “Or did you make it up?” 

“Why don't you try it and find out?” Steve winks at him. “I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of each other either way.”

A lot can be said from how someone express themselves through texting, so this is just some crack / light headcanons !

Also to the nen, i imagine you could both make weapons and stuff (make it not liquid using the iron in blood or smth) and move the blood, idk how to explain it but, when the blood is circulating in your oponents body, you can move it (while its still circulating) and consequently move the body of your oponent.

✩ Okay so to start very uhh originally, you guys met at the hunter exam, so you travel with Gon and him.

✩ Maybe you met during the third phase since you fell into the same room as them

✩ Of course they didn't really trust you at first, since it is the hunter exam and they should be cautious, but when you got stuck in the room for 50 hours, you bonded, since you were the same age as Gon and Killua.

✩ Killua was really impressed by your fight from before, very much wondering how you did what you did. I mean, it was obvious your oponent wouldn't just jump from the platform by himself...

✩ Of course he asked you about it, but you just responded with a smile and a wink

✩ So, after the hunter exam and saving Killua from his creepy ahh family, you went to the Heavens arena and met Zushi and Wing. When Wing gave them the vague and quite incorrect description of nen, that is when it clicked, and he asked you about your abilities.

✩ And you just responded with your angelic smile. Why was he feeling all tingly tho? (¬ ͜ ͡¬)

✩ When you got onto the 200th floor, you actually stood through Hisokas nen, oopsies a mistake, and just went to sign up for a match since you were bored by all those weak people in lower floors.

OCTOBER 25th 2020 (HELL IN A CELL)

Josh felt like a creep staring at Airielle as she filmed a segment with Paul Heyman for the kickoff show. It was like she was everywhere he was. When he had a segment with Kayla, Airielle was there. When he wanted to hang out with Trin and his brother. Airielle was there. She was literally everywhere. 

“Stop staring.” He jumped as Trinity came and stood next to him. “You know she thinks you don't like her.” 

“What?” He said his eyes glancing over at Trin before looking back over at Airielle. 

“Yup.” Trinity nodded but then shrugged. “She also thinks you’re an asshole.” Josh turned his face up. 

“Man what? What the hell I do?”  Trinity shrugged again with a smirk on her face. 

“Kayla told her that you ghosted her.” 

“Ghosted- man what?” Josh said again in disbelief.  

“Yup, told Kayla she could do so much better than you.” Trinity couldn’t help but laugh at the look on Josh’s face but then immediately apologized. 

“Hey guys.” Airielle smiled as she walked over to the two of them.  Josh couldn’t help but let his eyes roam her body. 

“Hey girly, you still driving back to Pensacola with us right?” Trinity asked Airielle who nodded. 

“You comin’ with us?” Josh blurted out, causing Airielle and Trinity to look over at him. 

“Yeah. Is that a problem? “ Airielle asked, crossing her arms over her chest and arching an eyebrow at him. 

“Naw my bad.” He said scratching the back of his neck. “Imma go. I see you later Trin.” He said before walking away. 

“We’re just waiting on Airielle.” Trinity said when Josh entered the SUV. Josh nodded and leaned his head back, closing his eyes. His match with Joe had been brutal and all he wanted to do was sleep. 

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” Airielle said as she got in the SUV in the backseat with Josh. 

“Girl, you good. Josh just got here too.” Airielle blew out a sigh of relief. She had run all the way to the parking lot in her high ass heels because she thought they were waiting for her. 

“Are we good? I can drive now?” Jon asked, putting the car in drive. He waited until everyone gave him approval before pulling out of the parking lot. Josh kept looking at Airielle out of the corner of his eye. She was giggling as she typed on her phone and he resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Of course she had a boyfriend. Why wouldn't she?  He looked away from her and caught the eye of his twin who was looking at him through the rearview mirror. He did roll his eyes when Jon winked at him. 

They were about 2 hours into the 6 hour drive when Trinity said she needed to use the restroom. Jon pulled over and laughed when Trinity and Airielle hopped out the car, rushing towards the bathroom. 

“So.” Jon started as he looked at Josh in the mirror. “How you doin back there?” Josh thinking that he was talking about how his body was feeling after the match answered his question. 

“Sore as fuck Uce. My back all fucked up.” Jon scoffed and shook his head. 

“No, how you doing with Airielle back there.”  Josh rolled his eyes and dug his headphones out his bag but before he could put them on Jon snatched them out his hand. 

“Man, leave me alone.”  Jon was about to reply but the girls got back into the car with a bag full of snacks. Jon rolled his eyes when he saw Trinity munching on a Laffy Taffy. 

