A Stranger-Townies Lookbook Ft. Some Notable Strangerville Locals
The locals who live in Strangerville will tell you that the blink-and-you'll-miss-it-town lives up to its peculiar name. Full of secrets, government espionage, unsolved mysteries, reclusive misfits, and an abundance of sordid stories of the past only known through word of mouth, this quaint little military town is much more than meets the eye.
Treating this as a one-stop-shop for all my Strangerville townie makeovers! All of them will appear in my story, so I wanted to highlight them. I hope you guys like this lookbook! 💕

The Tellers Auguri
Juergen teller and Dovile Drizyte
Steidl, Göttingen 2022, 17x25cm, 288 pages, 274 images, Hardback, ISBN 978-3-96 999-093-3
euro 45,00
email if you want to buy [email protected]
“We are building our future together” declared Juergen Teller and Dovile Drizyte on their wedding invitation, the words handwritten on a photo of the couple proudly wearing nothing less than safety hats and jackets, as they strike a pose on a construction site. This set the celebratory, irreverent tone for their wedding in Naples, an occasion they ensured was an unforgettable, multi-day experience for their guests, in a city they love for its gritty beauty and the warmth of its people. Auguri is Teller and Drizyte’s uninhibited visual diary of their wedding adventure, from initial location scouting to the welcome party with rooftop dancing overlooking the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. From the ceremony to the formal dinner―where each lucky guest received an unexpected gift from the bride and groom, a ceramic plate signed and printed with a different motif from the “We are building our future together” series―and the night’s undeniable highlight: a delightfully dirty performance by subversive drag queen Christeene and her band. From the lazy Sunday afterwards, on a local beach with gelati, calamari and ping pong, to the honeymoon in Sicily. Auguri is at once Teller and Drizyte’s personal thank you to their guests, and their tongue-in-cheek tribute to amore in all its vital, unadorned and fabulous forms.
Juergen Teller, born in Erlangen in 1964, studied at the Bayerische Staatslehranstalt für Photographie in Munich. His work has been published in influential magazines such as Vogue, System, i-D, POP and Arena Homme+, and has been the subject of solo exhibitions including those at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain in Paris and Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin. Teller won the prestigious Citibank Photography Prize in 2003, and from 2014 to 2019 held a professorship at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Nürnberg. His books with Steidl include Louis XV (2005), Marc Jacobs Advertising, 1998–2009 (2009), Siegerflieger (2015), The Master IV (2019), Handbags (2019), Leben und Tod (2020) and William Eggleston 414 (2020).

Thank you for tagging me, @somanywords. I love doing these! 💛😘💛
last song: Christine and the Queens - Tears can be so soft
last show: Transatlantic - finally finished it last week and really enjoyed it. (Fictionalized versions of) Max Ernst, Hannah Arendt, Marc Chagall, et al., and a bunch of sexy queer spies/diplomats/resistance fighters hanging out at a dilapidated French Château in 1940, while they're waiting to get out of Europe? It's like someone made a show just for me!
last movie: Air. It’s an entertaining, very competently made movie with a great soundtrack (seriously, what kind of music budget did they have for this?). But in the end, it's a movie about a shoe. At the climax, Matt Damon gives a big rousing speech, and every second of it I could tell I’m supposed to be very moved and inspired by it, but, honestly, I had to laugh. Because, again, it’s about a corporation, it's about a shoe, it's about rich people getting even richer (the actual interesting part, how the Air Jordan deal opened up a whole new business model for student athletes is treated as an afterthought). So. The production design and set decoration are fantastic, Ben Affleck is very funny (and wears great costumes) and Viola Davis—as always—transcends the material she's given. Still. It's a movie about a shoe.
currently watching: Yellowjackets. Haven't seen the latest episode yet, but I'm very much looking forward to watching it tonight.
currently reading: Sadly, not much. I have like 10 books on my nightstand but…yeah. Bit of fic here and there (mostly re-reads or shorter works), but I haven’t really had the time for anything longer, which is also why haven't posted any rec lists lately. 😿 Hey, but did read 90 pages of a study called "Google vs the Library" for work today. Does that count?😬
current obsession: Steve, Bucky, SteveandBucky, as always. Also, the works of William Eggleston, for reasons...
I'm always so late with these things, so I have no idea who's already done it. So please anybody who wants to, I love hearing about the things you enjoy! Also, no pressure-tagging: @burninblood, @tessabennet, @elliquinn, @thisonesatellite, and @voylitscope.

