ROUND 1 MATCH 41
Tumblr media
Xyx propaganda:
“He's funny he's depressed he's an adrenaline junkie he has a cat he has the hottest voice on earth”
“Actually basically everyone from this game should be submitted but. He has a cat that he accidentally adopted and stray cat and fails miserably at pretending not to care about it while also talking about it every two seconds. He's just so funny and he makes a discord bot to compliment the two of you and. Idk I'm bad with words but I have a soft spot for him”
“my silly little guy who has some bad times. adopts a cat to basically encourage himself to stay alive because if HE doesnt take care of the cat then who will. also his cat's name is Cat. a real naming genius that one. makes a whole bot for the server called hypebot whos main thing was just hyping himself up but will also compliment/flirt with you. i think hes basically never joined a call in the server and no ones seen what he looks like except for the other LIs and the player on mainly his route but he also appears in another. i love him hes so lame /pos”

DAY 16 OF FLUFFTOBER: Singing one another to sleep
Ship: Kora x Martha
Words: 603
Tumblr media
After turning and turning around in her bed, Kora had to resign herself. Sleep would not come. Especially not with the headache and the stomach ache she have had for a few days now. But time was a rare thing these days. Kora had made sure every patient she have had in the few last days were treated first. Which meant forgetting herself and pushing through her own issues.
In her tired self, she was thinking. Trying to figure out what she could have caught. If it was the same thing that the other villagers had caught a few days ago. Wondering what potion could work on her state.
As she was thinking, a hand wrapped around one of her arm, pulling her back to her girlfriend’s arm. Martha’s eyes opened, tired but worried.
Kora sighed, facing her girlfriend with a guilty smile.
« … Sorry. Didn’t mean to wake you up. » She whispered softly and Martha shook her head.
« Don’t apologize. » She said softly before placing her hand on her face. Kora flinched at the contact and Martha grew more worried.
« What’s wrong? » She questioned and Kora shook her head.
« I can’t sleep. Headache and stomach ache. » Kora explained and Martha placed her hand on her forehead.
« You’re not burning up, so it’s not a fever. Could you have caught something? »
« Maybe… » She replied but as Martha kept on looking at her, worried, she closed her eyes with a sigh, continuing.
« But I think… the last couple weeks have been a lot as well. Lots of patients, stress, not much sleep… This might not have help too. » She admitted and Martha’s grip on her arm tighten a bit.
« It’s okay to take a break, you know? Matteo is still there if needed. You’re the first one to ask us to take care of ourselves. Why wouldn’t you feel the same about yourself too? » Martha scolded her lightly as she put her other hand in her girlfriend’s hair, playing with them as a way to soothe her partner. Which did helped as Kora felt herself relax a bit.
Kora knew Martha was right. It was no use being there if she was not in a state to do her job.
« … You’re right. » She agreed and Martha smiled softly.
« We’ll go see Matteo in the morning. See if he has something to help. » She decided.
Kora huffed at that, pouting.
« I could just make myself something. » She replied but Martha shook her head in refusal.
« Nonsense. The point is you taking a break. Not pushing yourself even more. » She reasoned and Kora knew she was, once again, right.
So she let her win this time.
« … Okay. Let’s do that. » She let herself be convinced.
Martha then got up and walked to the bathroom before coming back with water and another potion.
« Matteo gave me this as a temporary pain relief. It should help for a few hours, just enough to get some sleep until morning. » She offered Kora and she took both, thanking her partner.
As it slowly does its effects, Kora closed her eyes. Martha had put her hand in her hair again, singing a lullaby to help her girlfriend to go to sleep. A song her mother sang to her when she was young, she told her.
As Kora finally fell asleep, Martha smiled, kissing her forehead. She then closed her eyes, all cuddled up to her lover.
« Goodnigh, my dear. »

Re: relationships in Potion Permit
The grind in Potion Permit is awful and tedious. The player's options for money/resources definitely fall short of the variety in Stardew Valley or Coral Island. But, I've decided this game is not for the player who actually wants a lot out of the central simulation. This is for the simulation player who wants to see character development in the NPCs, and not just in the romanceables.
Often, the other townies are even more interesting than the dateables. Every single townie — even the freaking cat — has a storyline to unlock. Everyone is figuring something out about themselves, or about the town, or about you, and you just need to get to know them to be part of the process.
