I think Marvel really missed an oppertunity with Agatha and Rio to have their big sapphic ship they can tote around, ala how DC has Harley and Ivy. They really could have cashed in on it, because it worked so well in the show.

my predictions for the loki finale:

loki leaves in some form in some way to save the TVA. he has to sacrifice his presence and friendships with everyone to save them all maybe he has to go back in time and rewrites the story but he’s alone in the end and he has to take this growth with him and rewrite his story in a different better way (tragic situation). he can love now and that is the ultimate goal of the show, loki can love and he is capable of love and he’s not a villain anymore. in that case the show would succeed.

the perfect ending for me: it mixes an ambiguous/tragic/angsty ending but it doesn’t destroy everything the show worked for. loki travels back to the very beginning when he gets sent to the TVA to redo everything and change the story and save everyone and the show ends with him accepting himself that he’s a better person and he’s capable of trust and love.

will marvel do this? probably not lol. i’m scared.

"Bucky Barnes isn't gay, he's bisexual/straight" okay, you're welcome to your headcanons, but coming from a bisexual here, he's based heavily on Arnie Roth like it's uncanny, their backstories are identical. For whatever reason Marvel fused three characters into one (equal parts comic Bucky and Arnie, with a tiny slither of Hunter aka White Wolf), and literally every argument about Bucky Barnes being interested in women so he can't possibly be gay can relate right back to both movie canon and the comics his backstory is based on.

Bucky circulated through a lot of dates and girls, but never has any significant relationships or deeper feelings for them depicted, unlike pretty much every single other man in Marvel. They also completely glazed over comic book Bucky Barnes' most notable relationship with Natasha (I know there's talk of it being with Yelena instead, which is even worse if they do because she's aroace, there's so little representation for aroace people) which is very interesting to me. Bucky's relationship with women mirrors Arnie Roth's exactly. Not to mention how lack lustre Bucky acts with the old playboy act now, as if he's stepped back into that role because he doesn't know how else to behave so falls back on what he knew from before but really isn't feeling it.

I'm not stupid, I know Marvel is never going to go there because of politics with less LGBT+ friendly areas of the world, but I do hope they at least keep Bucky single and ambiguous. It would also be incredible if Bucky were to at some point use the name Arnie Roth as an alias and nod to the character who combined with Bucky and Hunter. Or even Bucky meeting a teacher called Michael, even if it's left open ended.

Arnie Roth was the first ever openly gay character in any mainstream superhero comic, that's not nothing. That's so tremendously significant, along with the fact he was Jewish too (which fits with the movies too, since Jewish soldiers were eventually given the option to have P for Protestant stamped on their dog tags instead of H for Hebrew/Jewish for their own protection) and I respect people's headcanons but there's something so important about Arnie Roth being respected... Even though I'm bisexual myself, to ME Bucky Barnes is gay.

(also Sebastian Stan has gone on record to say that he's chill with any interpretation and likes that Bucky's dynamics with other men are appreciated. He's also played gay and bisexual men in the past, so he's very comfortable with the idea himself even if Marvel would never go there and would probably snipe him if he pulled an Andrew Garfield.)

My girlfriend and I have a little post-canon AU and a lot of it is just... Loki learning to relax and slow down. Something Mobius has been kinda doing.

I kinda like the idea that for all Loki can hear and feel the timelines while he's a being at the end of time, he really enjoys how much nicer it is to clearly hear stories directly from Mobius' mouth. And there's bound to be anxiety about not doing something actively with the timelines from our boy, and getting constant reminders he's also earned making choices if he can have them. They'll all fight for his ability to have them too.

Also my girl and I keep commenting on comfy analyst Mobius and his eventual returning to fashion icon someday to be boyfriend lol

(Mild spoilers for Deadpool and Wolverine ahead) I thought Deadpool and Wolverine was fun, but i'm lowkey pissed off that it's getting praised for the same things that got Taika Waititi death threats for having in Thor: Love and Thunder. I'm not saying T:L&T was a brilliant movie, but Marvel dudebros act like the whole thing was an unforgivable sin! Even now, people are still unreasonably mad about it.

To give a few examples:

T:L&T has a scene where the CGI of a floating head hologram is not great, and it gets so much criticism for that. D&W has a scene where Deadpool's katana clearly clips straight through his body, which a lot of people noticed but weren't anywhere near as mad about it. Critiscising these kinds of flaws in both movies is good, but only focusing on the flaws of T:L&T is unfair.

T:L&T has been criticised for having too many jokes/ not being serious enough. Yet D&W has so many more jokes/ less seriousness than T:L&T, and people love it. The Thor movies have always had jokes and ridiculous moments, so it's not like T:L&T was a complete genre flip.

The jokes in T:L&T and D&W have a very similar style, D&W just has more r-rated ones. T:L&T briefly showing giant screaming goats is too silly, but multiple scenes of Dogpool in D&W is great (both are fine). T:L&T is bad/ disrespecting the MCU for having tongue-in-cheek, mockery of the genre jokes. Meanwhile, D&W is praised for having 4th wall jokes about the MCU, purposely silly cameos, jabs at DC, and jokes about how multiverses are bad. People love it! Personally, I thought the serious moments in T:L&T were more impactful than those in D&W, which balanced out its light and dark moments better. But that's just my preference.

I'm not saying D&W is getting no backlash. It is, but the overwhelming response is positive, and a lot of the same people who passionately hated T:L&T love D&W. I really did have fun watching it! I'm also not saying D&W is a bad movie or claiming that T:L&T is better than it. I'm just pointing out that there is a hell of a lot of bias there.

Some of this bias must be because people have more nostalgia over Wolverine and some of the cameos in D&W than characters in T:L&T. Mostly, I think the bias is just plain hatred for the fact that T:L&T is a Taika Waititi movie. Certain Marvel dudebros can't stand to see this indigenous, jewish creator being successful! They don't like that Taika is consistently respectful about including minorities too. Sure, I like that D&W at least includes some cool minority characters briefly, but was the use of the r slur and all the offending the woke mob jokes necessary? Nah. People who don't like Taika went into watching T:L&T expecting it to be bad, and everything confirmed it, whereas they had the opposite expectations for D&W, so they loved it (confirmation bias). I'm sorry, but the reaction to D&W compared to T:L&T just proves to me that Taika and anyone else involved with T:L&T deserved better than the vitriol they got.

Rogue/Magneto was something Marvel really seemed prepared to go all in on back in the day. It looked like something Claremont was toying with before he left, and might've got more focus if he'd stayed, but once he was gone and Jim Lee took full control the focus quickly shifted to Rogue/Gambit.

Age of Apocalypse then gave it new life, giving us a Magneto and Rogue who were happily married and with a son. The massive success of that arc no doubt encouraged the writers to keep the Rogue/Magneto dance going, which is how we ended up with Joseph, a character originally introduced as an amnesiac, younger looking Magneto. Very quickly he was pulled into a love triangle with Rogue and Gambit, only for the writers to then reveal he was a clone of Magneto and then died.

I'm fairly sure that was never the original plan, I believe Joseph was meant to be the real Magneto, but the editor insisted Magneto be a villain rather than a redeemed hero and that was the best idea the writers came up with. By that point, though, Rogue/Gambit had become more popular thanks to X-Men: The Animated Series, and Rogue/Magneto soon faded away accept in an Age of Apocalypse revisits.