“I thought we talked about the candy Trin.” Jon said, trying to take it out her mouth but she slapped his hand away. 

“Stop it. Airi forced me to get it.” 

“Hey!” Airielle cried out, causing Trinity to laugh. Jon then turned his attention to her. 

“What, you got a whole bunch of candy too?” He asked reaching for her bag but she tossed it into the trunk and stuck her tongue out at him when he narrowed his eyes at her. Josh would never admit it outloud but he was feeling jealous watching Airielle and his brother interact. It wasn’t that he was scared to talk to her, he just didn’t know what to say to her and his words always came out high pitched when talked to her.. It was embarrassing. 

“Did yall get us anything at least?.”  Jon asked and they nodded. Airielle grabbed her bag out of the trunk and dug for the bag of mini snickers and a bottle of water before handing them to Josh. 

“Trin said you like these.”  Josh nodded and grabbed the items out of her hands, thanking her. 

4 hours into the ride Josh jumped awake when the SUV jerked to the side. “My bad y’all.” Trinity said. “My jam came on.” Airielle laughed and tried to get back comfortable but she was freezing. She kept rubbing her arms and Josh dug into his bag and pulled out a Batman blanket and handed it to her. She arched her eyebrow at the character. 

“It’s my sons. He gives it to me so I have something of his while I'm on the road..” She awed and thanked him, grabbed the blanket from him and wrapping herself in it. 

Airielle woke up as soon as Trinity pulled up in front of her parents house. 

“Damn girl.” Jon whistled and rolled the windows down to get a better look at the house. “This all you?” Airielle chuckled and let out a yawn as she put her shoes back on her feet. 

“No, this is my parents house. I’m staying here tonight”  She got out of the car and went to grab her luggage from the trunk but Josh had already beaten her there. “Oh, thank you.” She said, surprised. 

“Don’t forget about the Barbecue tomorrow!” Trinity yelled out the window to her and Airielle nodded and told Trinity that she would be there.  She tried to grab her luggage from Josh but he shook his head. 

“Nah I can carry it to the door for you.” He said walking towards the front door. Airielle waved to Jon and Trin before following Josh to the front door of her parents house. He set her stuff down and turned to walk away. 

“Thank you.” She said again, causing him to turn around. “You didn’t have to do that.”  He shrugged and walked back towards the SUV, getting in and closing the door. Airielle waved again as they drove off before walking into her parent’s house and making her younger brother go get her luggage from outside. 

OCTOBER 26th 2020

“So they’re having a cookout on a Monday?” Airielle’s cousin Yasmine asked as Airielle was getting ready to go over to Jon and Trin’s house. 

“Not a cookout, they just having dinner and they invited me.” Airielle said as she placed her green hat on her head. She looked at Yasmine in the mirror and rolled her eyes at her pouty face. “I already asked if you could come and Trin said yeah.” She said laughing when Yasmine jumped up off her bed and went to get dressed. 

“See, told you not a cookout.” Airielle whispered to Yasmine as they walked into Jon and Trin’s backyard and only seen Jon, Trin, Josh and Joe. Yasmine rolled her eyes at Airielle as Trinity came over to them. 

“Hi, I’m Trin. Nice to meet you.” She said to Yasmine as she pulled her into a hug and led her and Airielle over to the boys. 

Josh watched as Airielle threw her head back and laughed at something Joe had said. He waited until Joe walked away to walk over to her. He wasn’t drunk but he was definitely tispy and wasn’t nervous to talk to her. 

He downed the rest of his beer before standing up from his chair and walking over. “Hey.” he said and she looked up from her phone. 

“Hi Josh,” She said, forcing a smile on her face. She felt like she had a sort of loyalty to Kayla and from what Kayla had told her Josh was an asshole and Airielle wanted nothing to do with him. 

“So uh,” He scratched the back of his neck. “Trin said you think imma  asshole.” He said and she nodded with no hesitation. “Why? You don’t even know me.” 

She shrugged. “I was talking to Kayla and she told me what you did to her.”  He sucked his teeth. 

“Man, I ain't do nothing to her.” She scoffed and rolled her eyes. She looked around the backyard for a way out of the conversation but everyone had gone inside the house. She sighed and turned her attention back to him.

Ion know why she told you all that.”  Airielle squinted her eyes at him and he held up his hand. “I’m not lying, scouts honor.” Airielle turned to walk away but Josh grabbed her arm. 

She snatched her arm from him. “Ok fine you’re not lying about Kayla. But everytime i’m around you, you look at me like I got seven heads or something. Like I did something to you.”   

