I think I'd like to wake up beside you in the middle of the night. The room cold but our body radiates a gentle warmth. I can't really see you except for what's illuminated by the thinnest slivers of light passing through the blinds. I'm close to drifting back to sleep but I know you're there beside me. That's all the fantasy is. No passionate sex or grand displays of romance. Just the comfort of waking up next to someone you care for, and falling asleep next to them. Their presence is everything, those moments are everything.

Plot Twist: You're my person and I'm yours and we spoil one another recklessly and with such abandon and love that others look at what we have and they too share some small, glowing joy for what we have.

i will crave, hunger, and pine, until you're mine, and when you're with me, i'll hold you closer than comfort allows, cherishing every morsel of us, until we both slumber like the long dead, warm in our tombs of soil.

"I fell in love with the little parts of you." She said to me, and I believed her. The earnestness in those vibrant brown eyes, I could see little flecks of gold through them. Like veins of precious ore glittering in morning sunlight. "Oh, yeah?" I replied. The weight of the vulnerability crushing me like a tonne of bricks but each of those bricks were in desperate need of being shed. "I'm sorry about who I am. I can't let the words leave my mouth," I interjected suddenly, "but just know that even to my marrow, you are it for." She continued looking at me, cheeks flushing, and her eyes, man, her eyes. I wanted to look at them and never again look at anything else. She said, "If you don't touch me now I think I'll wake up from this dream." And so I took her thin hand in mine, her skin a comfort to me, and I would hold it until we perished.

“Man shouldn’t be able to see his own face — there’s nothing more sinister. Nature gave him the gift of not being able to see it, and of not being able to stare into his own eyes. Only in the water of rivers and ponds could he look at his face. And the very posture he had to assume was symbolic. He had to bend over, stoop down, to commit the ignominy of beholding himself. The inventor of the mirror poisoned the human heart.”
— Fernando Pessoa

If it's anger you want, violence you need, the copper taste of blood on your tongue, i'll give you war, and not give it a second thought.
