So nogitsune is now a werewolf hybrid, so why not shoot it with a wolfsbane laced dagger so at least they can make it weak.
Or I don't know, making the sheriff or Mason draw a mountain ash circle on the nemeton to form a barrier so that nogitsune can't escape.
It's so simple but no, they had to kill my poor Derek 'took punishment on and on until he couldn't' Hale.

This was equally upsetting for me. He's canonically super smart and should have easily been doing anything else. Instead of some random jackass, Mason could have been one of Lydia's employees. He could have been the one who showed her what was wrong with that presentation and convinced her to tap back into that power again. He could have joined her and Jackson on the Beacon Hills return road trip. There wasn't even a plot reason for him to be a deputy. *shakes Jeff violently through the internet* There. Wasn't. Even. A. Reason.
wait mason’s a fucking cop in the movie??? NOOOOOO they did my boy so dirtyyyy WHYYYY WHAT WAS THE REASONN he’s too smart and kind to be a cop. not the parrishification of mason nooo
in my mind bc i am so immaculate and always right mason has a job as something smart and practical and actually beneficial to society and that’s why i think mason would be some kind of engineer or scientist. perhaps even a humanitarian or social worker

I Guess It's Just As Well (But I Miss Your Face Like Hell)
Read it on AO3 at https://archiveofourown.org/works/58484191
by Kwills91
“I miss you so much, Derek,” he whispers into the darkness, and Derek doesn’t miss the shake in his voice, but it feels so much like goodbye. The kind they’ll never come back from. “I miss you, too. You have no idea Stiles.” He has to say it now or he’ll never get the chance. His throat is thick with emotion but he has to push through it. “It’s okay. It’s okay that we only got those few days. I promise. It’s so much better than never having had them at all.” He ducks his head and presses his mouth to Stiles’ shoulder. It’s not a kiss but it’s the closest he can bring himself to giving one, and he lets his lips brush over Stiles’ skin as he talks. “I wouldn’t give them up for anything."

*le sigh* You ever think about beautiful Mason Hewitt, explicitly and canonically gay with a big gay crush on Brett "bicon" Talbot yet fandom has way more content about Brett x Liam? And it's so obvious to black gay folks like me that for all fandom's posturing about "we luv the gays" that doesn't include Black or brown characters. Mason Hewitt should be MASSIVELY popular with thousands of fics, he's got everything they love but he's Black so 🤷🏽‍♂️
Oh, I think about it all the time.
I've said it on multiple occasions, but Mason Hewitt was just the fanon version of Stiles put on screen, and yet he's constantly slept on by the very same fandom that dreamt him up in the first place. I mean, even down to his crush in the broody werewolf who turned out to have a tragic past. What was Brett but a less angsty (and age appropriate) version of Derek?
Brason could have been what the fandom always wanted from St*r*k, and yet... nothing. No, instead we get a fandom that once again turns toward two straight characters who can't stand each other when we first meet them (Liam and Brett) and decide to make them into the latest crack ship.
The same thing happened later on with Thi*m, repeating the same formula of two straight characters who can't stand each other and the fandom's obsession with making them bang. Once it was revealed that Brett canonically liked guys, it's like the lost all interest in him, further proving that despite their many cries for more gay/bi characters (always guys), that they don't actually care. Their many crack ships are just a projection of themselves into a fantasy where they get to bone the guy they're attracted to. I'm sure Brett being into dudes probably turned a lot of people off (biphobia is a very real thing, especially within the community itself).
Hell, the same thing happened with Danny earlier in the show. I vividly remember receiving death threats because I was more focused on Danny, the canon gay character, and his relationship with Ethan than on the crack ship that fandom made up between two straight characters.
You'd think that a fandom constantly calling for more LGBT+ representation that characters like Danny and Mason would practically be worshipped, but they have less fics about them than any of the crack ships.
As a wise mutual of ours says, "but it's not racism!"
At the end of the day, I can't even begin to imagine how you must feel with all of this. I mean, I'm a white gay, and what little representation in modern media there is for gay/bi characters, its overwhelmingly in my favor (and that's still not a lot). So many of these people seem to think that just because they ship mlm content that it makes them immune to being racist or sexist or anything else.
Mason Hewitt should have been a massive part of this fandom, just based on all the qualities they claimed to want over the years, but all we hear are crickets chirping from the fandom when the time came to show support.

Theo Raeken is an amazing character and you can't tell me otherwise.
People keep hating him and even Cody. I mean, I understand if you don't like the character, but why hate the actor? Cody Christian is an amazing person and an awesome actor. If you hate him just because he played a character you don't like, that means that you're just dumb.
Back to Theo. I see all these stuff about him being bad and people hating him, and I'm like, guys, what the hell, have you seen the sixth season? Theo is not the villain anymore.
In season five he was an asshole. He broke the pack, he ruined the relationship between Scott and Stiles, he killed Scott, Tracy, Josh and I could go on and on. He was the villain in that season.
Season-six-Theo? Totally changed. We don't see that only when he takes Gabe's pain, but even before. In season 6A, he's forced to help, but in season 6B? He could have run away. Nobody would have cared if he ran far away from Beacon Hills. But he stayed and helped.
