Flooring Elegance: Selecting Carpets That Reflect Your Hotel's Style
In the world of hospitality design, every detail matters. From the grandeur of the lobby to the comfort of the guest rooms, each element plays a crucial role in shaping the overall ambiance and experience for visitors. Among these design choices, #carpets for hotels stand out as a fundamental component, offering both practicality and aesthetic appeal. In this guide, we delve into the art of selecting carpets that not only enhance your hotel’s style but also elevate the guest experience to new heights.
Tumblr media
Setting the Stage: The Importance of Flooring in Hotel Design
Flooring serves as the foundation upon which the entire design scheme of a hotel is built. It not only unifies the space but also provides a tactile and visual experience for guests as they move through the various areas of the hotel. Carpets, in particular, have the power to evoke a sense of warmth, luxury, and comfort, making them an indispensable choice for hotel interiors.
Reflecting Your Hotel's Style: The Role of Carpets
Just as every hotel has its unique personality and style, carpets offer an opportunity to reflect and enhance these characteristics. Whether your hotel exudes timeless elegance, modern sophistication, or rustic charm, the right carpet can serve as a visual anchor that ties the design elements together cohesively.
For a classic and refined ambiance, consider plush carpets in neutral tones such as ivory, taupe, or charcoal. These timeless hues provide a versatile backdrop that complements a wide range of furniture styles and color palettes, while also exuding an air of understated elegance.
For hotels with a contemporary flair, opt for carpets with bold patterns, geometric motifs, or vibrant colors to make a statement. These eye-catching designs add a touch of modernity and personality to the space, creating visual interest and drawing guests' attention as soon as they enter the room.
Practical Considerations: Durability and Maintenance
While style is undoubtedly important, it's equally essential to consider practical factors such as durability and maintenance when selecting carpets for hotels. High-traffic areas such as corridors, lobbies, and conference rooms require carpets that can withstand frequent use without showing signs of wear and tear.
Look for carpets made from durable materials such as nylon or wool blends, which offer excellent resilience and longevity. Additionally, choose carpets with stain-resistant treatments or easy-to-clean fibers to simplify maintenance and upkeep, ensuring that your hotel always looks its best for guests.
Creating Memorable Guest Experiences
Ultimately, the goal of selecting carpets for hotels are to create memorable guest experiences that leave a lasting impression. Whether guests are attending a business conference, relaxing in the lobby, or unwinding in their rooms, the right carpets can enhance their comfort and enjoyment, making their stay truly unforgettable.
By carefully selecting carpets that reflect your hotel's style, meet practical needs, and enhance the guest experience, you can elevate every aspect of your hotel's design and set the stage for unforgettable moments that keep guests coming back time and time again.

Transforming Spaces with Sustainability: A Look at Leading Wholesale Rug Suppliers
In today's world, sustainability is more than just a buzzword—it's a necessity. As businesses and consumers become increasingly conscious of their environmental impact, industries across the board are adapting to meet these new expectations. The carpet and rug industry is no exception. For wholesale rug suppliers, integrating sustainability into their practices not only enhances their environmental stewardship but also caters to the growing demand for eco-friendly products.
Tumblr media
Why Sustainability Matters in the Carpet Industry
The carpet industry has traditionally been known for its resource-intensive processes. From the extraction of raw materials to the production and disposal of carpets, the environmental footprint can be significant. However, with the rise of sustainable practices, there's a noticeable shift toward reducing this impact.
Sustainability in the carpet industry involves several key areas:
Energy Efficiency: Implementing energy-efficient manufacturing processes and renewable energy sources, such as solar power, helps lower carbon emissions.
Waste Reduction: Recycling and repurposing materials, as well as designing for longevity, minimizes waste and supports a circular economy.
Leading the Way: Sustainable Wholesale Rug Suppliers
Many wholesale rug suppliers are at the forefront of this sustainability movement, embracing practices that align with environmental and social responsibility. Here’s how they’re making a difference:
Innovative Materials: Suppliers are increasingly offering rugs made from sustainable materials. For example, rugs crafted from recycled plastics or organic fibers help reduce the environmental impact while maintaining high quality and durability.
Ethical Manufacturing: Transparent supply chains and ethical labor practices are crucial. Many suppliers are committed to fair trade and ensuring that their products are made under safe, humane conditions.
Durability and Longevity: By focusing on high-quality craftsmanship, suppliers ensure that their rugs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also durable. Longer-lasting products mean fewer replacements and less waste over time.
Choosing a Sustainable Supplier
When selecting a wholesale rug supplier, consider their commitment to sustainability. Look for certifications and practices that align with your environmental values. Suppliers who are transparent about their materials, processes, and social responsibility efforts are more likely to deliver on their promises.
Conclusion
Sustainability in the rug industry Javi home is not just about making a positive environmental impact—it's about meeting the evolving expectations of consumers and businesses alike. By choosing to work with sustainable wholesale rug suppliers, you’re not only enhancing your space with beautiful, high-quality rugs but also supporting a greener, more ethical industry. What is better to use: A carpet or a rug?
Choosing between a carpet and a rug for your home can be a decision that significantly impacts the aesthetics, comfort, and functionality of your living space. Both options offer unique benefits, and the decision ultimately relies on you and your room's purpose.
Carpets, typically larger floor coverings that span the entire room, offer a seamless and cohesive look. They contribute to a unified design, creating a sense of continuity and warmth. Carpets come in a variety of materials, such as wool, nylon, and polyester, each with its own set of advantages. They are ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, and other areas where you want to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
On the other hand, rugs are smaller, versatile pieces that can be easily moved and repositioned. Rugs come in various shapes, sizes, and designs, allowing you to experiment with different styles and layouts in your home. They are particularly beneficial in spaces where you might want to define specific areas, such as under a dining table or in a reading nook. Rugs are also easier to clean and maintain since they can be taken outside for a good shake or even washed more conveniently than wall-to-wall carpets.