Hey there Ava, I wanted to say something in regards to those posts you recently made about your characters and art as a whole. Apologies in advance for the essay ahead, I had a lot to say and I really feel passionate about this because, hey, I've been there and I don't want to see you discouraged over this. First I want you to know that you aren't alone- when I was your age and still learning the ropes of art I felt exactly the same. All my friends around me what felt like suddenly jumped in their skills and only perfected their characters (design and story/personality-wise) while I sat stagnated in both. My characters were one-dimensional and I had little to no understanding of the major principles of art. And without a doubt, it is discouraging because they're being noticed for it and I hadn't made any ground in improvement at the time. This is a horribly common feeling especially for those without any access to formal training/teaching and beginners alike. Most of my friends lived in places where they could easily gain professional guidance and tools (usually through college, many countries allow you to jump to college while still in mid-teen years onwards), while I remember having to teach myself everything and struggling to learn even the most basic digital programs. Neither my high school or college (that I went to art classes specifically for, even the introductory ones) ever went in-depth when teaching the basics, and so generally I never had that strong foundation all my friends built onto. It's painful, but it's going to be okay because there are ways to help this. Now real quick, I'm going to go ahead and address what you were saying about your characters and art. Being completely honest, you were one of the first people I followed when joining this site, and I've really enjoyed seeing your work. While you may think that others would ignore your work over currently higher-skilled artists, I need you to know that there is a certain joy in watching someone find their way in a skill and grow within it. Drawing and designing characters (and yes, even writing them regarding their backstories/personalities) is a skill. For some, naturally they jump off and fly right away, with little to no friction. But for others? There may need to be a little more guidance and work. Some people also learn more slowly than others, and that's nothing to be ashamed of. You do not "suck" at these things. You just may need more supplementary sources to help guide your growth is all. That leads me into my next point;
When I said that you aren't alone in this, I don't just mean "I've been there". I also mean, there's an insane amount of free sources that are online you can use to push yourself forward. Pinterest has a lot of good references ranging from 'how to draw this' to 'something I can use for inspiration' and you can easily amass a huge collection for just about any of your drawing needs. Also YouTube! I stagnated in my art and designs for years, but when I started actively seeking out tutorials my skills slowly-- very slowly-- grew and I was able to not only learn new things but also build off of them from there on. Some of my favorite tutorial/art/design tips channels are: -Marc Brunet (short and sweet, easily digestible tutorials on drawing from a professional game artist turned art teacher. Just about anything drawing related is on his channel). -Brookes Eggleston - Character Design Forge (a channel specifically for improving character design (and a few tips on personality qualities as well) and some of the principles you can use to apply when designing). Both of these channels also have tips for the whole mental aspect of these things, which is very encouraging and helps when trying to get out of a mindset that may be hindering you and your progress, including artblock and feelings of inadequacy. I apologize again for the long ask, but I really hope this helps you in some way! Know that you're not in this journey alone and that with some time and a little bit of guidance, you will improve-- which I want to also say that it's much easier for others to see than for you to. At the end of the day, try to be a little more compassionate towards yourself, because it can only get better and I know you're doing your best. The fact that you're posting your art and characters online like this is already inspiring enough to many who are afraid to even start, and I genuinely mean that from experience. As scary as it is, maybe ask some of your friends or artists in general that you look up to for tips, most people are happy to provide insight on their work when asked politely- and definitely seek out some resources for yourself as well, those that I mentioned are without a doubt a good start. I wish you all the best of luck, and please take care! <3
Thank you there friend for this long ask. After reading this, I think I forgot something important! I already know these things and I have't tried it out recently! Thank you so much for reminding me and everyone who might come across this that we are indeed not alone. I am truly touched and I'll make sure to never underestimate myself again! Sadly I don't know exactly who you are (Although I assume you were like the first one to like the rant post I just made) but thank you again. And I hope that maybe you can like DM me? Anyways, thank you so much!