He helped Scott's pack without having anything in return. The old Theo would have never done that. Without him, our little, precious, innocent Liam would be dead. He protected Mason and even tried to take his pain, but he couldn't do it. He wanted to help the human, he just didn't know how to care. Without Theo, Liam would have killed Nolan. I can go on and on.
These things convinced me he changed, that he was different.
Then he takes Gabe's pain. There you say:"He deserved much better." Theo sees himself in Gabe, a kid who chose the wrong side and that probably deserved to die for what he did, but was it totally his fault?
Gabe was manipulated by fear, but especially by Monroe and Gerard who told him that supernatural creatures were bad. Wasn't Theo played as well? He was only a kid when he met the Dread Doctors, and when you're a kid you can be played by everyone. He grew up with them, and when you live with monsters, how do you not become one of them?
Theo is not the bad guy anymore. He's not the villain. He doesn't want power. He doesn't want to kill anyone. You guys have to accept it. I understand you may not like the character, but please don't hate him. And if you do, at least don't hate Cody. He's awesome and doesn't deserve it.

Want You Back
“Why would I do that?” Stiles asks with shining eyes. “Is it just some way to manipulate me more? You already made me fall for you before you broke me, Theo. I don’t know what more you can do.” The teen smells hurt and betrayed. It’s potent enough that not even the dank smell of the tunnels can cover it up. It makes the chimera’s insides more sour than they already are.
"Kit-"
"Don't."
Theo’s eyes burn, the first time in a long time they’re honest to god emotionally fueled tears and not an act. “It’s just one last kiss. You said it yourself, the pack’s on their way to exile me for almost killing Scott. You’re the only real thing I’ve had, Miecz.” Stiles scoffs, but it sounds more like a smothered sob. “You’re also the only reason I’m going willingly. So please,” when the chimera takes a step closer, Stiles doesn’t flinch away, so Theo grabs his hands. “I just want one kiss goodbye.”
How his own voice hasn’t cracked with the massive lump that’s clogged the chimera’s throat is a novelty. There’s nothing he can think of that hurts quite as badly as the idea of never being able to see Stiles again. Never hold him. No more kisses. That dopey grin Stiles gets when he’s rambling about whatever makes him happy, Theo will never get to see it again. Or hear that sweet laugh.
Nothing.
All because what? He wanted power? An Alpha spark?
Trivial things in comparison to being able to call Stiles his.
Stiles looks at him with a trembling lip and nods, causing the tears to overflow. Theo brings a hand up to cup his soon to be ex boyfriend’s cheek. The pad of his thumb wipes away the wetness. He doesn’t miss the slight way the teen leans into his palm. The hardly there scent of love mixing in with his sadness. Slowly, Theo leans in, their lips barely brushing together at first. Until the desperation kicks in and the chimera presses his mouth harder, eyebrows pinching together as he pours all of his emotion into one, singular kiss.
Much to his surprise, Stiles doesn’t pull away when they part, but lets the chimera rest their foreheads together. Theo’s tears fall then, his voice a thick whisper, “please, Stiles. Don’t do this. Please. What do I have to do so you don’t leave me? I’ll do anything, Miecz, just please don’t leave me. I love you.”
“If you loved me, you wouldn’t have killed my best friend,” Stiles responds, breaking out of the chimera’s arms to walk away. Murmuring, “I do love you, Theo. Use your time away to get better.” The teen says nothing else, doesn’t look over his shoulder or even turn around. Leaving Theo to stare at his back as he walks away.
The chimera falls to the damp concrete, crying until his tears mix with the filth on the ground.
“How pathetic,” a voice startles him. It almost sounds like Stiles, but colder. Stoic. Devoid of all emotions.
Turns out Scott’s definition of exile is letting his girlfriend open a portal in the ground that allowed Theo’s sister to drag him to hell. The chimera has no idea how long he’s been here for. But somewhere around the hundredth time Tara tore his heart out of his chest, Theo started to break. Begging her to just end it, that it’s okay, and that he understands. That’s when hell started to switch it up. Peppering in his breakup with Stiles on an endless loop.
A never ending pain cycle that he’s forced to participate in. A marionette that’s forgotten he’s here at times, simply dancing along to the beat of someone else’s drum. Deep down, Theo knows he deserves this too. It’s to the point where he’s becoming numb to the actual pain of his heart getting ripped out. Because there’s no chance of changing things. Tara always takes his heart if he wakes up in the morgue. Stiles and Void leave and then kill him if he wakes up in the tunnels.
He said it himself though, emotional pain is the worst kind of pain to endure.
“Poor, little Theo couldn’t become an Alpha and lost his soulmate. And you sit here crying instead of doing something about it.” Theo rises to his feet, turning to face Void, not like he can escape. Better to just let it happen and start all over again. “Because that’s all you were ever good for,  wasn’t it? Half assed plans that never amount to anything. Just. Like. You.”
Then the weirdest thing happens. Just as Void’s hand raises with the katana, he freezes in place and Stiles’ emotionless eyes stare at him. The chimera waves a hand in front of Void, “what the-” Theo looks down at himself and he’s no longer in the gray shirt and sweats with no shoes that he’s usually wearing. Suddenly, he’s wearing the same clothes he wore the night Tara dragged him to hell.