As usual, there's a lot of busted stuff around town that only gets fixed as you progress through the game. But, at least the way I've been playing, making friends is part of that progress. Because I'm getting mixed up in people's lives and getting to know everybody, I know I'm not the only one working for the betterment of the town.
So, it doesn't really feel as though everyone is just sitting around while I pay for everything. The mayor, the law enforcement, the crafters, the rangers — they all seem genuinely interested in doing their part for Moonbury, and genuinely grateful for my help. I'm forever needing to chop a gazillion thousand wood and break a bajillion thousand rocks 🥴, but hey, if it helps restore the environment, or helps a mother and a daughter hone their craft and respect each other, maybe it'll be worth it.
I also appreciate the dose of realism the Chemist gives every character whose story involves a potion request. Yeah, I'll give you something for your insomnia, but you still need to work through your anxiety and fix your sleep schedule. We all need to do the work.
Romance in this game definitely leaves something to be desired. [SPOILERS] Once you reach the dating stage with someone, after the thrill of the confession cutscenes, little else changes besides the option to go on a date every now and then. And I do like the dates — I like the idea of hitting the bathhouse with my boo after a long day chopping wood / breaking rocks (gods, so many rocks 😩😩😩). But maybe marriage in Stardew has spoiled me; it would be nice to be able to move in with my Potion Permit partners, start and end the day with them, and get a bit more variety in the cycle of dialogue lines now that our relationship has changed.
As for the options: Rue reads as too young and naive for me. Martha, the first person to try to make friends with the Chemist, is a real sweetheart who deserves to be happy and loved. Leano — haven't actually made level-two friends with her as I don't go to the beach that often, but I can see the appeal. I picked Matheo purely for the tsundere enemies-to-lovers arc, but I genuinely respect his ideals and his conviction. Xiao is logical and studious, but also surprisingly forward — I hear his wanting to spend more time with me in the same matter-of-fact tone I imagine the rest of his dialogue, and it always catches me a off guard. Reyner is a tough guy who needs to soften up, and he has the most suggestive cutscenes. 👐🏼👀
Oh — *is handed a card; squints* — I've just learned that partners don't get jealous if you date other people! That will at least save me from the wood/stone grind of a new save just to explore all the romantic options.
The devs have also said they'll be adding more romanceables. I guess I'll just keep fingers crossed for Lucke (sweet farmer boy genius), Helene (cheeky button-pushing games mistress), and Runeheart (could probably break me in half with her arms).
Overall, this game is pretty low in the mechanics department (seems dumb that you can't use your own healing potions on yourself). But I've still really enjoyed meeting all of the characters and becoming a part of Moonbury.

Nine people you'd like to know better
(Oh gods, do I even know 9 people?)
I'll do my best on this, thanks for the tag @illiana-mystery
Three ships:
Mash Burnedead/Lance Crown (Just started watching the anime, Mashle: Magic and Muscles, and I think once Lance learns Mash doesn't have any magic, they should bang.)
Maki Oze/Takehisa Hinawa (There was an episode in season 2 of Fire Force I just thought could be more intense if they were in a relationship, so in my mind, they are.)
...off the top of my head I don't know if I have a 3rd. Edit, 30 mins later: Actually, my 3rd is Martha and Yorn from the game Potion Permit! Yorn looks exactly like my partner and I of course have gotten us a couple cosplay sorted. But what really got me was as the story progressed, Yorn calls in the chemist (you) to see what's wrong with Martha and she's getting dizzy spells and such and I'm like, my girl, you're carrying Yorn's baby. Honestly, that whole game was wild for me because I could not pick a character to romance, one because Yorn was unromanceable and two, everyone's story as I got to know them I was like, "oh, you're a couple. Oh you're together. Oop, you're together too."
First Ship: Okay, you know what I'm torn so I'm going to include them both.
I think technically Zutara was my first. (Zuko and Katara from the Avatar: Last Airbender series.) When he says, "I'll save you from the pirates." 11 yr old me was shook, okay. I saw the season final episodes when I had not seen any of book 3 and only half of book 2 and lemme tell ya, I was pissed when Mai was with Zuko at the end.
