They have a fear of abandonment, or at least Taylor does (since she's the one they say "Im here" to) because of their parents being absent throughout their childhood

I feel like the twins looks very close/resemble their parents so well. For example, Tyler looks like Ethan, and Taylor looks like Mariana. Even though Tyler's her kid, I feel like Mariana accidentally calls/called him Ethan without thinking, just because of the resemblance, like in a way, Tyler is the mini Ethan, and Taylor is the mini Mariana. I also feel like Mariana kept on calling Tyler her husband's name, especially after his death, almost so she can always remember him. She always would, of course, but she missed him so much and felt that the world was empty without him. And so sometimes she'd notice, and sometimes not, if she says Ethan instead of Tyler when talking to him (<- I included that in the recent writing I made: Wedding Day Tears).

And when Ethan was alive, when the twins were little kids/younger, they would find it funny. But when he died, Tyler and Taylor would just remember their dad wasn't there anymore, but they couldn't find the courage to tell their mom to stop.

Let's talk about The Hernandez Family!

and why the whole situation with Tyler is actually a good thing to happen.

(‼️Spoilers for episodes 43-51‼️)

You've been warned...

Starting off with ep. 43 when we see Mariana Hernandez - Taylor and Tyler's mother - for the first time.

You can see the tension rising when she mentions the twin's father, which at the time is suspicious but since it goes unexplained it doesn't bring much of our attention until

Back then we couldn't confirm what that means, not until ep. 48 and Tyler's flashbacks. Now we know that the twins' father is dead, so that tells us that their mother doesn't seem to remember about that. To say more, she's CONVINCED that he's still alive because even when the situation points to him not being with them anymore, she still only finds it a bit weird but doesn't seem to remember the truth.

Either she doesn't want to remember it, or it's a part of some kind of medical, mental condition, but something that helps keep up this Delusion is that, as we know, after the death of Ethan Hernandez, Tyler took over his responsibilities.

Mariana never had to take over anything her husband did for the family, she didn't feel the weight that fell on them after his passing. All "thanks" to Tyler.

And for some reason her kids try to keep up this facade with distracting her from thinking about their father before she remembers anything

And they succeed, bringing them to the point when they are the ones that take care of her, instead of it being the other way around, as it should. She probably still does her share of responsibilities a parent should have (a part she was doing before too, when Ethan was alive) but the other half AND the mental burden is all on Tyler and Taylor.

But something changes in ep. 51

When Tyler is "injured", her first instinct is to call her husband - and his father - which is understandable, you wouldn't really think logically in a situation like that, but for Mariana, this is when the truth and logic finally hits her

She reminds herself that she can't call Ethan for help and you can clearly see that she's about to panic

But then Taylor comes in, and changes her mother's thinking of "I'm on my own, what do I even do?" To "I have others to care for, I'll think about myself later".

You can almost hear her thoughts saying "You're their mother. Act like it".

This is the moment she realizes that:

1. She can't depend on Ethan anymore

2. Tyler won't always be there to help her

3. She has to be strong for her kids because she should be. Because it's her responsibility that she's been neglecting... or just wasn't able to bring to life for WAY too long

After Tyler wakes up and the group leaves the hospital, it's said that his mom stayed there with him. I think both the time when Taylor needed her support and the time they spent together with Tyler when she was the one caring for him for a change will normalize their family situation. It will help Mariana realize that Tyler was and is still just a kid, and was never ready to take over his father's "position" in caring for her and Taylor, even if he did it because he had to.

That's what I think anyways, I'm open to discussion though ^^ and well, now as they're separated, their relationship will either freeze for a moment, or change again and hopefully it'll become even stronger after another reunion :)

Ok completely random thought, but where were the Hernandez's getting their money from? Did they just have a shit ton of savings? After Ethan died, Mariana seemed far too grief stricken to even leave her bed, let alone work. Was another family member helping financially?

Hi, the requests are still open, right? If so, I'll give you an idea. Please write Tyln×y/n, from sbg, where Tyler doesn't know how to tell his mum he's in a relationship now. But with that y/n is Tyler and Taylor's childhood friend, and she's a regular visitor to the Hernandezes' house. And Taylor will know all about it and in addition to supporting her brother, she'll giggle (well, because sibling relationships always involve making fun of each other)

You visited them again and this time you came just in time for lunch "oh hi (name) hunny you're just in time for lunch come in" (name) smiled and went to sit next to Tyler, and that's where Taylor started to tease her brother Taylor made a knowing look her eyebrows went up and down I don't what's it called:')

Tyler glared at her back when Ms. Hernandez put the food and you all started to eat but mariana started to talk "you know you two look so cute if became a couple" mariana pointed the fork towards you two, you two looked at each other then back to the plates with warm cheeks

Taylor suddenly went laugh and then ended up coughing Mariana went to get a water for Taylor

"so mom said you two are cute you should tell her already!" Taylor said between coughs