And there’s a hole breaking in the ceiling, crumbles of dirt falling in his hair and jacket as light shines through.
He’s free.
That was a week ago. Liam busting him out and claiming that Stiles was a wreck without him. That couldn’t have been farther from the truth and he had half of a mind to strangle the young wolf for it. Because after following Stiles’ scent, Theo found himself in the next town over outside none other than Brett Talbot’s bedroom. Stiles appeared to be having the time of his life. Getting back in his truck Liam was nice enough to bring him, Theo made the thirty minute drive back to his house in fifteen; at least the Doctors left him something.
It’s another week later that he's finally able to sleep, but the nightmares of hell come back and the chimera couldn’t stay away any longer. He’d parked in Stiles’ driveway before Theo registered that he even woke up. The teen’s scent has always been a comfort for him, even better when he’s distraught and can’t differentiate reality and nightmares.
Another few weeks pass and he’s shown up outside Stiles’ bedroom window more times than he can count. He waits until his heart rate slows and breathing once again becomes automatic and drives home. Always.
But something about tonight is different. Theo can still hear Tara calling for him. Void’s taunting laughter curling around his throat like a vice making breathing a conscious effort.
A hint of Stiles on the breeze pulling from his open window isn’t enough this time. The chimera is climbing the side of the house before he can even think twice about.
Let’s be honest, was there ever a chance to think twice?
There isn’t when you have one distressed supernatural creature inside of you seeking comfort from the one you love. Now try having two. Instinct is a crazy thing and more controlling than people realize. Add in that not only does he, but his wolf and coyote recognize Stiles as home, leaving was never an option.
But running on instinct means that the chimera isn’t paying attention to all of his senses, only the strongest. Meaning that while crawling through the window, he missed that Stiles’ heart was beating too quickly for him to be sleeping.
“I was wondering how long it was going to take you to show up,” Stiles’ words make the chimera freeze halfway through the window. One foot planted on the carpet while holding the open window, wide eyes watching the teen close his book and toss it on his desk. “You can come in,” Stiles says, sitting up against the headboard, his sheet pooling in his lap.
“I’m sorry,” Theo says once fully inside the other boy’s room, surprised that there isn’t even a trace of anger in his scent. “I- I didn’t mean to come here,” he says, not realizing how it would sound.
The human scoffs a laugh. “Then why are you?” Stiles asks defensively, crossing his arms over his chest.
Theo has quite literally never felt this small, his words just as quiet as he barely meets interrogating amber eyes. “I’ve been having really bad nightmares or maybe they’re memories. I can’t tell. I pulled up before I’d really woken up yet. They- I needed to hear your heartbeat and have your scent.”
“So, what?” Stiles cocks his head, “you were just going to sneak into my room while I was sleeping?” Good to know he's still as sarcastic as ever. At least he isn't pissed.
“Usually I just sit outside for a bit until they’re calm enough that I can drive home,” the chimera says. It’s a feeble defense at best, but he needs the human to understand that he’d never make Stiles uncomfortable of sound mind.
“Yet here you are.”
“I wasn’t in control,” Theo looks at his feet ashamed. “I’m sorry, I’ve got a handle on them now. I’ll go,” he turns towards the window.
Stiles makes a noise. “So you came all this way because you needed some sort of comfort, I assume. And what?" Notes of sadness trickle in with the warm scent. "I’m awake, so you’re just going to run?”
“Why would I stay if you clearly hate me and don’t want me here?” He can’t turn around. If he does, he won’t have the strength to leave. “And when you’re with someone else,” Theo lets that hang in the air.
“One, I’m not with Brett,” the teen says truthfully. “Two, I don’t hate you. I never did.” There’s a rustle and the chimera can’t help but turn around. Stiles has slid down and made room on the bed, and thrown back the covers. "Turn the light off," he pats the space beside him.
Hiding a small smile, Theo does as told and climbs in beside the other boy. Apparently neither ‘were thought he needed shoes. Laying on his back and staring at the ceiling, Theo- out of respect for Stiles- tries to keep his distance. Though every cell is screaming at him to get closer. His fingers twitch on his chest with his force to stay still. But Stiles rolls on his side, facing the chimera.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
His body moves for him, turning to face the human. Theo tucks his hands under his head, hoping that will stop him from reaching out, he’s lucky he’s gotten this far. “I don’t see how that would help.”
“After the Nogitsune, I wanted to close myself off. Lydia, of course, wouldn’t let that happen,” Stiles explains. “She didn’t force me, per say, but she didn’t let me bottle it up either. If you’re comfortable talking about it, I’ll be more than happy to listen. Having someone who cares about you to talk to without judgement helps relieve the pain.” His eyes get a little distant for a moment when he says, “it never completely goes away, but it helps.”
“I don’t want to hurt you though,” Theo admits softly. Knowing that if Stiles hears him talk about Void, he might blame himself.
“How would you hurt me?”
“You know I went to hell, right?”