“Nah, that's not it. You ain't do nothing to me.” He said scratching his beard. 

“So what is it then?” When he said nothing she turned and started to walk towards the house again. 

“Okay wait, wait.” He said,  stopping her from walking away. “Let’s start over.” He held out his hand for her to shake. “I’m Josh, nice to meet you.” Her eyes bounced between his face and his hand before placing her hand in his, causing him to smile at her. 

“I’m Airielle.”

“Hey.” Airielle jumped when she suddenly heard Josh’s voice. 

“Hey Josh,” She said, smiling at him. 

“Where you been at, I ain’t see you in a week.” He immediately regretted saying that when she smirked at him. 

“Awe, You missed me Joshua?” She giggled when he rolled his eyes at her. They haven’t seen eachother since dinner at Trin and Jon’s house. After they had reintroduced themselves they had talked for about 2 hours more, getting to know each other. She was fun to talk to but she still made him nervous, extremely nervous. 

“Maybe, where the hell you been at?” 

“I had a family emergency.” 

“Vague.” She laughed. “You ready for our segment later?” 

“Yup, don’t get mad at what I say.”  He narrowed his eyes at her but before he could respond she stood up from her chair. “Bye” She giggled as she walked away from him. 

Airielle stood on her spot, waiting for the cameraman to start the countdown. Once he got to one and gave her a thumbs up, Airielle put a smile on her face. 

“I’m standing by with my guest Jey Uso” Airielle said smiling to the camera as Jey walked into frame. “Jey.” She started, turning her attention to him. “The last month or two have been extremely emotional and trying for you. But I wanna take you back to last week in particular.” She said as she and Jey looked towards the T.V monitor that played what happened last week on Smackdown. 

While they watched the video package. Airielle noticed that Josh couldn’t stay still; he was shifting from foot to foot - a telltale sign that he was nervous. 

“Hey,” She whispered, making him snap his head to look at her. “You okay?” she asked and he nodded his head. 

“Yeah I’m fine.” He said clearing his throat and she nodded, straightening her posture just as the video package ended. 

“Well Jey, after watching that back can you explain your actions?” She asked before holding the microphone to him. 

“Yeah I did what I had to do Airielle.” He said keeping his eyes on the ground and not looking at Airielle. “It was nothing personal. I consider D.B a friend. I’m sorry Uce, but he aint blood. Family is forever.” Airielle nodded and brought the microphone back to her lips. 

“You’re right.” She shrugged. “Family is forever.. Unless you don’t fall in line and do what Roman Reigns tells you to do right?” She said and Josh chuckled. “Otherwise, according to Roman you’re out of the family.” She finished and Josh bit the inside of his cheek and looked up from the ground and made eye contact with Airelle. 

“Oh so you got jokes too huh? Everybody wanna tell jokes today.” He said and she narrowed her eyes at him as Paul Heyman walked into frame. 

“Hi.” Paul said, eyeing Airielle. “How are you?” She opened her mouth to respond but he cut her off. “Question, did Roman Reigns authorize this interview?”  She went to answer but Paul cut her off again. “It was rhetorical.” Airielle rolled her eyes. “No he did not .” He said squinting his eyes at her before leaning closer to Jey. “Roman needs to talk to you.” He told Jey. 

Airielle sighed. “Well Jey, it seems as if Paul Heyman has a better spot in the family then you do.” Jey scoffed at her. 

“You still throwing shade huh? Airielle shrugged as Jey scoffed again before walking away with Paul. 

He walked back over to her once the camera’s cut off.  “Damn Rih, why you had to do me like that?” 

“Too much?” 

“Nah, you good. Just kinda threw me off guard a bit.” They stood there, awkwardly. “Um, I gotta film with Uce next but uh, you wanna have dinner or something tonight?” 

“Just me and you?” He nodded, biting the inside of his cheek. 

“Yeah, Jon and Trin ain't here. I can invite Joe if you want me too.” 

“No” She shook her head with a chuckle. “Me and you is cool. Meet you in the parking lot? He nodded before giving her an awkward fist bump before walking away. 

“I'm sorry. I forgot COVID restrictions got everything closing early.” Airielle laughed as she entered the passenger seat of his rental car. 

“It's fine. I forgot too. I think McDonald’s is still open, we can eat in the car.” She said as she pulled out her phone and pulled up the directions to the closest McDonalds. After getting their food, he parked the car. 

“So, what's your full name?” He asked after basically demolishing his food. 