Tumblr media
One key consideration when deciding between a carpet and a rug is the level of comfort you desire. Carpets, with their wall-to-wall coverage, provide an unmatched luxurious underfoot feel. They also offer better insulation, making them an excellent choice for bedrooms where you want to experience warmth and comfort when you step out of bed. Rugs, while still comfortable, may not provide the same level of plushness, especially in larger areas where they leave more exposed floors.
Maintenance is another crucial factor. Carpets require more extensive cleaning due to their size and fixed installation. Regular vacuuming, professional cleaning, and potential stain removal can be more challenging. Rugs, being smaller and more portable, are easier to clean. You can simply shake them out, spot clean, or even take them for professional cleaning without much hassle.
In conclusion, the choice between a carpet and a rug depends on your specific needs and preferences. Carpets offer a seamless and luxurious look, providing comfort and insulation throughout a room. Rugs, on the other hand, offer versatility, easy maintenance, and the ability to experiment with different designs. Consider the size of the space, the desired level of comfort, and the amount of maintenance you're willing to undertake when making your decision. Ultimately, both carpets and rugs have their own unique charm and can contribute to creating a stylish and comfortable home. Also, the quality of the carpets and rugs does matter a lot. Therefore, it's recommended always to buy the best carpets in India. You can decide about them via several means: by word-of-mouth, referral, or by online means.

Minors and ageless blogs do not interact (liking/reblogging) or follow! You will be blocked!
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jason Todd x F!Reader
Summary: The Red Hood decides to confront you after work regarding a curious rumor you started as an informant.
/ “You know what I do to bad guys, but what I do to bad girls is even worse.”
Warnings: dubcon, crime lord!Jason Todd/ Red Hood, degradation and humiliation, toys, daddy kink, being called princess, mention of drugs (for the plot)
Scrubbing at your arms to get some kind of warmth, you huffed impatiently. The informant was late. Sure, it was understandable why the Bat would want all contact to be verbal; both of you–well, mainly you–would go down if you were caught. Everyone knew what Cobblepot was capable of. The shorter list of convictions compared to other Gotham criminals didn’t mean that he was less capable, and working for the corporate and legal end of his business meant that you were privy to the real reasons behind the sudden company reorgs.
You shivered before deciding to pace around your office. It wasn’t like the informant to be late. Were they caught? Were you busted? Maybe you should just go home. You spent too many hours working overtime anyway.
The goosebumps weren’t going away. The office A/C that you cherished in the sticky and humid summers of Jersey was now a frigid hell. You weren’t sure of who was punishing you–the Batman or the Penguin.
With the creak of your door, you snapped, “About fuckin’–”
The last word fell into the nylon carpet as you stared into the glowing eyes of the Red Hood. The door slammed shut, and he left it unlocked. It didn’t matter. You knew you wouldn’t be able to get past him anyway. Instead, you froze in front of your desk.
“Yeah, let’s talk about getting fucked.” The robotic drawl of your full name in perfect pronunciation made you grimace as he stepped towards you. Any thoughts of him walking into the wrong office and getting the wrong person were gone. “That was pretty ballsy of you to drop my name in your conversations with the Bat.”
You couldn’t even deny his accusation. You thought you were being clever, that maybe you could do some of that double-crossing shit that the vigilantes and villains played so easily. It seemed easy because you were an amateur; maybe you were fucking up this entire time. All you remembered were the extra zeros in your bank account as you played Batman and your boss.
“Mr. Cobblepot has an image to maintain,” you told the informant–Spanky? Or was it Matches? Either way the name was ridiculous–“so he wouldn’t intentionally let this new drug hit his clubs.”
The latest street drug in Gotham had a similar chemical compound to drugs like buprenorphine and chlordiazepoxide. They eased the symptoms of withdrawal, making a more tolerable and safer transition into sobriety.
“So you’re saying that sobering up his clients isn’t in his best interest?” His mustache twitched, and you wondered if it was glued on or real.
“Exactly. His regular clients would seek out other dealers to get the high they’re used to. They don’t go to the Iceberg Lounge for the atmosphere. They go because it’s one of the safer options to get snowed. Who knows what sort of diabolical shit is mixed into the Black Mask’s supply?”
His mustache wiggled as he hummed. “Well, if it isn’t the Penguin, who else would put this on the streets?”
The informant paid close attention to your words as you paused to give him a new lead.
“Well, if you're looking for the name of a cartel or gang, I wouldn’t be able to tell you. I don’t know much about its manufacturing or distribution. I work in communications, so
”
Crossing your arms, you blew some air as you tried to think of a name to distract the Bat and keep your wallet fat. “The only crime lord that would benefit from this is the Red Hood, don’t you think?”
Ever since he first showed up on the scene, he’d been adamant about cleaning up the underbelly of Gotham. His strict rules against selling to kids made the areas he controlled safer. Commissioning this drug and letting it hit the Gotham market was a way to help addiction-addled neighborhoods rebuild.
His expression was unreadable behind his dark glasses. The only way you knew that he was satisfied with your answer was when you heard your bank app ding with the agreement that you’d meet again in two weeks.
At the time, you thought that mentioning the Red Hood was ingenious. Compared to other criminals, the Red Hood seemed to be less vicious towards women. Since his rise to power, there hadn’t been any reports or news about him or his henchmen attacking them. If the informant wanted you to name drop someone, you were going to choose someone who would maybe spare your life. Yet seeing him up close gave you some doubt.
You swallowed your nervousness as you edged to the desk. Your hands blindly reached for something that could do some damage, but alas, your laptop was packed away and your pens were in their drawer.
“Look,” he sighed, “if you’re gonna play dirty, you gotta make sure your opponent can’t find dirt on you.” It was a roundabout way of calling you a dumbass.