The next big ship I had was Sesshomaru and Rin from Inuyasha. As soon as she came in and was sticking around, 14 yr old me was like, "Yes, she's gonna grow up and she'd have softened his heart by then and they're going to get together." So when Yasha-Hime came out and the main characters were their children. I called that!
The Last Song: Can I swap last song with what's been on repeat in my mind most forcefully recently? Another Love by Tom Odell.
Currently Reading: Part Two of the graphic novel of American Gods by Neil Gaiman.
Last Film: Poor Things.
Currently Craving: The shu cream puffs that Mash keeps eating.
Huh, very heavy on the anime theme it seems.

Review of Potion Permit
Developer: MassHive Media
Publisher: PQube
Release Year: 2022
Tumblr media
I realize this game is a bit older, but I recently completed my first play through and wanted to share my thoughts.
Storyline
You play a chemist from the capital who is assigned to the small town of Moonbury. You quickly discover that everyone hates you and wants nothing to do with you, but the mayor has agreed to let you live in a rundown shack in hopes you can help his daughter. You help her and the other residents of Moonbury reluctantly agree to let you offer them health care.
You spend the rest of the game getting to know the residents, earning their trust and uncovering the secrets of the past that led to the people of Moonbury distrusting people from the capital in the first place.
I found the storyline for this game very satisfying, but it was also kind of short. By the time I’d wrapped up the story I was still making friends with some of the villagers and there were a lot of potions and upgrades that I hadn’t unlocked.
Art
Loved the art for this game! The characters, the monsters, the village and the surrounding environment were all beautiful to behold.
I really liked the photo album in the chemist’s house. As you reach a certain friendship level with each character, you unlock a photo of them. It gives you a better idea of what they look like and incorporates some beautiful character art into the game.
Friendships
Making friends with the villagers and unlocking their stories was probably my favourite part of the game.
Each character had a fun storyline to explore and it was great getting to know them.
My one complaint (and it’s minor) is that I like learning which gifts to give each character in a game like this, but that’s not part of Potion Permit. The people of Moonbury have a tradition where they give each other a certain tea and that’s the only gift you can give. It’s a nice part of the story, but you don’t learn the individual tastes of each character.
Romance
I have to be honest, this part of the game was a little bit of a let down in some ways.
Tumblr media
For one, romances in Potion Permit only advance to the dating stage. You can’t marry anyone or even enter an exclusive relationship.
For two, when I was doing my play through there were only six characters who could be romanced: three female and three male.
For the men there’s Reyner, Xiao and Matheo. All fine choices. I was immediately drawn to Xiao and found the romance plot with him quite sweet. Matheo is the person who hates you the most when you first arrive and at first I was curious as to why he was even a romance option. But the story with him was also really sweet and well done.
For the female characters there’s Martha (the requisite female character who can’t wait to throw herself at you), Leano (pirate empress of my ❤️) and finally Rue, the mayor’s daughter and a CHILD!
I could not for the life of me figure out why Rue was a romance option, especially when there were other characters who seemed like more obvious choices. Bubble is super sweet and kind, and Runeheart is a badass.
Since my play through though it seems they’ve added two additional romance options, Helene and Victor, so maybe there are future plans to add even more romance options. (Like Lucke and Forrest, for instance, or the two women mentioned above.)
I’ll have to go back and spend more time with Helene and Victor. The one nice thing about the romances only progressing as far as dating is that you can spend time with multiple characters and there are no hurt feelings.
Foraging and Potion Making
Considering the name of the game I maybe should have opened with this.
Tumblr media
The gameplay revolves around you heading out into the wilderness where you forage materials using a scythe, pick axe and regular axe. You pick flowers, mine rocks and cut down trees. You also defeat monsters and harvest their corpses for potion ingredients.
Then you take everything home and throw it in a cauldron. Each ingredient takes the form of a different shape and is one of four colours, depending on its element. Each potion requires you to fill a certain shape. Some potions can use ingredients from all four elements, while others use only three, two or one. Somehow you have to fill in the shape to make the potion.
Tumblr media
The foraging was mostly fun and exploring the wilds surrounding Moonbury was challenging, but not overly stressful. My only complaint is that sometimes you had to grind pretty hard to get all the materials needed to upgrade your tools, your cauldron, your house and your clinic.
