Lately I've been slowly making my way through The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles! I play it in bed each night to settle in before I go to sleep. It's like a good book. The fickleness of the jurors always makes me laugh.

Another recent one I liked: Thank Goodness You're Here! It's basically a little interactive animated movie. Matt Berry is in it. I once saw it described as "Untitled Twat Game"

Deadly Premonition is the worst game I've ever played by conventional standards, but I'd still recommend it because it's bad in really fun ways. Bring some friends and a case of beer.

I like games that provoke a strong reaction. I'd rather play something like DP than a "good" big-budget game that's smooth and pleasing but not all that memorable.

Also on the topic of weird games: This is the secret best channel on YouTube. The more you watch, the better it gets. I mean idk, maybe other people don't see it and I'm just deranged. Still though. I've cried laughing at some of these.

I don't often try to go for a specific texture, but when I do it can be tricky. In real life I love soft jersey knit fabric. Despite my best efforts, I haven't been able to nail it in 2D in a way that really scratches that kinky itch.

In general, my drawings rarely come out the way I pictured them in my head. (I think that's how it is for most artists?) If it's looking really off then I might redraw a character or body part from scratch, but for the most part I just go with the flow.

For hottest: I gravitate toward a certain weirder type of piece where I draw myself (or "myself") with super-exaggerated proportions and/or humiliating captions:

It feels exciting to just go totally off the wall. I get turned on not just by drawing these, but also posting them. I guess it's kind of a public humiliation/exhibitionism thing. (Actually, that's exactly what it is.)

It says so much about Ben Shapword as a person that he was threatened enough by Bluey to greenlight Chip-Chilla.

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but nothing about Bluey is striving for being ''progressive'', at least not by rightwing standards. It's no Owl House or Steven Universe. Outside of the ep where Bluey makes a French friend and the Heelers celebrating Easter I can't ever recall the concept of religion, ethnicity or heritage being important in the series. Don't think I've ever seen a gay couple or pride flag in the background, neither. Obviously I don't think the show being made for little kids and/or about anthro dogs means you can't talk about concepts like that, it's just that Bluey doesn't even attempt that. In fact because it IS made for and about small children I would argue that's the reason there's no big talk about money problems in the show and all the characters seem well-off.

My point is, unless Steiner/Waldorf schools became a tool of the left when I wasn't looking (they're not; Waldorf schools teach pseudo science and are sometimes antivax. Hopefully not in Calypso's class but yeah now you know what to look for when you google 'waldorf school controversies'), Bluey is about as 'woke' as modern day Peanuts or Illumination. It's inherently nonthreatening and non-confrontational of bigger concepts outside of what's universal to kids and the kid characters. It'd be interesting if they had a LGBTQ character or a talk about (dog?)race and culture, but overall the show seems 'safe' from that stuff that makes conservatives cringe. So at first glance you think Chip-chilla is just a "want to cash in/draw people away from sinful mass media"-thing. Still disgusting but honestly par for the course. Christian programing meant to be a 'safe' alternative to nasty secular shows isn't new.

And then, it dawns on you:

Bluey gets confused for a boy by those who don't watch the show, kind of like how people misgender Bambi, Tweety or Peppermint Patty sometimes.

Chili and Bandit both work and have equal time to be the at-home parent with their kids.

Dailywire is offput by a girl character not being definitively feminine from first glance. Dailywire can't stand the idea of a man being a home husband. They not only see these standard lifestyles as threatening, but that this alone is trying to 'push' something on them when it's just, you know, trying to depict accurate home life of most kids.

What hope do trans people have even existing in the world when a cis girl without eyelashes is a threat to you? What kind of person looks at a dad (who isn't even a fulltime homehusband) having a nurturing relationship with his kids and thinks "DEGENERATE!"

I don't have to answer. You all know the kind of person.

