When in Prague: love the food and beer so far. Today tried my 4th Czech beer, the Karel, a real steal at 35czk for a half pint at a restaurant named after Napoleon Bonaparte. Utterly refreshing after a long walk and light enough to go with a 3-course meal comprising a slightly sour but tasty goulash vegetable/potato soup, an extremely well-marinated and grilled pork steak, and a simple but scrumptious pancake with whipped cream. All for just 230czk (w service charge). Pork Belly. You can have it roasted and succulent with a crispy, cracklin' skin like "siew yoke" or you can laced and grilled it with honey for that sweet "char siew" taste. This Caramel and Crackling Roast Pork Donburi combo gives you the best of both worlds, along with a nice crispy chilli that is not unlike "hei bee hiam" (shrimp chili paste).
