Pregnancy swings are doubled…
18+ Minors DNI!!!
Full Masterlist Legend Masterlist
Pairing: Reggie Kray x Fem!Pregnant Reader
Summary: mood swings…
Warnings: Pregnancy, twins, swearing, arguing, shouting!!!(please tell me if I missed any!!!)
Reggie loves you, he fully head over heels for you.
And he knows it. Heck..everyone does.
If you asked him for anything he’d give it to you without hesitation.
Like for example.
“Reggie M’hungry” you said into his chest and he grinned.
“You just had two glasses of apple juice and three ice creams” he chuckled but you did not.
You took a lot of offence to that.
You began crying. “Well I’m sorry! I’m sorry I’m fat and look like a whale! I can’t even reach my toes or put my socks and shoes on!”
You cried as you pushed him off of you.
“Y/n! I didn’t mean it like that!” He said and you just glared at him through teary eyes.
“And you don’t look like a whale! And you’re not fat! Your beautiful and..your carrying two precious little boys in your stomach, so you have to eat for three..” he said holding your bump softly as he kissed you through his sentence.
“Mhm I know..I just feel so big..and annoying” you huffed but Reggie was just so confused.
I mean he thought you was beautiful before, but carrying his children.
You look angelic.
Even when you just wake up or in your sleep, you look magnificent.
How couldn’t you see it?
“Doll..you are absolutely fucking beautiful. And if you can’t see that then you’re crazy” he said looking into your eyes.
“Thank you Reggie” you smirked into his chest again hiding your face.
“Now..what was it your craving? Or should I say what are the twinnies craving?” He grinned and you smirked placing your finger on your chin thinking about the list you wanted.
Pizza? Ice cream? Pickles? All of them?
———
Or when Reggie and Ron poked the ‘mama bear’
You was already in a bad mood, you had none of your favourites sweets left and you got no sleep last night because the twins were kicking you and you big bump was in the way.
“Hello” Ron said as you walked into the carpenters arms after Reggie asked you to meet him there.
“Hey Ronnie” you smiled through your tiredness.
“You tired? You look it” Ron joked but you was not in the mood.
“Yeah I am. Thanks for the compliment” you snapped back
“Calm down doll, he was just joking” Reggie said softly as he gave you a kiss in your temple.
“M’ not in the mood” you huffed as you rested your head on Reggie’s shoulder, closing you eyes as you sighed.
“Yeah. have a sleep while we all work” Ron joked again and reg gave him a little warning glare but Ron grinned.
You huffed annoyed as you tried to ignore him.
“Ooh don’t poke the bear Ron” Leslie chuckled from the bar and you snapped.
“Shut the fuck up!” You shouted to Leslie and Ron and Reggie just sat back and let you get your anger out.
“I’m eating for three! Sleeping for three! I’m growing humans and not one but two! And your doing what?! Fuck all! So shut the fuck up.” You yelled and sighed in relief as you sat back and snuggled into Reggie’s side.
Ron was always impressed by how you wouldn’t take no shit. But Leslie was somewhat shitting himself.
“Well go home in a minute if you want?” Reggie whispered into your hair and you shook your head.
You didn’t want to make Reggie leave because you was tired and moody.
But Reggie didn’t care he wanted to leave ages ago anyway. And he wanted to make sure you had a nap, for yourself and the babies.
After about ten minutes Reggie stood up and cut Leslie off.
“Where are you going?!” Leslie threw his hand out confused and annoyed.
“Look, sought your plan out and come back to me tomorrow alright?” Reggie spoke up and Leslie nodded lightly.
“Good. C’mon doll” Reggie said softly as he helped you up and held a hand on the small of your back as he walked back home with you. You both joking to each other to kill the boredom.
Giving reg a little bit on the chest when he said something a little to dark but you still laughed.
So once you got home he put the telly on and got you as comfortable as he could, having you on your side watching the tv and you held you belly with one arm, underneath and Reggie massaged your bump from behind you.
Occasionally giving you a kiss on the head.

Partners
Reagan Gilmore and Ben Murray are desperate to take their music and comedy act—aptly called Gilmore and Murray—to the big leagues. In New York City, the year 1950 to be more specific, when and where you can’t swing a baseball bat without hitting someone demanding a duo act with talent, that doesn’t seem to be too hard. The tricky part, however, is rising to the top of the heap when you’re indebted to a particularly notorious crime syndicate.
Protagonists
Reagan Gilmore • 29 • August 15th, 1921 • Ireland
Reagan moved to a small town in New Jersey with his parents at age 9 and met Ben the same day. Some would say it was love at first sight, as the two have been inseparable ever since. At age 13, Reagan’s parents moved back to Ireland and he stayed behind since he couldn’t bear the thought of being so far away from Ben. He’s got incredibly good looks in spades and the charisma to back it up, which he’s learned to use to his and Ben’s advantage. He can have as big a heart as he wants but he’s deeply flawed and he’s tried to quell it for decades.
Ben Murray • 25 • February 27th, 1925 • New Jersey
A mama’s boy through and through, Ben has abandonment issues and a heavily codependent relationship with Reagan. Until age 5 it was just him and his mom, Shoshana, against the world, and meeting a little Irish boy new to town chucked a very welcome wrench in that cozy dynamic for the rest of their lives. Something dark brews beneath the complex surface of one Benjy Mertz. He fears being alone, even in his own apartment, and going as much as a week without seeing his best friend is practically equivalent to being imprisoned.
• • •
"Well," Ben said suddenly. "...What if we could work and celebrate Charlotte's birthday at the same time?" Reagan paused in the midst of kneeling to hand Carolyn another wooden car. "What?" Ben swiveled to face him, hands on his hips. "What if we didn't have to miss her birthday after all? We could...have a celebration at the Heron." Reagan and Carolyn exchanged a glance, the concern doubling in her face. "Have a child's birthday party at the Heron?" Reagan pushed himself to his feet. "Have you cracked? Geevo wouldn't allow a child to look at the Heron, and you think he's gonna let one waltz into the house just 'cause we work there?" "All we gotta do is ask, Reggie." Reagan lifted his eyebrows. "Be my guest." A quick jab of fear split through Ben's chest. "Wh—why's it gotta be me?!" "It was your idea. You're the one stupid enough to think you can ask something insulting of the man almost certainly involved in the mob that just so happens to hand us our paychecks after every performance of lascivious smiles and flop sweat." "It's a good idea," Carolyn interjected. "If you could pull it off, it would be better than missing out for six years in a row." Without breaking eye contact with Ben, Reagan released a slow breath, the weight of Carolyn's words once again sinking into his shoulders with the strength of a weighted blanket. He eventually lowered his gaze to the toys in her hands.
• • •
"He pays us," Reagan reminded him through gritted teeth once the door clicked closed behind them. "He lets me live in a house with my family, and lets you live, full stop." "With money that he likely inherited when someone went the way of the executed," Ben hissed, shrugging Reagan off of him. They hurried through the hall to get as far away from the office as possible. "We don't owe him shit! If anything, we're the reason that shit-head rakes in as much as he does every goddamn week!" Reagan shoved him into the wall. "If he hears you mouthin' off like that, I will let him wring your pencil neck, do you hear me? He's got all the right ties to all the wrong people." "Or is that the wrong ties to the right people?" Ben said, rubbing his shoulder as they turned a corner. "With Geevo Jones it doesn't matter. You'd be dead either way and I wouldn't know what to do with myself." "It'd tear you up that much, huh?" Reagan came to a stop and turned to him, picking up on the neediness behind the faux-casual question. "You've been my best friend for twenty years. You think I would've stuck with you that long if I didn't care about someone blowing your brains out?" Ben paused, nose scrunching. "...Didja have to get offensive?" "Yeah." Reagan smiled.

That’s a Yes
Phanfic Masterlist
Summary: Alex just wants to know if Willie is ok but he finds out something about his past and learns that he can be seen by lifers.
The boys groaned as another jolt racked their bodies and Julie kept yelling at them to go and join Caleb. Luke had gotten up to try and hug Julie goodbye, they were both so emerged in the hug that they didn’t even know that that wasn’t supposed to be possible. Julie let go and looked up at Luke who was starting to glow, the other boys made their way into the hug starting to glow too and their club stamps floated off their skin.
They stood there just leaning into each other before backing up and trying to think of a way to stop Caleb if he ever came after any of them again. It was scary to think about some guy who wanted to use them coming after the boys again or even coming after Julie to get to the band but they were going to get through it together.
Alex got up about ten minutes into the talk and poofed out of the room and into a busy street in LA looking around for a certain brown haired skater. It had been an hour and Alex just wanted to give up and go home. Would Willie really still work with Caleb after he tried to kill them and get them to join his band? Alex buried his head in his hands feeling tears roll down his cheeks and someone stopped to look at him, wait someone stopped to look at him. It was a woman and she came to sit down next to him patting his back as he sobbed harder.
“What’s wrong?” the woman asked and a man had come running in the direction that she had been walking in to catch up with her.
“Honey why did you… oh,” the man said kneeling down in front of Alex.
“He just looks so much like our little boy did,” she said and Alex wiped his eyes trying to stop his tears. He looked at the two adults who had stopped to comfort him and saw his parents, his mother was wearing a rainbow scarf and his father was wearing a yellow, blue, and pink pin.
“Oh, you’re curious about these huh?” the man asked, moving to sit on his other side and Alex nodded. “Our son Alex died years ago and we never supported him when he came out as gay but we were sure to help with our daughter when she came out as pan,” he said and Alex felt tears start to fall again. His parents supported him even when he thought they never would.
“What would you say to your son if he was here?” Alex asked, biting his lip.
“Well, I’d tell him that I’m proud of him and that I don’t care who he likes, he should be happy.” Alex smiled at his parents getting up and they stumbled up too.
“Thank you,” Alex said, hugging both of them and they hugged back, which was something that they never did when he was alive. “You have no idea how much this means to me,” Alex said and his parents pat his back one more time before waving walking away. Ales stood there taking a deep breath before walking in the opposite direction being wary cause people could see him and touch him. Alex walked down to the beach and sat down on a swing set in the playground area pumping his legs back and forth.
“Is this seat taken?” a voice asked and Alex fell off the swing out of shock.
“Willie?” Alex asked, getting up quickly and dusting himself off. Willie laughed and helped him up.
“I thought you were supposed to cross over,” Willie said suddenly panicking and feeling him all over trying to make sure he was ok. Alex put his hands on Willie’s shoulders trying to calm him down.
“I’m fine, Caleb’s stamp thing went away for some reason when the band and I hugged each other. It was a weird experience and I would not do it again but the stamp is gone I’m safe,” Alex said trying to get Willie to believe him.