On a happier note: I'm very curious how Bluey would go about addressing that real world representation I was talking about. I think that could be done well but, considering how the exercising episode was received by some adults, no doubt there'd be controversy. And I mean controversy inside the communities they're talking about, not pundits like Ben who'd have a heartattack over a progress flag being in the background that's never even addressed by anyone. I can see an adult character walking off with their same-sex partner or maybe a new classmate who's muslim and wears a hijab just being there and some people being concerned they're not handling it right/well enough. Which is probably why the writers just have steer cleared of it, I think.

If there's one gift Benny boy gives us all it's making us realize that that kind of discourse is always preferable the one where garbage people have no care for others.

1: Anime girls are not real people, they are drawings, they are costume ideas. Since there is no real minor to protect, it is that character's LIKENESS that anime-Karens are trying to restrict. To restrict her likeness in that way means we are forbidden from being attracted to anyone that even looks like her.

1.5: Calling everyone "pedophile" willy nilly only makes the word lose it's status. Pedos are supposed to be the most despised minority, even the scummiest criminals hate pedos. But when 9/10 of the population can be labeled pedos over stupid reasons like anime girls, pubic hair, 18-year-olds, young-looking adults, etc then that word will mean nothing.

2: Anime girls do not age like us. We get older but they don't. Most of these "underage" drawings would be well over 18 if you added the # of years since their show came out. So if a character is permanently underage that means nobody is ever allowed to have the hots for her? Nobody can even age her up?

2.5: If I find a drawing of a beautiful girl attractive, that is a compliment to the artist's skills, not a condemnation of my character. If someone like Komi or Shirahoshi is SUPPOSED to look super-attractive & we fall for her, that means the animators did a great job.

3: They resemble adults. In anime for every loli, there's a girl under 18 who looks like an adult (Komi, Momo, Evergarden, Eliz Liones). So if an artist draws a beautiful naked woman & a bunch of horny straight guys find it hot, they become pedophiles the moment the artist decides she's under 18? Isn't that a form of entrapment? If a drawing resembles an adult, she should be treated as such.

3.5: What real 16-year-old girl has natural pink hair & pink eyes? or green hair + green eyes? These are shows where Japanese people look like Nordic white people. Stop taking it so seriously.

4: If having the hots for underage heart-throbs like Reimi, Momo, Komi, or Nagatoro makes them a "Pedophile", then by the exact same logic, anyone with the hots for anthro girls like Lola from Space Jam, Gadget from C&D R.R, or Amy Rose from Sonic MUST be labeled as Zoophiles. "Buh Lola looks human enough so it's not beastality" Then these anime minors look adult enough so it's not pedophilia.

5: Anyone crying "pedo" over barely-underage drawings would have a heart attack if they went to an anime convention. Vendors there openly sell pillow covers & obscene mouse pads of young characters. By their logic, every vendor selling any sexual merch of non-adult characters is equal to a child trafficker.

5.5: Is it pedophilia for an adult woman to cosplay an underage character? Or for a man to be attracted to an adult woman while she's dressed like an underage character? Most popular cosplayers have done sexy cosplays of Asuka, Sailor Moon, Bunny Bulma, Jinx, & other fictional minors. How about the dub voice actresses? Many VAs have signed or sold sensual drawings of underage girls they've voiced. If a VA is cool with men calling her (16 yo) character a waifu is she a pedo accomplice?

6: The ones screaming "pedo" CANNOT DEBATE IN GOOD FAITH. Don't let these bullies fool you. Anyone screaming "pedo" over mature anime girls is 100% doing it for corrupt power-hungry reasons. There's no way I could ever post any drawings I do of a bird or bird-man though, I'm terrible at drawing literally every aspect of birds! Beaks, wings, talons, everything. I suck. I've tried to improve many times in the past, especially with wings, but I could never get it right.

So yeah, that's why they're human in my designs. I'm okay with that part of it. What I'm embarrassed about is my artstyle. It's completely unfitting for this fandom.

It's not detailed enough and it looks so childish (for the record, I'm 27 years old so I have no excuse). I myself like it, but I always get the feeling I'm the only one who does. I've experienced that a lot in the past. So I feel like I should apologise for not living up to the fandom's expectations.