“After the fact, yes,” Stiles’ face and scent contort with anger. For him, not at him. “No one would give me Kira’s sword to bring you back.” The human wanted to bring him back? Stiles scoots closer until their knees and elbows touch, “please, talk to me?”
How can Theo say no to those brown eyes? To the familiarity of the scene before him.
“Hell is meant to be eternal torture. It started with Tara,” the chimera focuses on a mole on the teen’s cheek, eye contact is just too much. “She took her heart back. Over and over until I broke. Stopped trying to run away and begged her to take it. I would just wait in the morgue’s drawer and let her come, telling her that it’s okay.”
“Theo…” Stiles puts a hand on his chest, without thinking, Theo drops his own to hold it. Stiles doesn’t shy away, but squeezes his fingers.
Wet blue eyes find whiskey, “then you showed up. A constant loop of you leaving me. Sometimes telling me that you never loved me and that the very sight of me made you sick. Y-you-” Stiles squeezes his hand again. “You tried to kill me. Void did kill me. And it never stopped. The two people I love the most…”
Theo was unaware that he was sobbing through his words until Stiles grabs the back of his head and tucks in close to the teen’s chest. His steady heart thrumming in his ears. Stiles’ free hand tubs the chimera’s back as he tries to calm down.
“I’m so sorry, Stiles. I’m so fucking sorry.”
“Shh, you don’t need to do that.” The human holds him tighter, “just get some rest, Theo. You need sleep. I’ll be right here.” Stiles kisses the top of his head, a calming gesture the chimera’s seen even Liam receive. “Thank you for trusting me enough to tell me.”
“You’re the only person I do trust,” Theo nuzzles into his chest, the tears finally stopping, leaving him exhausted. Stiles’ scent invades his senses beautifully, wrapping him in warmth and safety. “Thank you for listening,” he says, the human hugging him tighter at that. “And for not hating me.”
“I’ll always listen,” Stiles promises, “and I could never hate you.”
Theo looks up in surprise, “not even after what I did to Scott,” he whispers.
“Not even then,” Stiles agrees, bringing the chimera back to his chest, his fingers running through his hair. “Now go to sleep.”
For the first time in weeks, Theo didn’t have a single nightmare. Didn’t even wake up seeing Tara in the corner of the room with a hole in her chest until his vision focused. The chimera slept. All thanks to the comforting scent of the human still holding him. The chimera didn’t even toss and turn!
“Do you plan on going to school today?” Stiles grumbles in a thick, sleepy voice. He makes no effort to move. Or let go.
Theo realizes it’s probably because he’s still slinging to him. It takes nearly every shred of willpower to peel himself off of him. “No,” the chimera clears his throat, sitting up. “Probably not. Been thinking about getting my diploma online. Or just testing out.”
“What?” Stiles jolts up beside him. “Theo, you can’t lock yourself away. I get your coyote may not be a pack creature, but your wolf is.” The human puts a hand on his shoulder, “you need to be around people again.”
He’d be lying if he said the contact doesn't go straight to his heart. “Last I checked, I killed Scott for a few minutes.” Theo scoffs, “I don’t see him jumping to let me in the pack. And I’m an Atheist, so Satomi isn’t an option.”
“If you walked up to Scott alone, he’d at least debate before turning you down.” Stiles taps a finger to his lip in contemplation. Theo is hit with a wave of nostalgia, remembering all the mornings they’d lay in bed just talking. “If I went with you…”
If he went with- “what?”
“I was a big reason why you weren’t let in the pack initially. Because I didn’t trust you at first,” Stiles tells him. Which, he knew already, but still. Where is Stiles going with this? “If you and I went to Scott and I told him I trust you, I’m almost positive he’d accept you.”
“Almost?” Theo can’t help the grin pulling at his lips, teasing Stiles comes naturally.
“I’d say like ninety percent-” Stiles pulls a face, swatting his arm. “Oh haha, you think you’re funny. I’m trying to help you here,” he says, getting out of bed and grabbing his towel off the hook on his door.
“Why would you do that?” Theo asks in an incredibly small voice.
Stiles huffs a small breath, “because you may have done some bad shit.” He turns in the doorway, on hand on the frame as he says, “that doesn’t mean you deserve what happened. You better be here when I get back, because you’re taking a shower and coming to school with me."
There’s no way Theo was able to stay there. All he could think about was that Stiles is doing this to be friendly. But the chimera isn’t so sure that he can be just friends with him. Not yet at least. Stiles may have had the time to move on, but he’s had to relive their break up for months apparently.
He has full intentions of getting Stiles back. Make no mistake about that. If last night was any proof, it shows that even if Stiles was doing it from a platonic standpoint, there’s a chance that Theo can flip the script.
He did it last time.
Showed Stiles that more than friends is much better for them.
So he took Stiles’ words to heart about being around people again. Even though he left the teen’s house this morning, the fact that he’ll be coming back to school, maybe that’ll soften Stiles a bit. That he at least listened to what he was told. That Stiles’ opinions still mean something to him. Even if it’s not looking so great.
“You’ve been gone for several months, Mr. Raeken,” the guidance counselor says. “I don’t know if you’ll be able to catch up enough to graduate.”