“Oh my God, you’re actually here!” Willie yelled picking Alex up squeezing him tight before placing him back down touching his face, shoulders, then hips pulling him into a hug which Alex accepted happily.
“Yeah, I’m here,” Alex said and Willie pulled back still smiling wildly.
“I’m so happy I could kiss you,” Willie said before slapping his hand over his mouth and Alex let out a small chuckle at Willie’s blurt. “Only if you want to,” Willie offered and Alex just laughed throwing his arms over Willie’s shoulders pressing their lips together and Willie snaked his arms around Alex’s wasit once he was sure that this was actually happening. Alex pulled back after a few seconds smiling his bright smile.
“I want to, I really want to,” Alex said and Willie just pulled him back in as the two laughed into the kiss just happy that they had each other.
Extra:
Julie checked her watch pacing around the studio and Reggie crossed his arms looking out the window. Luke was tapping his foot in the corner. Alex had been gone for hours, he could have been taken by Caleb. The blonde ghost poofed into the room smiling and jumping up and down before looking and realizing that everyone was still awake and looking a little pissed.
“Where were you?” Julie asked eyes flaming with anger but a touch of worry.
“I was with Willie, I ran into my parents too, they could see me,” Alex said trying to change the topic.
“Did they know it was you?” Reggie asked remembering the last time Alex was with his parents and they had kicked him out and Reggie punched Alex’s father before inviting Alex to stay with him.
“No but they’re super cool now like they support the LGBTQ+ community and stuff,” Alex said smiling at Reggie who calmed down.
“That’s awesome man but back to Willie,” Luke said. “Why were you with him for so long?” Luke asked and Alex blushed crossing his arms.
“None of your business,” Alex said going to walk up to the loft.
“Oh my God they totally did it!” Reggie cried out pointing to Alex.
“Good for you man!” Luke yelled and Julie stomped up to the loft yelling at Alex.
“You better not have “done it” young man or you’re going to be in so much trouble!”

The Hacker Sister part 2
AN: Here is part 2 it’s a little longer this time but it has some key details which are important for the next few parts
PART 2.
Once we land, I quickly gather my bags and head to the exit. I call my dad and tell him that I’ve arrived and that I'm waiting for him. Shortly after, I see my dad pull up and I see him excitedly waving and honking the car like a crazy person. I laugh to myself. That’s the one thing I really do respect and admire about my dad. He is not afraid to make a fool out of himself and show his true colors, he doesn’t care about what people think about him. I on the other hand couldn’t be more opposite. I’ve always been self cautious and kept to myself. I never really had any friends in high school and never really liked to go out due to my social anxiety. That’s why me and Vin are so close, since I didn’t really have any friends, I only really hung out with him and spent most of my time at home. Once I see dad pull up in front of me, he gets out of the car to help put my bag in the trunk. He walks over to me and gives me a giant bear hug.
“There's my favorite girl” he says as he gives me a kiss on the head
“Hi dad, i’ve missed you” I mumble into his chest.
“I’ve missed you too, we all have. Vin and Reg are going to lose there shit when they see you” he laughs
We back away and get into the car to head back to the hotel. As we are driving my dad plays some music softly as I look out the window. Dad then decided to break the silence.
“So, how have you been sweetie? What’s it like living on your own in NYC?” he asks
“It’s been fine, as good as it can be I guess. I honestly don’t really know what I wanna do with my life at the moment just going with the flow. I’ve been mentally drained these past couple of weeks so that's part of the reason I wanted to come see you guys. But on a positive note I haven't had an anxiety attack in a while.” I say, trying to lighten the mood a little
My dad sighs, my family knows that I struggle with anxiety and that I went through a hard time in high school. I honestly give both my mom and dad credit. They really tried to help me, I had a therapist who I saw regularly but that only helped for a while. When I would have my anxiety attacks Vinnie would be the only person who would be able to calm me down.
As we finally arrive at the hotel, I start to get nervous. I see a lot of people everywhere and I can already tell that this is gonna be a lot for me to handle. I stay in the car until dad is parked and gets out to grab my bag. He comes around to open my door. He holds out his hand for me to take and I instantly grab it. As we make our way into the lobby, my anxiety starts to kick in. A few people call out my dad’s name and he just nods to them. We quickly make it to the elevator and as the door closes I let out a deep breath I didn’t know I was holding in. Once we get to our floor we walk towards my parents room. My mom opens the door and has the biggest smile on her face.
“Hi baby, I missed you so much” She says, engulfing me in a hug.
“Hi mama, I missed you too” I say
“Alright we need to go surprise the boys now, I can't wait to see their reaction” she says
“Where are they?” I ask
“There in another room, since we didn't think you would be coming, the boys are sharing a room but we can figure out where you will be sleeping later.”
As we walk out and down the hallway to the next room over, I hide behind my dad as my mom knocks on their door. Reggie opens the door and I step out from behind my dad.
“Surprise” I yell
“No fucking way! Y/N what are you doing here?” Reggie says shocked
“I wanted to surprise you dumbass.” I laugh
I go to give Reggie a hug, as I look behind him I see Vinnie standing there with his mouth open looking like he’s about to cry. As I let go of Reggie I make my way to Vinnie and instantly give him a hug. I wrap my arms around his neck and he wraps his around my waist. I have to stand on my tip toes because he’s so tall. His face instantly goes to my neck and I feel tears on my shoulder.
“Aww Vin please don’t cry” I say
“I just missed you so much, I haven’t seen you in forever. Why haven't you talked to me in the last couple of weeks? We call each other everyday and then you just didn’t pick up the phone, I was starting to get worried. Then when mom said you weren't coming to the match of course I started to freak out.” He says
“I missed you too, so much. I was just going through a lot mentally and didn’t really wanna talk to anyone and I didn’t wanna make you worried or upset. But i’m here now.” I say
As we pull away I wipe away his tears from his face, he smiles and kisses my forehead.
“Aww all my babies finally reunited, I’m so happy were all together again” mom says
“Y/N were heading to lunch and then going straight to the weigh in right after, do you have everything you need” dad says
“Umm yeah I think,” I hesitantly say
“Great, well then let's go guys.”
We all make our way out of the hotel room to the elevator, mom and dad are in the front, while me, Vinnie, and Reggie are behind. Once we make it on the elevator dad looks at me.
“Y/N i’m just warning you, there’s gonna be a lot of people once we get out of this elevator. Most of them are here for Vin, so i’m gonna have him go first and then you and mom can walk after” dad says seriously
I just nod my head and keep my head down. I grab on to mom’s hand and as the elevator opens and we step out, an instant crowd starts forming. All I see are a bunch of girls all yelling trying to get Vinnie’s attention, with their phones out taking pictures, Vin tries to stop and take pictures with everyone. While that is happening mom walks me outside and into the car while we wait for Vin, Reg and dad. Finally they get in the car and Vin sits next to me.
“I don’t know how you can do that, there’s so many people.” I say to him
“I know it’s a lot but I feel like I need to say hi to them and take pictures with them because they are the reason I get to do this” he says
I nod my head and start fidgeting with my hands, a thing I do when I'm nervous. I’m just not used to that many people. Vinnie notices my hands and quickly grabs them and starts rubbing his thumb on the back of my hand to help calm me down. I sigh and lean my head against the window as we start driving to lunch.

No! Wait, twin sister— Essie has a twin sis headcanon??
Okay since I already did the twin brother (can be found here), let's just say that Reggie had TRIPLETS! Two daughters and a son!
Her name will be Evangeline "Evie" Black! Her faceclaim is young!Michelle Trachtenberg. She’ll also be the eldest of the triplets!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Evie, Ellie, and Essie, the triple E’s 😂 (there’s way too many characters in my series who have names that start with E’s, but oh well)
Evie, at the start, will be a bit more like Bianca in her earlier years. As the eldest triplet with two younger sibs, she’ll take the caretaker role. After years of abuse from various foster families, she’ll be protective over her sibs and she’ll often stress herself out trying to care for them and keep them all together even though she herself is still a kid.
But then Essie gets attacked by their monster foster dad, they all run away, meet the Stolls, and then reach camp. After that, her ‘stern caretaker’ role starts to ebb away once she finally gets a taste of freedom. Now she can finally start acting her age and she happily embraces it. She’s carefree, happier, and she has a bunch of older half-sibs so she can finally be the baby sib for once.
Once they get to Hogwarts, she’ll be sorted into Gryffindor. The Black family’s rolling in their graves because one’s in Gryffindor and the other’s in Hufflepuff??? Elliot’s their only hope now 💀 Peronality-wise, she’s like Essie but not as dumb! So she’s friendly, outgoing, but more sassier and reckless. Elliot’s just shaking his head in the background because where did their smart and stern sister go??? “Ugh, now she’s just a Gryffindork 🙄”
(Also, she won’t be friends with the trio cuz that’s so overused, but she’ll be besties with Lavender Brown and then Parvati Patil!)
As for her powers... she’ll be weaker than Essie and Ellie, unfortunately. Ever since they reached camp and she had no longer had to bear the weight of being the responsible Eldest Sibling, she loved the idea of acting like a carefree child. She trains hard in camp only because she HAS to. If she ever had the chance, she’d just laze around and do whatever she wants. In Hogwarts, she rarely ever studies like Elliot or practices offensive spells like Essie. In school, she’d rather enjoy the social scene and hang out with her friends than to stress over extra training.
Elliot scolds her for it while Essie’s just happy for her big sis 😃 Elliot also points out that the only reason she acts this way was because of how traumatized she was from having to shoulder the burden of taking care of him and Essie, so that when she finally got an ounce of freedom, she took it and changed herself completely, willingly running away from her problems so she wouldn’t have to go through it again 💖 Ofc, Evie denies this but Ellie’s 10000% correct
Despite this, Evie’s more mentally healthier than both of her sibs combined cuz at least her way of coping is to run away and distract herself with fun times rather than... Elliot who uses and abuses people who get in the way and acts as a control freak and Essie who’s so delusional that her vision’s practically red at this point.
Now onto relationships!
Trio: They like each other well enough! Evie’s not super close with them, but in the later years, she grows to dislike Hermione a bit because of how she treats Lavender and Parvati (and her by extension)
Sirius: Sirius likes her a lot! She’s the sanest of the triplets and yeah she’s sassy and sometimes snaps at people, but Sirius is just glad that she never gets violent enough to actually KILL someone 😭 (she’s killed ppl in battle ofc, but her kill count is DRASTICALLY smaller compared to Ellie’s and Essie’s 💀) and she never hurts ppl as a solution to problems
Ethan: She’s the disapproving big sister. This is one of the few times her previous self comes back, the stern and strict self that used to watch over her sibs like a mama bear. Evie DETESTS Ethan for the same reasons as Elliot, but she also hates him because he’s toxic af and doesn’t want someone like that for Essie. She doesn’t care if Ethan cares for Essie a lot, he’s a manipulative piece of shit who refuses to change himself
Lou Ellen: They love each other! Lou loves all the triplets equally, but she lowkey favors Evie more because she’s not as crazy as the other two 💀
Alabaster: strained. She was very upset when Ally and the others left and for a time, reverted back to her old, bossy and stern self to take care of Ellie and Essie. Alabaster tried to kill her too during the Battle of Manhattan, but she was very relieved when he wasn’t executed at the end because she still does love her brother very much. Out of three sibs, she’s more willing to accept him back.