“What?” She asked, choking on a french fry. He chuckled and passed her, her drink. 

“Come on, we're friends right?” She nodded

“So answer the question.”  She rolled her eyes.

“Fine, Airielle Noelle Jones. Your turn.” 

“Nope, gotta ask ya own question now.”  She scoffed then let out a chuckle before asking,

“How old are you?” 

“35” Her eyes widened. “What?” 

“Nothing, you look younger than 35.” He had to bite the inside of his cheek to stop himself from giggling like a schoolgirl. 

"You got a boyfriend?" He asked and immediately regretted it when he seen the look on her face. "Or a girlfriend. I don't judge." She laughed.

"No I don't have a boyfriend or a girlfriend."

"Oh, okay." He said nodding "Good."

“You staying in Orlando for another day?” He asked and she nodded. He had walked her to her hotel room. It was well past 1 in the morning. They had been in the McDonalds parking lot talking for about 3 hours. 

“Yeah, filming Talking Smack tomorrow.”  He nodded and bit the inside of his cheek.

“So can I take you out again when you get back to Pensacola?”  

“Yeah, I would like that.” Airielle smiled before saying goodnight and walking into her hotel room.

Okok so I’ve been thinking about some ak jay stuff and just had to share!! So we know that joker wanted to make Jason his partner instead of Batman’s, and while a lot of the training for that was teaching jay to be submissive to him, I bet that he also would have to teach Jason to love being cruel, to love hurting people, right??? r who Peter always fought because for some reason you always volunteered to take care of him. Recieving sarcastic remarks after his witty banter. Where bruises were less common because it was more of a sparing match than an actual fight. Spider senses tingling but much differently before, more like a warning than danger.

Where r is caught as the mole and only manages to escape by a hair and shows up on Peter's balcony before passing out. Peter seeing r's face for the first time and feels things click into place. He's seen you before. Actually...you live next door.

When you wake up you spill all the information you have on the collider under the city. Answering all of his more personal question because annoyingly enough, he actually cares about you.

Your personal lives integrating as you both work to take down the collider which is why he meets your younger brother, Miles. Doesn't matter if it's through blood or adoption. You take care of him like he's your own son after your police captain dad passed away in Brooklyn years ago along with your mom.

Friday take out isn't so lonely anymore and admitedly, you both feel like you have a family again while Peter feels his has grown exponentially bigger.

Miles enjoys Peter's company but he can see you enjoy it the most. Who rolls his eyes when you both act like his parents but secretly wishes you would just kiss and leave behind that weird flirting you two do. Who threatens to kick the other's ass? Miles is lowkey concerned.

When Peter realizes he's falling and so do you and you're both terrified. Being idiots you start distancing yourselves and it isn't until Peter catches Miles after dangling from the same collider you both were working so hard to take down. That the adrenaline kicks in and you confess. Not asking him for a relationship as you throw someone into a wall, just telling him how you feel. Peter also admitting his feeling as the collider goes boom in the backround.

Miles is not confused at the slightest, he is your brother after all. If you can figure out Spiderman's identity he can surely figure out yours. Who by the end of the fight feels the need to mention he can hang from the ceiling now. Peter coughing as he pretends not to be jumping from excitement inside. You have your work cut out for you...

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Review Chapter 8

Okay, this collection of posts will be filled with spoilers, including clips and screenshots, so if you don't wanna see things, then don't look. Some of the things I'm gonna highlight will include references to Remake and other sources to link with the overarching plot. This is a straight path playthrough with no sidequests or extra content.

Time to hit the Saucer!

The second we arrive, the girls are pulled into a short dance sequence against Andrea. After that we're introduced to Dio.

As usual, Cloud's pretty face gets him unwanted attention. Dio wants to duel. It's not a hard match, and yet I hate it so much. Cloud's proud of himself for kicking some virtual ass, and specifically looks for Tifa as he celebrates to see if she's watching. She is. He's happy.

After that the group splits after a diplomatic vote with the girls and Red going to have fun. Cloud would've gone with but when Tifa asked he had a vision of Sephiroth and she suggested he get some rest instead. He and Barret head to the ghost hotel.

We get our introduction to Cait Sith and his predictions, which kind freak Cloud out. Makes me wonder if he's superstitious.

Cloud has a nap and we get another interlude with Zack. At one point he strokes Aerith's hair and then goes downstairs to talk to Elmyra and Marlene. He then goes looking for Biggs to cheer up Marlene.

