Tips on using Akafuyu (other than look how pretty she is)?

Akafuyu is a unit you use as part of a whole rather than by herself. She’s a 5* in a whatever archetype, so she doesn’t benefit from 6* advantages or Good Archetype pass, so she’s definitely a bit more of a passion pick than others, but serviceable for sure.

She fills a more defensive role than her coworkers, with S1 being a 0-block option to heal with or to DPS with a blocker behind her, and S2 is her general use Everything-Relevant-Up while halving HP with a Def Up and a single instance of Shield.

She’s an effective line thinner but won’t be your sole tide turner. Thanks to her unique bulk among Musha, she can last pretty long by herself. If you use Musha-Juggernaut supports, like Angie, Perfumer, or Didi, she particularly benefits from them, so she can last for a while before buckling.

In a game where the meta units are either extreme specialists or versatile stars, she’s neither, being part of a team more than the star, but she earns her keep if used with this in mind.

Hi! Sorry if I'm telling you something you already know, but the way Russian works, 'Petrovna' is a patronymic (like a second name you get from your father), and not a surname; the corresponding surname would be 'Petrova'

Hi!! I'm aware that Petrovna is a patronymic, and I'll explain why I chose to give her that as a surname.

Juliana was born in the mid 16th century as a serf. Most sources that I've seen say that surnames in Russia appeared in the upper classes in the 16th century, but weren't common among the common people until at least a hundred years later.

Here are some quotes from these sources that say that the patronymic used to be the same as the surname:

"The times when all that a person needed was a name are long gone. Sooner or later, it was inevitable that the need to differentiate one Ivan from another would arise. The easiest thing was to specify whose son a particular Ivan was: This is how Russian surnames originally came about." (x)

"Russian surnames started being used relatively recently in history, with the patronymic surname, as was common in other parts of Europe [...] When people began using patronymic surnames, those names eventually stayed the same after a few generations (rather than changing with each generation, as new people were born with new names of their fathers), and the patronymic surname became the family surname." (x)

"Fixed, hereditary surnames did not become common among the Russian peasantry until the late 17th century and early 18th century." (x)

"In the 17th and the 18th centuries, even those peasants who did have surnames, did not inherit them from earlier generations. The surname was the same as the patronymic." (x)

Still, I am by no means a scholar. Please let me know if I've misinterpreted this information, or if there would be a historical reason for her start going by Petrova instead of Petrovna. Thank you so much for your interest! :3

Questions game time~

I was tagged twice by @c-schroed and @6wings-manyeyes so who am I to say no?

So…

1. Three ships

1) trigun policule. like, yeah, Vash/Wolfwood is THE ship, because TRAGEDY, but also whenever I think of them Meryl is also there (because she CALLS him and he COMES BACK). And where Meryl goes Milly appears (they are inseparable I don’t make the rules). So… they can be just friends, they can be in love, not all of them survive, most of the time the whole affair ends up with Vash x graves but. that’s the road I chose to walk.

2) Bubbline aka Marceline the Vampire Queen and Princess Bubblegum from adventure time. I just love them so much they are always somewhere in the background it seems.

3) Momo x Okarun. I love Dandadan it’s crazy cute (but beware there are trigger warnings).

2. First Ship

Candy and Terry from Candy Candy, I think. Oh the drama.

I really liked Seya and Usagi from Sailor Moon too, but I think this one was later.

Hayao Miyazaki and the bird. Oh my good. I knew this one will be depressing and it sure was. Well, no, not depressing, but profoundly sad. We all “joke” about Vash or Doctor Who or any vampire character living too long and seing they loved one die. And here there are people actually living through it. And in this case a person who has created things that affected so so many people around the world he does feel like the Doctor actually. But also there are funny Ibsen scenes and some hella exploitationsl but very pretty cuts between life and Ghibli cartoons.

I was actually presenting the movie in the cinema and well… it was hard to talk about. A whirlpool of emotions.

5. Currently reading.

Memoirs of polar bear by Yoko Tawada. It’s so very Night Valish I want to reopen our online bookclub and talk about it with someone! I actually kinda do as we’ve started a project with friends: annotate the book while reading and then exchange them. It sounds fun. I hope it will be.

Oh. And Dandadan. I’ve been reading it in ongoing mode for 2 years already I think.

6. Currently watching.

Dandadan (holy molly it’s amazing. I ADORE Trigun Stampede for doing their crazy shenanigans with the manga… but also oh my lord h my, what if there was an adaptation THIS close to original and THIS creative with visuals and sound and everything. Science Saru is the best. Just the best… speaking of them though the have their own TriStamp in Devilman Crybaby which is also just the best. Ugh. I digress).

NegaPozi Angler (I love slice of life!)

Orb: about the movement of Earth (holy mother of god. THIS! I want to write about it so much. it horribly hurts me, a person, to afraid to do anything rebellious for he cause I believe in, but it is also something a good piece of art should do I think. “Having read a book won’t make executioner from firing a bullet, but it’ll make them linger for a bit and sometimes this also matters” - or at least that’s how I make my consciousness die…)

Kobayashi-san’s dragon main (ughm that’s rough tbh. On one hand I love the designed, the cuteness, the slice of life vibe and the art style. also it just lets me switch off. but oh god why is it cute one sec and the next - a giggly boobs / lolic*n trash)

Willpower to finish my first ever fic ( >___>) (I’m writing about is so that it was too shameful to justgive up).

The New Media Journalism class, Research and Investigative Skills with James Carstens, was a super involved course that has managed to boost my journalistic confidence immensely! The resources provided were highly detailed, explaining how to conduct interviews, and strategies for engaging relationships. Before class began, I had detailed three goals: to produce higher quality stories, have expert sources, and discuss impactful topics that could bring forth change. Learning how to find public records, reviewing the Freedom of Information Act and crafting infographics are all tools that led me to my final publication of the class – Required Reading for Economic Growth: The Black America Report. 

This course also covered basic ways to analyze data, where to find data and how to interpret and implement the data into custom infographics. These methods bring professionalism to a journalist's work immediately. I have always shared a passion for data, viewing maps and determining patterns to explain an array of lifestyles and cultures. Now, with the ManyEyes software, this data is even more accessible. 

Lastly, I received the Associated Press Stylebook’s most recent version, that I refer to daily. The world’s transition to a highly technological format institutes a writing standard that never ceases to evolve. Although newspapers and the like have been in circulation for centuries, the new media and its interactive capabilities allow for a more informal basis, with quality researched hyperlinks. To continue my pursuit of creating an informative newsletter, in addition to my non-profit, this is a mandatory class.  

In conclusion, learning how to investigate different topics is the foundation for navigating your research. While researching the wealth gap in the city of Detroit, I discovered an increasing number of details surrounding corruption, ignorance, misappropriation of funds, etc., that made my head spin. Most of the details are public information, accessible to anyone that would care to look.

Sanded vs unsanded sides of a very long nose. This is the first layers of primer and first sand for Entropy so I can see what really needs help. I still need to print his lower jaw again. I may try on Jonothan (my elegoo saturn), we'll see. This is going to be a long journey, but worth it in the end. I still have to decide how I want to do all those eyes too. They have to be more flat than most of what's available so I'm looking at sculpting them, one way or another. The last picture is the head with his other primed pieces.