Étienne: oh god 💀💀 Okay, so Étienne is very big on family roles so he very much expected for Evie to act as a proper “big sister” as in being super caring, super affectionate, and spoiling him nonstop. So basically he expected her to act as an Essie 2.0. She didn’t, because once she found out how unhinged he was, she avoided him and even urged Ellie and Essie too (he was very upset about the last part). Dislikes her, but doesn’t touch her out of respect for Essie and Ellie.
Nico: OOOOOOOHHHH HER ADORABLE PRECIOUS NEPHEW 😍 She’s basically Nico’s most healthiest relative tbh 😂 She LOVES her nephew and spoils him constantly, but teases him a lot too. She sometimes acts more like a big sis to him than an aunt, but he loves his aunt nonetheless 🥹
Regulus: Regulus loves his little girl just as much as he loves his other children!!! And she loves her dad too... until she started growing suspicious of him. Despite the fact that he’s no longer a Death Eater and a blood supremacist, she can see that her dad’s still very much an awful person. Similarly to Ellie, she’s quick to notice his elitism, misogyny, manipulative tactics, possessiveness, overprotectiveness, and controlling nature. But unlike Ellie, she’s genuinely upset about this because she knows that what he’s doing is wrong. She calls her dad out on this, but he genuinely doesn’t see an issue with what he’s doing. So yeah, her relationship with him becomes more strained 😔
Elliot & Essie: she loves her siblings so much, but she’s so concerned over them. It took her a while to realize how much their mental health had plummeted over the years and she feels like it’s her fault because she spent all her time running away from her problems and distracting herself with friends and parties while her sibs were becoming worse and worse. While she was out being reckless, Elliot’s now acting as the older sibling, bossing Essie and Evie around and even manipulating them when he needs to. Even worse, he’s going around hurting people. Meanwhile, Essie’s happily throwing herself at the worst sort of people out of pure desperation to be loved, not even caring that their love was toxic and abnormal. Evie finally sees all this, but now it’s too late for her to try and step up and act as the Big Sister again, not when both of her siblings are too far gone to help. Not when they’re too powerful for her to stop.
Damn, this sibling headcanons are so fun 😂

it takes a village
hey hey little muppets!! happy wednesday!! this is a request fill for gracerailly on ao3 who requested the poly-stics babysitting cadnis' kids.
cw/tw for depression/depressive episodes
otherwise, enjoy!!
---
Cady wakes up to chattering coming through the baby monitor.
Which is unusual, because Janis usually wakes her up with their twins. But today, Janis is still in bed next to her and gives a quiet groan when she hears the noise.
“Jay?” Cady asks groggily. “What’s the matter?”
Janis groans again and flops onto her back, bringing her hands up to sign. That’s never good, Janis only uses sign language when things are especially bad for her.
“Can’t move,” she signs. “Feel… heavy. Slow. Dead.”
“Oh, my love,” Cady hums sadly, leaning down to kiss her forehead. “Do you think you’re having a depressive episode?”
Janis nods slowly. Cady can tell she’s using a great deal of energy to bring her hands up again. “The girls.”
“I’ll get them up for today, don’t worry about it,” Cady says immediately. “You relax. Everything’s okay.”
Janis pouts but nods again, letting her hands drop back to her side. Cady pecks her nose gently before she goes to get their daughters up.
They’re both awake, standing up in their cribs and waiting for someone to come get them ready. Both of them look her way when Cady switches the light on, with their adorable frizzy curls and sleepy blue eyes.
“Good morning, my little loves!” She says happily, going to give them their morning kisses. “Did you have good dreams?” Both twins nod happily. “Good, that makes Mama so happy.”
“Where Mommy?” Layla asks, rubbing her eyes and holding onto her stuffed elephant. Cady pauses for a second. How does she explain this in terms they can understand?
For now, a white lie won’t hurt anything. “Mommy’s still asleep, Mama gets to get you ready today.”
Leo reaches out first, so Cady grabs her and carries her over to be changed before swapping her out with Layla to do the same.
“There we go, all clean! Let’s go have breakfast,” Cady says happily, scooping them both up and carrying them downstairs to the kitchen.
“Mama?” Layla pipes up. Cady smooches her chubby little cheek a few times.
“Yes, Ladybug?”
“We hab f’uit?” Layla asks. “P’ease?”
“Yeah, of course you can have fruit,” Cady says. “Good pleases, too, that’s a good girl. Bumblebee, do you want fruit too?”
Leo just nods. She’s less of a morning person than her twin. Cady sets them both in their high chairs and buckles them in for safety, then washes some blueberries for them to eat.
Leo picks at hers, resting her elbows on her tray and holding her head in her little hands.
“What’s the matter, Lolo?” Cady asks sadly while she gives the pets their own breakfast and prepares some quick cereal for herself.
“Miss Mommy,” Leo says with a precious little pout. “Want cuddle.”
“Aww, sweetheart,” Cady says. “Mommy’s still here, she’s just upstairs. And we can go see if she wants to cuddle after breakfast.”
Leo perks up a little bit at the reminder that her mommy is still there, just not at breakfast, and starts eating her blueberries with a bit more speed. She and Layla chatter away about their plans for the day while they eat. Cady can’t quite understand what they’re saying, but she grins at the interactions regardless.
“All done,” Layla says when her blueberries are finished. Leo shoves her last few in her mouth and chews them with a nod of agreement.
“Good job, girls! Okay, let’s wash our hands and then we can go see Mommy,” Cady says. She grabs each from her chair and helps them wash the berry juice off their tiny hands, then carries them back up to the main bedroom to find Janis. “Jay? You up for a cuddle?”
Janis rolls over and gives a weak grin when she sees her whole family there waiting for her. She nods and gestures them over with a hand, so Cady sets the twins down to run over to her.
“Be gentle, girls,” she says quietly, following after them. She scoops Leo up and helps her get on the bed since she was struggling to make it. Layla sits and cuddles in on top of Janis while Leo nuzzles into her side. They both can clearly tell something’s off.
“Mommy sick?” Layla asks. “Need med’cine?”
Janis chuckles weakly and brushes a hand through Layla’s messy hair. Cady can tell it’s taking nearly all of her energy just to cuddle their babies, but Janis forces herself to keep going.
“Kind of, but medicine won’t fix it this time,” Janis says quietly. “I just need cuddles and sleep.”
“Wha’s wrong?” Leo asks, unfortunately curious. How do you explain depression to some barely two year olds? Cady thinks for a second before she tries to explain.
“You girls know how Aunt Reggie is a doctor? And she talks to people who are sad or scared or mad a lot, to help them feel better?” Cady begins. Both twins look her way and nod. “Some of the people Aunt Reggie talks to have something called depression. That’s a tough word, can you say it?”
Both girls try, sounding closer to ‘press in’ than anything else.
“Yeah, good job! But Mommy has depression too. Sometimes it makes her sad, or sometimes angry, or scared. Today it’s just making her really tired. But she’ll feel better soon, and then she can play with you again.”
“I can fissit?” Layla asks, wanting her mommy to be better now.
“You can’t fix it this time, Ladybug,” Cady says sadly. “But we can help Mommy feel better by giving her cuddles and letting her rest. We love her bunches, huh?”
Both girls nod and cuddle in again, trying to squeeze every ounce of love for their mommy into the snuggles. Layla even leans in to leave a wet, but sweet kiss on her forehead. “Mmmmwah!”
“Thank you, girls,” Janis says with a weak chuckle. “What did you have for breakfast?”
Cady knows that the twins are going to talk for a while, which buys her some time to track down a babysitter. She pulls out her phone and is about to shoot off a text to Damian before she remembers that he’s out of town visiting family. Aaron went with him, so that just leaves the Plastics. Oh boy. It’s worth a shot.
spacecadet: Hey is there any way you guys could take the smalls for the day?? Janis is having a depressive episode and I need to be able to take care of her
georgewashington: Are you sure you want us to? What about Damian?
spacecadet: He’s out of town for the week. I wouldn’t ask if I wasn’t desperate, I know you’re still sorta wary of them
georgewashington: I just don’t want to hurt them, or make you guys upset. Janis would never forgive me if something happened to them because of me.
spacecadet: Regina, you don’t have to worry about stuff like that. Unless it was something major we could never be mad. And Janis does trust you, she’s just protective
georgewashington: If you’re sure, we can take them. Gretchen’s working from home today, so we’ll all be here. What should I do?
spacecadet: Oh, thank you so much!! All they’ll really need from you guys is somewhere to nap and someone to play with. I’ll pack them some toys and things they’ll need and I can drop them off
spacecadet: Just maybe hide anything stainable, breakable, or expensive :/ they are toddlers
georgewashington: Okay, I’ll prep what I can. See you soon.
spacecadet: Thank you so much, Regina!!
Cady switches her phone back off and rolls out of the bed. Once she’s changed out of her pajamas, she goes to get her babies. “Okay girls, should we go get dressed?”
Layla crawls over when she reaches out, but Leo doesn’t want to leave Janis.
“Wha’bout Mommy?” She asks sadly.
“We can come see Mommy again for a little bit when you’re done, Mama will go fast,” Cady coaxes. Leo thinks for a second before she also comes to be picked up. “Yeah, there we go.”
Cady carries both babies back down the hall to their bedroom and sticks both in Leo’s crib to keep them contained.
“Do you want to match or dress different today, pumpkins?” She asks, rooting through their dresser for some outfits.
“Mash,” both twins say at the same time. Cady chuckles and pulls out two of everything she needs. Two green shirts, two pairs of soft black jeans, two pairs of socks. Layla reaches for her first this time, so she heads to scoop her out and rests her on the ground in front of her.
Layla giggles when Cady pops her shirt over her head and surprises her with a kiss on the other side. Cady smiles back until they reach the socks, which are always a struggle. Luckily for her, Layla cooperates and is quickly dressed and subbed out for Leo.
Cady repeats the process on her second daughter before she heads to their closet to grab the finishing touches. Two tiny pairs of white high top converse that match her own, and two of the jean jackets Janis painted to match her old ones. These have teddy bears on the back, which are absolutely adorable.