(name) couldn't take their gaze on their food with warm cheeks

When Mariana finally bring the water to Taylor there was a moment of silence before Tyler broke it "mom... I gotta confess that me and..." "You and (name) are together?, I already know" Tylers words cut off by his mom

"you knew all the time? Why didn't you tell us you knew" Mariana chuckled at Tyler "hunny I want you two to admit it to when you both feel comfortable I won't force you to spit it out, that's why I've been giving hints that you don't notice" "so you accept us?" Tyler asked his mother in approval " of course I don't mind (name) as my 'children-in-law' (name smiled at Mariana "thank you Mrs. Hernand-" "nuh uh call me mom from now on" she smiled at you as you nodded

SBG EPISODE 82 FASTPASS SPOILERS‼️‼️‼️

I fucking LOVED today’s episode idk why, probably because it was longer than usual and informative?

These reactions are SO CUTE but! One thing I noticed is Taylor got less screentime this chapter for some reason, she wasn’t included in some groups shots, this may or may not be unrelated but I have a feeling Red is building up something for her. But in contrast, Tyler got a LOT of screen-time this episode (it made me so fucking happy ahsjjaha) but also WHY?

Look at them, they’re trying. 💀

Also I still don’t get how Maverick is Mr Thomas when they’re both two different skintones, like I see 0 similarities between the two of them so I question whether this was a last minute made up decision by Red or pre-planned? Maybe she saw the Maverick x Thomas shippers and thought she had to put an end to that LMAO /j

I love this scene but what is Mariana doing? Ajksha and no Taylor in a group shot AGAIN. Aiden loves Lily sm, that is his adoptive sister at this point it’s so adorable.

Logan seems rlly unsurprised with the way his grandpa acts, I’m not sure if it’s because he knows whats going on with them or is just desensitised to their behaviour.

wedding day tears

Mariana was getting married today. She wore a floor-length, white and cream-colored gown, with a thin, lace veil that covered her beautifully down face. Her chocolate-brown hair was wound into a bun, with small yellow flowers surrounding it. In her hands was a colorful bouquet.

She was getting married at the beach. The weather today was perfect; it wasn't too hot or too cold, and the sound of the waves lapping against the sand was musical.

The reason why the wedding was at the beach was because that was the place he proposed. She remembered he got down on one knee, then asked her to wed him. And she said yes.

Music started playing, and Mariana took a step forward.

Something wet streamed down her face. She didn't touch it, because she was afraid she would smudge her makeup. Maybe it was already smudged.

Her vision became blurry. She reached up, trying to brush the tears away. She managed to smile, breathing out a laugh. Look at her. Crying at her own wedding. But it was happy crying, not sad crying.

At least, not yet.

There was a man standing next to the priest. He wore a black suit, with a white tie. But his face was blurry, like it was made of paint getting smeared. Why couldn't she see his face? That was Ethan, right? Why couldn't she see her husband's own face?

"Mama."

Mariana blinked.

That wasn't Ethan. That was...her son. Tyler. That was her own son, Tyler. What was Tyler doing at her wedding?

"Why are you crying?" a new voice piped up.

Mariana's split image, her younger self, her daughter. Taylor.

"It's 11 o'clock," her son, Ethan--Tyler--said. His eyes were dull. A child's eyes shouldn't be dull.

"Oh. I'm sorry." Mariana sat up, her pillow falling to the floor.

"Why are you crying?" Taylor asked again.

Mariana smiled at her, then said, "It's late, darlings." She turned towards Tyler. "Ethan, take Taylor to your room."

"My name is Tyler."

"That's what I said."

Tyler stared at her for a moment. Was this really his mother? Or was this someone who looked like her?

He grabbed Taylor's hand, whispering in her ear. He pulled her away, leading her to their shared room.

Once the children left, Mariana slouched. The tiredness seemed to crash upon her all at once.

Why was she still crying? She was at her wedding moments ago, the happiest day of her life, when she turned into a Hernandez and married Ethan. And speaking of Ethan, she saw him seconds ago. But...that wasn't Ethan...right?

Friendship w/ the Hernandez Twins

My SBG OC (Check the masterlist at my pinned blog)

- Hal and Tay became friends first when Hal got seated behind Tay.

- Hal knows about the situation of Mariana, the twins told her when she came over and met Mariana for the first time.

- She often come over to Taylor and Tyler’s home just to hangout —sometimes she sleeps over and sleeps in Tay’s bed— because she tends to get a bit lonely being alone in her house.

- She make it sure to not be empty handed when coming over to Tay and Ty's home since she didn't want to be a burden…She actually once have bought ingredients and cook dinner there(Ty helped her cuz she's a mess at cooking)

- Tay and Ty have watch their first ballet recital, Hallie was given 2 tickets supposedly for her parents to attend but they are out of the country on the day of the recital, so she gave the tickets to the twins. (Hallie has a picture of Tay, her, and Ty on that day — it's displayed below the family portrait)

-Hal always watch Tyler's play or practice with Taylor. They're basically his cheerleaders.
