I got terrible photos cos Academy 1 means no close up accessibility, so we were on a frankly not great balcony (the metal railing topping the barrier was literally directly in my line of sight so I had to sit real forward and up on my chair so now my thighs are KILLING ME but it was so fucking worth it) and very far away, but being high up was nice!

They absolutely killed it, played some songs I haven't seen live before INCLUDING all three new songs (and Waiting on the Sky to Change!!)!! Ah, one of my most anticipated GMMTV shows and one that's gotten generally good reception, what a treat. I'd debated watching it as it was airing, especially because I was getting a lot of tweets on my For You when the first few episodes were airing but was nervous about it ending badly, so I waited, and I hope I love it now. I just reread my initial thoughts from GMMTV 2024 Part 2 Showcase, seems like I had A Lot of thoughts lol.

A fine final episode, I don’t Love it but they didn’t fumble it either. I liked getting to see ThamePo be cute and domestic again in the end.

Overall Thoughts:

It’s a tragedy how rarely I watch GMMTV shows nowadays, so I'm happy when I find out that it perfectly fine even if I don't love it. For example, the last GMMTV show I watched was 8 eps of Perfect 10 Liners and it was bad and I shouldn't have even started it. Before that, I'd watched Cherry Magic TH in August 2024 and that was also pretty good, liked it the same as ThamePo and I'm glad I watched it after hearing good things. In June 2024, I had started watching Wandee Goodday while it's on-air but got too frustrated and stopped watching around 8 episodes in I believe, rip. And also had 23.5 and Only Friends disappointed me in May that year. I did watch The Warp Effect earlier and really like that though!

So, I've been very cautious about watching GMMTV shows, which is a disappointment because there are many that I'm curious about and want to watch. ThamePo was one such show, I Adored the pilot trailer and I love reading canonverse idol fics and love celeb/non-celeb storylines. So I was glad that ThamePo was getting good reviews, whew.

Overall, an enjoyable show and I like the relationship between Thame/Po and also Thame & Mars. I also liked getting to see my beloved celeb/non-celeb trope and also idolverse trope (though I didn't actually watch or listen to much of the songs/performances, they weren't for me). The show seemed polished in terms of direction, cinematography, styling, etc; they followed the kdrama styling that it seemed like they were aiming for.

However, I do think being so into kpop hindered my enjoyment when it strayed from like... what makes sense. I couldn't figure out how popular Mars were first of all (they're Oner's biggest money makers? but apparently not worth it to just keep 4 of them going while Thame goes to Korea? and also this was their first music show win despite being so popular? but they also achieved PAK?! a much more difficult thing? And people wouldn't care about the other 4 members but would be all up in arms about Pepper having a girlfriend? Why would Korea want to poach a member from an existing Thai boygroup instead of just getting Thai trainees? Thame is popular enough that apparently a Korean company does want him but nobody except paparazzi got pictures of Thame and Po being affectionate in public?). So, how could all of these things be true, are they popular or not and to what degree? I think they should have come up with a better reason for Thame going to Korea because the setup makes no sense. Maybe Mars could've been a really struggling group and Thame goes really viral in Korea for a kpop song cover or something and thus a company wants to poach him. Oner could have been a smaller company who would be incentivised to give up Thame because the contract looked good but not have the resources to keep a struggling group like Mars going. Then, they could've showed that Thame's virality could be translated to Mars' popularity or that he could do 50/50 Korean-Thailand or something else that makes more sense idk. Anyway, this is somewhat nitpicking and somewhat actual criticism.

Thame: I think we got to know him a lot and he wasn't a flat character to just imagine a stock love-interest onto, like we knew his personality, but I wish he was a bit more flawed? Like he's just... so kind and nice to his friends and bandmates and Po. He may have almost accidentally hurt Po in the beginning if he didn't realize his feelings, so he needed a nudge with that, but that was solved very quick! I wish all his wants weren't so... selfless? in regards to wanting the best for his Mars team members. I don't know lol I enjoyed the irritating celebrity persona he had in ep 1 and obviously that's not him, so I don't expect that to have continued, but I liked the fact that he appeared flawed in the beginning.