You half turned to watch him circle round your desk, kneeling to dial in the combo to your locked drawer. Stupidly, you got closer when you heard the click that told you he opened it successfully. Using your birthday backwards as the combo was enough to deter nosy co-workers but clearly wasn’t not secure enough to deter a crime lord with a vendetta. If you made it out alive, you promised yourself that you’d change all of your passwords to something with stronger security–you’d even make sure that you didn’t repeat them on several accounts.
“Jesus,” the Red Hood laughed through his modulator, “you got the rechargeable one too? I’m not sure if Cobblefield ain’t paying you shit, batteries are expensive, you’re environmentally-conscious,, or it’s some combination of the above.”
The sight of a cross-armed Red Hood with your rabbit vibe in his hands was something you’d never imagine in your wildest dreams.
“Your little toy isn’t the only thing I found out about you.”
Oh god, what else did he find? Your face felt hot from embarrassment.
“Did you know that the sites you go on and the things you search can still be tracked by an establishment’s WiFi network log?”
He was grinning beneath the mask, you just knew it. Bastard.
“Yeah, even if you use your phone on private browsing
 Crazy, right?”
All you could muster was a choked ‘yeah’ as you tried to recall everything you looked up in the past week. It was highly likely that the Red Hood looked back at least a month. Now what did you search for that wasn’t related to work?
You didn’t have to recall. He listed it out for you in a painfully slow and enunciated manner.
“Red Hood shirtless, Red Hood legs spread, Red Hood dick size, mask or helmet kink, intro to BDSM, what is a service top
And this was just within the past two weeks, goddamn.” He shook his head in judgment. “Should I continue?”
Fuck.
You couldn’t show fear to these types of people, you learned early on in your career. That’s what they got off on.
“What’s wrong with a woman having a healthy sexual appetite?” You asked defensively. “You some kind of prude or what?” That seemed to get a genuine laugh out of him.
“See, here’s the thing,” he told you, helping himself to your luxury office chair, leaning back as his boots settled on the desk. “Everyone thinks that I’m a bad guy, that I just blindly use violence to punish even badder guys. ‘There aren’t any brains under that hood! He’s just some beefy bastard with a fat cock! An idiot! A dunce!’” If he was speaking in some high-pitched mocking tone, his modulator didn’t catch it. It stayed in that robotic monotone.
Jason paused for a second to see if you’d agree, forgetting that a normal reaction was to be scared shitless and mute. When you didn’t make an indication of anything, those combat boots of his hit the carpet with a thud, chair screeching and lurching forward to see your face. Your toy laid forgotten on the desk.
Audibly you swallowed as you looked at him–well, not really him but the mask that he wore, the bright white of his eyes a stark contrast to the cherry red of his helmet. It was the mystery of what he looked like beneath it that drove your imagination wild. What color were his eyes? His hair? How full were his lips? Did he have scars?
As if knowing that you wanted a better angle, he tilted your chin to comply with your unspoken wish. It wasn’t as if it changed anything; you still knew nothing of his looks, but the cool leather of his glove made you more aware of how starved you were of any kind of touch. That healthy sexual appetite you claimed to have suddenly turned into hunger pangs.
“There was a lot of thought put into this plan, sweetheart,” the Red Hood chided.
His glove left your face to press on some hidden panel close to his jaw. There was a soft click that loosened his helmet.
Then you heard him–somewhat muffled and low and incredibly human.
“See, I’m giving you a pretty sick deal. You get to live out one of your fantasies in exchange for recanting your statement to the Bat. Even if I have nothing to hide, I hate whenever the old man comes sniffing around. Don’t worry. I’ll even promise my protection too in the event of retaliation–from him or Cobblepot. Do we have a deal or not?”
Your voice came out breathier than you realized. “And if I say no?”
He made a show of taking off his helmet, and to your surprise, a red domino mask covered his eyes. Tousling his dark curls, he pursed those perfect lips, “Well, shit. When I was searching through those logs, I figured that you’d be so horny for me that refusing wouldn’t even cross your mind.”
It was starting to make sense why Cobblepot was always irritated after dealing with the Red Hood. You laughed. “Look Hood, the quips were cute at first, but they’re getting old fast. You’re so full of yourself. Now tell me what happens if I refuse.”
“One, if you say yes, you could be full of me too.” You imagined that if he took the domino off that he’d punctuate that sentence with a wink. “And two
”
You could hear the smile in his voice along with something devious. When did he get so close? He was slotted between your legs as you sat on the edge of your desk. The cool feel of his gloves pulled your arms back and held your wrists there, leaving you captive to whatever he had to say.
“You know what I do to bad guys, but what I do to bad girls is even worse.”
“Oh yeah?” you breathed out. Fine, you’d admit it. That was fucking hot. “Then show me.”
“Show you what?”
His thigh nudged your center, pushing your dress skirt up with the motion.
“What you do to bad girls,” you said through gritted teeth. His hold on your wrists kept your upper body in place.
“Say it for me first.”
But that didn’t mean that you couldn’t use your leg to drag him closer. You hooked one leg behind him. Now you could feel his length against you though he wouldn’t budge otherwise.
“Please.”
Nothing.
“Daddy, please.”
“You can be obedient when you want to be, huh? Fuckin’ brat.” Jason found amusement in your frustration. “Sorry, but those aren’t the right words. Do we have a deal?”
“Yes.”
“Yes what?”
“Yes, we have a fuckin’ deal.”
Finally that thick thigh was back to putting sweet pressure on your clit, the Red Hood’s slight movements providing teasing friction that kept you slick.
“Atta girl, princess. ‘Fraid I gotta shut you up for a few though. I know your performance reviews say that you’re well-spoken, but they made no mention of you being so damn chatty.”
Before you could talk about the irony of his comment, Jason let your wrists go and stepped back, using his free hands to unzip his pants and pull out his cock and balls. Your mouth hung open at the sight.
