Warhammer 40k universe but the entirety of canon media about it is pro-Imperium of Man propaganda, even the stuff that makes them look bad, and while there are threats like some nasty Tyrannids, plagues, Orks, weird "demonic" looking aliens, intergalactic storm clouds (Cicatrix Maledictum), etc; They're all vastly blown out of proportion. The Tyrannids are just a nuisance on the same level as wolves or tigers. The Orks are much closer to just buff humanoids than any sort of reality-warping militant threat. Like 70% of space marines are in reality Ultramarines who are highly brainwashed from an early age and don't have any extra organs or whatever they're just not borderline malnourished like most humans and given augmentations and big mechsuit armor that makes them much taller than guardsmen, almost like platform shoes. The other 30% of space marines are stationed on various spread-out worlds and led to believe they're part of a much bigger Chapter Legion than they actually are. Some chapters shown in WH40k media don't even exist, outside of people who know the truth and are actors. The Tau Empire is pretty much exactly the same, though.

Never going to get over the fact that in "The Royal Blacksmiths" Lou wasn't actually mad about the ninja part, he was explicitly upset about Cole's plan to steal the Blade Cup. Not once does he say anything against Cole being a ninja. Sure, maybe the whole theft thing overshadowed the ninja bit and Lou would have been just as mad, but like. His whole "I'm not gonna stand here and watch as you make a mockery of our family legacy!" line was after lines about how disappointed he was that Cole wanted to steal the Blade Cup. He said nothing about Cole being a ninja.

Which, given everything we've learned about Lily since, makes the family legacy line even more OUGH AUGH OUWOUGH

So it turns out there's a big craft guild organization thing only a few hours from where I live (I saw an ad for their craft fair), and I got like half my holiday shopping done on their website, and the box arrived today! The thing I was most excited to see in person is fragile, though, and it's really well wrapped in bubble wrap and I don't want it to break when I mail it to the friend it's for, so I am not unwrapping it, but oh man the temptation is there lol I also got myself a little metal bug made of a bottle cap and some wire. It lives on my little corkboard where I put postcards and thank you cards now