Actually maybe his jealousy is a flaw? But I enjoyed him being jealous of Jun and Po thoroughly, he had fun reactions but never went too far and tell Po to stop hanging out with people or anything. I wasn't into JunPo either so I think I was more receptive to Thame being annoyed by it loll

Po: I liked Po, I sympathized with him maybe feeling directionless and also feeling left behind by his ex but choosing to leave Thame when need be. I'm not super obsessed with his character but he was a fine enough lead and had depth/matched the themes of the show.

I'd be curious to see if ThamePo will have more shows. If they do, I hope it's another similarly interesting show with plot rather than getting pushed into a We Are/Perfect 10 Liners type thing.

I had watched this apparently since my Youtube had the red bar, even though I don’t tend to watch trailers especially not the full trailer. I don’t remember this trailer at all and the OST is like fine yknow but this didn’t really affect me that much. Like I think the concept would have interested me if I came across this trailer first bit it specification wouldn’t have made me as excited as the Pilot

Such a good trailer, half thanks to I Remember as the background music and the way it was weaves into the trailer. This really made me excited for the idol verse celeb/non-celeb drama and WilliamEst had outpouring chemistry. Nothing beats the Bad Buddy pilot trailer but this one is good too.

🖼 : first amv/pmv you ever watched? - i cannot remember. i watched sooo many amvs as a kid. not my FIRST amv, probably, but one of the earliest i recall is ashfur's revenge, which is delighting me so much to rewatch. this one was formative for me, i miss the style of flash-animated warriors amvs that (obviously:() aren't around anymore. i also have such a soft spot for tigerclaw is not one of thunderclan, one i was thinking about the Entire Time i was writing the exile scene in spottedfur's pride lol. i still love it so much, this is my first time rewatching it in like... a decade, im sure. its so good. im kind of blown away as i rewatch these that they ARE as good as they are, cuz i feel like it's common in the warriors fandom to treat old amvs as some cringeworthy lost art (in general i have strong opinions on how (unintentionally)cruel the internet starts being to things as soon as they enter "nostalgia" territory) - but there's still, like, genuine talent in these. there's a reason these amvs were as popular as they were, and not because we were all cringe 10 year olds who didn't know better, lol. also reminds me of tigerstar and the dog pack(be prepared) - which is one i have the most vivid memory of watching on my family computer, hehe. in general i love corvus katana's stuff, past and current oh my god i will never get this ask posted because i keep remembering ones that helped, like, form a lobe of my brain growing up. midday tuesday

sort of getting a handle on the volume of work i have to do. ough. writing this tuesdaypost while i wait for the initial step of a simulation to finish running so i can see if what i'm doing is correct.

listening: listening to haken's fauna album again because i'm seeing them live soon (!!)

next listening (against my better judgement because you can probably figure out where i live based on it): local bar had some bands this past weekend, i missed the first group (dopplepopolis) unfortunately because i am chronically late to things that don't have consequences but allegedly they did a holst mars cover ?? which sounds fascinating and i'm so mad i missed it. the second group was alright (the lunar diamonds), pretty good stage presence and they clearly had a lot of fun but their original songs were a little forgettable to me, their cover of psycho killer WAS a banger. i'm very sad they don't have that put up on spotify. but the third group (please her). oohhhh baby. i fell a little bit in love with the lead singer, not gonna lie! i went and listened to their spotify and while some of it really doesn't hit the same as the live performance it's still very fun. she had a spray bottle full of water and was periodically spritzing the audience. at the very end she was like "welcome to church, you may be seated" and had us all sit/crouch on the floor to listen to her announcements about the band over a groovy backing track. their bassist is INSANELY good too. mans be slappin that thang. they listed their genre as "scorpion core" which i still do not understand but god bless 'em.

anyways. they have one album out right now (bandcamp / spotify) and it's worth giving a listen. favorite track: 12 @ the Party, followed closely by Fellas!. i will probably buy it next bandcamp friday.