Giving it a stroke upwards, his balls followed the movement. Jason smeared his precum over the shaft, giving it a nice shine before ordering you to lay flat on your desk with your head hanging from the edge. His sack looked heavy and full.
“So this is what you meant–”
“Less talking, more sucking,” he grunted, taking the opportunity to shove the tip into your mouth.
The girth was unexpected as your jaw stretched to accommodate his size. You gave it a suck before relaxing your throat to take more of him. Jason eased into you slowly, watching as you swallowed as many inches as you could before pulling out and smearing his spit-laden cock across your mouth. You jerked him while gently sucking on his nuts, thinking about the reward you’d get if you could edge him long enough. The thought of him filling you up with a big, hot load made your center ache.
So focused on your thoughts, you hardly noticed that Jason replaced himself with your toy, watching as your drool frothed and dribbled down your chin while you gagged.
“Be patient with me, princess,” he murmured as he leaned across your body, vibe in hand, to push your panties aside, cock pressing against your cheek. You tried to move your head to take his length but the Red Hood’s weight made it difficult to do so.
Jason wasted no time shoving the entirety of the toy inside you, making you gasp. If you wanted him as desperately as he thought, then he had to prep you well so you could take him.
“Patience,” he lightly scolded you. “Damn, if I knew you were this needy for Daddy’s cock, I would have come earlier so the fun could last longer.” He placed himself back in your throat.
Slow deep breaths through your nose, you reminded yourself. It was difficult though when he was facefucking you in sync with your toy. There was little room for your moans and sighs to escape.
He most definitely understood your muffled ‘FUCK’ when he turned on the toy though, both shaft and rabbit ears vibrating. Your knuckles were white from desperately clutching at whatever you could; you needed something to keep you grounded from the assault on your clit, toy shaped perfectly to hit your G-spot.
The vibe kept making you moan, making your throat squeeze in ways that would make Jason cum early. “That’s it for now,” he said to deaf ears, pulling out to focus on playing with your pussy. He repositioned himself so one hand controlled the toy and the other held you down.
“Is this all you got?” You taunted, sweat catching the neon lights from the window. Your hair was disheveled and stuck to your forehead. Your legs quivered. You looked pathetic.
The Red Hood laughed, and you weren’t sure of what you wanted more of–that mocking robotic modulator or the rich tones of his real voice.
“The way your lips are wrapped around that toy tells me that’s more than enough. If you want this,” his cock was still perfectly hard and this angle highlighted the thick veins that lined his shaft, “then we need to take our time. Luckily for you, I have the patience of a saint.”
“Well, I don’t. Sit down, so I can fuck you.”
He was used to more demure requests to ride him, so your brazen words lit something inside Jason. Fuck it, he thought. He was still annoyed at you mentioning his name to Bruce. It wouldn’t be the end of the world if he watched you struggle to take him.
The toy came out with a yank, your pussy aching. The emptiness was only temporary though. There was something more filling, waiting for it.
Seeing that slight look of surprise on his mouth was worth it as you pushed him onto the chair, spitting on his cock before straddling him. Your panties were lost in some dark corner along with your bra. Your disheveled office wear struggled to maintain your modesty with loose buttons and crumpled fabric.
“Mmfph–fuck!”
Your nails dug into the Red Hood’s shoulders as you tried to find your pace. You had about halfway more to go.
“Told ya,” he said smugly, reaching beneath your dress to squeeze your ass. He buried his face in your tits, sucking on whatever flesh he could. You gasped when he finally reached your nipple, his tender suction making you shiver.
“Big motherfucker,” you grumbled, bouncing up and down on what you could with his help.
“Damn, you feel good,” Jason sighed.
Lately he’d been so focused on the complicated aspects of his line of work; it seemed like he could never just chill and do something for himself. Isn’t that what all the experts say? That self-care was important?
So when one of his informants told him that Bruce and his band of bat brats were poking around his turf, Jason’s first thought was to dispose of whoever Bruce paid off. When the informant said that the rat was the Iceberg Lounge’s hot publicist, he considered his first reaction too harsh, that perhaps it’d be best if he investigated this personally. Oh, he was so fucking glad that he did.
With each bounce, he pushed you lower on his length, and he’d go by half-inches if it meant reaching heaven. Fucking you with the toy first was a brilliant idea. Even though you didn’t say it, he knew you came. That’s why you were struggling on his cock. That cute little cunt of yours was still spasming from your first orgasm. How could anyone be so tight and wet, he thought, and for him.
He sat back and watched as you kept riding him with frustration. Your sweet pussy nectar was pooling at the base, and the lewd sounds it made was music to his ears. But the sound of his balls slapping your cheeks would be even nicer.
“Good effort, princess, but you’re starting to look pathetic and needy and desperate. What?” He laughed, swiping his thumb along your pout. “It’s cute. Daddy’ll take care of you.”
He hoisted you off him with ease, giving you another reason to make your pussy throb. A part of you wanted to ask him to fuck you while standing or maybe against the wall. No! A small rational voice told you. Let’s see what he does first.
Laying you on the ground, he pushed your legs back with your ankles on his shoulders, exposing your cunt to cool air. It was slick and puffy from all the work you put in. Taking two fingers, Jason spread your lips so he could tease your clit. Each little movement made you twitch.
Perfect, he thought. He knew how to get you where he wanted. The feeling of his thick, heavy tip rubbing your most sensitive spot made your toes curl as you huffed and moaned at his touch. Your hips pressed up in a weak attempt to slip it in. Your heels were nearly dangling off your feet from the movement.
“Since you want this cock so badly, I’ll give it to you, princess, but we’re doing it my way.”
Eagerly, you nodded. Your way, his way. It didn’t matter as long as he was in you.
Yet quickly you found out that you shouldn’t have agreed so readily. He moved impossibly slow.
“It’s a shame,” he tried to make small talk, one gloved hand carefully keeping the distance between you and his cock while the other balanced his weight above you, “that you chose to work for Cobblepot. How bout you work for me instead? Name your salary–I’ll double it. As a bonus, we can even fuck whenever you want.”
