This has probably been reiterated and talked about before, but one of the coolest things about Finding Frankie is the fact that the player/contestant’s need and desire to survive accidentally doomed more people to die, and they know it. Like, we never see their face, but that last shot you can tell that another season means more lives being taken, and it was all because of them…

Okay, so I'm not a Poppy Playtime fan by any means, I only know what is presented in the games, I don't know any of the hidden lore stuff or whtv. I thought the last two chapters were cool but severely lacking but man, Chapter 3 went legitimately hard. Particularly in the topic of today's discussion:

The Hour of Joy

It was pretty clear in the previous chapters that all the coworkers were dead but this one finally shows it and oh man was I hyped.

Throughout the chapter we get teasers to what happened, and I just tossed it all out cause I thought it was just generic horror stuff. Like the hallucination bit with the screaming in the lobby. I didn't bat an eye and just forgot about it till the end. But after watching another playthrough I was like "oh shit" and actually physically sat up in interest.

And then there's the VHS. Everything about that presentation was so cool to me. Firstly, we have the footage itself, which presents a terrifying tale. These random workers just going about another day at the factory. Standing around, talking with one another, all near what they presume to merely be a statue. And the unimaginable occurs. This statue, the same one they've walked past a thousand times pounces on one of the workers, tearing him apart in an instant before setting its sight on the rest. And he had it lucky.

Everybody begins to flee, screaming, begging, questioning. "What was that?" "What's happening?" And then long pink arms dart from the ceiling and pluck them from the ground. More toys converge on them, on workers deeper in the facility who don't even know what is happening. One particular man is converged upon by dozens of the teachers to meet god-knows-what fate.

And then we have Poppy's story. How she heard it all from the case. Could hear them scream, plead, and die. Her voice shaking, on the verge of tears even describing it. "It went on for so long. So, so horribly long." And the name in it of itself. "The Hour of Joy". A chilling title that really lets you know the toys' thoughts on the event.

TL;DR: Mob Entertainment, you did good on this one.

Thinking about how if i ever had the opportunity to make. a mascot horror game or story that i'd have it take place right before the eventual Big Fall of the establishment

Something something reuse how I thought for Security Breach we'd play as Vanessa and the five nights formula was doing the shift but slowly discovering through each shift that Some Shit is happening and she has to stop it (directly before we found out Vanessa was Vanny/Vanessa was the security guard's name)

LIKE!!! I fucking adore how a couple of standout mascot horror games have been [primarily Indigo Park, I'm willing to give it a shot and it's deadass because of Rambley and his role as an AI assistant], but a lot of what I've seen personally (stares at. Fucking. Garten of Banban), it's a lot of post fall. Always investigating or going through the abandoned place where shit's gone wrong (thank you BATIM for starting the chapter-based formula -bangs head-)

But like. I've always thought about what it would be like for a mascot horror game to take place before the fall, or even during it depending on the execution.

Before the fall, you're either a kid who's a regular at the establishment (daycare, amusement park, whatever) or even an employee working there-

(or even MORE interestingly, if we go with a chapter-based thing or even similar to FNAF in terms of there's a set thing for whatever, the POV keeps changing between different people- wait I'm cooking. i'll get back to that later actually)

-And slowly as it all develops, you watch as everything begins to just. Fall apart. Employees leaving, the place coming down into disrepair, something's up with the main mascots of the place but you don't know what (at least in universe, we all know this formula as players)

Actually, coming back to the changing POVs, you can even draw in inspiration from DBH (I only watched gameplay back then oops) where the perspective changes between different people. A child enjoying their day, a first time employee, a long time employee, a parent of a child. Hell, depending on things, you could even have a moment where (depending on the location) you play as a fucking burglar looking to steal shit (before getting. Fucking bass boosted)

And eventually there'd come the inevitable end where it all closes down, leaving whatever living mascots inside to rot (insert Abandoned by Disney line here /j)

LIKE!!! I want to see people expand on the formula!! I want to see people fuck around and find out!!!