the lunar diamonds only have one track up on spotify but it is one of their originals that i found toe-tappy: Treads

i'll have to give the band i missed a chance but it will likely not hit the same as if it were live. c'est la vie

finally, haven't finished the release radar for this week yet, but i do really love ethan bortnick. the way he meshes classical-inspired piano with the alt beats is just so fun. hide n seek

reading: next mdzs book came in from the library! truly nothing like the rush of getting the notification "your book is ready to take out" before the estimated date :3 so i'm a little ways into volume 2 now, we're in yi city, xue yang is soooo much more obviously desperate to get xiao xingchen fixed in the book than in the show. loser (affectionate)

watching: next verse same as the first. dungeonmeshi and kill la kill with boyf. the kelpie animations were really fun and also the kraken !! good shit. there are other posts that have explained this better but i love the way trigger is animating the backgrounds. as for klk, we're on ep15 now! i have forgotten sooo much of this show, nui harime showed up and i was like oh SHIT i forgot about her !! entirely!!! so it's been a really fun rewatch.

playing: ran dnd saturday and played dnd on monday! saturday dnd defeated the mdzs dancing fairy :b at some point i will probably design something that involves finding a haunted arm pointing in a direction to reuinite its body a la nie mingjue but we've got some very strong anti-undead characters in this party so that may not go over very well. monday dnd involved getting hunted by a spooky fey hyena and getting robbed by a goblin group. something something goblin microaggressions. still fun even though i was VERY sleepy by the end of it.

making: pottery that i FORGOT TO PHOTOGRAPH ... i was like "i'll take pics at open studio saturday" and then the kiln was running so, on one hand, yayyyy kiln! on the other, no pics for this tuesdaypost. so. more pics next week. i did make some hopefully-teacups for my bf, depending on how severe the shrinkage is, but these are the smallest items i've been able to make (0.5lb clay) and it's sooo much harder than i thought it would be. pics with ruler for shrinkage measuring purposes

you might catch in the first photo that the top cup has noticeably thicker walls than the others ... don't worry about it ......

eating: coconut fish and tomato bake thing that i added too much lime to by accident but still tasty... sheet pan tofu and brussel sprouts!!!! so this is an elite one, adding to the arsenal. literally just halve the sprouts and cube the tofu, drizzle w olive oil and salt and peppy, roast at 450 til its. done. whenever. while that's roasting make rice. the sauce is 1:1 ratio of tahini to hoisin sauce with minced garlic to taste. it is To Die For and SO easy. last night roommate made turkey meatballs with couscous and even though the couscous burned just a little bit it was still yummy!

misc: turns out ... if your body wants ~9 hours of sleep a night but you make it live off of 7 for weeks on end ....... eventually you will get sick LOL. probably partly alcohol ibs stuff but still. sunday was a total wash for me and i went to bed at 10pm and felt normal monday morning. so. i need to just be going to bed earlier (pain). work this week not as terrible at least. i am doing my shit that i need to be doing and it's going okay! which is good because i'm calling it an early week kinda for that concert hehe. oh valentines day! boyf got me a little leatherman multitool keychain and it's so cute and i love it, and i got him a bird scope phone holder so he can take bird photos easier!!!

A few years back, my wife decided we would add a meatless day to our meal schedule for the week. It took me a while to get used to it. But I gotta say I feel so much better because of it. Now I’ve come to realize I really don’t need meat in my diet. Not that I don’t eat it. But I don’t feel the need to spend the money to do so. We went to the grocery store last week and the price of a steak was insane, like double what it used to be.

Giving up meat can be difficult, but it’s one of the most impactful things that anyone can do to lower their personal carbon footprint and send a bigger message about sustainability in our agricultural system.

Now I eat mostly veggies. Garbanzos are a new favorite. We have a super simple recipe that makes yummy garbanzos to go on rice and veggies. I also make my hummus. I even found this great recipe for lentil pancakes. They’re sooo good.

There are so many great vegetarian and vegan recipes I found on YouTube. I’m eating them up. And yet, we still eat chicken and salmon and steak and carnitas depending on our mood. But it feels good to not feel stuffed full of meat.

Kon has come to visit Danny a few times and found him floating in the middle of his room in his ghost form, Damian fast asleep on his chest and all wrapped up in his scarf. Danny's conjured floating stars around the pitch black room that are all steadily orbiting around them. Danny is making this strange, humming-purring sound. It's totally inhuman and hauntingly beautiful.

SPEAKING OF MUSIC. Clone^2 Danny and Damian's whole vibes are based off Sleeping At Last. But in particular Danny is Nine, Two, Pluto, and Damian is Eight and Saturn. This is PURELY so i can spread Sleeping At Last Agenda and inflict you with Emotions that these songs Inflict On Me. (Also Neptune, Mars, and Earth. Mars in particular i imagine Danny saying to Damian)

Sometimes he gets to stick around and he sits on the floor with his head in his arms, hearts in his eyes, as Danny create this whole new mini solar system around them.