“You act as if I need your cock.”
Ignoring your tone, Jason stated the obvious. You did. Your body practically melted in the carpet when he went completely in.
“Look how full you are. You think you can go back to your toys or another man’s cock after this? I ruined you, princess.” Instead of sounding remorseful, he was proud. “I bet in the days after, you’ll be thinkin’ ‘bout how empty you feel without me.”
You didn’t want him to have the satisfaction of being right–his cock felt so good once you got through that first bit of discomfort–but there was no point in being stubborn. The Red Hood didn’t intend on having you hear him out. He was going to show you.
He fucked you as roughly as you imagined, using long strokes that left both of you breathless. There was something erotic about the sudden silence. There was only heavy breathing and moans, slick sounds and pounding.
And when you came, it was like the lights cut out, eyes squeezed shut for total darkness. The only electricity existed in his touch, sparking waves of pleasure throughout your body.
–
Uncertain if you actually dozed off or not, you woke up to a familiar mechanic hum. He had his helmet back on, his clothes back to their baseline level of grunge. Perhaps it was because of the intimacy you shared, but the Red Hood seemed far less threatening now compared to the start of the night.
“Don’t forget about the deal we made,” he told you, standing near your feet.
Like him, going back to how you normally were was easy now that lust no longer clouded your actions.
“And what if I don’t?” you asked, standing slowly from sore muscles. “Like you said earlier, I am a bad girl.”
“I’ve already planned for that.”
You tried to fix your dress to the best of your abilities. It was no use though. It was a poor victim of your decisions.
“Well, if that’s the case, expect another visit.”
You stalled, letting the fabric fall as you tried to decipher his meaning behind the modulator. Was that a threat or a promise?
“And next time, I’m coming during office hours.”
You let the warm sensation of his cum sliding down your thighs decide for you.

The IRA is the Biden Administration’s signature climate law. The historic act is the most aggressive climate policy in U.S. history, rolling out billions in tax breaks and other incentives with the goal of cutting economy-wide carbon emissions 40% by 2030.
Every congressional Republican voted against the bill, arguing it was nothing more than handouts to prop up climate and social justice programs. Some on the extreme right continue to argue that climate change is a hoax. But now some GOP House members who voted against the IRA are urging their leader to consider saving key portions of it.
In fact, it is the red states that overwhelmingly have benefitted from the federal government’s infusion of clean energy money, according to a report released today by, a national nonpartisan group of more than 10,000 business leaders that advocates for a cleaner economy and environment.
Friday marks two years since Biden inked his signature on the IRA. Companies have announced roughly 330 clean energy and vehicle projects since that time, efforts that could create 109,278 jobs and bring in a whopping $126 billion in private investments, if completed, according to the E2 report.
E2’s report breaks down IRA-boosted projects by state, sector and industry as well as by congressional district. It found that “nearly 60% of the announced projects — representing 85% of the investments and 68% of the jobs — are in Republican congressional districts.”
Among the major projects is the South Korea-based solar manufacturer QCells. Last year it announced a $2.5 billion expansion in Dalton, Georgia, spurring more than 2,500 jobs and helping change a town known as the “carpet capital of the world” into a destination for clean energy manufacturing.
Since 2022, the northern third of Nevada has added more than 5,000 jobs from a $6.6 billion investment in projects such as the Rhyolite Ridge and Thacker Pass lithium mines as the state aims toward becoming the lithium capital of the United States.
And in North Carolina, $19.7 billion has been poured into the state, creating 22 clean energy projects and more than 10,000 jobs in solar, recycling, electric vehicle and battery manufacturing. The investments include a $13.9 billion Toyota Motor North America EV/hybrid battery plant slated to open next year.
E2’s report is based on publicly available information, including news releases and formal government announcements. Roughly one-third of the information did not include how much money was being invested or how many jobs a project was expected to create, E2 stated.
In other words, the impact of the IRA is likely broader than the nonprofit’s tally. That bodes well for environmentalists and clean energy advocates.
18 congressional Republicans signed a letter to GOP House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana urging him to be cautious in repealing all or parts of the IRA — something Trump has vowed to do if he is again elected president.
“Energy tax credits have spurred innovation, incentivized investment and created good jobs in many parts of the country — including many districts represented by members of our conference,” the Aug. 6 letter to Johnson said.
The Congress members said they had heard from industry and constituents that clawing back previously issued energy tax credits, especially on projects that already broke ground, would undermine private investments and stop development.
“A full repeal would create a worst-case scenario where we would have spent billions of taxpayer dollars and received next to nothing in return,” the letter states.

I think with the general public Ferrari is going to be received like Blackhat and some of its most piercing insights and subtext will go unremarked upon even by critics who should be able to intuit the figure in the carpet by now, I.E. that Mann has been making "deconstructionist antiwar films" with extraordinary consistency since The Jericho Mile. (I used that phrase as a joke with a friend last night but upon reflection it works pretty well lol.) In 10-15 years people will maybe see it better for what it is, as has been the case with a lot of his more recent work. People are also going to harp on his casting the way they did with Blackhat even though he makes these decisions for calculated and, again, consistent reasons that have to do with Hollywood as an industry and the manufacturing of stardom. This is a guy who has historically made very active use of intertext and audience expectation in who he pursues and ultimately casts (Caan, Pacino, De Niro, Cruise, Foxx, and definitely also Hemsworth who at that time was very strongly associated with his breakout role as Thor).