I was wondering, Frank, who is your favorite artist? Mine is Franz Marc, closely followed by Kandinsky. I guess I prefer painters who eschew reality. What about you?
Uh, I dunno if I have a favorite artist, but I know which artists I like:
M.C. Escher
Claude Monet
Jasper Johns
Claude Glass
William Eggleston
John Bocklin
Paul Cezanne
Thomas Eakins
John Singer Sargent
The Old Masters (specifically Dutch and Flemish)
Francis Leman Borda and Albrecht Durer
William Hogarth
(OK, so the "specifically" is not 100% there)
… these are all very different styles, you know? But somehow these are what I like looking at
(It's funny, I'm really into painters like Kandinsky, but I'm not really into the (not so) abstract art. Well, I guess I still like the abstract art … sort of)
(The answer to your question: I know that many of my favorite pictures are ones where my wife, Esther, helped me pick out the art that I would be happiest if I had)

Marc Dantan (French)
The Immortals
On the first day of February 2008 a terrible fire starts in 1st floor of Deroyalle and destroys more than 90% of the collections. The day after the disaster the celebrated Parisian taxidermy shop was an image of chaos. As a regular visitor to the place I wanted to depict the desolation and highlight the fragility of Nature. In my series The Immortals I pay tribute to the damaged, mutilated, calcined animals that yet survive the flames.
A self-taught 52-year-old, I decided to devote myself fully to photography in 1998. Thanks to books, I discovered Edward Weston, Irving Pen and American colorists like Eggleston and Sternfeld. Later, it was the extraordinary commitment of Edward Curtis that upset me. His work on Native American culture will become a model and a source of inspiration.