“Is there some sort of test that I can take?” Theo asks, knowing he’ll pass it perfectly. “Something to prove that I haven’t missed anything?”
She purses her lips, “go to the library, I’ll get the current tests from your teachers. If you pass them, then I don’t see why the principal will say no.”
“Thank you,” Theo offers a smile, turning and leaving the front office to go to the library. He makes it to the next hallway before smelling him.
“You left him?” Liam yanks him around the corner and Theo lets him. Stiles probably wouldn’t forgive him for hurting the young wolf. No matter how appealing the idea sounds.
“What the fuck would you have liked me to do?” Theo retorts. “Hold hands while we walk into school like nothing ever happened? He broke up with me, remember?” The chimera rakes his fingers through his hair, it's grown a bit since he got out. His irritation is much longer.
“He needs you, you dick,” the wolf halfheartedly shoves him. Not meant to really move him, just to prove a point.
The chimera can’t stifle his growl though, “pretty sure him fucking Brett means he doesn’t.”
The Beta rolls his eyes at him, “even I know what it looks like when someone sleeps with someone else to suppress their feelings.”
“Aww,” Theo faux coos, “baby Liam knows about sex now. Good for you,” the chimera deadpans, “I don’t give a shit. I have some tests to take,” he says, trying to shove past the blonde.
The wolf lets him go, but calls after him, “Scott’s having pack night tonight. You’re expected.” Theo stops in his tracks at Liam’s words. “Don’t let Stiles down again. Put on that ridiculous guise he thinks is so charming and woo him. Or whatever the hell it is you need to do. Show up. Join the pack. And make Stiles happy again.”
This is stupid. This is so fucking stupid. Theo sat in the library for three hours taking test after test after test. He was smart enough to purposefully get a few answers wrong so he wasn’t accused of cheating. The chimera passed every test and is allowed to come back to school next Monday, seeing as it’s Friday. But not even that holds a candle to standing outside Scott McCall’s front door with a driveway full of cars.
The dusty blue jeep taunting him.
He can hear the pack talking in the house, having a good time. Stiles’ laughter floats through the glass window of the front door. The sound makes his coyote and wolf howl in his chest. Might as well have their tails wagging too while they’re at it.
Caught in his own thoughts, Theo almost missed the muffled, “he is?” from Josh, the raiju sounds as excited as he is surprised. He wasn’t sure what happened to the other chimeras after he was gone. Corey surely joined the pack because of Mason, that’s a no brainer. But he wasn’t sure about Josh or Tracy. He doesn’t smell or hear the kanima at all, so she’s either dead or left.
“I’ll go let him in,” Scott offers. There’s no malice in his tone either.
“No,” Stiles quips. Theo worries he’s changed his mind on helping him. “It’s a big enough step that he showed up in the first place. Let him knock when he’s ready.” Saying it so quietly, the chimera would’ve missed it if he wasn’t focusing, “he already ran away once.”
Theo’s heart aches in his chest. He never meant to hurt Stiles by leaving this morning. The chimera just didn’t see him not pushing Stiles too far if he stayed. Showering in his house, wearing the human’s clothes, and showing up at school together felt like a statement. One Theo would be overjoyed to make. But Stiles might not have been. If he even thought about how it would look in the first place.
Liam’s words from earlier echo in his head. Put on that ridiculous guise he thinks is so charming and woo him.
Wouldn’t Stiles see right through that? Or was the wolf just taking a jab at how he used to act with Stiles when they were together? That he should flirt his way back into the human’s heart. Theo can totally do that. Even if he feels like half of who he used to be.
The chimera knocks on Scott’s front door, silence accompanying him until Stiles says, “I’ll get it.”
Squaring his shoulders and putting his hands in his pants pockets, Theo tries to exude the confidence that was once effortless for him. It must work well enough, because when Stiles opens the door, his heart flutters and his Adam’s apple bobs around a hard gulp. The chimera smirks.
“Hi,” the human squeaks out, turning a pretty shade of pink.
The chimera’s supernatural creatures preen at the shade, wanting to darken it. It helps boost his ego exponentially, considering he’s just in dark wash jeans and a black t-shirt. Stiles was always one for simplicity. Theo lays on the charm, “hey, gorgeous,” then runs his fingers through his hair. Stifling his growl at the spike in the human’s scent.
“You left.” Stiles’ voice sounds more stern than his face suggests.
Theo drops his voice, leaning against his shoulder and head against the doorframe, “you’re not mad at me, are you?”
The teen’s shoulders deflate, “no,” he sighs heavily, “because I understand.” Stiles’ hands fumbles on the doorknob.
“Can I come in then?” Theo points inside, where it’s still silent, no doubt their conversation is being listened to.
The human jolts, “right!” His hand falls from the door, stepping aside as he says, “everyone’s in the living room. We’re doing pizza and games tonight.” The chimera leans off the doorway and steps inside, closing it behind him. “You can join us, if you plan on staying.”
With his finger and his pointer, Theo taps the human’s chin, “thanks.” He walks past the stairs towards the living room, “so what games are you playing?” He asks, Stiles following behind him. But when he gets into the room, it’s not Stiles who answers, rather Liam.
“Truth or drink.”
