Do you know the Yu-Gi-Oh X Twisted Wonderland fanfic "And You Thought Things Were over?" If you do, what are your thoughts on it? If you don't, are you interested in reading it?

I definitely got interested and read through the first three chapters and holy moly??? it's so much fun??? especially Jaiden interacting with the Hearstlabyul dorm members, also the bit of Vil and Rook trying to understand the physics of Yugi's hair gave me a few chuckles, it's just so entertaining to read! Kudos to the author really!

Hmmmmmm how about Kaji, Ume, Suo, Sakura and Kiryu reacting to their s/o telling them they’re on a no-sex-ban for a whole motherfucking week HELP ALL BECAUSE OF A PETTY ARGUMENT

Kaji’s in disbelief at first. Are you serious? Unfortunately for him you are, which leaves him brooding more than normal for the week and everyone can tell. It’s not that he NEEDS it technically, but its like when someone tells you you cant have something and you start just…thinking and thinking and thinking and now he’s antsy, but he does stick it out to the very end if only because he’s insanely stubborn.

I think Ume’s actually more bothered you both argued even if it was petty. The no sex ban doesn’t affect him much as long as he can do other stuff. A week without cuddling and kisses would kill him probably, but he’s pretty satisfied just spending the time making up with you and getting back to normal.

Suo’s kind of a petty bitch (at least to me) so he ends up thinking “alright bet” when you tell him no sex for a week. He ends up making it harder for YOU during the week with how much of a tease he is. “You said no sex! I’m just stopping where I’m at so I follow your rules,” he says so smugly you wanna throttle him. Makes you hold yourself to it. If it was a more serious argument I think it’d be different though.

Hmm…Sakura’s baffled like Kaji, but more because he has no clue what that has to do with the argument. Realizes you’re punishing him despite there really being no correct side to your argument and just grumbles about it. He’d probably get the wrong idea though and assume you don’t want him to touch you at all. You’re probably gonna have to talk to him about it or apologize, because in the end he gives you too much space (while pouting the whole time)

Kiryu’s also a little petty but not as much as Suo is. Accepts your terms and respects them, but tells you if you change your mind, he’s more than happy to go whenever. If you try to initiate he’ll be like “but what about the ban? are we lifting that now hm?” all soothing and sweet as he rubs your calves and thighs with his hands. I think he’s one of the few that just talks you out of it by hitting your weak spots.

Hiii! I love all your character analysis posts and theories so much, and was wondering if you have done any theories about where the gang was before Blackwater, by chance? I think I saw a post recently mentioning Montana but I can't for the life of me remember if it was you who posted it or not! 😅

But I've wondered about their locations before RDR2 a lot and would love to hear your thoughts about it. I remember reading a very early page in Arthur's journal about how they were in the Northen Grizzlies? But apart from that I can't remember anything else about locations, if there were any mentioned. And I'm sorry if you have done a post like this already, it's just a little piece of the backstory I'd like to hear theories about 😊

Well, firstly, some places that exist in real life does not exist in red dead and those are the places on the map. Texas is New Austin, New Orleans is Saint Denis and Luisiana is Lemoyne, meanwhile Californa and New York does exist in game, meaning we can't completely be sure what places exist unless they are directly mentioned.

Firstly, we know they have been in Chicago, that is where Dutch and Hosea met! Then in 1877 the pair went to Kettering, Ohio, where they scammed 300$ out of the residents, later that year we know that they met Arthur in the Northern states somewhere, which could also be Montana! We do not know more than it was someplace in the North.

We also know some time before they met Arthur, they went to Blackwater once but exactly when we do not know.

In 1885 we know they were in Illinois, saving and picking up John Marston and two years later they robbed their first bank Lee and Hoyt, which we do not know where is.

But between then and 1898, they robbed 36 banks across the frontier as stated by Ross in rdr1, which is where we get the famous "We were told there was a price when we reached 50." The wiki page of the VDL gang does say they came to Montana in 1898 but they won't give me source to confirm it, which is a little annoying, but just mentioning it.

We know at some point between 1893 and 1898, after Bill joining the gang, they went to Canada, him, Arthur and Uncle robbing a bank together.