My thoughts on the election

Considering this is such an important event and ties to personal things, I wanted to share my thoughts on the election like many others have. This isn't going to be some angry rant like in the past, I'm long over making those, just an analysis and my perspective: I'm hoping people understand this, especially on Furaffinity where anything that touches a worldly subject is a risk for me to post even in good faith, I was nervous about writing this but am partly doing it to give a chance to the idea that there's still some ability to communicate and say what's on our minds. I'm not enjoying the pain many around me are going through, some are people I care for who are in a lot of fear and there's not much I can do. I also need to make it clear that no, I don't like nor support Trump, even if I no longer share the horror everyone else has over him: I'm not even from the US, if I was I'd have never voted for either of those two parties and any candidates they produce, if I did vote I'd be voting libertarian every time even if they're perpetually third place. From the start I decided I wouldn't care about the outcome of this election. Since Trump's win was announced last night, I've been watching almost everyone I know fall in a deep depression… something I did too when he first won in 2016, long before a lot of things changed for me.

What I don't understand is how today in 2024 so much hope was put into this one election, a hope people still had. How many thought that if the right person wins, there was still a positive direction for this world to take. That a fight for all that is good was lost just now because this one man won, a fight that still existed and could be won if only this one dude hadn't made it in office. Many don't seem to realize humanity at its core is broken by design and beyond repair right now; Trump, Kamala… I fail to see how these silly figures make any difference when everyone hates everyone else anyway, any ability to communicate and get along has long vanished, and we can all see the system was doomed to fail very soon and very abruptly. If anything it may affect the speed at which it's all happening ever so slightly.

Let me to ask you something: Is Trump the reason why this year I was left without my only income and job I could have, because I refused to DOX myself to Patreon and have my art associated with my name / photo / address / family by complete strangers? Is Trump the reason why I don't feel like creating art any more because I can't safely post what I enjoy doing on this internet even for free? Is Trump the reason why I'm constantly nervous I may be banned from services I still rely on and at least able to watch what others create, over something I don't imagine would offend and may have even said a decade ago and long forgotten? Is Trump the reason why the Xonotic team with whom I spent 15 years working turned on me out of nowhere while we were in the middle of working on code? Is Trump the reason why an artist I follow had to flee France after being arrested for making drawings deemed immoral by the state? Is Trump the reason why if anyone who isn't a commercial animation studio posts an animation containing anthro or dragon characters in some art styles on Youtube, the video is instantly restricted or deleted with their entire channel? Is Trump the reason why I walk on eggshells around the few people I still interact with, because if I say one thing the wrong way I'll be perceived as some maniac and they turn on me next? Is Trump responsible for the world doing its best to ruin my life or the little I ever had of one?

All those things and more happened even without him. Off the top of my head I can't even think of a conservative or Trump supporter that caused me this grief over the years, though I'm sure many would gladly join in given the chance. It was at the hands of those with whom I once thought I had a common goal, who stabbed me (and themselves) in the back just when I believed that maybe I could have a place in this world to some degree and give humanity a chance, who use words like tolerance and acceptance and inclusion almost religiously yet their polar opposites are all I ever got from them. Why then should I worry about Trump and am expected to see him as the root of all evil?! Sure, I don't expect the situation to improve with him of all people, I don't expect anything to improve again with anyone… but it's beyond me how this made anything worse than it would be regardless.

Like I said I'm not happy with what's happening and won't feed off of anyone's suffering, but I definitely feel I'm right to say one thing: The desperation everyone feels over Trump winning is a thing many caused to others whether they realize it or not. They're experiencing what it's like to have the majority of those around you and a world you believed in slap you in the face, tell you that what you need and feel doesn't matter to them, that you need to suck it up and deal with it because others have "real issues" unlike you, that you come second place to what they decided is important. This lesson is one I do think the world at large needed to face. Which isn't to say it will learn from it, oh I strongly doubt that… but many are at least seeing what it's like to be on the receiving end, and it's definitely not pretty.

