me i do this at work but instead of a fancy glass and lime its just in a mcdonalds cup with a different lid on it
one thing no one ever teaches you is that you can just make things nicer and more intentional- you can take your energy drink, pour it in a rocks glass over ice with a slice of lime on the rim, and sip it slow. and you'll think, "wow i am the biggest faggot to have ever lived". and you know what? you're right.

If smoking can truly help forget things, it would definitely be worth considering. drone wonders how much easier it would be to let go of thoughts and memories, and just serve.

Composer and conductor, Elmer Bernstein, was American. He composed "some of the most famous and unforgettable themes in Hollywood history" during a career spanning more than five decades. His work includes over 150 actual movie scores as well as soundtracks for about 80 television projects. He got an Academy Award and a Primetime Emmy for his contribution on Thoroughly Modern Millie (1967). He was nominated for two Tony Awards, and five Grammy Awards, and got seven Golden Globe nominations. Elmer Bernstein Early Life: Born into a Jewish family in New York City, Bernstein was the son of Austria-Hungarian-born Edward Bernstein (1896–1966) and Selma (née Feinstein, 1901–1991; born in Ukraine). Bernstein worked professionally as a dancer, an actor (playing Caliban in The Tempest on Broadway), and a painter while still in his early years. He also won awards for each of these pursuits. He was a music enthusiast who went to the forward-thinking Walden School in Manhattan. Henriette Michelson, a Juilliard teacher who helped him for the entirety of his piano career, gave him a piano scholarship when he was twelve years old. She brought him to perform some of his improvisations for the composer Aaron Copland, who was supportive and chose Israel Citkowitz to be the little boy's tutor. Elmer composed music for the Armed Forces Radio while serving in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. The sections of Big Jake, Amazing Grace, Chuck, and Elmer Bernstein's spirited score for the 1958 motion picture adaptation of Erskine Caldwell's novel God's Little Acre are just a few examples of Elmer Bernstein's music that share some stylistic similarities with Aaron Copland's. He also composed music for Gregory Peck's movie Chuck. Career: The Magnificent Seven, The Great Escape, The Ten Commandments (1956), True Grit, The Man with the Golden Arm, To Kill a Mockingbird, Robot Monster, Ghostbusters, Baby the Rain Must Fall (1965), and The Fanfare used in the National Geographic television specials are just a few of the movies and TV shows for which Bernstein composed the themes or other music. Television viewers are also familiar with his The Magnificent Seven theme because it was featured in Marlboro cigarette commercials. Additionally, Bernstein composed the music for a large number of Ray and Charles Eames' short films. Along with Fred Astaire, Jackie Mills, and Tommy Wolf, Bernstein co-founded Äva Records in 1961, a United States record company with headquarters in Los Angeles. Hollywood Blacklist (1950s): Bernstein was targeted for criticism during the McCarthy era in the 1950s, along with numerous other Hollywood creators. When it was revealed that Bernstein had published some music reviews for a Communist journal, the House Un-American Activities Committee called him. He was forced to write music for films like Robot Monster and Cat-Women of the Moon instead of his earlier work on Sudden Fear and Saturday's Hero when he refused to name names and claimed that he had never been to a Communist Party conference. Elmer Bernstein - conductor Comedic Work (1980s): Bernstein's kid, John Landis, grew up close to him. Years down the line, despite the studio's protests, he asked Bernstein to write the score for National Lampoon's Animal House. He indicated to Bernstein that he believed that his music, which was performed straightforwardly as though the humorous members of the Delta fraternity were real heroes, would emphasize the humour more. A minor inversion of a secondary motif from Brahms' Academic Festival Overture serves as the basis for the movie's opening tune. For the next 15 years, Bernstein composed music for most of Landis's films, including An American Werewolf in London, Trading Places, and the music video for the Michael Jackson song "Thriller." After accepting the job, Bernstein's career experienced a second wave. He also worked on notable comedies like Ghostbusters, Stripes, Airplane!, and The Blues Brothers.