At some point between 1895 and 1897, we also know they went to Tocson Arizona, where Javier and Arthur robbed a bank together with Karen who dressed up as a nun and hid firearms under her clothing.

We also know that for a while they would return to the same places for Arthur's romances. Both with Eliza, where he could pop by every few months and for Mary, whom they at least returned to after 1894 when Abigail joined, and before the deaths of Annabelle and Bessie.

Either way, now we come to the fun parts, around winter 1898, the gang was up in what is called the Northern Grizzles, we only have access to the western (Around Mount Hagen) and Eastern (O'Creagh's Run), so I would assume that the Northen are outside the map, probably up above the Wapiti Reservation somewhere.

They traveled down the "Western Foothill of the mountians", not sure what road they took as it could be one off map, which I would honestly guess, probably traveling around the cold of Colter and coming in from left side of the map. Either way, they most likely ended up somewhere down by and Big Valley, which can match up with the fact that Arthur mentions that life was good and food was easy to find. That area does have a lot of easy food access and so forth.

Now I have seen a few people say Dutch met Micah in Strawberry, which is honestly very fair assumption, it matches up with a lot, but a simple fact is forgotten, Strawberry does not have a bar, which is where they met.

I would say that Micah most likely had been in Strawb and done, whatever business he had with Slim and Martha (I believe their names were), and traveled up and out of map where he met Dutch and then decided to join them back down.

Afterwards they traveled down to Blackwater where they "hid in plain sight" right outside town as Arthur says he does not like being so close to the town, and considering how close they were to Valentine, I would guess they camped at the ledges where Charles and Javier hides when going to find Sean, either there or the other side of the town.

But even though they were camped so close to down, Arthur funnily enough still stayed in town from time to time. It does however not seem that they were settled there or in Big Valley for very long, as Arthur also says that they have been running more than normally those weeks.

Now we get to a bit that confuses me because suddenly the group goes from the southern part of the map down in Blackwater, to suddenly appearing up by Spider Grove by Colter, and Arthur mentions that they headed "east over the Grizzlies" so they went west from Blackwater, out of the map, and then up North only to go east again. Not to mention that it seems they did it in a fairly short time, they haven't had proper time to talk about what happened, they were still shook, Davey was not yet dead from a gut wound and Jenny was burried not far from where we first see the gang?

See that is a little confusing, but I hope that answers your question! I had a lot of fun answering it at least, rereading Arthur's journal and all.

And that's the idea for now and if you follow this blog a little of course you know which character he will meet on his journey (spoilers alert: the mystery kids ofc, I plan to make Akane and Shijima interact sm omg)

I don't think I will post it (my writing english is a disaster it's so obvious that the sentences were thought in half another language/half english ahah) but I plan to do some illustrations for it when I can :DD I am kinda excited for this one for now ^^

It may have been unintentional of your part, but Manchete's demeanour remind me how it is most likely that Maximilien de Robespierre's personality was. He, too, was a highly controversial figure that oversaw executions that stemmed mostly from his paranoia and fear, his bloodthirst causing a period known as The Reign of Terror to overcome France, all the while accounts from those who were close to him at the time stated that he was softspoken and cowardly. Due to that, I was wondering: was Robespierre an inspiration for Manchete or are those parallels a complete coincidence?

That's very interesting actually! I know of Robespierre and that he was a leading figure in the French Revolution, but I've never bothered looking into his personal biography properly. I did a quick superficial wikipedia check and it looks like you might be right, they do seem to have more than a few uncanny similarities. I'm cherrypicking a little of course but there's significant academic success and good conduct, being described as nervous, timid and suspicious, always well groomed, very driven and hardworking, but moody and frequently ill. And most of all probably starting with very good, righteous and idealistic intentions but escalating into senseless violence and tyranny over time. Both saw conspiracies left and right and dealt with repeated assassination attempts and public scapegoating towards the end. Both dug their own graves, that's for sure.

