I reread my first chapter of it and now I’m fixating on it a little too much. So. Just curious

Extra context: I’ve redesigned multiple characters and it’s no longer set in Paris but instead a vague European city because I couldn’t be fucked to learn about France and figure out how it would impact certain choices of mine. It’s also slightly more mature but that’s just bc of my writing style

just finished all the mlb episodes i can find in english and the latest season feels like a fever dream

like no way that actually happened with the reverse love in each ship

i actually didnt like it that way, like i thought i would like it more

but i am always here for a mr bug and lady noire episode so loved that

I really like Marichat, I find it like the side of the love square, superior. mostly because they are the most genuine version of them

Marinette can be more relaxed with Chat Noir without the Ladybug mask, she doesn't have a burden of proving to be the 'best person in the room' she can be herself in a more relaxed way with Chat noir, since that is her partner, one of her best friends, she knows him and knows the type of person Chat is, she knows the good type with a good heart and now she can be her friend in a more genuine way for her.

Then there is Adrien's side, who now like Chat can see another side of Marinette, from his perspective he thinks that Marinette doesn't like Adrien from the beginning and that's why she gets very nervous around him, so he really hasn't known Marinette, he knows the general thing, he's seen her actions towards others and he admires her but they've never really had a long and serious talk so it's a new perspective for him to talk to Marinette as Chat. Without Adrien's weight.

They are both much more genuine, each knowing the other's other identities and feeling relaxed because they know their character. Also, without their interactions as Marichat we would not have had the love square inversion, which although I complain about the last seasons, that was one of the writing peaks, thank you very much

I really think a lot about Marichat. them just being dumb like. Marinette saying that Chat's puns are dumb and then laughing when Chat tells her a new one because he's so genuine and she can only laugh because 'how did you add cat to that?' you-ha!" Chat is a goofy comedy genius and it gets Marinette.every. time

and then Chat just has fun listening to Marinette's inspirational things while she's starting to doit something new. the excitement and the erratic way she immerses herself in every little thing. Adrien admires her a lot

Ladybug and Adrien are an important part of their personalities. Yeah. But Marinette and Chat Noir are the part of them that can allow themselves to be freer. So like freedom found, they both feel very comfortable with each other.

days been okay!!!! school is. school. as always but had fun in my kinesiology class!!!! we got to do vacuum splints!!! its super epiccc hddhsjsb my favorite class ever. we shall ignore my test scores forever tho. and we shall ignore the fact that i woke up at four and studied before i headed out to school. then proceeded to study every second of free time i got in my classes. yet still ended up with a 75. just happy its the weekend!!!! my friend is coming over in a bitttt and we might have a sleepoverrrr so im happy abt that!!!!! currently watching the mlb london special in my harumi cosplay. put it on like 30 minutes ago and i dont. wanna take it off ❤️ rambling now. anyway!!!!

okay i keep going on my Marichat bullshit about my miraculous rewrite (which i remember now I still haven't posted because yeaaahhhh i'm editing that bitch, i said i wouldn't but this is my rep on the line, not yours)

but i think I might make it so that, whilst Marichat will ALWAYS prevail, it's THE superior ship, Adrien and Mari do start with Ladrien. Just in a... crushing on an idolised version of someone before I become unmeasurable enamoured with their painfully flawed self

like they enjoy the the model and the superhero and all is well and good, innocent crushes. But they get the truly meaningful connection when Adrien's allowed to kick back and be an ass as Chat, and Mari gets to make mistakes as herself without risking, y'know, lives. They're both stupid idiot weirdos together and they start liking that more than the perfection they previously desired.

Adrien didn't fall in love with Marinette's superhero self on accident. Marinette didn't fall in love with Adrien's civilian self on accident.

Reversing the love square without seriously developing their characters from where they started (or, often, outright changing their characters) is to fundamentally change what the love square is.

Adrien fell in love with Ladybug because he saw her at her most stressed out, where she felt like all eyes were on her and she'd never be able to fix her mistake, and then you know what she did? She picked herself back up and fixed her mistake.

Adrien went to school after that and fixed his mistake, too, by making things right with Marinette.

Marinette fell in love with Adrien because she saw his persistent kindness even after she'd decided she didn't like him. She saw the way he refused to reflect back the worst of her and decided to do the same. She made things right, too, by not judging him based on their first impressions (not to mention how that likely impacted her relationships with Chloé and Kagami).

They fell in love with the person they needed the most. The one they needed to be more like. If you change who they initially fell in love with, you change a fundamental part of why they fell in love, and you fundamentally change the love square.

But some of y'all aren't ready for that talk.
