Thank you Lord for today. I am here in Mactan International Airport for my flight to Manila. My heart is grateful, thank you Lord, I am able to do this. I love you Lord. This is it, going to Manila alone, my friend Faith (moookie) will fetch me at the airport.
My flight is at 11:00PM, currently waiting here at Jollibee maybe until boarding time. I am a bit sleepy right now. Huehue. Didn't have a good and enough sleep last night because I prepared my things. By the way, I am just using my backpack because I'm afraid my trolly will be disallowed for hand carry. But I remember, hahaha I have to #travellight hahahaha. Now, nagsisisi bat hindi nag luggage. Haha travel light nga pala ako para less hussle? Sana. :D
I just read the conformation of the Malacanang Tours this morning by the way :) Thank you Lord.
I left the boarding house at around 6:00PM. Rode a jeepney (about to ask the Golden Peak guard if there's a jeep passing going to SM when I saw a jeepney coming decided to check fist then, tadaaan God given, it's for SM, thank you Lord) to SM then rode via MyBus to Airport. At Ayala, there's a familiar face to entered the jeep she is one of the scholars of AFPSLAI. :D good to see you... huhu I forgot the first name at that moment (Clarisse Monroid). She parted at SM. :D
By the way, only Maam Lanie knew about this trip of mine to Mnl.
Today, I always see Sir Tommy watching a video on his phone which is unusual. I checked and it's basketball! Haha hmmm FIBA. He's interested in watching FIBA I thought to have a photo there at the Philippine Arena or even watch a game then have a photo. I asked him, "sir toms, kinsa imo ganahan lantawon player sa FIBA?" She jokingly replied, "Ikaw" hahahhahhaha. We'll see sir Toms. XD
By the waaay, arrived at the airport having no idea where to, I just followed the signages, thank you Lord for this experience.
The Guard checked my ticket and my ID of course I presented my passport (haha no sticker yet xD)
Proceeded to the check in area asked to the attendant if there's a walk in check in, but she suggested to do the self check in instead, i have to have the line if walk i check in and I saw thats its soooo long (huhu don't want to try because I want to tell the ground crew to have me at the window seat huhu but I tried nalang) I tried the self check-in the first thing I checked was my seat # woaaah. Haha It states "30F" ohhh, I think this is a window seat, Lord, thank you. But sana window, not aisle or center.
Went inside immediately nalang cause I don't know where to. I didn't know where to go to, para akong tangs talaga hihi paila na first time but it's okay hahahaha. The guy instructed me the way haha. They uses bar code to enter, I just copied the girl infront of me but.. hahahaha the guy helped me instead, geeeerl hahahha then when I am about to the scanning machine, I need to get my bags and all to the tray then the guy said that the shoes are need to be removed, pak geeerl, your socks hahaha imong gipiko raba ay. Hahaha. What I did was I really went there at the edge of the scanning machine so no one can see me fixing my socks as I remove my shoes omyy, haha. I just thought that, they don'tlnow me anyway. Hahahahhahhahahaha. 'Girl, your tiara, aja girl!' XD
Went to the CR (even di kaihion just because I saw it, so I entered nalang) silently screamed in the CR out of my mixed emotions hahahha I was kiligged because of my experience, as well as embarrassed haha. Then when I was out, the faucet didn't function well, myygoowdness again hahaha ignorante ka gorl hahah and the soap dispensed small amount of liquid hahahhaha. I hadn't even air dry my hands because I don't know how to use it.
Rome around to check what around and find somewhere to eat and tadaaan, the last sort is Jollibee. Guess what, Lechon costs 300+ hahaha so Jollibee is the best choice for my budget. XD
EXPENSES
12.00- Golden Peak to SM (MyBus)
50.00-SM to Mactan International Airport (MyBus)