New from Kevin Wozniak on Kevflix: What’s Streaming This Month? – August
Here are my picks for the best movies coming to Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, Disney+, Criterion Channel, and HBOMax in August. This month offers up some great options, including Oscar winners, indie gems, and Hollywood classics.
NETFLIX
Full list of everything coming to Netflix in August can be found here.
THE ADDAMS FAMILY (Barry Sonnenfeld, 1991)
A perfect adaptation of the classic show about the creepy, kooky, mysterious, and spooky family.
AN EDUCATION (Lone Scherfig, 2009)
Carey Mulligan’s breakout performance leads Lone Scherfig’s coming-of-age drama.
BEING JOHN MALKOVICH (Spike Jonez, 1999)
One of two Charlie Kaufman-written movies coming to Netflix this month. This one looks at a group of people who find a tunnel that puts them inside the mind of actor John Malkovich. It’s an incredible film.
CASINO ROYALE/QUANTUM OF SOLACE (Martin Campbell/Marc Forster, 2006/2008)
Though Quantum of Solace is a bit of a dud, Casino Royale is my favorite James Bond movie and ushered in Daniel Craig as one of our best Bond’s.
ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND (Michel Gondry, 2004)
The other Charlie Kaufman-written film is his strongest screenplay to date and one of the most original movies of the 21st century.
JURASSIC PARK TRILOGY (Steven Spielberg/Joe Johnston, 1994/1998/2001)
Lost World and Jurassic Park III may not live up to the first film (not many films do), but this is a fun trilogy of dinosaur chaos and mayhem.
MR. DEEDS (Steven Brill, 2002)
One of the last great Adam Sandler vehicles. This movie never fails to make me laugh.
NIGHTCRAWLER (Dan Gilroy, 2014)
One of Jake Gyllenhaal’s best performances came in Dan Gilroy’s thriller about a man obsessed with breaking into the world of crime journalism.
OCEAN’S 12 & OCEAN’S 13 (Steven Soderbergh, 2004, 2007)
It’s kind of annoying they don’t have the whole trilogy on here (more on Ocean’s 11 later in this list) but these are fun, cool, twisty, weird movies with stellar casts that are endlessly rewatchable.
SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED (Colin Tervorrow, 2012)
The only good movie Colin Trevorrow has made is a unique take on the time travel movie.
AMAZON PRIME VIDEO
Full list of everything coming to Amazon Prime Video in August can be found here.
3:10 TO YUMA (James Mangold, 2007)
James Mangold’s underrated Western remake features dynamite performances from Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, and Ben Foster.
INCEPTION (Christopher Nolan, 2010)
One of the best movies of 2010’s is as bold as any blockbuster film ever made.
MARGIN CALL (JC Chandor, 2011)
JC Chandor’s debut is a tightly strung, expertly acted look at the 2008 financial crash.
TOP GUN (Tony Scott, 1986)
An 80’s classic.
DORA AND THE LOST CITY OF GOLD (James Bobin, 2019)
This adaptation of the Nickelodeon children’s show is an exciting and fun adventure film.
THE PEANUT BUTTER FALCON (Tyler Nilson, Michael Schwartz, 2019)
Led by the terrific performances by Shia LeBeouf and Zack Gottsagen, this is sweet, funny, heartwarming road movie that will melt your heart.
HULU
Full list of everything coming to Hulu in August can be found here.
AUSTRALIA (Baz Luhrman, 2008)
Baz Luhrmann’s bold romance staring Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman.
THE BROTHERS MCMULLEN (Edward Burns, 1995)
Edward Burns won the top prize at the 1995 Sundance Film Festival for his film about three Irish Catholic brothers from Long Island who struggle to deal with love, marriage, and infidelity.
MASTER AND COMMANDER: THE FAR SIDE OF THE WORLD (Peter Weir, 2003)
An epic sea adventure from the great Peter Weir.
RAIN MAN (Barry Levinson, 1988)
Barry Levinson’s Best Picture winner features a pair of excellent performances from Best Actor winner Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise.
STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE/STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN/STAR TREK III: THE SEARCH OF SPOCK/STAR TREK V: THE FINAL FRONTIER/STAR TREK: THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY/STAR TREK: INSURRECTION (Robert Wise/Nicholas Meyer/Leonard Nimoy/William Shatner/Nicholas Meyer/Jonathon Franks, 1979/1982/1984/1989/1991/1998)
Being more of a Star Wars person my entire life I did not watch a lot of Star Trek, so I’m excited and intrigued to check these films out.
UP IN THE AIR (Jason Reitman, 2009)
George Clooney is sensational in Jason Reitman’s look at a man who makes a living firing people.
DISNEY+
Full list of everything coming to Disney+ in August can be found here.
ANT-MAN AND THE WASP (Peyton Reed, 2018)
One of the most underrated movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
THE PEANUTS MOVIE (Steve Martino, 2015)
A funny, sweet, beautifully animated adaptation of the Charles Schwartz creation.
X-MEN (Bryan Singer, 2000)
One of the most important comic book movies ever made.
CRITERION CHANNEL
Full list of everything coming to Criterion Channel in August can be found here.
*The Criterion Channel does things a little differently than every other streaming service. The Criterion Channel, a wonderful streaming service that focuses on independent, foreign, and under-appreciates movies, doesn’t just throw a bunch of random movies to stream. They get more creative, by having categories like “DOUBLE FEATURES” or “FILMS FROM…”, giving us curated lists of films that somehow blend together or feature a specific artist.*
AUSTRALIAN NEW WAVE
A look at the films that changed Australian cinema forever in the 1970’s and early 80’s.

The greatest film about journalism ever made and a true American masterpiece.