Cut for very mild spoilers:
After the tragic crash that ends the Mille Miglia, which Mann represents with unsparing brutality, much of the film's third act revolves around the investigation of the crash and whether the deaths of women and children will affect Ferrari's bottom line. Winning the Mille Miglia was the company's last gambit against impending insolvency, and though they have won, they may need to take on outside financing regardless in order to save the brand. It is clear that a potential mechanical failure also weighs on Ferrari's conscience, but when it is discovered that an external impact and not the tire's construction resulted in the accident, he quite easily compartmentalizes and rationalizes his role in the carnage. The car itself was just an instrument; it functioned as intended and in fact the only way it could be expected to function; blame lies on the other side. These things happen and it is part of the deal and cannot be helped.
I also keep thinking of a scene in the garage where he is talking to an old friend and close confidante. There are pigeons in a hutch right above where one of the cars is being worked on, and said confidante says that he accidentally left the door open and none of them have flown away because it's like they don't even realize that it exists. Ferrari suggests that the reason they don't leave is because "leaving" as the pigeons see it entails being turned into pie filling, so they ought better stay inside the hutch where it is safe.
Lots to think about after just this first pass and I've been steeping in those thoughts all day. And much more, inevitably, to organize upon subsequent viewings. I'll come back to this in December.

Why Hospitality Designers Love Handmade Rugs for Carpet Solutions
In hospitality design, every detail counts. From furniture to lighting, every element must contribute to creating a welcoming, stylish, and functional environment. One of the most impactful design elements in these spaces is the flooring. Whether it’s a luxury hotel, a trendy restaurant, or a boutique resort, carpets and rugs play a key role in shaping the atmosphere. Many hospitality designers have come to prefer handmade rugs for their ability to combine artistry, durability, and functionality in ways that mass-produced hospitality carpets simply cannot.
Tumblr media
1. Unmatched Aesthetic Appeal
The primary reason many designers favor handmade rugs is their unique aesthetic appeal. Unlike machine-made carpets, which tend to have a uniform, predictable look, these rugs offer an individual character that adds richness to any room. Each piece is crafted with intricate patterns, textures, and colors that stand out, helping to create a memorable first impression.
In hospitality spaces where ambiance is everything, these rugs help set the tone. Whether it’s a traditional design or a modern interpretation, the beauty of these rugs enhances the overall decor. They can tie a room together, acting as both a functional element and a striking visual feature. Designers often choose these pieces to create an inviting, luxurious atmosphere that aligns with the brand’s identity, ensuring guests feel both welcome and indulged.
2. Customization and Flexibility
A significant advantage of choosing a handmade option for hospitality spaces is the ability to customize the rug to perfectly fit the design needs of the space. Designers can select the size, color, texture, and pattern, allowing them to create a truly unique look. Customization offers a level of personalization that is often essential in hospitality design. It allows the rug to complement the overall aesthetic, whether the aim is to reflect local culture, emphasize a particular style, or match other furnishings.
The ability to tailor a rug to suit specific spatial needs is also important. For example, a designer may need a rug to fit perfectly under a dining table or a particular seating area. Handmade options allow designers to accommodate these needs without compromising on style or functionality, ensuring that the rug enhances the space rather than overwhelming it.
3. Durability and Longevity
Durability is another key factor that makes handmade rugs a preferred choice in high-traffic hospitality environments. These rugs are crafted from high-quality materials such as wool, cotton, or silk, making them highly resilient to wear and tear. In spaces like hotel lobbies, corridors, and restaurants where guests are constantly walking, the rug must be able to endure without losing its charm.
High-quality materials ensure that these rugs maintain their appearance over time, even in busy areas. Wool, for instance, is naturally stain-resistant and fire-retardant, which makes it a particularly practical choice. The intricate weaving process also contributes to the rug’s resilience, making it more durable than mass-produced alternatives. In the hospitality industry, where maintaining a fresh and polished look is important, these rugs provide lasting value.
4. Sustainability and Eco-Friendliness
As sustainability becomes a key focus in the hospitality industry, many designers are opting for eco-friendly materials in their projects. Rugs made from natural fibers such as wool, cotton, and silk are often much more sustainable than synthetic alternatives. Many of these rugs are produced using traditional, environmentally friendly methods that don’t rely on harmful chemicals or processes.
By choosing these natural, sustainable options, designers can reduce the environmental footprint of their hospitality projects. In addition, many rug makers use locally sourced materials, further minimizing the impact on the environment. In today’s eco-conscious world, incorporating such elements into hospitality design can also be a selling point, attracting guests who prioritize sustainability.
5. Cultural and Artistic Value
Handcrafted rugs carry a unique cultural and artistic value that mass-produced carpets cannot replicate. Each rug is a product of traditional craftsmanship, with designs often reflecting the heritage of the artisan’s region. Whether it’s the intricate patterns of a Persian rug or the bold designs of a modern creation, these pieces carry a story, offering a way for designers to weave culture and history into their spaces.
For designers working in boutique hotels or culturally-themed restaurants, these rugs provide an opportunity to create an immersive experience for guests. By choosing pieces that reflect local traditions or artistry, designers can enhance the guest experience, making the space feel authentic and connected to its environment. Guests can feel the cultural richness in the space, which can add to the overall appeal of the venue. This connection to cultural identity is often difficult to achieve with more generic hospitality carpets, which may lack the same depth of story and artistry.
6. Comfort and Acoustic Benefits
In hospitality design, comfort is essential. The right flooring not only has to look good, but it must also feel good underfoot. Rugs made from natural fibers like wool or cotton offer a level of comfort that is hard to match with synthetic alternatives. Whether placed in a bedroom, lounge area, or lobby, these rugs add a soft, plush feeling that enhances the comfort of the space.
Additionally, these rugs provide significant acoustic benefits, especially in large, open areas such as hotel lobbies or event spaces. Hard surfaces can create noise and echo, making a space feel less intimate or comfortable. Rugs absorb sound, helping to reduce noise and create a more peaceful environment. This is particularly important in hospitality settings where guests expect a serene and quiet experience.