The actual potion making I found to be a lot of fun. It was my favourite part after getting to know the villagers.
Diagnosing the Villagers
In order to know which potion each villager needs, you first have to diagnose their ailments. This involves completing one of three possible mini games.
For the most part I did okay at this but you eventually get to the point where the rhythm section mini game can be quite challenging. Luckily you can unlock a potion to help you bypass these harder mini games, but only once you’ve completely upgraded your cauldron. I recommend prioritizing the cauldron upgrades.
Cooking
I love cooking in this game! The only real purpose the food serves is to replenish your energy (you can’t gift it) but it was still fun to discover the recipes and ingredients.
The one weird thing is that I hit the credits and there’s still one recipe I haven’t unlocked. Not sure what I missed.
Fishing
The weird thing about fishing in this game is that you can only fish in one of four specific spots.
Tumblr media
But the fishing mini game is a lot of fun (once you figure it out). To fish in the game you cast your line and drag it past a fish-shaped shadow, hoping for a bite. Once the fish is on the line, you reel it in, but the fish will put up a fight. If the line turns red, let the line go slack and wait for the fish to exhaust itself before reeling it in again. (Very similar to Fae Farm.)
Honestly, even though the fishing was fun the limited locations meant I didn’t fish often. It was only when my beloved Leano demanded fish that I prioritized it.
Overall
I had a lot of fun playing this game, but it was pretty short. I’m excited to see some new content has been added and will check it out.

Potion Permit First Time Character Meeting
Tumblr media
Welcome to our Potion Permit First Time Character Meeting Timetable guide. For meeting everyone, harvesting all the forest harvest points, and doing both side jobs when you can talk to the townsfolk. We know that there are people who have a hard time finishing the Potion Permit game. If you are one of those who find it difficult to finish the game, let's take you to our Potion Permit guide. #PotionPermit
Potion Permit First Time Character Meeting Timetable
So on that first Thursday, Myer gives you the quest to meet 10 of the townspeople, but you may want to just meet everyone that day to make it easier to find them with your dog later. I do have the Quality of Life mod installed from NexusMods to increase player speed to make this a lot easier and allow me to harvest in the forest on the side. This guide also assumes you have all the town warps activated as well. This is the rough timetable that I found to get as many characters at once as possible. You can obviously find some of the characters in various other locations, but I didn't search for them outside of these group spots for efficiency. I do include doing the side jobs as well as progressing quests just on this first Thursday. As you meet the townsflok, it should trigger scenes as well. Businesses' Hours of Operation - Townhall 8-15, except Sunday - Police Station 8-22 - Church 8-17, except Wednesday - Bathhouse 9-18, except Thursday - Hearts and Spark 10-18, except Friday - Silky Stitch Tailors 11-17, except Sunday - Farmhouse 7-17, except Monday - Primrose 10-18, except Saturday - Bulk and Build 8-15, except Tuesday - Lazy Bowl Tavern 10-24, except Monday - Arcade 10-24, except Monday Timetable and Locations - Myer and Xiao - in Town Hall (0610ish) - Harvest til 7, then warp to Beach - Hannah, Leano, Victor - on Beach (around 7) - Kipps and Ottmar - outside Primrose (around 7) - Harvest til 8, then warp to Town Square - Derrek and Dean - near Town square warp (around 8) - Garret, Lucke, Mercy, and Laura - Inside Farmhouse (around 8) - Russo, Helene, Dev, and Rue - outside Townhall (around 830) - Cassandra, Osman, Yorn, and Martha - outside Lazy Bowl (around 830) - Olive - in front of Townhall (around 9) - Soceilla - in Church (around 930) - Opalheart and Runeheart - in Hearts and Sparks (around 10) - Reyner and Olive - in Bulk and Build (around 10) - Do church side job, then warp to forest - Bubbles and Forrest -outside their booth (around 12) - Matheo - outside his house (around 12) - Warp to forest and trigger landslide quest, then warp near Lazy Bowl and buy steak x2 for energy - Zeke - near police station (around 13) - Nova - park (around 13) - Mariele - in tailor (around 14) - Warp to Beach and continue/complete landslide quest. - Harvest til just before 22, then warp near Police Station and do side job> - Dan - behind Lazy Bowl (around 24) Read the full article