Need a Batman fix? HBO has your back.
BEFORE SUNRISE/BEFORE SUNSET (Richard Linklater, 1995/2004)
Really mad Before Midnight isn’t on here, but the Before Trilogy is the greatest trilogy in all of cinema and each film offers up something special.
THE FUGITIVE (Andrew Davis, 1992)
A thrilling and entertaining Best Picture nominee.
IDIOCRACY (Mike Judge, 2006)
A political satire that feels all too real now.

Taika Waititi won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay in this comedic World War II film about a child who’s imaginary friend is Adolf Hitler.

Arguably the coolest heist movie ever made.
AN AMERICAN PICKLE (Brandon Trost, 2020)
An immigrant worker at a pickle factory is accidentally preserved for 100 years and wakes up in modern day Brooklyn. Seth Rogen plays the immigrant worker and his great grandson.
BIRDS OF PREY (AND THE FANTABULOUS EMANCIPATION OF ONE HARLEY QUINN) (Cathy Yan, 2020)
Though I wasn’t the biggest fan of this when I first saw it, Margot Robbie is an absolute delight to watch as Harley Quinn.
THE WAY BACK (Gavin O’Connor, 2020)
Ben Affleck gives the best performance of his career in Gavin O’Connor’s drama about a man trying to turn his life around.

Couple things I want to share about my Strangerville townies for those who might be interested:
I literally struggled to pick which look I wanted to highlight for Meredith Roswell. I went with the one that most closely resembled her original design... but she is what I would call "Country mom fabulous." I'm considering doing a lookbook just for her lmao.
I've said a few times that George doesn't have the villainy aspiration in my save: this is because I have never thought that made much sense to be honest. So that there's no confusion, in my story a lot of people in town think he is weird/has bad motives because of rumors (and people like Ted Roswell) painting him in a very negative light. In all fairness, that's not necessarily hard to do when he basically keeps to himself (except for his involvement in the community center), lives in a bunker on the outskirts of town, has a daughter who is notorious for getting into fights (and being overall mysterious), has one close friend who is a conspiracy theorist, and he talks to his plane which is named after his dead wife. But he's actually a good guy lmao! He's just quiet and cranky!
Ted, however, is still an overall bad guy in general. He's old money. His family is among the "founding families" of Strangerville (which is a big deal in this particular small town). He's also still the mayor.
Marc Eggleston and Leslie Holland are occult sims - Marc is a pretty old vampire, Leslie is a fairly new werewolf (by genetics, not by being turned), but Alice is a human. The three of them are in a poly relationship (although Leslie and Marc go through bouts of being more platonic/loving each other simply for their shared love of Alice). Alice is a little ball of sunshine and all things good in the world, and most people in town actually think she lives alone because of how little they see her "roommates."
The house they live in actually belongs to Leslie's pack - but it has been abandoned for years, so they allowed her to have it. (That's all I can say for now lol because *spoilers*)
Marc's full first name is "Marquise" in my story, that's why I changed his name to "Marc" instead of "Mark" because that just makes more sense to me. It's a minor detail, but it would have driven me nuts to keep the "K" lmao.
The Sigworths are new in town; Jess got reassigned to the Strangerville base and although Christie and Dylan aren't crazy about the new environment quite yet, they're being pretty good sports about the move. Dylan is a brainy tech genius and was born with relatively severe deafness and a congenital limb defect (his leg). He works from home to stay with their homeschooled daughter while Jess is the "working parent" who leaves the house. I see them as a quirky but overall happy family who has been thrusted into a very weird situation lol.
That's everything I can think of that I wanted to clarify right now. This is mostly for me to keep my thoughts in one tag for later, but it's also a good opportunity to share some details that might not be explored deeply throughout my story. Please always feel free to ask me about my OCs if you want more details or clarification!

