SIR JAMES
#mmmmmheeeehoehoheoheo#inscryption#james cobb#lonely wizard#this is Part one for sure i am drawing more james pertaining to his story#but ohhh i adore him he's so fun to play around with#the tights were a placeholder design but it reminded me of ballet dancers so im like why not! he can dance#its a form of art! it pertains to body expression!#and he wants his body to reach an ideal form that he is positive his Master will grant him!#and now we know where the lonely wizard learned ballet. thank you#normally i dont like showing the eyes of a char who wears a helmet or mask but Amber kinda fills that niche in this game for me#and i really wanted to show off ruby mox eyes lol. and he has a beautiful face#i have a lore reason why he looks so similar to her but these tags are too long for now. goodbye#sorry for the trilliax quote

There’s something so intensely funny to me about Donnie loving to dance…but being the absolute worst at it
Like just looking at their scores for the dancing game, Mikey clears everyone, Raph holds his own, and Leo tried just hard enough to beat Donnie, and I find this all so dang funny
This isn’t to say he’s bad at it, we know they all have at least some skill in that area, I just like the idea of characters enjoying something but not being super incredible at it just because they like it! It’s a humanizing trait that I don’t see often
#rottmnt#rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles#rottmnt headcanons#no but fr I hold this close to my heart#side note but I also like to think of Mikey being amazing at dancing but it’s not all that high on his list of hobbies#man’s a ballet dancer and master at their version of ddr but it’s whatever yknow?#just some fun ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#knowing how Donnie is with his video games also makes me hold this hc closer

i've done some horrible things to copia in the notes app but i draw the line at giving him a hip replacement. so my personal hc for his cane situation — disregarding the alternative of him taking one onstage just for the vibes — is that he developed early onset osteoarthritis from ballet and began to manage it. the rats mv was the last time he danced properly, then after the threat of replacement, it was strict physiotherapy and steroid injections until the cane wasn't as necessary as it once was. you can get footwear designed to help with oa, so i'm sliding the shoe moment from rhrn into this self-indulgent ramble ('i'll get injured' = 'things will be worse for me later'). he'll jump around the stage as often as he dares to the frustration of doctors and his mother — and his ghouls, who will help him limp offstage at every show towards the end of the tour and take care of him after treatments. limited movement frustrates him to no end but he'll put on a mask of cheery positivity until he's too tired to maintain it any longer. he'll manage it to the point where it's easier to live with than it was when he danced for the last time, but it'll never be like it was when he was young. he struggles with this more than he does the physical pain. who'd want a reminder of their imminent demise burning at their side with every step? still, he pretends, even if it's obvious to everyone close to him that it's a problem — no need to give them any more reason to end his reign earlier than he'd like
#a ramble inspired by that really nice art i rbed earlier with his cane#and the art where hes like. was a ballet dancer. had a hip replacement. bon appetit#i can't bring myself to give him the replacement though#not even a resurfacing#i had a professor this semester who has made it his life mission to warn everyone about how awful replacements are#he got oa in his knee after a karate injury and didn't stop practicing it#then fixed it with the help of not a doctor not a physiotherapist#but his karate master 😭😭#using my lectures to pass my degree ❌️ using my lectures to give papa diseases ✅️#sorry copia.#this feels weird to post which is why i'm nervously rambling in the tags#i don't post hc stuff despite coming up with loads of it because i'm scared of people taking it too seriously#maybe giving that old man a bad hip is a good place to start#unspoken hc here is that he was a very capable ballet dancer back in the day#but idk anything about that i just know diseases#copia gets away from my medical headcanon-ing SO lightly compared to others#rip terzo i'm sorry you had it coming#the band ghost#papa emeritus iv#posting this after taking certain tablets so i hope its literate and i wont cringe out of my skin tomorrow morning . goodnight

Eddie Munson, Grammy Award Winner and front man for Corroded Coffin, gets roped into doing a Dancing with the Stars-esque show by his manager Chrissy (lost a bet (Chrissy is a dirty cheater)) and ends up getting pair with fan favorite choreographer and dance partner Steve Harrington. Fans love him because of his wit, daring dances, and the fact he looks good with any partner.
At first Eddie hates the idea. Thinks that Steve looks to be a pretty boy asshole. He is but he’s also so sweet and patient and picks songs that speak to Eddie.
Plus he has this gaggle of children who keep appearing at rehearsal and they are little nerds like Eddie.
Shenanigans ensue and there is some stellar dancing and ✨tension✨
And they like fall in love.
#someone who knows dance please write this#I love dance but have no idea what anything is#Steddie#steve harrington#Eddie Munson#rockstar!eddie munson#dancer!Steve Harrington#stranger things#they are in love#I just wann see them do a sick dance to Master of Puppets or some dio okay????