“Mommy painted these for you while you two were still in my tummy,” Cady says, resting them on the rail of Leo’s crib.
“In you tummy?” Leo asks interestedly. Cady nods and carries them both to see the pictures on their bulletin board. That’s a more recent addition to the room, and full of pictures of all the people important to the twins.
Cady points to one of her maternity photos, specifically at her belly. “You two were in here. That’s where you grew for a while.”
They both look curiously at the photo, then down at their own tummies. “How we come out?”
“Um… we can talk about that another day, let’s go do your hair,” Cady says quickly. Before the twins can say anything else she carries them into the bathroom and pops them down on the counter. She gives them each a comb to play with and then sprays them down with some detangling hairspray, brushing their dark curls out to a more manageable state.
She splits Leo’s down the middle and ties hers in space buns on top of her head, then gives Layla one ponytail so the Plastics can tell them apart more easily.
“I have a surprise for you, girls,” Cady says as she roots through the basket for some hair bows, per Leo’s request. They both perk up at the mention of a surprise and look to her interestedly. “You guys get to go to Aunt Reggie’s house today, isn’t that cool?”
“Aunt Weggie house?” Layla asks curiously. They’ve never been to Aunt Reggie’s house, Uncle D is their usual babysitter.
“Yeah! You get to go play with her and Aunt GG and Auntie Karen and Nutmeg,” Cady says, clipping the green bows to their hair ties.
“Wow,” Leo says excitedly. Cady laughs and picks them up again to carry them back to Janis.
“Mommy,” Layla calls happily, running back to Janis’ side of the bed. Janis helps her back up for another round of cuddles. “We go Aunt Weggie house!”
Leo wriggles her way up again as well, and Janis grabs her for snuggles too. Once she has her babies safely back in her hold, she raises a suspicious eyebrow at her wife.
“Just for the day, they’ll be fine,” Cady groans. “Damian’s still out of town and I want to be able to give you my full attention.”
Janis shrugs and brings her daughters up for some kisses, making them both giggle in delight. Cady takes the time to go pack some supplies for the girls while Janis has them occupied.
She packs enough diapers to last them each a week, some extra clothes in case of disaster, a few of their favorite small toys and activities, their pacifiers, and their stuffies. They already have sippy cups and other dishes there, since Damian insisted on buying everyone some just in case there was ever an emergency and they had to babysit. Turns out it was a great idea.
When Cady brings the jackets, backpacks, and shoes back into the bedroom to finish getting her daughters ready, she finds Leo carefully stroking her little hands through Janis’ hair, while Layla sits on Janis’ belly and is thoroughly explaining all the things she wants to do at her aunts’ house.
She chuckles at the precious sight before she enters the room and snatches Layla up for tickles and kisses. Layla shrieks in surprise, but quickly starts laughing and trying to push her away. Cady carefully rests her down and gets her tiny shoes on, and Janis grins when she sees the cute jacket Cady tugs onto Layla’s arms.
Leo goes next, giggling anxiously and curling into Janis for protection as Cady looms ominously overhead. She squeals when she’s snatched up by the mama claw and brought in for her round of kisses and tickles. Once her shoes and jacket are on, it’s time for them to go.
“Okay girls, give Mommy hugs, we gotta go,” she says quietly. Janis grunts slightly as both twins jump on top of her for one last cuddle before they head off.
“Bye girls,” Janis whispers. “I love you.”
“Luh you, Mommy!” Both twins call at the same time. Janis chuckles and kisses them one last time before Cady scoops them up and rests them on the ground.
“Get some rest, love,” Cady murmurs, bending down to kiss her wife. “I’ll be back soon, text me if you need anything.”
Janis nods and curls back into bed. Cady flips the light off on their way out and follows the twins to the car.
—————-
“Whoa,” both twins say when they see the apartment building. Cady realizes she probably should have explained that their aunties don’t live in the whole thing.
“Big house,” Leo says slightly anxiously. Cady chuckles and picks them both up to carry them in.
“Your aunties live here with other people,” Cady explains. “There’s a bunch of little houses in the building that other families live in.”
Cady carries them past the main desk and to the elevators. Leo gets to push the button to call it, and then Layla pushes the button to get up to the right floor.
“Can you knock?” Cady asks, since both her hands are full. Both of them helpfully rap their little fists against the door. “Good job. There’s Auntie Karen!”
“Hey!” Karen says happily. “Come in!”
Cady enters and sets the twins down. Layla toddles off immediately, making a beeline for Nutmeg.
“Dog, dog, dog,” she says happily on her way. “Doggy! I pet, p’ease?”
“Yes, you can pet her,” Karen chuckles. “Hi Leo.”
“Hi,” Leo replies quietly, pressing against Cady’s leg with a heartbreaking pout. Leo’s always been her anxious one, and is clearly frightened at the prospect of facing a new environment all alone.
Cady crouches down to comfort her, stroking some stray hairs away from her baby’s face. “You’re gonna be okay, Bee. Aunt Reggie and Aunt GG and Aunt Karen are gonna play with you, Mama put all your toys in your backpack. And you have Georgie in there too, he’ll give you cuddles if you get scared. And then you get to take your nap, and probably have lunch.”
“Wha’ lunch?” Leo asks.
“I don’t know, we’ll have to see what they have for you, but I bet it’ll be so yummy,” Cady says. “But you’re gonna be safe, little love. Your aunties will protect you, and they can call or text me on my phone if you need me. And I’ll be back to get you in a while, okay?”
“Okay Mama,” Leo says.
“That’s my brave girl,” Cady says happily, pecking her forehead and standing up. “Oh, there’s Aunt GG!”
Leo runs over immediately for a hug. She and Gretchen have a special bond, which Cady is always happy to see. Regina pops out of the kitchen too, upon hearing the commotion that the twins bring everywhere they go.
“Aww,” she coos when she sees Leo cuddled up with her girlfriend. She comes over to Cady to urgently ask, “Which one is that?”
“Leo,” Cady chuckles. “She has space buns, Layla has a ponytail.”
“Got it,” Regina says. She looks down when she feels something tug on her pant leg. “Oh, hi Layla.”
“Hi!” Layla says excitedly. Regina just looks at her for a second, not totally sure what to do. Layla reaches to be picked up, so Regina bends down and scoops her off the floor.
“I should get back to Janis soon,” Cady says. “I’ll have my phone, you can text or call if anything comes up.”
“Sounds good,” Gretchen says, still holding Leo. She sets her down for a second and says, “Go say bye to your mama.”
Regina sets Layla down too, and both twins run to give Cady a goodbye hug and kiss.
“Mwah. I love you, girls. Be good, I’ll be back to get you later,” Cady says, kissing both of their foreheads and holding them close before releasing them back. “Have fun!”
—-
Regina notices Leo hunch in on herself a little bit and look around anxiously when Cady leaves. Layla is fine and very occupied trying to play with a lazy Nutmeg. Regina still doesn’t quite know how to handle the twins, but Leo is clearly frightened. She knows how to deal with that.
She heads over and crouches down in front of her, but leaves some distance so Leo doesn’t feel crowded. “Hi, honey. Can you show me what you have in your backpack?”
Leo nods and sits down across from her, removing her little backpack and resting it on the ground in front of her. “Help p’ease?”
“Okay,” Regina says, undoing the zipper for her. “What do you have there?” Leo reaches in and carefully pulls out her stuffed giraffe. “Who’s that?”
“Georgie,” Leo says quietly. “He gi’affe.”
“That’s so cool,” Regina says. “Should we show Georgie around so he knows where everything is?”
Leo nods, so Regina stands and picks up the baby to give her a little tour. Leo holds tightly to her stuffed friend and looks around curiously.
“This is the kitchen,” Regina says. She lets Leo look around at all the things on the walls, giving her time to adjust. When Leo looks back to her, they move on. “And this is the living room.” Leo’s seen this, it’s where the entryway leads to and where Layla is currently playing with Karen and Gretchen. She looks around for a short while before she’s ready to move on. “And this is the office, this is where we do our work, and over there is the bathroom.”
“Where sleep?” Leo asks, so Regina shows her the two bedrooms.
“This is where Aunt GG and Aunt Karen and I sleep, and then this is the bedroom for when we have people come sleep over,” Regina says. Leo looks around curiously before giving a nod. “What do you think?”
“Big,” Leo says. Regina chuckles and nods.
“It is pretty big. Oh, do you want to see something fun?”
Leo nods interestedly, so Regina carries her to see the axolotls in the tank in their bedroom.
“Fishy!” Leo says excitedly, pointing to the tank. “Ooh.”
“They’re called axolotls,” Regina explains. Leo tries to say it, but it just sounds more like ‘blelele’. “Yeah, close enough!”
“Name?” Leo asks, looking curiously at the strange creatures. Regina holds her at a different angle so she can see better and points to each one.
“This one is named Versace, and this is Gucci,” she says. “And then waaaaay back here is Louboutin The Second.”
Leo giggles. “Silly name.”
“They are, just a little,” Regina agrees. “Okay, let’s go find your sister, hm?” Leo nods, so they head back to the living room. Layla has finally been satisfied with the amount of doggy cuddles she’s been given and left the poor creature alone. She’s now busy explaining her toys to Gretchen and Karen.
Gretchen looks up when they come back, and smiles when she sees Leo cuddled into Regina’s shoulder. “Do you wanna come play?”
Leo nods, so Regina sets her down and lets her run over to her twin and their toys. Regina jumps a little when she feels an arm slide gently around her waist to rub that one spot on her lower back, and a sweet peck pressed to her neck.
“You’re really good with her,” Gretchen whispers. “It’s cute.”
Regina shakes her head and pulls her closer. “I’m not. I just know how to calm people down. I don’t even know how to play with them.”
“Just try,” Gretchen says quietly, kissing her cheek gently and heading back over. Regina watches as Karen and Gretchen play legos with the twins, building masterpieces and then taking them apart to make new ones. Gretchen makes it sound so simple, just try. But Regina wouldn’t even know where to begin.
So she just watches. Leo sits on Karen’s lap and builds her creations, and Layla stands in between the couch and the coffee table in order to make hers. Regina takes a sneaky picture of Leo explaining her tower to Karen.
“Aww,” she coos quietly when she sees how it came out.
“Send that to Janis, she’d like that,” Gretchen chuckles.
Layla looks over at her curiously. “Aunt GG?”
“Yeah?”
“Who… um… Janis?” Layla asks, lisping the end but managing to get the sound out.
“Janis is your mommy, that’s her name,” Gretchen explains.
“No,” Leo says with a head shake, joining their discussion.
“No?”
“Mommy name… uhm… love,” Leo explains. The Plastics all fight to contain a coo, looking at each other.