La colección de fotografía Gilman y González-Falla llega a España
Lewis Hine, On the Hoist, Empire State Building, 1931 Libre de derechos

Significant Sales Jump Start TEFAF New York’s Inaugural Spring Edition
TEFAF New York, 2017. Photo courtesy of TEFAF.
There were murmurs among the New York art community that this year’s packed calendar would strand prominent European collectors on the Continent, prompting them to sit out the spring iteration of TEFAF New York and Frieze New York in favor of the Venice Biennale, Documenta, and Skulptur Projekte Münster. But judging from the results on TEFAF’s preview day, whoever stayed home wasn’t missed.
In fact, TEFAF’s second New York edition, following a first outing this past October, still had its European vibe: Conversation flowed in French, German, and Spanish; clipped British accents were overheard; and an abundance of gourmet food, champagne, and fresh flowers channeled March’s annual festivities in Maastricht. (One hungry collector described the crudité bar as “my favorite booth by far.”)
Dealers cited the confluence of Frieze and TEFAF, and the special programming around both, as good enough reason for Europeans (and others) to jump on a plane. Heike Grossmann of Galerie Thomas in Munich said she advised one serious collector, who asked her when to plan a New York trip, to choose this week as opposed to say, March for The Armory Show. The quantity and quality of programming and exhibitions around New York make it worthwhile, she said.
“I said, if you really want to see art besides the museums, I would suggest going to TEFAF and Frieze and all the side events,” she said.
Galerie Thomas brought several pieces by Alexej von Jawlensky, who is also having a show at New York’s Neue Galerie, which were priced up to a few million dollars.

Michael Beck of Düsseldorf and Vienna’s Beck & Eggeling said he had eight German collectors flying in for an artist dinner with Manolo Valdés, the subject of the gallery’s solo presentation, at Daniel, one of New York’s poshest restaurants.
“I always say to my clients: When you have the chance to spend an evening with an artist like Manolo Valdés or Anselm Kiefer—we had a dinner last night with Anselm Kiefer—that’s so enriching,” he said, joking that he himself would fly over to the U.S. for dinner at Daniel with Valdés at the table.
Many prominent New Yorkers showed up too, of course. The fashion set—designers Marc Jacobs and Valentino, and fashion entrepreneur Lauren Santo Domingo—stopped by Galerie Gmurzynska’s futuristic booth designed by Alexandre de Betak, known for his theatrical fashion show sets for the likes of Christian Dior and Céline.
The booth featured masterworks by some of the gallery’s blue-chip stable, including two pieces by Christo, and a large painting by the surrealist Roberto Matta, whose estate the gallery recently began representing. The work sold within TEFAF’s first few hours for roughly $1 million.