I wrote more fix-it straight fanfiction for a movie that came out in and I can't stress this enough 2004 [twenty years ago. twink matt damon is long dead now. RIP.] at this point I am just impressed I waited seven months. not my fault it's the singular most beautiful and tragic heterosexual love story put to screen. Maybe it's the fault of the Universal executives who doomed me to care this much when I first watched as a 12 year old girl. Consider that.

I think you make a good point about how weird it is that Sam didn't mentor Jack about his similar experience of being soulless, but don't you think Cas should have too?

Yes. That was actually one of my first metas here back in 2022: "Cas should've taken the lead on the soullessness situation." Note: My views have evolved somewhat, especially with what is clearly a partnership where Dean is knowingly taking Jack to mentor his crisis and Cas is taking Sam to mentor his crisis, but I still agree with a lot of it.

Particularly this:

Cas spent billions of years as a soulless being. Surely hearing about Cas’s journey throughout that, and hearing about Cas struggling with doing the right thing, regardless of his soul status, would have soothed Jack’s anxiety. He could’ve brought a friendly angel like Anael to see Jack and discussed how souls aren’t the end-all, be-all of existing. Discussed how difficult it is to stay in control of angelic powers and to be careful and tender with the concept of human morality. Dean’s move to visit Donatello was fine and all, but Donny has no grace. Jack is soulless, but he’s not graceless.

Only recently, though, have I really keyed into how Sam tends to default to generic, hand-wavey explanations and tends to avoid personal details, especially in his mentoring and parenting style. Sam's non-reciprocal communication style is a much newer insight for me, one that I started turning over in my brain when I rewatched Tombstone with Jack in mind. Once I saw it, I seemed to keep seeing it. Sam tends to keep a distance, which can sometimes make his heart-to-hearts come off as "therapizing" rather than personal.

While Sam and Dean both manifest shame and perfectionism in different ways, I think Sam's inability to look at his mistakes is definitely tied to his perfectionism. And in 14x19, we see this again: Sam's line about how Dean could see that Jack was a "lost cause from the beginning," rather than breaking down his own specific actions with regards to Jack's condition are, I think, part of the overall trend.

But yeah, just as Sam's soullessness positioned him to be a unique sounding board for Jack, so too did Cas's "inherent" soullessness (And Anael's, for that matter. Why couldn't we have more Anael in the bunker why? *cries*)

They didn't *have* to go to Donatello for advice about souls, but I can understand how the "soullessness" periods of their lives are tied up with a lot of painful memories, too. And those are hard as Hell to face.(And I love Donny, you guys know I love Donny, but even he tried to kill them when he was corrupted through the tablet, in part due to his soullessness. To take his word as proof of wellbeing isn't just shortsighted, it's denial in action.)

But on the whole, I think all of TFW has sufficient experience with "losing themselves" and/or "losing their family members," especially in the pursuit of heroics... They could have offered a better united front and guidance on this issue.

(Note: I give Mary a half-pass about Jack though, maybe, because as I said, I don't think Mary had any idea what the Hell was going on with Jack in season 14. So she'd have had no reason to share her painful experience of becoming NBK!Mary with him. She tries to offer support in basic ways, though: “We'll help you. We're family. We'll support you. That's what we do." etc)

Conjecture: I suspect that, in typical TFW-fashion, a lot of Jack-resurrection and Jack-eating-Michael details were purposefully hidden from Mary so as to spare her the worry/burden. (The way Dean hid the Ma'lak box plan from Cas and Jack, or how Cas hid the Empty deal from Dean and Sam.)

Something something you want peace for your loved ones, not pain. But sparing an initial pain sometimes makes things worse later. Sigh. It's so hard to find the line! :(

But as a personal aside// it IS a little crunchy/interesting seeing crucial information (potentially) kept from Mary, because Mary is a child-raised soldier-hunter who also prefers to solve things on her own, or hide and evade the truth until shit has already hit the fan. The taste of our own medicine: always bitter.