Lydia and Scott are sitting side by side next to the young wolf on the couch. Corey and Mason are tucked in front of the coffee table covered with pizza boxes and drinks. Josh is sat criss crossed on the recliner. Leaving the loveseat open, well, half of it. Stiles sits down and tucks his legs underneath him. No Malia or Tracy in sight. He’s not quite sure if he cares enough to ask where they are. He never got along very well with the coyote and the kanima tried to get along a little too well for his liking. No Kira makes sense with all of the desert talk before he went to hell.
“Hey,” Theo says when his eyes land on Scott again.
The wolf regards him for a moment before speaking, “so Stiles says you’re better now.”
“I’m not sure what he means by better,” Theo ducks his head for a second, because dealing with mental issues is a bitch. “But I don’t plan on killing anyone if that’s what you mean. No ulterior motives this time when I say I just want to be a part of the pack.”
Lydia’s face softens rather quickly, “are you okay?”
“There isn’t really a simple answer to that question,” is all the chimera can think of to say. If they decide to not let him in the pack, there’s no need to expose the demons that haunt him.
“Scott,” Stiles shuffles in his seat, “you agreed.”
The Alpha shares a look with his best friend. A silent communication he missed having with Stiles. Scott nods, “I did. That’s why we’re playing truth or drink. Some of us have questions for you,” he explains, “if I believe you’re telling me the truth, then it’s more of a game than an interrogation. Just a fun time with your pack. Okay?”
“I have nothing to hide anymore, Scott,” Theo agrees. “Do I get to ask questions too?”
Scott nods once more, “If it’s your turn. Sit, I’ll go first.” The chimera goes to the only free spot left; next to Stiles, watching as the Alpha pours him a drink before offering the cup. “I’m not here to make you uncomfortable,” the wolf tells him, “that’s why drinking is an option. But if you give me an answer, it better be the truth. Stiles will be able to tell me otherwise, since I’m not sure if I can trust your heart yet.”
“Understandable.” Theo looks at the human as he picks up his own cup, taking a sip with a small grimace. “Fire away,” he turns back to the Alpha.
“Can I trust you not to do anything bad?” Scott asks.
“No,” Theo replies and the wolf’s mouth pulls in an angry frown. “I may not be the Doctors’ minion anymore, but I’m not going to claim I’m a saint either. You can trust that it won’t be anything that would hurt any of you though.” Stiles mouths something beside him and Scott’s features soften, and he gives a curt nod. “Lydia,” the banshee’s gaze snaps to him, “do you forgive me for what I did to you?”
Her head tilts to the side, pursing her lips, eyes flicking to Stiles and back. But then she smiles, “I forgave you a while ago.” No blip in her heartbeat. Her forgiveness means more to him than almost anyone in this room, because she means the most to Stiles.
“Thank you.”
Stiles pats his arm with a quick smile.
“Liam,” the banshee gives him a grin, “are you finally going to tell us the truth about how you feel about Hayden moving?”
The young wolf takes a gulp from his cup.
“I’ll take that as a no,” Mason chuckles, Corey playfully swats his arm.
“That’s more of an answer than actually saying something at all,” Theo adds with a laugh of his own. Scott and Stiles sputter their own laughter and the young wolf growls. “Am I wrong?”
Liam growls again, “Scott, do you plan on letting Theo in the pack?”
“Oh, absolutely!” Scott beams, “we’d be more than happy to have you, Theo.” The chimera’s heart swells in his chest being accepted. Stiles’ hand squeezes his arm again, something Lydia doesn’t miss if her sly grin is saying anything. “Do you forgive me for sending you to hell?”
Theo’s tempted to drink, he looks at the red cup, fiddling with the rim. How do you tell someone who’s just let you into their pack that you’re still a little upset with them for something they’ve done to you?
“It’s okay not to answer,” Stiles reminds him.
The chimera shakes his head, “it’s okay.” Looking back at Scott, “truthfully? No, I’m still kind of upset about that. Why don’t you ask me again when the nightmares have stopped.”
“Fair point,” the Alpha winces. “But you have the support of a pack now. You’re not in this alone, okay? I’ll find a way to earn your forgiveness. For what it’s worth, I’m sorry.”
“Thank you.”
The questions are a lot more lighthearted after that. Gentle teases at one another. Not even when he had the chimeras did Theo feel friendship on this level and it’s only the first night. Then things take a turn and not entirely for the worse either. Everyone aside from Josh is a little buzzed from the unwillingness to answer embarrassing questions. Which adds to the fun.
“Oh come on, Liam,” Stiles tries to say around his laughter. “We just want to know how you’re feeling because we care about you,” he says after Corey had asked him about Hayden again.
“Oh? Is that so?” Liam’s voice is dripping with threatening sarcasm and the chimera has half a mind to be worried that he’s going to pop off. “Stiles, tell us,” the wolf gestures towards them, “do you still have feelings for Theo?”
Liam, you little devil! He’s backed the human into a corner. Because no matter what he chooses, Theo will know the truth. Someone’s been spending a lot of time with Stiles if he’s gotten this devious.
“Do I- um, I-” Stiles’ heart is going haywire in his chest, his cheeks burning scarlet.
