I haven't done a #MandocasterMonday in a while! 😂 . Here is a unicorn of a #Fender #Mandocaster from 1964, in very rare candy apple red custom color (and though not pictured, it has its original case as well, @gavinhornsey!) from a private local collection. Pictured in front of Fenders tiniest of narrow panel tweed amp, a late 50s Champ. . #fendermandocaster #mandolin #electricmandolin #vintagemandolin #vintageguitar #vintagefender #fenderguitars #guitar #guitars #vintageamps #fenderamps #tweedamp #guitarphotography (at Toronto, Ontario) https://www.instagram.com/p/CWBM8Hur1oE/?utm_medium=tumblr

“Complicated” by @bengracemusic • Loved this little acoustic set, backing up a bestie on his brilliant songs. This was also my first time checking out the @sofardenver scene and it was just wonderful. Everyone was so warm, receptive. Nothing beats a cozy listening room for a #singersongwriter who wants to share their #music with #community. Thanks @aarteaga Becca (spellling?) and @steviewnicks for hosting us in your lovely home!! Ben Grace and I are doing a full house show this Sunday night! DM me for details if you’re interested!! We’ll also be LIVEcasting via #facebooklive so please search “LIVE Online with Heatherlyn” and join the group!! Thanks!! Huge gratitude to our patron community for supporting these #indie #productions! #song #livemusic #acoustic #mandocaster #ukulele #godin #musician #musiciansofinstagram #sofarsounds #musicislife #gratitude #play https://www.instagram.com/p/BtHB5ZkhW97/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=p05en6l3l0pr

#repost @amycrehore Amy Crehore (Virginia, USA). First image is detail of "Still Life With a Restless Cat", 20"' x 20". Second image is "Back Scratch Parlor". Third image is "Mandocaster Jive", oil on linen. Fourth image is "Roaring Tomcat Rag". I am a fan of Crehore's surrealistic feline representations. Thanks to @laluzdejesus for the tip.

Firemelon - Before Goodbye
Southern Californian based Firemelon creates their own distinct sticky Americana gumbo by fusing elements of twangy country guitars, gritty rock’n’roll and infectious pop melodies. The five-piece collective of accomplished musicians, consisting of Matthew Samia (Vocals, Guitar), Matt Bailey (Guitar, Mandocaster), Ron Larson (Bass), Jeff Cassens (Drums, Percussion) and Chris Harvey (Pedal Steel) have crafted a musical experience unlike any other with their unique arrangements. The band’s music stems from the desire to create something authentic and earthy. With simplistic instrumentation, straight-forward arrangements and honest lyrics, they have crafted a sound which has a consistent sonic flavor from start to finish. Their infectious energy remains present in everything they do, with their live performances being lauded by audiences across the West Coast. Influenced by the music of Lucinda Williams, Elvis Costello, Tom Petty, and The War on Drugs (to name a few), Firemelon have succeeded in bringing their own edge to a timeless genre of music. The synergy within the band is embellished through the use of layered sonic textures and flurries of dynamic soundscapes. Leading single ‘Before Goodbye’ is a passionate and heartfelt song about the departure of a relationship. Featuring a sweeping pedal steel guitar, resonating harmonica and a dominating bassline, the melancholy song emits a heartbreaking sense of yearning. Their captivating sound is brought to life with the Hammond organ, highlighting the band’s aim of using traditional roots instrumentation to create modern music with a vintage edge.