“Mommy’s name is love?” Karen asks. Both twins nod. “And what’s your mama’s name?”
Janis tends to switch between nicknames for Cady more often, so they’re curious to see what her ‘name’ is.
“Baby,” Layla says.
“No,” Leo disagrees. “Mama Bullaf’y.”
“I don’t know.” Layla says eventually.
“That’s okay,” Regina chuckles. “You’ll learn it soon.”
—————
“Hey, Jay, how you feeling?” Cady asks gently as she heads back into her bedroom. Janis groans quietly when she flips the light on. “You know it gets worse if you just sit here in the dark all day. You need light. You’re like a plant.”
Janis pouts at her. Cady kicks off her shoes and crawls back in next to her for a snuggle.
“The girls are fine, the Plastics seemed really excited,” she says quietly. “It’s kind of nice, isn’t it? Just us for a day.”
Janis nods. They both love their daughters more than the world, but it is nice to have a break from time to time. Even if the circumstances surrounding it are less than ideal.
Cady’s phone dings in her pocket, so she fishes it out to see who’s messaging her.
“Speak of the devil. Aww,” she chuckles, holding it so Janis can see.
reginald: Sent a picture: Play time
reginald: Also, just thought we’d let you know, they don’t know your names.
spacecadet: Really?
reginald: They can’t decide if yours is baby or butterfly, and they think Janis’ name is love.
spacecadet: Oh my goodness
reginald: It’s actually really cute. Gretch said to send that picture to Janis and Layla didn’t know who that was.
spacecadet: At least they don’t think our names are mama and mommy anymore. Are you guys still good?
reginald: Yeah, everything’s good. Leo just needed a little tour and now she’s all settled in. And Layla and Nutmeg are best buds.
spacecadet: Haha, poor pooch. She’s always after Daffy and Ellie too
reginald: Oh, Nutmeg loves it. She just gets to lay there and be cuddled, it’s her dream come true.
spacecadet: Well you guys can have the twins anytime so she can get her snuggle seshes in
reginald: Sounds like a plan, I’ll let Nutmeg know. We’ll probably keep sending you stuff, too.
spacecadet: Please do, you guys are so good with them. Thanks again <3
reginald: Of course.
Janis chuckles as she reads over their conversation too. Cady cuddles her closer and pecks her forehead.
“Did you eat?” She asks. Janis shakes her head. “Okay. I’m gonna go get you something, I’ll be right back.”
Janis pouts again, so Cady leans down to kiss her a few times before she leaves. Janis grins contently and settles deeper in under the covers.
——————
Karen continues playing with the twins for a few hours, and Regina stays to watch. Gretchen has some new designs to work on and heads into the office for some quiet.
Regina’s making progress with the twins, eventually even coloring a picture with them once they pull out some crayons and paper. They both eagerly compliment her drawing of a rabbit.
It’s almost relaxing, in a strange way. Karen makes conversation with everyone as she draws a duck, and the twins seem to be warming up even more to the environment.
Relaxing until Layla suddenly snatches the same crayon Leo wanted to add another beautiful scribble to her page. Leo whines a, “Hey!” and scrambles to take it back. Layla shrieks and holds it out of her reach, and suddenly they’re both in tears.
Karen and Regina look to each other in concern at the two little tantrum tornados they now have to deal with, and each gently pick up a twin so they can’t reach each other. Karen looks very anxious as Leo thrashes in her hold and releases a shriek that so loud they can’t quite figure out how such a small person managed it. Apparently quiet little Leo is actually the screamer of the two.
Layla seems to be more physical, wriggling to be put down so she can get back at her sister. Regina refuses to let her down, knowing it’ll only get worse if she does. Time for some desperate measures.
She manages to carry a wiggling and screaming toddler into the kitchen in one arm, doing a strange sort of fireman’s carry. It works well enough. She grabs two of the sippy cups they have and fills them with some cold water.
Karen is now holding Leo as far away as she possibly can, trying desperately to keep her grip as Leo kicks and shrieks like a banshee in her hold.
“Good lord,” Regina murmurs under her breath. “Hey!”
Her tone isn’t mean, or harsh, just loud. Both twins briefly stop their antics to look at her, knowing they might be in some serious trouble here.
She hands Karen one of the cups to give to Leo. “I need both of you to take some big drinks for me, okay? You’re gonna run out of tears to cry, we have to give you more.”
They both take their cups with a very serious look in their eye and drink a good bit of their water. They don’t want to run out of tears, that would be bad.
“Good job,” Regina congratulates when they pull away with a gasp. It’s a trick she was taught in college, that actually regulates their breathing and helps calm people down in intense moments. “Now you’re gonna take a nap. And we can have a talk when you wake up.”
For safety, they decide to keep them apart. Layla gets set up for her nap in the master bedroom, and Leo in the guest room. They make little barriers with pillows so they don’t fall out of bed and give them the best blankets, then leave them with their stuffed animals, pacifiers, and cups of water to rest.
“Fucking hell,” Regina breathes when she shuts the door to where Leo is resting. “Where do they get the energy for that?”
“Revenge is a big deal for toddlers,” Karen shrugs. “They don’t like when things aren’t fair.”
“Christ,” Regina sighs, sitting down and rubbing her temples. Karen sits down as well. “They’re so sweet, usually, what-what happened?”
“I know what you’re thinking, and no it’s not,” Karen responds. Regina looks at her in shock, wondering how she could’ve possibly known. “It’s not your fault, and you’re not a bad aunt. Do you know how impressive what you just did is? You got two toddlers to stop having a tantrum. That’s, like, really special.”
“But they only started getting upset when I started playing with them. All I can do is… stop them crying or whatever,” Regina grumbles. “I don’t know how to interact with them, or-or play with them.”
“They were upset because they were overtired,” Karen hushes, letting Regina lean onto her shoulder. “We just should’ve had them nap sooner, that’s all. But you’re really special, you know.”
“Hmm?”
“You treat them like people,” Karen says quietly. “That’s, like, super rare. You showed Leo around when she got here instead of just making her go play, and you helped them calm down instead of yelling at them for being too loud or whatever. That’s what’ll help them the most.”
Regina gives a noncommittal hum and accepts the comfort offered by her girlfriend.
“And even if you don’t really play with them that much, they still like you,” Karen continues. “You still talk to them, and give them cool stuff. Playing isn’t the only way to interact with them.”
“I guess,” Regina agrees. “You’re good with them too.”
“They’re easy!” Karen says happily. “But I’m still a kid at heart, I guess. They’re easy for me to relate to, or whatever.”
Regina chuckles. “I can see that. You’ve always been the fun one.”
“Thanks,” Karen laughs back. “You okay now?”
“Yeah. Thank you, honey,” Regina says quietly, leaning in for a quick kiss. “I love you.”
Karen beams, it’s quite rare that Regina says ‘I love you’ first. “I love you too.”
——————
Leo wakes up from her nap first. Gretchen had been hiding in the study throughout the crayon debacle, leaving it to her girlfriends to handle. But the office is closer to the bedrooms, so she decides to be the one to go comfort Leo as she hears her start to cry.
“Hey, Leo lady, good morning,” she says gently. Leo scrambles down off the big bed she’s on and runs in for some comfort. “What happened?”
“Dark,” Leo whimpers, sniffling into Gretchen’s shoulder. “‘N big. Scared.”
“Aww, I’m sorry, sweetheart,” Gretchen hushes. “You don’t need to be scared, nothing here can hurt you. See?”
Leo nods in relief when she flips the light back on. “T’ank you.”
“Of course, honey. I think Karen is making lunch, are you hungry?” Gretchen asks, shutting the light back off and carrying her back into the kitchen. Leo nods and rubs her eyes blearily. She’s not quite awake yet.
“Hey, Leo,” Regina says quietly. “Good morning.”
“Hi,” Leo yawns. Regina chuckles gently.
“Do you feel better?”
Leo nods again. “Wha’ lunch?”
“I don’t know, we have a lot of things here,” Regina answers. “What would you like?”
Leo shrugs, so Gretchen carries her in to see her lunch options. Karen looks up from her sandwich when she hears them come in. “Hey, kiddo! Did you have a good nap?”
Leo nods with a little smile. “Auntie Kawen lunch?”
“Yeah! I’m having a sandwich, do you want one?” Karen asks. Leo nods. “Okay, what kind?”
Leo wiggles a little bit, so Gretchen sets her down to go look at the options. She and Karen both chuckle as Leo picks a large jar of peanut butter out of the cabinet and hands it to Karen.
“Dis p’ease,” she says. Karen takes it from her and unscrews the lid.
“Okay, do you want jelly in it too?”
“No t’ank you.”
“Okay, good job! I’ll bring it to you in a second,” Karen says. Leo runs back to Gretchen to spend some time together while they wait on lunch.
When they head back to the living room, Regina is gone. Leo looks around in confusion until she comes back with her twin. Regina beckons her over, so Leo lets go of Gretchen’s hand and heads over to her other aunt.
Regina sets Layla down next to her. “Do you two feel better now?” They both nod. “Good. Being angry like that is no fun, huh?” They both shake their heads. “Say sorry for fighting, then we can go play again.”
“Sorry Leo,” Layla says sheepishly.
“Sorry Lala,” Leo replies, wrapping her twin in a hug. Layla hugs her back for a second, popping up on her tippy toes to squeeze her sister.
“Sorry Aunt Weggie,” Layla adds. “Fer sc’eaming.” Leo nods to agree.
“Thank you for your apology, girls. Layla, let’s go pick your lunch and then you can play some more,” Regina says, picking them both back up and carrying them to the kitchen.
“There they are,” Gretchen says when they return. “Leo, your sandwich is ready, do you want something to drink with it?”
Leo nods and heads over to see what they have in the fridge, while Layla goes to Karen to pick her meal. She also just picks a sandwich and is quickly released to go pick her own beverage. Leo chooses apple juice, and Layla picks milk.
-
Surprisingly, each twin finishes about half of her sandwich. Karen helps them down off their chairs and releases them back to the living room for more playing. Leo dives right in and pulls out a small puzzle she brought, pulling out all the animals and trying to work out where they go again. Layla does her own for a while, but gets bored pretty quickly.
So she decides to go on a short adventure. Her Aunt GG disappeared into a room a while ago, so Layla heads off to find her.
-
Gretchen turns when she hears noises at the glass door to the office, spinning around in her chair to find Layla on her tippy toes trying to reach the doorknob. It takes a few tries, but she manages to open it and toddles into the room victoriously.
“Hi GG!” She chirps happily. Gretchen laughs and beckons her over.
“Hi Layla. What are you up to?” She chuckles, pulling her into her lap and re-doing Layla’s ponytail since it got messed up during her nap. Layla seems delighted to be sitting at the big desk where her aunties do their work.