So,

Quarantine Travel: Manila Getaway
Tumblr media
A busy morning street of Binondo’s Chinatown in Manila, Philippines at March 5, 2021 amidst this on-going pandemic quarantine.
Visit the bustling metropolitan center of the Philippines, Manila and experience its beauty! While we are on the current pandemic, my partner and I will never stop reaching our bucket list for the year. It was on March 5, 2021 when we experienced again the beauty of Manila amidst this on-going pandemic.
At first, make sure that you have your face mask and face shield with you in accordance with the minimum health standards set by the IATF against CoVid-19 before you go travel. Now, upon arriving at the busy city of Manila early in the morning, we headed first in the City Palace Square to grab our breakfast to get ready for our exhausting Manila Tour. This is the place where you can grab a bite to different foods and enjoy shopping your fetishes in a cheaper amount. Moving forward, after taking our breakfast, we then proceed and tour within the vicinity of Binondo.
Tumblr media
A calm and quiet architectural inside view of the historical Binondo Church that was open during CoVid-19 pandemic.
We roamed around the Manila’s branded “Chinatown” and experienced their foods, architecture, and history that will also satisfy your visit in here. Afterwards, we stopped over to Binondo Chruch or the National Shrine of Saint Lorenzo Ruiz, which is a church founded in 1596 to serve the Chinese Christian converts in the area. Then after enjoying the Binondo area, we headed toward the city proper and visited the famous Rizal Park. This is a historical site for this is where the execution of our National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal happened. We also went to experience the majestic museums in the area but sadly, as a quarantine protocol, you need to have an online appointment first before entering the museum. We then headed to one of the most historical places in Manila, the Intramuros which is a home of Spanish-era landmarks and atmosphere in the country. It is just a fifteen-minute walk from the museum.
Tumblr media
The captured outside majestic view of the Mother of All Churches in the Philippines, the Manila Cathedral in a peaceful and sunny afternoon.
Inside the Intramuros, we went to the famous Manila Cathedral that is considered as the Mother of All Churches here in the Philippines. It is the premier church of the country where the marble altar was a masterpiece created by Giuseppe Perischetti. Then our last destination is at the food market of Intramuros where we have our snack and enjoy the beauty of the place for the last time. After a long and tiring journey, we decided to go home for it was already late and the curfew in our area was still implementing. It was a bit tiring and exhausting tour but unforgettable one since we managed to travel despite of this on-going pandemic.
Truly, traveling from different places can guarantee you a relaxing and refreshing outcome towards this stressful lockdowns that are happening around the world. We must be always mindful that despite of the privilege of traveling, we must ensure our safety first before anything else. Thus, traveling in a mixed present and pre-historic destination, especially in our local areas is evidently relieve stress and anxieties in our life

Had the pleasure of staying at @sonyasgarden for a weekend after we got our negative Covid-19 and wrapped up our two-week isolation. It was such a lovely experience to get close to nature, fall asleep while listening to the sound of crickets, and get to know more about planting organic fruits and vegetables. . I ate (and enjoyed!) a lot of champorado ans salad during that weekend in Tagaytay. Meat-eater Carol can’t come to the phone right now. 😉 . Sonya’s Garden is a Bed and Breakfast located in Tagaytay — a two-hour drive from Manila. It’s on higher ground so its a bit cooler and a great place to run to when you’re tired of the city hustle. The bed & breakfast also houses a couple of restaurants and a picturesque dining space dubbed as the ‘Proposal Garden’. You get a free tour of the place when you stay overnight which you should really take advantage of. I learned so much about planting that day. . It’s a place to relax and truly unwind with no wifi in the cottages. Don’t expect TVs or radios too. We stayed in the Borage cottage that had a selection of books and had the dreamiest Filipino-inspired interiors. Will talk about the place more soon on AlmostDiplomatic.com but for now, do check out this quick highlights video that’s mostly @juanchothecorgi enjoying the place. We have so many places in the Philippines worth a visit and I can’t wait until we can travel further again. That vaccine needs to get here — stat! 😍 . Fun fact: Sonya’s garden is a pet-friendly place and Ms Sonya says Juancho is their first corgi visitor. 😍 . You’re right, Tita Lo @iamlorenlegarda — it’s such a lovely place. Practically magical in the evenings, too! 💕 . . . . . #AlmostDiplomatic #Tagaytay . . . . . . . . #travelfrommanila #phtravel #manilatravel #tagaytaystaycation #sonyasgarden #bedandbreakfast #diplolife #diplowife #diplomaticlife #diplomatswife #fashion #expat #expatlife #expatliving #livingabroad #globetrotter #womenwhohustle #wakeupinthephilippines #misskanangfun #werecoverasone #tagaytaygetaway (at Sonya's Garden) https://www.instagram.com/p/CInCtn7Aoa1/?igshid=pz88qapfv7gf

Manila - It's Not For Everyone
Manila – It’s Not For Everyone
Traffic, pollution, crowds and extreme heat

. With all this going on, it is no surprise that many travellers often choose to avoid spending any time in Manila, and often opt instead to take another flight to the south towards any of the aphrodisiac islands of the Philippines.
I, however, spent 2 days in Metro Manila going around, touring the sites, and getting to know a city that is not for

Although I travel a lot to Asia, it was my first time celebrating Lunar New Year this year. It is my family’s tradition to visit the local temple to offer thanks and take part in a number of rituals believed to bring good luck. My favourite part was the generous amount of Misua, courtesy of the temple. Misua is a very thin variety of salted noodles made from wheat flour that originated in Fujian, China. This version is traditionally made with vegetarian ingredients including mushrooms, taro, and tofu.
