For the second day @monthofmasters for #MonthOfMasters22 I choose from Gerda Wegener's arts this fashion one! • I use two artworks from her Solitaire/Queen of Hearts (Lili) which is the prototype in my background and I remake a fashion illustration in two different colour pallets. The first as the prototype and the second in a more colourful way respecting the color palette that the artist use at the darker artworks. • In some references I found that in the fashion artwork that I choose to remake is her..but I don't know for sure.. • Gerda Marie Fredrikke Wegener (née Gottlieb; 15 March 1886 – 28 July 1940) was a Danish illustrator and painter. Wegener is known for her fashion illustrations and later her paintings that pushed the boundaries of gender and love of her time. These works were classified as lesbian erotica at times and many were inspired by her partner, the transgender woman Lili Elbe. She was educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. • Wegener's work was often of confident and elegant women performing a variety of activities in either a Renaissance inspired style, Art Nouveau or Art Deco style. The images tended to show women posing or participating in artistic endeavors such as theatre, literature, and dance. Later on in France, Wegener created work showing women displaying seductive power or engaging in sexual activities.