TEFAF New York’s Upper East Side location, on Park Avenue and 67th Street, makes it a convenient pit stop for locals such as former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who passed through David Zwirner’s booth, a prime spot near the entrance with works by Anni Albers, Josef Albers, and Ruth Asawa.
“This is very much an Upper East Side, uptown fair,” said Julia Joern, partner at David Zwirner. The gallery had a shared location on East 69th Street from 2000 to 2009 and is opening another space this fall just next door to its former locale. “It’s great to get back here, and we like it for our collectors,” she added.
Two wire sculptures, Untitled (S.531, Hanging Six Lobed, Two Continuous Interlocking Forms) (c. 1950) and Untitled (S.175, Hanging Single-Lobed, Four-Layer Continuous Form within a Form) (c. 1992), and a work on paper, Untitled (SF.042a, Printed cork ends) (c. 1951–52), by Asawa had sold from Zwirner’s stand by Wednesday afternoon for $1.5 million, $400,000, and $100,000, respectively. The gallery also has a booth at Frieze New York this week on Randall’s Island, with works by Carol Bove and William Eggleston.
The two fairs happen almost concurrently, with Frieze’s preview day kicking off Thursday and the fair proper running through Sunday, May 7. But Joern said they draw different collector bases: Frieze is focused mostly on art made since 2000 (often plucked straight from artists’ studios), while TEFAF features a mix of antiquities, high-end design, and modern and contemporary art.
Untitled (S.175, Hanging Single-Lobed, Four-Layer Continuous Form within a Form), ca. 1992. Ruth Asawa David Zwirner
The range of offerings at TEFAF provides an opportunity to reach new would-be collectors, said Sean Kelly, whose eponymous gallery sold a sculpture by Kehinde Wiley on opening day for $250,000, as well as two photographs by Idris Khan.
Frieze and TEFAF are “completely different fairs,” he said. “We enjoy showing alongside really high-end design and antiquities [at TEFAF]. Maastricht has such a venerable history and such a different client base that for us it’s a real opportunity.”
Kelly said he was seeing some new faces too, despite being a regular on the fair circuit.
“There’s a lot of people that I don’t see at any of the other fairs, at the Armory or ADAA or Frieze, so I’m assuming that’s the Maastricht effect,” he said.
The transit works both ways, said Moshe Bronstein, of The Merrin Gallery, a Midtown antiquities dealer. His austere blue-gray booth, just across from Beck & Eggeling’s, featured a range of treasures from Etruscan helmets priced at $28,000 to an Egyptian torso for $2 million, spiked with a black and white Franz Kline painting, which had sold by mid-afternoon.
Bronstein said TEFAF New York gave galleries like his exposure to contemporary and modern art collectors. The handful of antiquities dealers present were scattered around the New York fair, an arrangement that illustrates to potential buyers how easily the genres mix visually. It’s also a change from TEFAF Maastricht, which has nearly three times as many dealers, and where antiquities booths are grouped together in one section.
The sense of history pervades even galleries with a focus on modern and contemporary artists, such as Leon Tovar Gallery, whose two New York locations represent artists from Latin America. Gallery Coordinator Nathaly Berrío-Diaz said they chose to present historical works from the ’60s and ’70s from their artists, such as the Venezuelan kinetic artist Jesús Rafael Soto, whose three-dimensional works drew many admirers.

Lisson Gallery brought early work by 101-year-old Carmen Herrera, highly sought after following her solo retrospective at the Whitney Museum and a current exhibition at Lisson’s New York space. These small paintings were produced during her five-year sojourn in Paris, said international director Alex Logsdail, and have more shapes and forms than her later, reductive work. One sold to an institution on Wednesday.
At Paul Kasmin Gallery, a Lee Krasner gouache on paper, Untitled (1964), sold early for $400,000, as did a polished bronze sculpture by Constantin Brancusi, Le Nouveau-Né (1920), one of an edition of eight.
Eleanor Acquavella of Acquavella Galleries said the New York iteration of TEFAF gave her gallery a welcome chance to participate. Acquavella hasn’t been part of the Maastricht fair, despite the blue chip artists (Pablo Picasso, Lucien Freud) it offers, because of the nearly two week duration of the fair’s European edition. But now that TEFAF has set up shop less than a mile away from her gallery, the pull was irresistible.
“TEFAF is a really good brand across the world, and that’s really the draw for us,” said Acquavella. “There are lots of Europeans here and it’s a brand they know very well and it’s a location that’s great for New York City.”

The Eclectic Arts Household
One of my biggest complaints about Ts4 is that there’s really no cross-compatibility with packs, so every world feels so isolated even though it’s all supposedly “connected.” So roughly a week ago I went through my save and incorporated occults throughout the world (that way *I* got to decide who in my game would show up in occult areas instead of just randos the game auto-assigns). I made Mark (”Marc” in my game - his full name, I decided, is Marquis) into a vampire and Leslie into a werewolf! I added a bunch of elaborate lore backstory for all three of them, but I changed none of their technical aspects - their traits and aspirations are all the same! Oh, and they’re a throuple!! Alice is center of the throuple, but Leslie and Marc have learned to love each other too (mostly through sarcastic banter and their shared admiration of their human, Alice).
They will show up in my Strangerville gameplay, but I just couldn’t wait to share them with you guys.
Full body shots below the cut if you’re interested <3