Okay, as a certified ume lover (you), I had this thought and decided you had to know too, imagine you end up getting pregnant and ume is like tears and shit and considering his backstory, he genuinely looks at you and loses his shit, and HE WONT EVER LET YOU GO OUT OF HIS ARMS, go everywhere with you, not a step out of the house without him, hugging you more tighter in his sleep cause he doesn't want you to fall over accidentally and end up hurting yourself, he will be there for EVERY single time you are suffering with morning sickness, and hear all the complaint on how much you are peeing and how you can't reach the floor and see your own feet and go behind and lift your belly to lessen the burden and pain on your back as you melt into him. Let's not talk about the fact the baby is born and he gets to hold them? He would melt and have a breakdown so bad that gets the nurses smiling so bad seeing such a reaction from a father, he will be hugging you and kissing you thanking him for giving him this life and OMG IMAGINE MAKING A WHOLE NURSERY ROOM WITH HIM, FILLED WITH BABY SHOES, PAINTING IT, BUILDING EVERYTHING.

Or imagine he gets so overly protective and worries fills his mind when you tell him you are pregnant, and you just sit on his lap and hold his face every so gentle and kissing him between every sentence all over his face and comforting him that it will all be alright and that you know he is gonna be the best father ever and that he doesn't have to go through this whole experience with worries eating him up considering he already experienced losing his mom, dad and his unborn sibling.

OKAY FORGOT TO ADD,

Him just talking to your belly whenever you are sleeping and see it when you wake up and him telling the child to "don't bother your mom so much" while gently kissing it. I AM SO NOT NORMAL ABOUT IT AND I, GENERALLY DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT PREGANANCY, BUT ITS SO DIFFERENT WITH UME, I AM SORRY ‼️‼️

I do think although he’s pretty well adjusted when it comes to his past, he WOULD have a few noticeable changes because if you went through what he did who wouldn’t have some residual issues? The tension in his shoulders when you’re both walking in a city or if he hasn’t gotten a text back in more than a few hours while he’s at work? An anxious mess, Hiragi give him some medicine or something. He’s never been so stressed and ecstatic in his life its exhausting for him but he refuses to ever say the stressed part out loud you just gotta talk him through it and be stubborn about it because otherwise he’s trying to take care of you TOO much.

It’s not your pregnancy with him it’s OUR pregnancy he’ll get sympathy sick when you’re puking your guts out or cry like he’s in pain when you get IVs or shots for it (dont even get me started on the epidural i didnt know the catheter stayed IN your back when you got it wtfff till like…last year) best guy to be pregnant with though and he won’t stop talking about how brave and sweet and perfect you are or how pretty you look despite how you feel like none of those words.

He’s ALL up in the delivery room despite the horrors and he’s apologizing profusely when you’re crying that he did this to you and that hes the worst and then you’re like baby i dont really mean that but this is fucking terrible rip he knows you dont mean it and you can squeeze his hand, hit him, yell at him he doesn’t mind at all if it makes you feel even just a little bit better

He tries your weird cravings with you no matter what it is or what time it is. You wanna eat peanut butter and pickles at 3am? Lets go bby we’re taste testing.

He’s getting up in the middle of the night as much as possible when the baby’s born so that you can rest, you have to force him back to bed sometimes because he’s sleep deprived eventually.

Micah asking Mary-Beth makes me realise how observant he is of his surroundings, because Micah says himself he likes women who are a bit more fightsy and Mary-Beth certianly is, but not openly all the time. It is only at certian times when she can be blunt and passive aggressive, and Micah would have had to pay attention to notice that.

Do I think he likes her? Maybe, maybe not, probably not, but I think there are several things leading behind him asking her.

One, she is pretty, she cannoncially is and well... Look at her, I don't blame him.

Secondly, he is human, humans crave affection and they crave other people (not nesessarily sexually or romantically, I know as I am ace, but just being around people), he is rarely around anyone and having a dance, having an intimate moment that isn't paid for is even something he craves.

I do just think he wanted to give it a try, I do just think that he is a person and I do just think that he longs for other humans. It is similar to how he talked to Arthur about wanting a friend, and I think these two moments are moments when he is lonely and missing compaionship. Then you have the times when he feels himself, when he feels the top of the world, that is when he goes after Susan or Abigail whom he finds hot but not nessesarily nice to be around like he maybe does Mary-beth.

I think it is the difference between lust and longing for compaionship, friendship. I think he asked her not because he loved her but because he thought she could maybe be a fun friend.