8/23/24: r/SketchDaily theme, "Free Draw Friday." This week's characters from my anthro WWII storyline are: Unnamed City Clerk; Herr Heinrich (no last name ever given); Frau Bartz (no first name ever given); and Private Etienne Laurent. So many this week as the first two are completely new characters who popped up as I was writing the Tumblr entry for Frieda Orchudesch and her father (last week), yet I wanted to still check a couple off my list. The clerk and Heinrich, the Orchudesches' manservant, help Josef Diamant start his career as document forger. Frau Bartz is in charge of a maternity home and is always trying to coax Lt. Hesse into settling down with one of the women. And Laurent is an older undeveloped character from my character list, a French partisan whose background I need to develop some. The clerk and Heinrich are already described in Frieda's Tumblr entry. There'll be more about them all later in my art Tumblr and Toyhou.se.

Regarding their designs: The clerk is a leucistic doberman; Heinrich is a fawn boxer; and Frau Bartz is a blue doberman (I'm iffy on her hair, she's supposed to look more severe). I wanted to try something different with Laurent's colors.

Etienne Laurent is included on my older character list dating to the circa-2002 reboot, yet was never developed as a character. Here's his original description, which until just as I decided to draw him still held as canon:

ETIENNE LAURENT: "Pvt." (title, not rank); French partisan serving under Champere. Very young and inexperienced, naive and easily frightened, yet willing to fight. Appears in sequel

Seeing as he has virtually nothing for me to work with, I decided to tweak him. I may drop the "private" part later in favor of a higher "rank." This hinted that he was never military and assumed the title "private" only after joining Champere's partisans, though I believe now that he's going to be older, and was perhaps a soldier, though I'm unsure. (I toyed with him having fought in WWI, but I don't think he's quite that old. BUT!--that's not decided yet.) At some point he serves in the French Resistance and is captured by the Germans and imprisoned in a labor camp near the border. He takes advantage of a chaotic situation one day, combined with lax camp security, to escape and go running, though he's shot in the leg by a pursuing SS guard. He tries to keep going yet the guard soon catches up; just as he's about to be executed, however, a bullet strikes the guard in the forehead and he topples over, dead. Laurent, bewildered, glances back; the sunlight is glaring in his eyes but he sees a heavily scarred, forbidding-looking man in a kepi, with a pistol. The man in the kepi grasps him by the arm and pulls him up--"Come on," he says in French, the most perplexing detail of all--and bustles him off into the woods. Laurent ends up with the small group of Sgt. Maj. Champere's partisan forces, where his wound is tended to and he's given soup--he's been starved for so long he needs to sip slowly to avoid throwing up--and everyone speaks in French, and he's certain he must be dreaming or else dead. This all just seems too good to be true.

He's very much alive, however; and when he asks what can he do to repay such kindness, Champere says he can swear loyalty to him, and fight with his partisans. Now, finally, Laurent takes pause. Turns out he's a pacifist and always has been--even during his own service (whether just in the Resistance or also in the military), he never killed anyone, focusing instead on transporting and tending to the wounded, obtaining intel, delivering messages and supplies, etc. He's still willing to do this, anything to be helpful, but he's not sure that he can fight. Champere replies that, well, if he wants to remain with them, he better get used to the idea, because Champere doesn't waste time and resources on pansies.

Champere's words, not mine. Laurent is struck dumb, unsure what to think. Another of his men, Papillon, comes to talk with Laurent and clarify a few things. Champere doesn't give a flying fig what, or who, he does in his spare time. He just literally can't expend the group's limited resources on someone who's unwilling to handle a gun or otherwise defend. Everyone has to pull their own weight, and just carrying supplies or gathering intel isn't enough; if the time comes when they're under attack, everyone will need to be on board, weapon in hand. "Monsieur Champere has nothing against pansies," Papillon explains, "just pansies who won't fire a gun."