Contributions in 1990s: Bernstein modified Bernard Herrmann's original score for the new version of Cape Fear after Martin Scorsese revealed he would remake the movie. The chance to collaborate with Scorsese and pay homage to Herrmann, was eagerly seized by Bernstein. Later, Scorsese and Bernstein collaborated on two additional movies: Bringing Out the Dead (1999) and The Age of Innocence (1993). The original, unfinished Herrmann score for Alfred Hitchcock's 1966 film Torn Curtain was originally conducted by Bernstein. Between 1939 and 1950, Bernstein performed as a concert pianist and also composed a large number of classical works, including three orchestral suites, two song cycles, various works for viola and piano, solo piano, and a string quartet. Bernstein studied composition with Aaron Copland, Roger Sessions, and Stefan Wolpe. Other Contributions: Bernstein met Christopher Parkening, a classical guitarist while serving as president of the Young Musicians Foundation. Bernstein then wrote a concerto for guitar and orchestra, which Parkening recorded in 1999 for the Angel label with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Bernstein. In the early 1970s, Bernstein also served as conductor of the San Fernando Valley Symphony in addition to being a lecturer at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music. Death: In the 1990s, the Bernsteins lived in the Santa Barbara, California, community of Hope Ranch. They later relocated to a house in Ojai, California, where Bernstein passed away on August 18, 2004, from cancer. Bernstein had three marriages. Rhoda Federgreen will go first. The couple was married in 1940s. Pearl Glusman was Bernstein's second wife, whom he married on December 21, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Bernstein wed Eve Adamson in 1965 following their divorce. Before his passing, they remained married for 39 years. In the 1960s, Bernstein had shares in the Thoroughbred racing partnership Triad Stable, which took its name from a musical word. Robert Helfer, his assistant, and Morton Lipton, the trainer at the Triad Stable, were among his partners. At the time, Cathy Mouton, his spokeswoman, merely reported that Bernstein had passed away after a protracted illness. He was survived by his beloved wife Eve, their daughters Emilie and Elizabeth, their sons Peter and Gregory Bernstein from a previous marriage to Pearl Glusman, and five grandkids.

“Marihuana Caches Found At Leamington,” Windsor Star. October 26, 1938. Page 3 & 10. ---- Valued At $100,000 Discovered Hidden in Summer Cottages at Seacliff Park ---- Police Summoned Definitely Identified as Narcotic Weed Used to Make ‘Reefers’ ---- From South Essex Bureau of The Windsor Star LEAMINGTON, Oct. 26. A large cache of marihuana, being dried in a vacated lakeside cottage here, was discovered by three Leamington youths, yesterday afternoon, when they went to remove their furniture.
SECOND DISCOVERY SUBSEQUENT discovery last night by The Windsor Star while taking pictures, was another cache of marihuana in a tended up cottage about 20 feet from tne one occupied by the Leamington youths. This second cottage was not entered until R.C.M.P. were summoned but through the front screen the drying hemp weeds were seen.
This second cottage was occupied, it was learned, by Mr. and Mrs. Glen Drew, of Leamington, during the summer months.
About the same amount of marihuana was apparently drying in both cottages. Total value is estimated at $100,000.
NOTIFY POLICE The trio, who made the original discovery, Rene Vanden Brande, 22, 10 Marlboro street east, Everitt M. Smith, 19, 16 Marlboro street east, and Melvin Foster, 22, 73 Victoria avenue, immediately notified Provincial Constable F. C. Thurston, after the weed had been identified as hemp-producing marihuana, the narcotic weed from which "reefer cigarets are manufactured.
The youth’s cottage, a nine by 11-foot shack with canvas top, is situated on Park street, diagonally across from Seacliff Park. It is owned by Sidney Wall. Talbot street west. The three youths who made the discovery had rented the cottage during the summer. It had been vacant since September, they said.
The land on which the cottage stands was rented from Fred Skeritt, Leamington.
Late yesterday afternoon they went to the cottage to remove furniture, luggage, and belongings, for the winter. They also wanted to get their swimming suits for use at the Y.M. C.A.