THEY ALSO GO FLYING TOGETHER. GraHH. They can both go so far up. They have races. Them doing that thing where they both go up up up, and then fall together, catching themselves before they can hit the ground.

SO MANY REGRETS WITH INTRODUCING DANNY'S FRIENDS TO KON'S. You just kNOW that Bart is trying to race Johnny 13. Everyone loses here. He also wants to race Danny. Tucker is showing off his PDA to Tim and Sam is talking to Cassie. Kon and Danny are off somewhere.

They have sleepovers and stay up late playing video games. Damian is positively determined to stay for the whole thing. He sits in Danny's lap the whole time and Danny uses him as a personal headrest -- as is the cost of staying awake and being there. Baby Dames always ends up falling asleep before 10. There HAS been a recreation of the Penny Snapcube Mr. Crocker Breakdown if only so that I can make Danny be Penny and absolutely lose his shit laughing with everyone.

yes yes yes. Kon sees Danny with the Long Ass Hair and promptly short circuits. Forgets how to speak and cycles through gibberish, kryptonian, some other alien language he learned off planet, before then finally landing on english. Only to spit out a Li Shang-levels of pathetic "you- you look good" line and promptly wish he had danny's intangibility so he could sink through the floor.

Danny with even longer hair means Kon gets to play with even more of his hair. Danny's working on some little pet project (NOT Kon's birthday present) and Kon is sitting behind him, his chin hooked over his shoulder, while he has one arm wrapped around his waist and the other hand is playing with his hair. This can and will result in Danny falling asleep.

(Danny is SO thrilled to meet Green Lantern and has a dozen questions for him about the other star sectors he's been to. Hal is RADIATING smugness. Bruce will never live this down.)

Kon absolutely loves seeing Danny in makeup. It's like, one of his favorite things ever. Eyeliner sharp enough to kill a man and the dark red lipstick?? He's gonna go wild. Danny's never gonna make it out the door, Kon is kissing it off him within minutes. Danny's makeup is smudged up and his lipstick is practically smeared off, and Kon is all but (messily) wearing it himself while looking like a smug cat.

"I have to go fix it now." Danny is grumbling, but his face is all pinkish and he's not all that upset tbh. Kon's got both his hands curled around Danny's waist. His fingers are a few inches shy of touching.

Kon just hums lowly and idly licks his lips, "I don't know," he says, "I think you look nice this way."

Which is, of course, the best way to make Danny flush perfectly scarlet down his throat and for him to laugh all truly bashful, and half-heartedly push Kon's face away with his palm.

Could you do an analysis of Conner's character with the song "I'm Still Here (Jim’s Theme from Treasure Planet)"

Because there is some correlation there but my mind ain't thinking of the words to form a sentence about it. And I've been listening to it for days- and want to hear someone talk about it. My favorite cover is Annapantsu's.

Just imagine Conner mumbling the lyrics under his breath and fumbling his fingers on the strings of the guitar mimicking its melody. He'd be so sad but finds comfort in a song that reflects his hope and his situation he was in. Like brrruuuhhh, cause I get that feeling when a song relates to me a lot and still wishes hope for the listener. Anyway got songs that makes you think of Superboy?

GOD. it's been AGES since i've seen this movie but this song is giving me brainworms. Jim even has an undercut and an earring and a cool jacket in the movie im getting ideas uh oh...

anywaysss this song is very fitting in general for like young ppl trying to grow up and form their own identity but it fits so well with kon like.

"i am a question to the world/ not an answer to be heard" idk but this is like his debut and clone origins in ROTS i guess, like what will the world look like without superman. actually i think part of kon's early character was based on the question "what would superman be like if clark was not raised by the kents when he was young?"

And then the whole "Im not here" to "Im still here" just gives me the vibes of him hating being called superboy and the very thought of being STUCK as superboy and never getting a chance to be superman, to him accepting the title and saying things like "I'm superboy! I don't have a mother or father--all I got is who I am!" LIKE no matter what he will get up again and give his whole heart and everything into things
