It’s not necessarily strange for a dream to change; the world is in constant change, so, it’s normal for dreams to change too. But they usually need the help of the Dreamlord, the Shaper of form to do so, especially a change as big as the one Hob manifested. 

One of his birds, his trusted hawk acquiring a human form is certainly a big change. But if someone is stubborn enough to do it on his own that one would be Hob. Hob, always cheeky, always brash and always loyal to a fault. 

And always a birdbrain, it seems. 

Even now, with human form, Hob seems to forget he now has hands and can grab things instead of going headfirst into the table to try to pick up something with the beak he no longer has. 

Dream has seen him try to fly and land into his face twice now, he has also seen him try to perch into anything and immediately lose equilibrium forgetting his human feet can no longer grab the back of chairs or the handles of the stairs. 

But now… well, Dream has no idea what Hob is doing but it cannot be normal human behaviour. He is walking on the top floor of the library, coming and going around the same corner over and over again, sometimes he sees him carrying something but Dream is not entirely sure what it is or where he is getting whatever he is carrying. 

“Hob” Dream called once he reached the top floor of the library “What are you doing?” His ex-hawk has hurt himself enough times already in the past few days, the intelligent thing to do is intercept him before he could do it again. 

“Lord Morpheus!” Hob smiled, his arms full of blankets. “You’re just in time, I'm almost finished.” 

“Finished with what?” 

“Come see!” 

Wary, he follows Hob to a small balcony and for a moment Dream is afraid Hob forgets he is not a bird anymore and jumps from there. But before he can do anything, Hob throws the bunch of blankets to a pile of pillows he gathered there. 

“It’s a sweet lookout doesn’t it?” Hob says, proud of his little nest, at the time he sits on top of it. 

“It is… nice.” It is, actually, he can see a good part of the Dreaming in here. 

“Wanna sit with me for a while?” Hob asks, sheepishly. “I know you have a much nicer balcony and surely a better place to sit than the floor, but, ya’know…” 

Before Hob could continue rumbling Dream sat down next to him, it's a bit tight for both of them, but he was used to have Hob on his shoulder before, the closeness is not unfamiliar and, Dream has to admit, it's nice to be this close again.

Hob is beaming at him, the biggest of smiles adorning his face and Dream can’t help but smile back.

Today I learned that sentences in English are separated by full stops. All this time I have been writing them wrong. You see, sentences in Spanish go on and on just separated by commas.

So, just to make sure, because I'm insecure af, I took the first book written originally in Spanish that I had close to me. I checked for the English translation (the style is preserved.) So here is a fragment by Rómulo Gallegos.

I'd like to know what you English speakers think. Are the sentences too long? Do they look normal?
