um space fact of the day
lmao this is real late but haha
you know how when your science teacher said there was no life on mars? he/she/they might be wrong!
ok lets start out with why they might be right: mars is basically not a good place to live. the atmosphere is stupid thin so the suns deathly radiation hits the surface (evidently not good for life). according to astrobiologists, the “key to life” is our good friend H2O (i have a little rant abt that but thats for another day lol), but all of the H2O on mars is helpfully all frozen up in it’s polar ice caps. all in all, the planet is just a dry, asshole of a planet who seems at bitter as a baby boomer who still doesn’t know how to use a cellphone.
but the baby boomer wasn’t always bitter; there was a time where they were young and full of life. some scientists think that’s the same case with mars: maybe far in the past, the planet did have flowing water, and over time, eventually lost it’s water and grew cold and inhospitable. it seems like a huge stretch, but not really. there’s a lot of evidence pointing to life or the beginnings of life on mars. for example, the 1996 martian meteorite that hit antarctica. the meteorite contained traces of what seemed like the fossils of bacteria, and even a little bit of organic material!
this is a real quick overview, i might to a part two on more evidence l8ter!

*authors note:
aliens are real. intelligent aliens are real. they exist. we exist. we will reveal ourselves when we are ready. life on mars may have died out but we have not. we are here.

#NASA is on its way to figuring out whether #Mars contains #fossilized evidence of #extraterrestrial #life, but a new study suggests the #RedPlanet had water billions of years earlier than previously believed.⁣ ⁣ The research, published in #ScienceAdvances, notes there was water on Mars' surface 4.4 billion years ago. The experts looked at #meteorite #NWA 7533, believed to have originated on Mars, and found levels of #oxidation inside the space rock that suggests there was water on Mars long before there was life on #Earth.⁣ ⁣ Go to the link in our bio for more on this story. ------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us to stay informed with the latest BreakingNews & Updates from around the world @world_news_app Must visit our World News website for daily news & updates from around the world at https://worldnewsapp.online Get all the latest news & updates on American Politics, Election 2020 and other trending topics on our US-specific News app: bit.ly/USNewsPro Get all the latest news & updates about United Kingdom, UK Politics, Royals and other trending topics on our UK-specific News app: bit.ly/UKNewsPro Stay informed with all the latest technology news, AI, ML, IoT, Science & more from around the world. Happy Tuesday everyone!
This weekend was amazing! Seeing Misty Copeland was amazing! In fact, I found myself crying halfway through. I know your girl is kind of a sap lol.
At first, I wasn’t sure why. I’m not someone who usually cries when I see dance shows lol. It actually took a few days for me to find the reason. I realized that one doesn’t need to say anything to evoke emotion. In fact, they don’t need anything but to bare their soul in an authentic way. I had previously believed that you had to speak to be heard. The reality is it’s the actions that speak louder.
On a side note, the venue was pretty big for a ballet. Like that proscenium be LIT. Then again it’s The Nutcracker which means big everything. Plus I got to see adults dance onstage as mice, bubble bees, and other woodland creatures. Who wouldn’t want anything more?
Moral of this experience? Geneva is a sap and is a big kid lol. But seriously, it’s about being authentic in whatever you choose to do. Otherwise your not being honest with yourself or the world.
With that being said, I hope ya’ll have a great night/day!

NASA released an animated video showing its Perseverance Rover on Mars. The rover is seen moving on the surface of the red planet as the area in its vicinity gets lit in white colour while lines showing the position of wheels form. On Twitter, the video was shared by the official handle of NASA's Perseverance Rover on Mars. It read, "With no road maps on Mars, I'm building my own as I go. There are lots of places I want to explore, and mapping, while I drive, will help me see and do more. Let the road trip begin." . . . Like ❤️ Save 🔐 Share ⬆️ and Comment 💌 . . . For the first time ever, the Hawaii Space Exploration Analog & Simulation (HI-SEAS) project, which tests how humans would endure the isolation of a #Mars mission, will include participants from four different countries of origin. "For humans to successfully undertake a long-duration spaceflight to Mars, it will require a global collaboration, and so it seems appropriate that our Mission VI begins with this spirit of internationalism," said Kim Binsted, HI-SEAS Principal Investigator, in the statement by the University of Hawaii, where HI-SEAS is based. The participants are Sukjin Han, assistant professor in Economics at the University of Texas at Austin; astrobiologist Michaela Musilova, who is also the chair of the Slovak Organisation for Space Activities; Lisa Stojanovski, a science communicator managing the Australian chapter of the Space Generation Advisory Council; and astrophysicist Calum Hervieu, a systems engineer from rural Scotland. At 5 p.m. Hawaii local time on Thursday (Feb. 15), the four participants of the HI-SEAS Mission VI crew, who herald from Korea, Australia, Slovakia and Scotland, respectively, began their eight-month stay inside a dome habitat atop Mauna Loa on the island of Hawaii, according to a statement from University of Hawaii. The mission's goal is to determine the long-duration requirements of a future crewed mission to Mars. HI-SEAS is a @nasa -funded project, and is now in its sixth year.