Back with the main crew and you get to take a wander around the park with whoever you have the highest affinity with. Obviously I went with Tifa and it was cute watching her and Cloud hold hands 😍

Cait Sith interrupts to let them know about a shooting. Cloud and Tifa defend Barret and state he couldn't be responsible. They volunteer to find the real culprit and Dio slaps a cuff on Cloud to stop them running away. This accessory becomes important later.

Cloud's blindsided by goons and everyone wakes up the following morning. Gus, the leader of the dust bowl, is willing to hand over the gunman if Cloud wins a chocobo race. It takes some sidequests to get Piko racing fit, but then it's off with Esther to the races!

Meanwhile, we see Elena in the desert complaining and reminding us she's only 18 🤣

Cloud wins his race. It really wasn't hard, and I say that as someone who hates chocobo racing. The others are let out of their prison cell to watch Cloud win and celebrate 🥳

After that it's an annoying trek through the desert following a frigging condor until we find Barret. Shocker, he's not the gunman who killed the people at the arena.

I'm not gonna spoil this part, but it's amazing and emotional and made me cry 😭

The combat with Barret was pretty fun and the transitions between stages were awesome!

Elena has her not vanilla ice cream, and we have to deal with a whiny Palmer in a massive mech. And this comes right off the back of a highly emotional scene. I needed a minute to get myself together 😭

After the battles are over, Dio appears and that bracelet becomes relevant. We get the buggy, Dio gives us a distraction and Barret takes charge clearing the road.

I sucked at this. I tried. I really did. This goes towards Barret's affinity for his date too, so do your best!

After we escape, it's a fast paced drive across the desert until Yuffie's motion sickness forces us to stop and get our bearings.

We have a quick stop in to find Reeve all cheerful as he doctors the wanted poster for the golden trio. Why would this make him happy? Why would he be happy in general? Well, he's teamed up with Cloud and co and finally feels like he's doing something instead of banging his head against his desk every time he tries to make Shinra do some good.

We also stop in at Rufus office for another meeting between him and Glenn, who we can see now is some apparition of Sephiroth's that'll trying to start a war. Why? Because war means death and those souls who died angry can be corrupted and used to fight the white whispers in the lifestream.

And it's back to Zack, so I'm assuming Cloud took another nap since we return to the crew the next day. He's off looking for Biggs like he promised Marlene, and we see them find each other. The interesting convo between them will be next interlude.

Barret's arc remains one of my favourites. It's everything I wanted from Rebirth and it's at this point I started getting excited to play the game. Before that I was kinda meh about it, but this chapter onwards everything is fantastic until we hit that long ass boring cut scene at the start of chapter 14.

GIVEN | Every EASTER EGG in Fuyu no Hanashi ~orchestra version~ that had me in tears

Thanks to everyone who read my previous post The GENIUS OF FUYU NO HANASHI is in the melody itself. BUT OMG HOLY HECK this orchestral version is

MUSICALLY PAINTING Mafuyu's whole journey of grief, love and healing! 😭❤️‍🩹🙏

Allow me to walk you through what is happening symbolically in the music that is painting Mafuyu’s growth!

Mafuyu, now several years into his professional music career with Given the band, has finally made it onto the big stage. He emerges from behind the curtains into the spotlight in a gorgeously fitted suit. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Then we see Ugetsu sitting in first violin and concertmaster position because this version starts off with a MAGNIFICENT VIOLIN SOLO 😭😍😩

Symbolically, it represents Ugetsu is right there performing with Mafuyu!!

Akihiko is there as well sitting beside Ugetsu in first desk!*

*as you read on, you'll see why I know that Akihiko is there.

This version is super interesting because it utilises a musical-theatre style of orchestration, similar to the orchestration from Rodgers and Hammerstein's musicals i.e. Sound of Music, The King and I, Cinderella (I've added Youtube links so you can reference the style of music I'm talking about). Every instrument of the orchestra has their own little moment to shine. This symbolises the wonderful people in Mafuyu's life that's supporting him on his journey of healing.

The harmonic progression is more spicy, full of colour and less "sad" than the original version but still based on the Cycle of 5ths to represent eternal love, symbolising that Yuki will always have a place in Mafuyu's heart.

Then Mafuyu starts singing, it's beautiful and so soulful, the style is reminiscent of those old black and white romance films! Compared to the original, Mafuyu's voice is much more refined here!

he has amazing control of the tone of his chest voice

there is no harshness at all but still full of emotion

Mafuyu also has amazing consistent vibrato

he knows exactly when to pull back or add more gusto

So @deep-fried-brain-cells is absolutely right in her post that Shogo Yano intentionally made his voice sound like an amateur singer in the original version and here is him unleashing his full talent as a singer! What a fucking champ!