Should Theo make it worse? He’s gonna make it worse. Teasing the human has always been far too fun to pass up. Leaning into the back of the loveseat, Theo spreads his legs and drapes an arm over the back rest. Just as he’s about to give a slick comment, Scott pipes up with a dopey grin, “we’re waiting, Stiles.”
Stiles opens and closes his mouth a few times, staring at the way the chimera’s sitting. He doesn’t bother to hold back the slight rumble in his chest, “something on your mind, Stiles?” Theo asks too innocently. The human hastily finishes his drink. Theo can’t help but snicker with a smirk.
“Theodore,” Lydia sings his name, but her green eyes are fierce. “Do you still have feelings for Stiles?”
“Lydia,” Stiles whines, his empty cup sitting in his lap as he covers his face with his hands.
The chimera waits until he can see those amber pools again until he speaks; now is the time to push. “You’re goddamn right, I do, kitten,” his fingers brush against Stiles’ shoulder. The only time Theo has ever said that is in private. Blame the wolfsbane spiked drink if you want. He said it because he knew it’d get an honest reaction out of the teen. And he missed saying it so much that he doesn’t even care that the pack heard him say it.
“Please,” Stiles huffs, “you don’t have to say that for my benefit.”
For his benefit?
Everybody in this room should either avert their eyes or just ignore what they’re seeing. Theo is tired of denying himself what he not only wants, but needs. Or what Stiles clearly wants as well. He'd have backed off if the human turned him down. Knowing Stiles still has feelings for him? That's all the confidence he needs. And he has more than enough liquid courage to claim him. The chimera reaches over to grab Stiles’ wrist, and with a quick tug, his lap is full of a flailing teen. One hand holds his thigh, the other wraps around the human’s waist to keep him steady.
“Theo-”
“Scott,” Lydia chastises, “don’t you dare.”
The chimera doesn’t pay them any mind. Stiles’ wide brown eyes are his only concern. “I spent too long in hell watching you leave me. All I wanted was to come back and have you again. You are the most important person in my life.” The human’s eyes get glassy and he wraps his arms around Theo’s neck. “That hasn’t and nor will it ever change. I love you, kitten,” Theo leans in and brushes their noses together, “do you still love me?” He needs to hear him say it again.
Stiles makes a noise that almost sounds like a choked sob, “I never stopped,” and then he slams their mouths together.
Theo growls low in his throat, fingers digging into the other boy as he pulls him as close as possible. He has Stiles back! Nothing can make him happier than the feeling he has right now. He swipes his tongue along Stiles’ bottom lip, greedy to deepen their kiss.
“Gross,” Liam grumbles, “get a room.”
“Oh, fuck off,” Stiles retorts, leaning away enough to see the wolf while the chimera nuzzles into his neck. He needs his scent everywhere. “I haven’t been able to do that for nearly six months now. He’s right though,” the human turns back, forcing Theo’s head back up, pinching his brows as he does. He was enjoying kissing Stiles' neck, you know. “Think you can take me home to continue this?”
“No,” Scott cuts in.
Corey lifts off of Mason’s shoulder, “aw, come on, Scott. I doubt you want to listen to them if they stay here.”
The Alpha rolls his eyes, “not because of that. You both drank too much, I’m not letting either of you behind a wheel.”
“Great point,” Josh says, getting up from the recliner. “Good thing I haven’t. Give me your keys, Theo,” the raiju holds his hands out. His brows furrow more, but he does as asked, doing his best not to jostle Stiles. “I’ll drive you home and call an Uber.”
He doesn’t need to be told twice. Holding tighter to Stiles, Theo scoops him up as he stands to leave. “Let’s get you out of here,” he nips the human’s jaw, earning him a giggle. All of the confidence he was lacking before, faking until he made it, is back in full swing. Stiles is his again, and he feels like he’s on cloud nine. No need to hold back anymore. He rumbles in his chest while sucking a pretty, dark mark on Stiles' neck. On his way towards the door, he calls over his shoulder, “thanks, Scott.”
“Anytime,” the Alpha laughs and he can hear the puppy grin on his face.
Good thing it's Friday night, Theo has lots of plans. And not a single one of them requires Stiles leaving his bed.

Aside from the fuckery that is the new hunter army, a few positives from the episode.
- Liam is being a fucking champ right now. Taking all the shit going his way like an Alpha.
- Mason and Corey are A+ friends and we need more of them with Liam. (Though I am confused on why the lacrosse mob didn’t beat on Corey after he became visible)
- Malia is a fucking gift. She’s 100% right on Chris should’ve offed Gerard. Chris even nodded in agreement.
- Lydia intimidated the fuck outta the guidance counsellor.
- Malia and Scott are officially otp material. I’ll probably explain why on another post but damn they cute.
- Linden’s directing was top notch.
- Malia and Lydia backing Scott up is literally squad goals (and yes I hate myself for saying that)
- The coach putting a stop to the lacrosse mob beating on Liam and then chewing the shit outta the ones that just watched.
- Parrish burned the fuck outta no face and I just love it when the show remembers just how powerful these characters really are. (Now if the show could just remember that Scott’s a fucking Alpha werewolf and has been for canonically a few years now, that’d be great.)