Honest to god, I might take this and run with it myself cause now I'M getting ideas.

ive come to create a incredibly lengthy post about the new mascot horror game called Indigo Park

I need to ramble ( haha rambley ) about it as i have just quit twitter for an indefinite time for my own mental health as an autistic cannot last on there at all

anyway, im going to talk about all the reason why indigo park is so good and what i hope from it!! and any criticisms i have for it, i honestly dont have many even though its so early to talk about.

how i found out about indigo park:

UNIQUEGEESE!! naturally, i was watching one of masons past streams on his youtube playing FNF after having rejoined the FNF community after its update and finding out about the mod HIT SINGLE; the mod masons was playing( people know it mostly for the silly billy song ) and he had mentioned about him making a mascot horror game which i shrugged off naturally because i am not a fan of modern mascot horror as most of it seems to be low effort and genuinely unappealing, i knew he had made something that was definitely made with love but i didnt have the will to check it out until a announcement trailer dropped which i then saw snippets of the game and the characters and environment, which i was definitely intrigued so I played the game myself.

My thoughts playing the game:

and found it surpisingly good compared to any other mascot horror game, it was unique, genuinely had awesome character designs and very high quality’s graphics and beautiful models and lighting were stunning, again really surprised having endured the hideousness of other low quality mascot horror games, to then find a game with fucking great models ( unlike banban, 2 billion polygon remote or whatever lmfao ).

I started the game and to be real as a extremely gay furry who loves little silly furry boys i felt like i was gonna explode during every single rambley voice line and animation played and fell so in love with him, now a massive comfort character and ive draw. him like 12 times prior to the games first chapter being released like 2 days ago lol, ive never gotten so attached so quicky in my life which definitely makes rambley and indigo park a really special game.

I really love this game, the pacing is really well done, the horror isnt low quality, the like actual character models for lloyd and molly are really gorgeous, i just think the hair and some of the texturing is over done slightly, but definitely made me shit myself multiple times despite this, all while i was laughing with my new silly raccoon boyfriend 💜💜💜💜

hugeeeeww shoutout to team neutron for the the absolute gorgeous expressive rambley screen animations and the credits theme that left me almost tbe same way portal 2’s credits effected me the first time i ever played and definitely huge huge props to otterboyva for the super adorable voice of rambley.

what do I hope for the future of Indigo Park

I hope for the future of this game that content farms and bootleggers disregard it, but this doesnt give me hope seeing that one rambley plush that a company made before the first chapter even released that was completely unlicensed. I will be avoiding social media in efforts to not see people start shitting on this game if it becomes on the same level and milked by content farms like what happened to the amazing digital circus ( i watched this on the day the pilot released, and was equally devastated as many others to see it being used as low effort bait in shitty kids cartoons on youtube shorts )

People really need to stop thinking ' Mascot Horror = Garten of Ban Ban and Poppy Playtime ' to every single mascot horror game that comes out

There are absolutely way too many people comparing Indigo Park to Garten of Ban Ban and Poppy Playtime

Why can't a game just be it's own thing??

Yes, Indigo Park did start out as a Garten of Ban Ban remake but they wanted to make their own game, it's better than Garten of Ban Ban imo!

Mascot horror gets such a bad reputation that when a good mascot horror game comes out, it's called a ' rip off '

That's why I really didn't want to call Indigo Park ' Mascot horror ' because it narrows it down to a genre that's filled with bad games and people will only see it as a bad game because that's what the genre has a reputation for, people only see the bad

To me, it really is a passion project ( as said at the end of the game )

Staying at a hotel with my friends and I'm only 80% certain the stains on the door are not blood but fuck it we ball

Also the sheets were more secure than the WiFi password, which was 987654321, and the door, which was suspiciously easy to open

Also in the room they gave us first, half of the air conditioner (which was on the FLOOR) was gouged out and I had to go Karen on the receptionist, who actually seemed to expect us to complain, which again seems vaguely suspect

Just saying this is how horror movies happen but now at least the AC is on the ceiling and I've managed to shower (in cold water) and take my sleep meds so the real Horrors now await me deep in Morpheus's kingdom

If this does end up being a horror movie this post is made to assure you that I will not make stupid decisions escape route wise and i will not fall in love with any demonic spirits even if they are pale with dark hair and sad eyes <3