“Lolo do puzzle,” Layla explains. “Don’t wan’ to.”
“Aww. That’s okay, do you wanna help me with a few things?” Gretchen replies. Layla nods eagerly, so Gretchen wheels them closer to the desk and pulls over a design she’s working on for a client.
“Ooh,” Layla says. “P’etty.”
“Thank you,” Gretchen chuckles. “I have to draw it first, and then I make it a real dress people can wear later.” Layla looks at her in awe. “I know, right? Here, help me with this. What color should I make these flowers here?”
Layla suddenly feels a massive amount of responsibility weigh on her two year old shoulders. This is very important. “Uhm… uh… lellow.”
“Yellow?” Gretchen asks. “That would be really pretty, actually, good job! Yellow would look nice with the blue here. Good pick!”
Layla gives a happy little wiggle on her lap, and watches eagerly as Gretchen sketches the flowers in with a yellow pencil.
“Aunt GG?” Layla pipes up as Gretchen moves onto another area.
“Yeah?”
“Me too?” Layla says. “P’ease?”
Gretchen chuckles. “You want a dress?” Layla nods. “Okay, we can try that. Here.”
She sketches out another model, with about the same proportions as Layla.
“Here, stand up, that’ll make this easier. How long should we make the skirt?” Gretchen asks, popping Layla onto her feet and crouching down in front of her. She points to her ankle, just below her knee, and just above her knee. “Which one?”
Layla looks at her legs for a long moment before she points above her knee. Gretchen smiles and nods.
“That’s what I would have picked too. And should it go out big or be closer to your body?” Gretchen asks, demonstrating where each type would fall. Layla picks a big poofy skirt. “Oh, yeah. You got some good style, chica. Now the sleeves, where should they go?”
Layla watches as Gretchen points to her wrist, just above her elbow, and her shoulder. She points to her shoulder when Gretchen takes her hand away and giggles as Gretchen tickles her.
“Okay, come see,” Gretchen says, picking her back up and resting her on her lap again. Layla smiles happily when she sees the form of the dress. “Now we get to pick what colors and patterns it has. What’s your favorite color?”
“Uhm… g’een,” Layla replies, pointing to her t-shirt. Gretchen grabs two different greens that would look good with a dress this shape, one closer to an emerald and the other a lighter fern sort of shade.
“Which green?” She asks, holding them in front of Layla. Layla picks the lighter one. “Ooh, yeah.” Gretchen carefully makes the skirt green, a plan for fabrics already starting to come together in her mind. “Now what should we do with the top bit?”
“Uh…” Layla says. “Sparkledy.”
“Sparkly? I didn’t even think of that,” Gretchen hums. She pencils it in the same color and adds marks to make sure she knows the bodice should be sequined. “You could be a designer too, Lala, look at this cool dress we drew!”
Layla giggles and looks proudly at the drawing. “Now make it?”
“I can’t make it right now, but yeah, soon! All my stuff to make it is at my work,” Gretchen explains. “Here, let’s take a picture to show your moms, they’re gonna be so proud of you.”
Layla smiles when Gretchen holds her phone up for a selfie, and laughs as her auntie kisses her cheek with an exaggerated smooch sound. “Cheeeese.”
————-
Cady reaches an arm out of the bath she’s dragged her wife into taking when her phone pings with a text. She carefully unlocks it to find a few messages from Gretchen.
fetchen: Sent a picture: i have a new assistant!
spacecadet: Aww! She looks so happy <3
fetchen: Sent a picture: no, seriously, she designed this dress basically herself
fetchen: are you open to having the girls as models at some point?? i’m kind of thinking i should start a children’s line
“No,” Janis pipes up quietly, having read through the conversation as well.
“Not even for Gretchen? It’s not like it’s a huge company. And how cute would they be in outfits like that?” Cady pleads. She’s wary of the idea as well, but knows Gretchen would handle everything safely.
Janis considers this aspect, and has to admit her daughters would make excellent models. Maybe she can make an exception for Gretchen. “Fine.”
spacecadet: You should, we’ll buy all your designs
spacecadet: And if they’re into the idea I don’t see why they couldn’t model for you. Layla loves a camera
fetchen: haha i’ll have to get Gina to take some pics of her then! she’s been looking for a way to connect with them anyway
spacecadet: Aww, how sweet. They love all of you
fetchen: that’s what I keep trying to tell her! anyway, I should probably get back to work with Lala. tell Janis I say hi!!
spacecadet: Of course!! Thank you <3
Janis nuzzles into her neck as she flicks the phone back off and sighs, in a mix of exhaustion and contentment.
“Layla must take after you,” Cady murmurs. “Little artist.”
Janis grins gently against her. “We’ll see.”
—————
“There you are,” Regina says as she enters the office to find Layla with Gretchen. “What are you two up to?”
“GG make d’esses!” Layla says happily. “I helpin’.”
“Oh, you’re the best helper,” Regina responds. Layla beams at her. “What did you do?”
Gretchen smiles too as Regina tips her head up and kisses her forehead, then starts gently looking through the designs. Gretchen pulls out the one she designed with Layla’s help and shows it to her.
“She did this pretty much herself,” she says. “And now I kind of want to start a children’s line.”
“You should,” Regina says. “You could make little matching ones of the adult designs you do. Have, like, a mommy and me line. I’d buy that and we don’t even have kids.”
“That’s a good idea,” Gretchen hums. “I’ll think about it more later. We’ve done enough work for today, let’s go play!”
Regina chuckles as Layla runs out of the room when Gretchen sets her down, her little ponytail bouncing behind her.
“You two are cute together,” she murmurs. “You’d make a good mom.”
“So would you,” Gretchen says, wrapping her arms around her waist. Regina shakes her head and tries to move away, but Gretchen refuses to let her go. “No, look at me.” She gently cups Regina’s chin and makes her look into her eyes. “If you wanted to, you would make a wonderful mother. You’re not your dad. You’ve made so much progress, sweetheart.”
Regina flushes at the pet name and buries her face in the crook of Gretchen’s neck. “We’ll talk about it?”
“Yeah,” Gretchen agrees quietly. “Always. Whenever you want, we’ll talk about it. You know you can always talk to us?”
Regina nods. “You know too?”
“Yeah,” Gretchen murmurs. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” Regina whispers, unfortunately having to pull away from one of her favorite places, since her spine is beginning to ache at being hunched over to cuddle her smaller girlfriend. “We should probably go save Karen.”
Gretchen laughs and takes her hand, leading her back out to the living room.
—-
A short while later, Regina half-watches Karen giving the twins ‘airplane rides’ around the apartment, weaving around the furniture and in and and out of rooms. She’s also half-watching her Tiktok feed for the day. Hmm.
She brings up her text thread with Cady to ask a very important question.
-
Cady peeks at her phone when it chimes, picking it up from the bathroom counter to see the message. She laughs when she sees what it is, and heads back to the living room where Janis is lethargically sprawled on the couch.
“Regina wants to know if she can put the babies on Tiktok,” she giggles.
“Absolutely not,” Janis grumbles.
“Oh come on, grumpy pants,” Cady coaxes, turning their show back on and dimming the lights a bit. “Some of them are cute, and Gretchen says she’s having a hard time connecting with them. She said she’d send them to me for us to check before she posts them. Please?”
Janis does kind of want to see how her daughters react to a few of the trends she’s seen, and knows she’s wary of the idea simply because she still has a hard time trusting Regina. So, begrudgingly, “Maybe.”
Cady grins and kisses her hair, and they wait for the videos to come in.
They only have to wait a few minutes before the first one comes through. Cady pauses their show again and waits for Janis to turn onto her back on top of her, then brings up the video so they can both see.
Layla and Leo sit side by side on a very nice couch, their little socked feet not even making it to the end of the cushion. Regina hands each one a little gift bag, and they both tear in to see what present they’ve gotten. Layla gasps excitedly when she pulls out a banana.
“A ‘nana!” She says happily. Leo pulls out one of her own and looks at it in confusion. “Leo, we got ‘nanas! Aunt Weggie, open p’ease?”
Leo’s eyes go wide and and she gives an excited gasp when she realizes she actually has one of her favorite fruits in her hand, and asks for hers to be opened in sign language. Regina laughs and peels both bananas. Each girl takes theirs back and munches happily on it while the video closes. Just before it cuts, they both say a muffled, “T’ank you!” around their bites.
Cady and Janis both laugh, and Cady sends back a message to explain that they usually give them their bananas pre-peeled, so that’s why Leo didn’t recognize it.
The next video comes through a few minutes later. Leo and Layla have finished their bananas and are still on the couch. Regina enters the room filming, rests her phone on the coffee table, and leaves the room.
It takes a second for them to notice, but Layla clocks the phone first. She rolls onto her tummy and slides off the couch before going to pick it up. She sees herself on the screen and pauses for a second to smile at her reflection before she goes running to find her auntie in the kitchen. The background moves wildly as Layla pokes her little tongue out in her concentration, and the rhythmic little thumps of her footsteps can be heard.
“Aunt Weggie!” She calls happily when she finds her. “You left you phone!”
“I left my phone?” Regina says in fake shock. Layla toddles over and gives it back. “Oh, thank you! You’re very responsible.”
The camera flips around to show Layla wrapped around Regina’s legs, giving a wide smile up at her just before it cuts.
“Aww,” Cady coos. “We’ve trained them well.”
“She’s so cute,” Janis chuckles, tapping the video to play it again.
The next one features Leo, sitting on Regina’s lap in the kitchen. Regina explains that Leo had asked for a drink and they’re going to see how well she can pour it herself. A small glass is put in front of the toddler, and she’s offered a bottle of almond milk.
Leo takes the bottle carefully and tips it over the glass, slowly pouring some into the cup. She has the right motions, but quickly gets carried away and fills the cup too much. It spills over onto the counter, and Regina quickly grabs the bottle to stop it. Both Leo and Regina pull the same face, wide eyes and lips pressed into a thin line as they look into the camera.
“Oh no,” Leo says. “Needa towel, p’ease.”
Someone else, most probably Gretchen, hands over some paper towels, and Leo carefully swipes it over the counter to clean up her mess.
“There we go,” she says, sounding more like ‘dairy doe’.
“Good job!” Regina congratulates as Leo ever so carefully picks up her very full cup of milk and takes a sip. Regina helps her get down off her lap, and a ‘T’ank you!’ can be faintly heard. “You’re welcome!”
“Oh goodness,” Cady laughs. “At least she cleaned up after herself. Poor Regina.”
“And she’s polite,” Janis chuckles quietly. “Her sweet little voice.”
“We’re doing a good job,” Cady says quietly. “With them.”