7. Value and Investment
While handmade rugs can come with a higher initial cost than machine-made alternatives, their longevity and lasting appeal make them a sound investment in the long run. These rugs retain their beauty over time, offering excellent durability and minimal maintenance, which means they don’t need to be replaced as often. The high-quality materials and expert craftsmanship ensure that they will continue to look beautiful and serve their purpose for many years.
Moreover, the unique nature of these rugs makes them highly desirable, especially in luxury hospitality environments. They add significant value to the space, contributing to the overall aesthetic and making the environment feel more high-end. This can be particularly important in creating a memorable experience for guests, which is a key priority in the hospitality industry.
Conclusion
For hospitality designers, #HandmadeRugs are an ideal choice for creating inviting, stylish, and functional spaces. Their unique aesthetic, durability, customization options, and cultural value make them an essential element in hospitality design. These rugs are not only beautiful, but they are also practical, offering long-lasting performance in high-traffic areas while enhancing the overall ambiance of the space. As the hospitality industry continues to prioritize sustainability and guest experience.

David Tennant in 'The Slab Boys Trilogy' (1994)
A lot of you know (or may not know but are just finding out!) I've done tons of research on DT's early Scottish theatre work (80s/90s) for a developing podcast to share my discoveries. Today let's veer off and talk about a play DT alluded to in a recent interview, shall we? In a interview with Kelly-Anne Taylor on The Radio Times Podcast, David spoke about his first job when he moved to London. "I worked at the Young Vic, that seemed unspeakably glamorous to a boy from Paisley. I mean I was doing a play set in Paisley, so I was pretty good casting!" The play he's referring to was called THE SLAB BOYS TRILOGY - which, as it sounds, was actually a set of three plays by Scottish playwright John Byrne. The first play in the set was called "The Slab Boys". The second was "Cuttin' A Rug", and the third was "Still Life." This trilogy of plays was set in Paisley, Scotland - surprise surprise! But why? Because John Byrne is from Paisley, too, and he worked as a slab boy in a carpet factory. And what's a slab boy? They're the fellows who mix and grind colors for a company's design department. John Byrne's a Scottish cultural institution. Byrne graduated from The Glasgow School of Art. He was once commissioned to design a possible cover for the Beatles' White Album but his design - though rejected at the time - was used on the 1980 "Beatles Ballads" LP. But I digress! (...though seriously, check him out! He designed other LP covers, too, like for Gerry Rafferty and Donovan! He's an interesting character indeed. And he was once Tilda Swinton's partner, too, so yeah...) But back to the play(s)! It's May 1994. David's just finished his run as Edmund Tyrone in "Long Day's Journey Into Night" at the Dundee Rep. Playing his mother was the grande dame of Scottish theatre, Edith MacArthur, better known in the fandom as the predictor of DT's future stardom. For those who don't know - MacArthur spotted David's talent when she saw him perform as a child in a school play called 'Gypsum's Journey'. MacArthur told his parents she predicted he'd be a successful stage actor & she'd probably play his mother. She was right. She did. Twice! So...it's May 1994. David had filmed "Takin' Over The Asylum" - he finished filming that in late Oct of 1993, where he had met Arabella Weir - and then did "Long Day's Journey Into Night." So now, given the chance to become Arabella's tenant, he made his famous move to London. David had met another lovely lady filming "Takin' Over The Asylum" - Katy Murphy (Francine). Though I don't know exactly how David heard about or got the job on The Slab Boys, it's important to note Katy Murphy had a role too. Did one hear about it & tell the other? Seems likely!
So what are the plays about? In short, The Slab Boys Trilogy spans the 1950s-1970s and is about three working class young men (Phil, Spanky and Hector) who have jobs in the slab room of a carpet manufacturer.
According to the National Library of Scotland: "It is a Friday in 1957. Phil, Spanky and Hector are young lads working in a Paisley carpet factory as 'slab boys'. They should be grinding up powder for the paint slabs, but they prefer to do as little work as they can and smoke as much as possible. Young, sharp and bored, they discuss their aspirations. Phil dreams of a place at Glasgow Art School, while Spanky wants to go to America and become the next Elvis. Hector dreams of taking Lucille from the mail room to the staff dance – which is also on Spanky's agenda."
David got the role of Alan Downie in "The Slab Boys" and "Cuttin' A Rug." Alan was better-off than the others; his father knew the boss, and he went to work in the slab room temporarily before going off to university. The others didn't like Alan.
Katy Murphy played Lucille.
In the second play, "Cuttin' A Rug" (set on the evening immediately following the action of The Slab Boys), the boys are off to the annual factory staff dance. David's character Alan had begun university and shows up in his father's car with Lucille.
(The third play of the trilogy, "Still Life", was set in a cemetery on the morning of a winter's day in 1967 for Act One, and Act Two on a winter's afternoon in 1972. David wasn't a part of this one, so I don't have as many facts on it as I do the others.)
Now we've established what the plays were about, let's talk about how they were received. All three plays ran at London's Young Vic from 9 Sep 1994 til 12 Nov 1994. Directed by Tim Supple, the set and costume designer was John Byrne himself!
During the week the three plays were in rep - meaning each was performed on successive nights - except for Saturdays, when all were back to back: "The Slab Boys" began at 11a, "Cuttin' A Rug," at 2:30p, and "Still Life" at 7:30p. You could see the set for ÂŁ24, or each for ÂŁ6-ÂŁ12.
Reviews were generally good ("an exhilarating example of true ensemble work" and "performed with considerable power"). But it wasn't a box office win, and only drew in less than 40% of the revenue it needed to break even. It wasn't of great benefit to the Young Vic.
But - along with the premiere of "Takin Over The Asylum" in late Sep 1994, which introduced David to the world at large - "The Slab Boys" has the distinction of being the first theatre job DT got upon moving to London. His second was "What The Butler Saw." But that's for later.😁
Now if you've stuck with me this long, you deserve a goodie! Official photographs for the play's run at the Young Vic were taken by Billy Cooper (and a few from the play with David in them float about out there.) The goodie today is this: this is a clip from STV doing a feature on John Byrne at the time of the run at the Young Vic. If you look really close, you can see a brief (like "if-you-blink-a-few-times-you'll-miss-him") video of David in the play! He'll be the fellow in the white coat.