WINDOW BLOCKED Arriving at the cottage they found that a netting window which ran around the shack had been closed with card-board. The card-board had been tacked up as if to block the vision of any passers-by, Mr. Vanden Brande said.
Their suspicions were further aroused when they found the front door locked with a lock different from their own. They were forced to remove the door from its hinges before entering.
Inside the small summer cottage, the former occupants found the hemp laid out over the floor. The marihuana had been partially crushed and was laid out, one and two inches deep over the entire floor. Stalks, three and four feet high, lined the wall. "I thought at first they were keeping a pig at our place. There was what seemed to be hay all over the floor," Mr. Vanden Brande told The Star.
IDENTIFY WEED Immediately suspecting the weed was marihuana, the trio obtained several handfuls In a card-board box, also several stalks of it. They removed their belongings, locked the cottage again after replacing the door, and went immediately to Leamington, where the weed was tentatively identified as marihuana.
Provincial Constable Thurston was summoned and readily Identified the sample as marihuana. Picking up only a handful of the pulverized and dried hemp, he said it was sufficient to heavily drug four or five people. The youths said the cottage floor contained hundreds of times that much. R.C.M.P. Patrick Roome, at Amherstburg, was notified by Provincial Constable Thurston, and Is investigating the marihuana cache.
LEFT IN SEPTEMBER Everitt Smith said they had vacated the cottage in September and it had not been occupied, to their knowledge, since that time. They could not supply any information to police regarding who might have used the cottage for the weed.
The floor covered with the hemp, and the stalks lining the four walls, it appeared that marihuana was being deliberately dried in the shack. The mattress on the bed had also been covered with the marihuana, they said.
Both Smith and Vanden Brande had seen the weed being removed from vacant lots by police earlier this year, and they were reasonably sure that the weed in the cottage was marihuana. Smith said he tasted some and thought it was hemp. Provincial Constable Thurston definitely identified the weed as marihuana. He said it was already in condition for smoking.
FIND BOXES In the cottage the youths say, they found a burlap bag and a cigaret paper which had not been left there by them. The cottage, they said, when thev vacated it, had been clean and orderly. Last night it presented a dirty sight with the pulverized weed covering the entire floor and lying two and three inches deep on the bed. Cardboard had been securely tacked up to keep out all light. An electric wire supplying the cottage for illumination had been disconnected. The occupants believed that this was an ordinary procedure to protect the cottages from fire.
In one corner of the cabin was a pile of cardboard shoe boxes, which the occupants also said had not been left there by them. These and the burlap bag, they thought, might have been used for transporting the marihuana. They attached no significance to the cigaret paper.
BREAK IN "I was mad. The first thing I saw all over the bed and floor was this weed. We thought wed find out what it was. Somebodv had locked the door. After we peeked m and saw all this, we broke in. As soon as I found it I thought immediately of marihuana,” Mr. Smith said.
"I figured if it was anything at all. marihuana would be the only thing they would put in there, Mr. Vanden Brande added.
Mr. Vanden Brande operates the Leamington Business College here and is engaged with Mr. Smith in auditing books of local business places.
Earlier this year, authorities at Point Pelee National Park discovered several hundred thousand dollars worth of the weed growing wild. It was removed and destroyed under police surveillance. Some had been carried off, however, workers discovered, while they were removing it.
Trio Discover Makings For Reefer Cigarets The most sensational discovery of marihuana, loco weed from which "reefer cigarets are manufactured, was made by three Leamington youths at a lakeside, cottage yesterday. Returning to their summer residence, near Seacliff Park, to remove furniture and luggage, they found their small place had been turned into a cache for drying the vicious drug. Rene Vanden Brande, one of the trio, is shown above at the left, pointing to a pile of shoe boxes in a corner of the cottage. The youths believe that whoever is responsible for the weed used the boxes for transporting it. Vanden Brande is shown at the right with his two companions checking over samples of the marihuana. Left to right are: Everitt Smith and Melvin Foster, with some of the stalks of marihuana, and Vanden Brande, holding a shoe box containing some of the dried and pulverized plant. Subsequent search revealed another cottage, 20 feet away, in which more of the weed was being dried,