Janis nods in agreement and scrolls back up to the video with the bananas.
-
It takes a long while for the next video to come through, and Regina explains that they’d taken a break to eat dinner (alfredo pasta) and then to clean said dinner off the twins. Layla had apparently taken a special liking to the meal and managed to get it in her hair, so that took some extra time.
But a video of two clean babies comes through. Regina is sitting on the ground wrapped in a fitted sheet so just her face is visible. Karen seems to be filming this time, and encourages the girls to go get their auntie. Leo seems a little concerned, but they both run over to Regina.
When they just make it, Regina suddenly opens the sheet and snatches both inside like a venus flytrap. They both scream in surprise, but their adorable giggles are quickly heard. The video cuts, and they both run into the trap again, and again, and again.
Another one comes through, and this time Gretchen is the one in the sheet. The twins don’t stop laughing the whole time, their giggles making a precious audio for the video. Just before it cuts, Gretchen is looking exhausted, but Leo calls a delighted “‘Gain!”
So, another one comes through with Karen in the sheet. The twins’ hair is frizzy and their cheeks are pink by this point. Cady is just glad they’re getting some energy out before bedtime.
Janis laughs gently at each video, wondering how she hasn’t thought of this. Apparently her daughters are easily entertained. “I miss them.”
“I miss them too,” Cady sighs. “I’ll need to go get them soon, though, it’s getting late.” An alert suddenly comes through her phone then, letting them know a thunderstorm is approaching. “Uh oh.”
“Maybe not,” Janis chuckles. “You shouldn’t drive in that.”
“But they freak out during storms,” Cady says anxiously. “Especially Leo. But I can’t get there before it hits.”
“She’ll be fine,” Janis comforts. “Regina can handle that.”
“I hope so.”
—————
Regina grins happily as she reads the comments for the videos she’s posted so far, everyone delighting in her precious nieces. She’s reading one that seems nearly distraught at how polite they are when a text comes through from Cady.
spacecadet: Hey, I just saw that a storm is coming. Jay doesn’t want me to drive in it but both of the girls get really scared
Regina checks her weather app and sees that a small but strong storm is rapidly approaching. She peeks out the window to find that the sky is already grey with dark clouds.
reginald: Yeah, you definitely shouldn’t drive. I think we can make it, you come when it stops.
spacecadet: Are you sure?? I know they’ll be fine but you shouldn’t have to deal with both of them screaming
reginald: Oh, it’s fine, we already have. There was a little incident before naptime. And scared babies are easy, we’ll be fine.
spacecadet: Incident?
reginald: Bad word choice. Both had a tantrum, they were tired and wanted the same crayon.
spacecadet: Oh goodness, I’m sorry
reginald: Cady, they’re two, it’s fine. We dealt with it and they’re fine. Is there anything you usually do with them during storms?
spacecadet: If you say so. If we know they’re coming we usually warn them, and if it’s really bad we hide in the basement so the noise is muffled. But you can do whatever you need to
reginald: Sounds like a plan. See you whenever it passes.
spacecadet: Thanks, Regina :)
“Girls!” Regina calls gently as she clicks her phone off. Leo and Layla come barreling down the hallway to her when they hear her call, and Gretchen and Karen quickly follow. Regina crouches down to the smalls’ height to explain the situation. “There’s a thunderstorm coming, but you don’t need to be scared. We can all have a storm party!”
“A pawty?” Leo says anxiously. She instinctively reaches for Layla’s hand, nervous at the prospect of a storm. Especially without Mama or Mommy there to comfort them.
“Yeah!” Regina says excitedly. “Come on, let’s get ready.”
Gretchen and Karen seem confused, but follow along with Regina’s plan. They open the curtains on one of the floor-to-ceiling windows so they can see out, and the twins helpfully grab all the couch cushions and pillows they can carry. Regina gets blankets, and they build a little fort in front of the window, held up by a lamp.
Regina, Gretchen, and Karen head inside, and the twins sit in between them to wait.
After a few minutes, the first flash of lightning lights up the dark sky. Both twins let out a whimper of fright and scream when a crack of thunder follows.
“Shh, it’s okay,” Gretchen comforts as they both bury their faces in her chest.
“Loud,” Leo whimpers.
“I know,” Gretchen hushes. “The storm can’t hurt you, it’s just a scary noise.”
“Let’s play a game,” Regina coaxes. Both twins peek their little faces out to see her. “Come here.” Anxiously, they both crawl into her lap and look out the window. “Let’s count.”
“Count?” Layla asks anxiously, jumping and letting out a squeak of fright at the next lightning.
“Yeah, let’s go,” Regina says, coaxing them to look. “One… two… three… four… five… oh, there’s the thunder!”
“Why count?” Leo asks, poking her face out when the booms stop.
“If we can count high that means the storm is far away,” Regina explains. “It’s gonna get closer, and then it’ll move away and be done. And we’re safe in here.”
She smiles as she sees the twins take some deep breaths to calm down and cuddle closer into her. They still jump when the lightning goes by, but this time they count with her.
“One… two… free… four… fibe,” they say anxiously. This time, they giggle when the thunder hits. Layla says, “I did it!”
“Did you make it thunder?” Regina chuckles. Both girls nod. “Good job. Oh, here we go, do it again!”
They only make it to three this time.
“Get close?” Leo asks curiously, looking to her aunties.
“Uhhuh,” Regina confirms. Karen and Gretchen switch to be on either side of her and cuddle in close with everyone. “It’s getting closer and then it’ll go away.”
A few more rounds go by where they get as high as three, and then they start only making it to one or two. Luckily, they don’t seem scared anymore. They look excited to be tracking the storm and making the thunder happen.
“Oh, we can count higher now, the storm is leaving,” Regina says happily. “You’re doing so good!”
Gradually, the rain slows and the storm dissipates. Leo and Layla look curiously out the window the whole time, and make no effort to leave Regina’s lap once the sun gently peeks out from the horizon, beginning to set for the day. Strangely, Regina finds herself not wanting to let them go, either.
Gretchen and Karen gently exit their little tent to get all the twins’ things packed back up, and find their shoes and jackets once again. Gretchen is just tying on the last little shoe when they hear a knock at the door.
“Who could that be, girls?” Karen says excitedly, also trying to stop Nutmeg from barking at it too much. “Go see!”
Both twins eagerly run down the hallway to the front door, and Leo stands on her tippy toes to open it.
“Mama!” They both call happily, wrapping each of their little bodies around one of her legs.
“Hi, sweet girls!” Cady says happily, bending to pick each of them up and kiss all over their little faces. “Oh, I missed you so much! What did you do today?”
Both girls immediately launch into a story, explaining in as much detail as they can the exciting events that happened with their aunties. Cady enters and shuts the door behind her as they rattle off their favorite parts.
“Really? Did you have so much fun?” Cady asks when they finally have explained everything they wanted to. They both nod eagerly. “Good. We have to go home now, can you go say thank you?”
Both twins wiggle to be set down and run back to their aunties, giving hugs and saying thank you for a fun day. Cady follows suit too, and grins as her daughters seem to linger for just a while longer with Regina.
“Thank you so much,” Cady says gratefully. “You guys are so good with them, thank you.”
“Anytime!” Karen says happily. “Bye girls!”
Both girls wave goodbye and call a, “Bye-bye!” over their mama’s shoulder as they’re carried out of the apartment and down to go home. Cady chuckles and kisses each forehead gently as she buckles them into their car seats.
——————
“Mommy, Mommy!” Both girls call happily when Cady unlocks the front door to let them in, toddling full speed down the hall and over to Janis on the couch. Cady stays behind for a second and gives a small grin at the wide smile her wife gets upon seeing their children.
“Hi, girls!” Janis says happily, sounding like she already has a bit of energy back. It usually takes her a minimum of a few days to recover from an episode, but she’s already making good progress through this one. “I missed you.”
“Miss Mommy too,” the twins say at the same time. Janis grins contently as they both worm their way up on top of her for a snuggle.
“Aww, my sweet girls,” Janis coos. “Did you have fun with your aunties?”
Cady rolls her eyes lovingly, knowing Janis just opened a whole can of worms for herself. At least she has enough time to go get the twins’ bedtime things ready for them while they explain their whole day to their mommy.
-
The twins apparently gave Janis an abridged version of the story, because when Cady comes back she finds them all silent. Both twins are cuddled into Janis’ chest, one little head on each of her shoulders. Janis has a hand resting on each of their backs, holding them close to her. Her eyes are closed contently, and she looks the most at peace Cady thinks she’s ever seen from her. She’s glad to see it.
She sneakily snaps a few pictures of her perfect little family before she does unfortunately have to break up the little cuddle party. “Alright, munchkins, it’s bedtime.”
“I can get them down,” Janis says quietly, opening her eyes when Cady kisses her forehead.
“If you want, of course,” Cady agrees. “I got their jammies ready and everything.”
Janis nods and picks up both of their sleepy girls, standing carefully and carrying them upstairs. Cady flops onto their bed and listens down the hall as Janis gets them into their pajamas, brushes their teeth and hair, and reads them some bedtime stories.
The end of story time is her cue, and she hauls herself up to go to the nursery to kiss their babies goodnight. Janis is hunched over and pressed against Leo’s little face, giving her her goodnight kisses and having their little nightly chat. Cady goes to Layla first.
“Did you have a good day today?” She whispers. Layla nods. “Good! What was your favorite part?”
“Uh… doggy,” Layla responds.
“You liked playing with Nutmeg?” Cady chuckles. “I bet she liked you too. What part did you not like?”
“Fundersto’m,” Layla says.
“I know, that must’ve been scary,” Cady replies. “But you made it through the whole thing even though you were scared! You were so brave, Ladybug.” Layla beams at her, and Cady smiles back. “Are we gonna have our best day tomorrow?” Layla nods again. “Good, get some good sleep so you’re ready for it.”
Cady leans down to kiss her forehead and down her little nose.
“Goodnight, my sweet little pumpkin, have sweet dreams,” Cady whispers. “I love you so much.”
“Luh you, Mama,” Layla says quietly, followed by a yawn.
Cady and Janis switch twins then, repeating their process on the other girl before turning on the white noise machine and nightlight, and leaving them to sleep.
—————
Across town, all three Plastics flop into bed early, exhausted after a very, very long day. It’s Regina’s turn in the middle, her favorite nights. She’d never admit it, but she loves having each of her girlfriends cuddled up on either side of her all night.
“We did good,” Gretchen yawns. Her girlfriends nod in agreement. “We… we should have a chat tomorrow.”
“Stop yawning, you’re making me yawn,” Regina grumbles. Gretchen chuckles and leans in for a kiss. Regina suddenly forgets her complaints and kisses her back.