I love this version so much because it really conveys that Mafuyu now as a professional is looking back on

Yuki like a cherished memory, grateful to have had Yuki as his first love.

He's also looking back on his journey and recognises how far he has come as a person and as a musician. Here, he is much more confident at expressing himself. (GAHHH I'm so proud of him!!!)

WHAT'S MORE FASCINATING IS THAT orchestration written in the musical-theatre style usually hides

🐣MUSICAL EASTER EGGS🐣

everywhere that can symbolically reference a lot of things like character themes, motifs that represent certain emotions etc.

BY RECOGNISING THESE, 2 THINGS DAWNED ON ME:

1. Ugetsu and Akihiko are musically supporting Mafuyu throughout this entire performance!!!

Ugestu and Akihiko know exactly how Mafuyu is feeling throughout the performance! They understand the pain and relief that comes with letting go of someone you love and moving on. So they are musically conversing with Mafuyu to reassure him and relate to him!!!

2. Fuyu no Hanashi ~Orchestra vers.~ references EVERY SINGLE GIVEN SONG EVER RELEASED

Other than Uragawa no Sonzai which was released at the same time as this version, it features both the Given anime OP (Kizuato) and ED song (Marutsuke) , Given movie theme song (Bokura dake no shudaika) and the TWO EXTRA SONGS (Stagekara kiminisagagu and Hetakuso) on the Gift Album released last year!!! 🤯 🤯 🤯

(Apologies, the emojis don't completely match the instruments but it's just to help anyone without much musical training to recognise the sounds more easily!)

0:00 🎻🎻Ugetsu (violin) starts the piece followed by Akihiko and the rest of the strings play the Fuyu no Hanashi melody. They start this performance because they can relate to Mafuyu's feeling of loss of a loved one.

0:10 🎻the strings also reference Bokura dake no Shudaika from the Given movie, it's that tune from the strings that comes between the lines "We can't go back anymore." and "I am here, hey look at me." This is Mafuyu accepting that the past is the past.

1:16 -🎺the french horn reference Marutsuke as Mafuyu is singing "all of you have lost its tomorrow". It is speaking on behalf of Mafuyu, saying "I wonder I wonder, I'm ensuring all the answers while searching for it" The word Marutsuke means - circling the correct answer. Mafuyu here is saying that we are all just trying our best to figure out life as we are living it.

1:44 -🎷is a clarinet referencing Stagekara kiminisasagu as Mafuyu is singing "You'll always be beside me". It is speaking on behalf of Mafuyu, saying "I dedicate this to you from the stage" I think the you references both Yuki and Uenoyama.

2:21 - 🎺the french horn references Marutsuke again as Mafuyu is singing "what kind of tomorrow should I look for?". It is speaking on behalf of Mafuyu, saying "I wonder I wonder, I'm ensuring all the answers with no answers/with hope" Mafuyu is saying that sometimes life just can't provide the answers but we must try and live with positivity not knowing all the answers. Trying our best in life together with our loved ones is all we need to do.

2:34 - 🎻when Mafuyu shouts "AHHHH" Ugetsu (violin) really be showing us his full capability as an internationally renowned violinist through this ridiculously hard violin solo! He references Fuyu no Hanashi the melody again, talking to Mafuyu through music by stating,"I understand what you're going through. I've also been there."

2:50 - 🎻🎻Akihiko joins in with Ugetsu, playing this AGONISINGLY BEAUTIFUL violin duet* that sends me straight to heaven.

*the violin duet is the thing that confirmed it for me that Akihiko is also there on stage playing alongside Ugetsu!

3:02 - Akihiko and Ugetsu (strings) reference Yoru Ga Akeru! They are literally saying to Mafuyu "It's okay. You will be okay." and "Dawn’s about to break."

3:02 - 🎻Also if you listen really carefully, the lower strings reference Kizuato and specifically the melody of the line, "Whatever you left behind became all of me."

3:08 - 🎺The trumpet references the opening/ending guitar riff in Hetakuso!!! It is speaking on behalf of Mafuyu, saying "It doesn't matter if we can't express ourselves well. Let me hear your voice because that's all I need to keep living" Mafuyu here is talking about Mafuyama and how even though sometimes miscommunication happens, trying your best to communicate is all that matters.

3:40 - 🎻as Mafuyu sings the line"that's the whole story," Akihiko and Ugetsu (strings) are playing the EXACT MELODY that Mafuyu's singing, as if once again relating to him "We share the same story of finally able to move on and find healthy love." For Ugetsu, he found self-love where he is finally starting to practise self-care and for Akihiko, he found Haruki!