Hello Pia, you recently shared a post about an idea "too good" to write. Could you maybe elaborate a little on that point? What does that mean to someone who appears to be quite skilled in creating stories and characters?
Sure!
I think everyone, at every stage in a skill they're honing, have goals they're trying to reach and skills they know they still need to work on. Even the folks who - from other people's perspective - seem like they (mostly) have it all together.
When I was working as an artist for example, I used inks and pencils at a professional level. I did natural history illustration at a professional level. I was very good at what I did and have sold the vast majority of everything I've ever illustrated!
But I'm still not skilled at drawing people (I'm getting better). I'm not skilled at oil paints or acrylics. And while some of my skills would transfer over pretty well (having a good eye, having a great sense of colour, having a decent sense of composition), it still remains that I have a lot to learn because being skilled in one thing is not being skilled at another.
And when you work like that and understand the craft like that, it gives you a different perspective. Folks who have zero ability in art might look at an artist's illustrations and simply assume they can easily transfer that to any medium or subject or technique, and folks who have more ability than the artist might look at their art and be like 'oh they're very good at animals and pencils but I've noticed they're weak on dynamic posturing and perspective.'
So where I'm at in writing is like this. I have a fair idea of my strengths, but I also have a fair idea of my weaknesses. There's certain very large scale ideas that I suspect I'm not yet ready for, because of either the scope of the plotting, or the depth of the worldbuilding. (I find worldbuilding easy. I find remembering all the details I created very hard).
There's also the fact that some of it is almost certainly fear. Like, fear of trying something new, fear of it going wrong, fear of making mistakes to get better. That absolutely is part of the journey, and the only way to overcome that is to get started and begin making the mistakes.
But no matter what level you're at, there's always a level you know you can't reach without more training and practice. The good news is a person doesn't always have to "grow" their skills relentlessly, just practicing what they love keeps what they do honed anyway. Like, I could stop here and keep writing the kinds of stories I write and do that for another ten years.
But I do want to keep growing, and keep learning new ways of telling stories, so...yeah, I do have story ideas that I know I'm not good enough to write (well) yet.
#asks and answers#personal#pia on writing#on writing#on art#the reality is you can also apply this to any skill#a master chef who specialises in Indian cuisine knows they're not a master of#all the other cuisines they've never mastered#many of which will have different techniques#it's the same whether you're a dancer#a singer#you play piano or guitar#whether you write fiction or nonfiction#there's no such thing as being 'done' and the#more you learn and become skilled#the more you realise that there's endless levels of specialisation#and you actually only know like a handful out of thousands just in your field#or: 'the more you know the more you realise you don't know'

Roger Delgado makes a brief appearance as an unnamed but helpful Argentine diplomat, in Overseas Press Club - Exclusive!: Two Against the Kremlin (1.13, ABPC, 1957)
#fave spotting#roger delgado#overseas press club exclusive!#two against the kremlin#delgado!master#classic doctor who#doctor who#abpc#1957#classic tv#a very pleasant surprise! i assumed i was all done with finding blorbos in OPCE but then up pops Rog for a little scene in the final episode#he's an embassy diplomat‚ which was kind of his stock in trade role before he fell into villain work#not much variation in images bc he's only onscreen for about 30 seconds to give Ralph Bellamy's US newspaperman some tips on#getting his family out of Moscow. I've mentioned in other OPCE posts that the veracity of the 'true stories' told is difficult to pin down#Bellamy is playing journalist Eddy Gilbert‚ a very real person‚ and the details of his marriage to a Russian ballet dancer‚ Tamara‚ and the#opposition they faced from Russian authorities is certainly true; their relationship was well known enough to have inspired a film‚ 1953's#Never Let Me Go starring Clark Gable as Gilmore and Gene Tierney as Tamara (albeit with names changed and some highly dramatic additions#to their story). how much is true of the rest of this tv ep is anyone's guess but it's certainly among the more believable#and there's nothing too objectionable (accounting for cold war era attitudes‚ i mean)

After all that practice it's nice to see the end result. I love how proud their teacher is of them. I think Hopper is like this too. He's tough in class because he knows how the dance world is and that these boys are gonna need some real mental fortitude if they're going to be both successful and stable - he's seen the industry chew up more than one good friend. But at the end of the day that's all he really wants: to see his kids reach their full potential and experience the high of giving it their all. Fame is fickle, but when a dancer gives themselves to the dance and lets the world see that, they create something lasting. Something to look back on and find good.
#harringrove ballet au#character meta#Hopper is a ballet master at the academy#He's been retired from professional dance for over a decade and is enjoying that retirement thank you very much#He gets to eat whatever he wants now and doesn't miss the grueling hours of practice and lack of work life ballance one bit#But he'll always be a dancer at heart and it's what saved him#He gets Billy#Youtube