The way Mason Hewitt gets utterly erased by fandom, replaced by Theo to be Liam's friend and anchor. And I think one reason he's left out of fic so much is because as we've discussed he is basically Fanon!Stiles. And to have him around in a story with Fanon!Stiles would look suspicious because... they're the same, except Stiles is actually nothing like fanon. And they'd rather *die* than portray intimate scenes with Mason because they find Black people disgusting to be frank (pt. 1)
and I've seen it in every fandom. They gush about loving ~the gays~ but ignore canon gay/bi boys, esp if they're PoC. And it's all about straight yt boys boning, and what they get off on. And because they don't find Black or Brown ppl attractive, they get no love scenes. Mason was openly thirsting for Brett, but fandom was silent because "eww, canon Black gay expressing lust healthily?" And this is what we mean when white fangirls fetishize gay/bi male ships/dynamics (pt. 2)
And I touched on that yt fangirls will misappropriate progressive language when it suits their agenda. Like dismissing Scott as a "cishet yt boy" yet worshipping Stiles + Derek. And they often try to make that worship seem progressive by claiming Stiles or Derek are nonwhite/Jewish, or claiming werewolves are a allegorical oppressed group (no) yet ignore Scott is Brown *PLUS* he's a werewolf too, so they claim he's an intruder on ~werewolf culture~ and a colonizer (final)
Tumblr media
You are not wrong in any aspect.
We've talked ad nauseam about the appropriation of mlm sexuality and giving it to the straight, white characters. And as you said, its almost exclusively the white fangirls who get off to two guys together rather in the same way that straight men get odd to lesbian porn. The fact that they don't see that they're just doing the very same thing that they hate men for doing is... well, sad is the first word that pops into my mind.
I know you don't watch any of the SKAM shows, but I experienced a similar problem over there. By far the most popular storyline across any of the remakes is the season three story, that being a closeted gay man coming to terms with his sexuality and embracing it rather than trying to suppress it. But the thing is, if you actually go through the tags, that's not the sense you get at all. Most of the people that watch these shows, or at the very least the ones who are the most vocal in the tags, are only focused on the romance in the story.
They didn't care the actual struggles of being in the closet and the journey that character has to go on to accept themselves. They just wanted to see two boys kissing. That became very apparent during the last remake to do that story, WTFOCK. They changed up the timeline and didn't introduce the love interest until the third episode, and those three weeks were just filled with constant complaints. This was further compounded when we saw the main character, Robbe, do what a lot of closeted young people do, and he tried to have a relationship with a girl, hoping that it would "make him normal". The tags were littered with homophobic jokes about how Robbe was "secretly straight" and it was extremely disheartening, especially from the fandom of a show that preached acceptance.
And you can't call them out on this behavior. I did and half the fandom blocked me because I, an actual gay man, wouldn't let a bunch of horny fangirls be the voice of a gay man's struggle. I was also bugged down with anons (similar to the one that's haunting my inbox right now) claiming that the reason they were so keen on the love interest showing up was because he was a "healthy representation of mental illness". Of course, they then went about proving how much they didn't actually care about that by spending the entire season trying to diagnose Sander at every opportunity, but the romanticizing of mental illness is another matter entirely.
To circle back to the point, we were given actual, healthy mlm representation on Teen Wolf, but fandom outright ignores it in favor of focusing on a non-existent relationship that was based entirely on negative stereotypes. But that's the crux of the matter, isn't it? They don't care how their behavior actually affects gay and bisexual men, so long as they get their own sexual satisfaction. You point out how having an adult and a minor in a relationship just reinforces the predatory gay pedophile stereotype that the Christian Far Right have tried to categorize us as for decades (if not longer) and they cry "it's just fiction!" But these same people talk about the stigma of unhealthy body types for women because the girls of these shows are skinny and petite while able to run marathons and fight of almost anything.
This is never more prominent than when they continously call for more LGBT representation, always mlm and never wlw, and then go out of their way to ignore that representation because it wasn't what they wanted (ie. completely thowing out their stories for Stiles and Derek and devoting everything to making them a couple, often at the expense of everything else.)
The term double-standards clearly means nothing to them.
And we could shout until our voices are gone about the racism in this fandom, but those who perpetuate it don't care enough to listen. They don't want to hear how them going out of their way to erase or put down Scott, the Latino lead of the show, at every opportunity is racist. They don't want to hear how them taking all of Scott's most prominent attributes (his compassion and loyalty and persistence) and giving them to Stiles to make him more palatable is racist. They don't want to hear how them completely ignoring the canon gay characters, who are also characters of color, in favor of taking straight characters and "turning them gay" is not only racist but homophobic.
They don't want to hear any of that. They want to live in their little fantasy world where everyone recognizes their genius and that they right all along. The real kicker is that I'd be more than happy to leave them alone in their own little world, but they refuse to be put out to pasture, hence the reason Athena is still jumping on pro-Scott posts, or that someone posted anti Scott content in the Scott McCall tag, or the ever present anon. They refuse to leave us alone so we have to rehash these same arguments over and over in the futile hopes that maybe this time it'll stick.