4:22 - 🎺As Mafuyu sings the last word of the song, "Together", the french horns reference Kizuato and specifically the melody of the line, "Whatever you left behind became all of me." But here holds a👏positive connotation👏!!! The supporting chord is in C major (happy and hopeful) so this line actually takes on another meaning of Yuki leaving behind his guitar now makes Mafuyu feel grateful because he found a love and purpose of expressing himself and helping others express themselves through music. Through music, Yuki and Mafuyu will always be together!

4:28 - 🎺Brass (trumpets and trombones) once again reference the same strings melody in Bokura dake no Shudaika stating that "our treasured memories will become a theme song that is ours." MafuYuki's theme song is Fuyu no Hanashi! BUT THIS VERSION is Mafuyama's theme song which captures all the pain, gratefulness and love in their relationship!

4:34 - 🎻🎻the song then finishes with Ugetsu and Akihiko HOLDING onto a beautiful high note on their violins before the rest of the orchestra comes in with a satisfying grand chord. This is Ugetsu and Akihiko musically saying "It's so important to HOLD onto hope that it's ok, everything will be ok."

INCREDIBLE RIGHT?!!! Ok, what you're about to read below is what made me bawl uncontrollably for an hour straight. 😭😭😭

🔑 A HOME KEY is like the identity or soul of a piece of music. Generally speaking, 1 key can be in 2 different forms, major or minor. E.g. the key of C can form as C major or C minor. Major keys usually sound HAPPY and Minor keys sound SAD.*

🔑❤️🔑 RELATIVE KEYS are 2 keys that share the same key signature and notes. In other words, they share the same identity and soul.**

🏁 CADENCE refers to how a piece or section of music RESOLVES. In order for a piece of music to portray certain moods and emotions, music can RESOLVE in different cadences to achieve said mood or emotion. If you want to achieve sense of satisfaction or peace, you want your music to RESOLVE to the HOME KEY🔑. Whatever chord progressions you use must go back to -> Chord I, the HOME KEY so that the music can regain its true identity.***

I hope I explained everything well! I'LL BE REFERRING TO ALL THESE POINTS LATER ON! The *Asterisks* mark what point I'm referring to!

*Ok so, the original version is in the HOME KEY🔑 of F major (Chord I)

***It finishes in Bb (chord IV) so musically speaking,

The original Fuyu no Hanashi song is NOT properly resolved.🥲

This is what we call an INTERRUPTED CADENCE 🏁 in music. It didn't resolve back to the HOME KEY🔑 of F major. This symbolically represents that even though it was cathartic for Mafuyu and he wanted to move on, he couldn't get over Yuki completely after singing in the first-live.

***In Fuyu no Hanashi ~orchestra ver.~, it’s in the HOME KEY🔑 of Eb major and its ending finally resolves 🏁 to Chord I, HOME KEY! Satisfaction and peace is achieved in the music because it has regained its true identity. 😌

Ok, what’s crazy is that

*Eb major is the home key🔑 that musically represents Mafuyama!

Please bear with me! In order to understand how amazing all this is, we have to rewind a bit and talk about the Given OST/background music. The wonderful Given OST Composer, Michiru (she’s so underrated omg)

*purposefully crafted Mafuyu's instrumental theme, "MAFUYU'S DREAM"(Mafuyu no Yume) in the KEY🔑 of C#.

Mafuyu is musically represented by the KEY🔑 of C# in the Given Anime and Movie!

MAFUYU'S DREAM comes on as the very 1st track in Episode 1 where Mafuyu is holding tightly onto Yuki's guitar, looking dissociated and numb on his way to school.

*It's in the KEY🔑 of C# minor (sad) and symbolically represents Mafuyu stuck in grief.

Mafuyu is represented by PIANO🎹 if he's not singing and it's a purely instrumental track. This is because Centimillimental plays the piano and sings and Centimillimental embodies Mafuyu, I explain this in my blog on Uragawa no Honzai.

The Given ED song Marutsuke in the first episode is just a pure PIANO 🎹 track! And then the moment Mafuyu sings, we get the Marusuke version that we all know and love. This confirmed for me that Mafuyu is represented by the PIANO 🎹 in the Given OST!

Marutsuke is in the KEY🔑 of C# major, it sounds more hopeful and shows that Mafuyu is slowly healing!

Then Michiru,

*purposefully crafted Uenoyama's theme, "SUNNY PLACE" (Yo Atari no Yoi Basho) in the HOME KEY🔑 E!