Needless to say, Laurent has to decide upon his priorities pretty fast. He starts carrying a gun, and he even uses it. His reluctance to actually KILL anyone with it is a frequent bone of contention between him and Champere, though. He's similar to Lance Corporal Blue Rat in this respect, and to a lesser degree Wehrmacht sniper Lt. Ratdog, who is perfectly willing to kill people, yet has a strict moral code that prevents him from taking certain actions, such as targeting someone who is too incapacitated to defend themselves, or shooting someone in the back. Papillon, ever the mediator, often has to stick up for him and convince Champere why he's worth keeping around; he really IS an excellent shot, he just never wants to take a kill shot. He can easily incapacitate the enemy, but Champere would rather they were dead, so as time goes on his patience and tolerance for Laurent wear thinner.

I imagine Laurent ends up having to deal with quite a lot of disagreement and drama with Champere, especially considering how highly he regards Champere and feels he owes him for saving his life, and handling Champere's increasingly bizarre religious delusions; he likely covers for Champere's precarious mental state more than once. Meanwhile, Champere is so certain that he's sane that he's never grateful for Laurent's help, he just wants him to start shooting to kill.

So, it seems there could be plenty of dramatic potential here to develop, though it's all still iffy for now.

Since 2015 I've been a huge fan of the work of two of the greatest furry artists the fandom has ever seen: thanshuhai and Silverfox5213. Their work has inspired me ever since and I am so grateful that they influenced me to draw and create anthro characters.

I'm not a furry and I don't consider myself one and I've never had any interest in joining the fandom, but since I was a child I have liked characters that are anthropomorphic animals and it is no wonder that I have already created some characters of this type, including my 3 fursonas.

In November 2022, I decided to make a fanart in honor of them, where I drew the old version of Thanshuhai's fursona (which by the way is my favorite version until today) taking a selfie with the old version of Silverfox's fursona and my second fursona, Austro. I made this drawing because both of their characters were the inspiration in the creation of my sona.

After I made this fanart, I needed someone who could paint my drawing, because unfortunately my painting is very simple and I wanted my drawing to have a really badass painting. That's when I asked my brother's friend, Camila Vytória, to paint my drawing in watercolor and she agreed. It's not the first time we've done a collab together, as she's already painted other drawings of mine and her work is sensational.

Camila's drawings are amazing, especially the painting, which is very well done, not to mention that she makes realistic drawings. I loved the end result of painting my drawing and I am so grateful for it. Seriously, I really liked the eye painting, the details, the shading, man, it's just fantastic! I highly recommend Camila's work if anyone wants an art done and painted by her. Thank you so much Camila ❤️

Desde 2015 eu sou muito fã do trabalho de dois maiores artistas furry que o fandom já viu: thanshuhai e Silverfox5213. O trabalho deles me inspira desde então e sou muito grato por terem me influenciado a desenhar e criar personagens antropomórficos.

Eu não sou um furry e nem me considero um e nunca tive interesse em entrar no fandom, mas desde criança eu gosto de personagens que são animais antropomórficos e não é atoa que já criei alguns personagens desse tipo, incluindo meus 3 fursonas.

Em Novembro de 2022, resolvi fazer uma fanart em homenagem à eles, onde eu desenhei a versão antiga do fursona de Thanshuhai (que por sinal é a minha versão favorita até hoje) tirando uma selfie com a versão antiga do fursona de Silverfox e com o meu segundo fursona, Austro. Fiz esse desenho pois ambos os personagens deles foram a inspiração na criação do meu sona.

Depois que fiz essa fanart, eu precisava de alguém que pudesse pintar o meu desenho, pois infelizmente a minha pintura é muito simples e queria que o meu desenho tivesse uma pintura muito foda. Foi daí que pedi pra amiga do meu irmão, Camila Vytória, pintar o meu desenho em aquarela e ela topou. Não é a primeira vez que nós fizemos uma collab juntos, pois ela já pintou outros desenhos meus e o trabalho dela é sensacional.

Os desenhos da Camila são incríveis, principalmente a pintura, que é muito bem feita, sem contar que ela faz desenhos realistas. Eu amei o resultado final da pintura do meu desenho e sou muito grato por isso. Sério, eu gostei bastante da pintura dos olhos, dos detalhes, do sombreamento, mano, simplesmente está fantástico!