December!! Christmas times!! The holidays!! Wahoo!!
There's of course always a lot of excitement in the air during December, even if its...largely manufactured by big companies. Yet ever since 2016, I've had far more of a personal attachment to the month - the end of SiIvaGunner Season 1, and the beginning of Season 2, was some of the most engrossed I've ever been engrossed with a piece of media - and it was all punctuated with the Patched Plains Fusion Collab.
It may be hard to truly convey to newer SiIva viewers just how suspenseful and strange the month of October was during 2016. For all intents and purposes, the channel appeared to have truly ENDED with Epic Flintstones, and everything that led up to its release just further cemented that. We'd gotten behind-the-scenes reveals of unresolved content, some of the channel's biggest projects and collaborations up to that point, a huge amount of new albums within such a short amount of time...there was very little to suggest that SiIva wouldn't actually be ending. Yet viewers paying attention would be able to connect the dots, these small little hints dropped during the finale, all connected to "Wood Man" - and mind you, this was before he was even established as a character on the channel!
Just a few days after the official ending, as SiIva had gone to sleep and the channel had been avoiding uploads for so long - uploads suddenly returned, as this "Wood Man" character became the new host at the start of November. This wasn't the first time a story event had been happening on SiIva, yet it was one that left us as viewers confused and in the dark of what was truly happening, due to the lack of a proper narrator. After just two weeks and an album release, halfway through the month, uploads suddenly ceased and the channel went dark. So...was the channel actually dead? Was this just a little bonus Halloween thing, to let the team play around with Wood Man as a character in an epilogue to the actual channel?
Turns out, it was all build-up to December - to the Christmas Comeback Crisis. The channel ending, the virus in his computer, the Voice Inside Your Head, Wood Man - it was all revealed to be part of this all new ongoing storyline, presented to us in full-on episodes during the month of December. Like a light switch turned on, the confusion and uncertainty of November turned into full-on celebration of SiIva's seemingly-now-confirmed return to regular uploading. This was the start of Season 2 - and it was, in my eyes, an absolutely perfect premiere.
I really want to go more in-depth on this someday, but I'll circle back to Patched Plains Fusion Collab to round the story out - because really, it was this rip that really cemented Season 2 as having officially begun, halfway through December 2016. It had been a month since Wood Man's sudden leave from the channel, and out of nowhere we're given an animated prologue to this all-new Christmas-themed storyline, directly based on Kirby: Planet Robobot from earlier that year. And after that sudden gut punch, we're treated to an absolute feast for the ears - a red-carpet introduction to the sort of quality we were about to experience. Kirby: Planet Robobot already had a heavy presence on SiIva due to The Reboot, and so starting this big new story event off with another rip from that same game felt like a sort of reassurance - this wasn't a bit, or a side story, or anything of the sort, but the full next step of the SiIvaGunner channel.
As a rip, it's frankly excellent - it has all the quality of the average Fusion Collab on the channel condensed down to just two minutes, covering everything from different genres of music, different games, different time signatures, and everything inbetween - a remix collaboration in the purest sense of the word, and an absolute treat to listen to. A big benefit to fusion collabs of this nature is that you're able to very clearly identify who is responsible for what parts of the rip - Princess Sylvyspirit's involvement is immediately noticeable as soon as the Touhou segment begins, Chaze's affection for MOTHER 3 is expressed through his part in the collaboration, and so on!
Despite the song only having a brief segment on Christmas near the beginning, the spirit is absolutely there throughout all of Patched Plains Fusion Collab - its a celebration of what was to come, a joyous theme that let all of its collaborators truly show their stuff at the start of this new age for the channel. And its a rip that I often come back to just for that sheer nostalgia alone.

The upcoming Broadway production of the musical Maybe Happy Ending starring Darren Criss and Helen J Shen will be delayed by nearly a month due to what producers say are supply chain issues related to the custom-made scenic design.
Originally announced to begin previews at the Belasco Theatre in September ahead of an October opening, the musical will now start performances on Wednesday, October 16 with opening night set for Tuesday, November 12. (A red-carpet company celebration will be held on Monday, November 11 ahead of the official press opening.)
Executive producer Allan Williams said that the musical “uses specially made video projections, which are a critically important part of its scenic design and unfortunately, there has been a delay in production for these custom theatrical goods from the factory which specializes in these models.” The supply chain issue, he continued, “has caused the show’s postponement by a few weeks so that we can ensure the show maintains its unique and technologically advanced rendering to tell this story and the world of HelperBots ‘Oliver’ and ‘Claire’.”
Neil A. Mazzella, Tech Supervisor and CEO, Hudson Scenic, said in a statement, “Many industries over the past few years have been experiencing major delays in manufacturing due to material shortages, labor shortages, shipment delays and the theatre industry has also been hit. The creative team for this show has designed a distinctive set and while the factory delay has been frustrating news to get, we are ensuring that the set gets built and delivered safely to the Belasco Theatre so that audiences get to see this show as it has so masterfully been intended to be presented.”
Directed by Michael Arden (Parade) and featuring music by Will Aronson, lyrics by Hue Park and book by both Aronson and Park, Maybe Happy Ending is described as a offbeat musical set in a one-room apartment on the outskirts of Seoul, where “HelperBot” Oliver (Criss) lives a happily quiet life listening to jazz records and caring for his favorite plant.
The synopsis continues, “But what else is there to do when you’re a HelperBot 3, a robot that has long been retired and considered obsolete? When his fellow HelperBot neighbor Claire (Shen) asks to borrow his charger, what starts as an awkward encounter leads to a unique friendship, a surprising adventure, and maybe even
love?”