What’s so incredible about these 2 keys is that

**C# and E are RELATIVE KEYS 🔑❤️🔑

They share the same key signature and notes, meaning that Mafuyu and Uenoyama are actually SOULMATES! 🤯🤯🤯

Seriously! Please listen and compare the 2 tracks! You'll hear how Mafuyu and Ue's theme share the same soul and aura! 🤯🤯🤯

SUNNY PLACE comes on as the very 2nd track we hear in the Anime and it plays the moment Uenoyama meets Mafuyu in Ep 1.

It's mostly featuring GUITAR 🎸which is Ue's main instrument!

Pay close attention to how at timestamp 0:05, the PIANO🎹comes in to show Mafuyu and Uenoyama’s first encounter with each other!

*Now this track is completely grounded in HOME KEY🔑of E major (joyful) to show just how warm and open Ue is. It also hints to us that

Ue is the one that's going to melt Mafuyu's frozen heart.

Now as you can see, all the background OST music featured in Given anime and movie MUSICALLY PAINTS Ue defrosting Mafuyu!

☀️ SUMMER E major 🔑❤️🔑

However, Fuyu no Hanashi ~Orchestra ver.~ is in the HOME KEY🔑 of Eb major and that actually represents Mafuyama!

Our singer Mafuyu overcame his parental and romantic trauma and discovered his love and self-expression of music with the help of Ue

Our composer Uenoyama learnt how to communicate, empathise and be patient with Mafuyu and Mafuyu helped him recognise and be comfortable with his sexuality !!!

This musically illustrates that they both put in the work and grew as individuals to unite as 🔑ONE🔑 power couple!

Mafu C# minor -> Eb major 🔑

Yama E major -> Eb major 🔑

I’m actually speechless … isn’t this SO INSANE???!! 😍😍😍

I'm not done yet BAHAHA there is one last thing!

🏁 How this ~orchestral ver.~ of Fuyu no Hanashi resolves 🏁

***Most music if they really want a "perfect" sense of satisfaction, they go for the Perfect Cadence of resolving Chord V -> Chord I.

But in this version of Fuyu no Hanashi, it resolves

Chord VI (Cb major) -> Chord VII (C#/Db major) -> Chord I (same as Chord VIII in Eb major)

by RISING UP to the HOME KEY🔑 of Eb major!

Symbolically it represents that Mafuyu and Ue learnt that they don’t need to be perfect people or have a perfect relationship

They are both just grateful that they are trying their best, help RAISE each other’s self esteem and make each other grow as individuals

These chords parallel Yoru Ga Akeru's ending chords, musically painting, "Dawn’s about to break." 🌅🌅🌅

In conclusion, Fuyu no Hanashi ~orchestra version~ RESOLVES in the HOME key of Eb because they both feel at HOME with each other thanks to Ue raising Mafuyu's self-esteem and his strong RESOLVE to fight for a future with both Mafuyu and music in it. Hint Mix_14/Ch 44

It tells us that

MAFUYU WILL ALWAYS CARRY YUKI WITH HIM BUT IS NO LONGER AFRAID OF LIVING TO HIS FULLEST BECAUSE HE HAS UE BY HIS SIDE.

Apologies for those who found the theory confusing, I tried to explain it as simply as I could! But all in all, I wanted to write this meta because when us composers/songwriters create music, every decision contributes to what mood and emotions the piece gives off! So essentially everything you feel about the Given songs and music were intentionally crafted by Centimilli, Michiru and Erika, right down to the rests in between the notes! THESE EMOTIONS WERE INTENTIONALLY CONSTRUCTED BY THEM and together with incredible performers, their combined efforts are the reasons why Given songs and music are addicting or make us teary listening to them on our car drive home ❤️☺️🙏

I WANT TO GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE: Erika Fukazawa is the arranger of this orchestra version! Usually, it is the arranger who comes up with where to best place all the musical easter eggs....She must have worked really closely with Centimillimental but ultimately, she's the mastermind who figured out how spread the musical symbolism across a 50-piece ensemble that is an orchestra! Her other outstanding works include composing for the hit film, Kimi no Nawa Your Name!! 🤯🤯🤯 NO WONDER THIS VERSION OF FUYU NO HANASHI HAD ME CRYING FOR HOURS!!!

FYI Atsushi is Centimillimental's actual name. I can't seem to find the orchestra that played this!!! It's 100% a live orchestra, there is no denying that! If anyone knows, please tell me! Also if anyone finds out the names of the violinists who performed those solos, please share because I'd like bow down to them!