“Ahem,” Karen coughs. Regina rolls her eyes lovingly, but flips over to give Karen some affection too. “Thank you.”
“I love you,” Regina whispers, kissing both of her girlfriends and cuddling in under the duvet.
“I love you too,” Gretchen murmurs, also kissing both of them before cuddling in on Regina’s right side.
“I love you three,” Karen says, getting her kisses in and settling in on Regina’s left. They say this every night, and still always giggle at ‘I love you three.’
They drift off tangled in each other, completely exhausted but completely content.
It takes a village.

Teenagers Part 6
Harry Potter Marauders Era
Link to Part 5
Pairings: Regulus Black x Reader
Rating: M
________
The next day on the train, James was silent as the grave. After realizing just what you were going to do in the room of requirement with Regulus he had seemingly lost the ability to speak. Sirius, meanwhile, had come to the determination that Regulus was responsible and probably had enough sense to “use something.” After lying in the dark for a good amount of time the previous night Sirius decided that he was just going to butt out of the situation and pray that nothing bad would happen to you.
You seemed happy with Regulus and his brother, by the grace of God, seemed happier than he ever had since the day that he was born. Regulus was actually smiling and looking thrilled with life. He didn’t have that sour “I hate everyone” expression that Sirius was so used to seeing on his brother’s face.
Hopefully Reg will protect her from the cult. If not, well, I’ll step in then.
Sirius thought as Regulus shoved James out of his way. Regulus had one hand intertwined with yours as you hurried behind him.
“Out of the way, Potter.”
Regulus snapped, enjoying the dark look on James’ face as you shot your older brother a silent “sorry.”
“I should stomp your face in, Black.”
“Come, Reggie, just let it go.”
You said as the two of you disappeared into a compartment that included Evan Rosier. Evan smirked at James as if daring him to come in and say something snarky.
Arriving back in London, Sirius followed James off of the train. It had taken James about half the trip to calm down over the little encounter with Regulus earlier.
“I swear to Merin, I am going to have a long talk with mum and dad to see if they can get Y/n to break up with him. I don’t want Evan Rosier or any of those other trolls turning my lovely sister into a dark witch. It won’t happen. Nope. Won’t let it.”
Lily sighed. She was quickly getting sick of the awkwardness between James and yourself. Lily missed having you as a part of “the group.” It didn’t matter how many times that Lily, Dorcas, or Marlene begged you to come back (they even offered to invite Regulus too) to the group, you wouldn’t. You were still sweet as pie to them individually but it was as if the good feelings of friendship had vanished from everything.
“James, this has gone on long enough. You haven’t spoken to your sister in months. Like it or not, Y/n is still your sister and she’s happy. Can’t you just accept that?”
Lily asked in a pleading tone. James yanked his hand away before groaning and giving it back to Lily.
“How would you like it if Petunia dated Regulus?”
Lily smirked.
“We both know that won’t happen.”
“But what if?”
Lily sighed.
“I would try to be happy for her especially if she was happy.”
Lily replied, hoping that this would sway James. When he stopped walking and tilted his head to the side, both Lily and Sirius stopped too.
“Now I have fucking seen everything.”
James muttered as Lily and Sirius looked in the direction that James was staring in. You stood with Regulus talking to none other than Walburga and Orion Black. Sirius’ mouth dropped and had the sudden urge to run over and steal you with a shit-eating grin on his face. The cocky side was clearly present on Sirius' face but inside he was panicking. What if his mother tried to hurt you in front of all of these people? Would she be that bold? The better question was why the hell was she smiling and looking so...proud?
That was the last thing that Sirius ever expected to see on his mother’s face...a smile. She never smiled and if she did it was because she was making his life hell. Now here she stood talking to the daughter of who she considered “a blood traitor” smiling like an idiot as she talked away.
“I don’t believe this.”
Sirius commented. James nodded.
“Your mother knows how to smile. Of course, she is being nice since it's her little prince’s wish that she be kind to Y/n. If it was you, she would be throwing a raving tantrum.”
“Let's just go.”
Lily replied.
(meanwhile)
You stood talking to Walburga, who was being uncommonly kind to you. The moment that Regulus introduced you as his girlfriend she commented on what a pretty girl that you were and how she was pleased to see that her youngest son found such a nice girl. Even Orion commented on how nice you appeared to be and that they would be delighted for you to come to their family’s Christmas party.
“Y/n, there you are, sweetheart.”
You turned upon hearing your mother’s sweet voice. Walburga’s smile faded and the cold woman that Sirius described returned. Clearly, she was still fuming at your mother for “stealing her eldest son away.”
“Hi, mum.”
You said before hugging your mother than father. Your mother meanwhile, focused her attention on Walburga. She had noticed how Regulus’ quickly looked down at his feet and the sudden urge to try to take the youngest Black brother in returned full force.
“Walburga.”
She said in her pleasant casual tone. Walburga scowled as Orion reached down and grabbed her hand.
“Euphemia.”
She replied, coldly. Euphemia smiled as she watched you gently pet Regulus’ hand obviously trying to provide him some kind of comfort.
That’s my sweet girl.
Euphemia thought with a smile as she turned her attention back to Walburga.
“It seems that our children have taken a fancy for each other.”
Walburga nodded.
“Indeed. While you are here, Euphemia, I find this a fine opportunity to let you know that Regulus wishes for Y/n to come to our family’s Christmas party on the 23rd. We would love to have her.”
Euphemia’s normally kind smile faded and was suddenly replaced by a fearful one. Your mother reminded you of an overprotective mama bear that had been backed into a corner by some predator that wanted to eat her baby.
It was Regulus that spoke next. He quickly turned to Euphemia before his mother was able to speak.
“Mrs. Potter, may I speak with you alone?”
Euphemia nodded and followed Regulus a few feet away so she was out of earshot of Walburga and Orion.
“Yes, dear?”
Euphemia started as Regulus glanced over his shoulder. Walburga was giving him a questioning stare. He gave his mother a scowl until she turned back to you to start chatting again. Regulus had to thank Sirius for running away at the moment. Had he not bailed off, Regulus probably would have never been able to get Walburga under his thumb the way that he had. Now, if he wanted something, he would just tell his mother and she made it happen. If Regulus wanted a new broom….mother made it happen. A nice chocolate cake..all he had to say was how hungry he was. No longer did Walburga find using the cruciatus curse on “her baby” acceptable in the slightest. Regulus was the only heir that she had and he knew that she was aware of it.
“I know that you don’t trust my family, Mrs. Potter...and with good reason. I won’t let any harm come to Y/n. My mother has changed since you spoke with her last. I know how to control her and my father well. I love Y/n and I wouldn’t let anything happen to her.”
Euphemia gave Regulus a sad mother-like expression.
“I’m sure that you do, dear but I am afraid that my daughter won’t receive the same kind of care that she receives at home.”
Regulus looked down. He was silent for a moment as he decided upon his next move. Being “himself” probably wasn’t going to work. Maybe being pitiful would work in his favor?
“I understand your worry, Mrs. Potter. All that I am asking for is a chance. If anything bad starts...I promise to get her out of there right away.”
Euphemia couldn’t help but think of how Regulus reminded her of a puppy that had been kicked one too many times.
“I’ll think about it.”
She finally replied. This made Regulus give her a small smile.
“Thank you.”
Returning back to where Walburga and Orion stood watching like hawks, Euphemia gave the other mother a small nod.
“I’ll think about if Y/n will be able to come. We’ll have an answer for you by the end of the week.”
Walburga nodded, clearly surprised with whatever Regulus had “done.” She was expecting to have to find some secretive way to get you to be able to come. If Regulus wanted his girlfriend at the party then she would find a way to get you there.
“Very well.”
Euphemia turned back to you with a sweet smile.
“Sweetheart, we need to be going. Your father is probably ready to go.”
You nodded before turning back to Regulus. This was the moment that you were dreading. You didn’t want to say goodbye for a few weeks. Since the two of you started dating, you hadn’t had many moments apart. Now here were a few weeks with no promise that your mother would even consider letting you go to the Black family’s home for the party.
“I’ll see you soon.”
Regulus softly said as his parents turned away to give the two of you a moment of privacy. What Regulus didn’t see was Walburga was watching the whole thing out of the corner of her eye. She couldn’t help but smile at how gentle Regulus seemed to be with you. The expression on his face was so different from the “Black family scowl” that he wore so well.
You, meanwhile, nodded as Regulus gently tilted your face to his before leaning down and giving you a soft kiss.
“I’ll miss you.”
You whispered. Regulus smiled.
“It's only a few weeks. I’ll write to you every day.”
You felt better with that promise before turning and going to join your mother. Euphemia wrapped her arm around your shoulder before guiding you off in the direction of your father and brother.
Over the next few days, both Euphemia and Fleamont realized how truly broken your relationship with James seemed to be. Both mother and father attempted to talk to James about how his behavior was appalling and that he needed to be a “big brother” and support you. James, however, wasn’t receptive.
“You are going to regret losing this year with Y/n, James. You will be graduating Hogwarts in a few months and will not see Y/n every day.”
Euphemia tried. James sat with his arms crossed over his chest as Fleamont decided to try his turn.
“Your mother is right, son. You have been so close with Y/n from the day that she was born. Do you really want to risk losing this closeness over a boy?”
James finally decided to speak. Sure, his parents were right. He was losing a lot of time with you and he knew it but that didn’t mean that he had to be happy about the relationship.
“I don’t like that boy and he will do nothing but hurt her. I want no part in witnessing it. Maybe you should talk to Y/n about birth control because all those two do is snog.”
James decided to at least leave out the fact that he was aware that you had given Regulus your v-card. He figured that his parents could put that part together themselves. Judging by how both Euphemia and Fleamont seemed surprised over said snogging, they would probably die knowing that their only daughter had her legs spread for a boy already. James wasn’t sure if he could even get the words out to tell them. Maybe some things were better left unsaid?
(2 days later)
You sat on the couch watching the muggle television that your father decided to purchase. It had been two days and you had already received four letters from Regulus. He seemed to be missing you as much as you were missing him. You smiled down at the latest letter on your lap where Regulus was fussing about his mother driving him nuts over a new suit for the Christmas party.
“Y/n, sweetheart?”
You looked up as Euphemia walked into the room.
“Hi, mum.”
You replied as she sat down beside you. She picked up the remote and pointed it to the TV (backward) to turn it off. You watched with a smile as she fussed over the remote before reaching out and showing her what to do.
“I hate this silly thing. I think that I am too old to be learning about these new things.”
Euphemia started as she looked at you carefully. She had been planning this talk since her conversation with James. It was going to be difficult for sure but certain things needed to be said before she became a grandmother earlier than planned.
“I think that we needed to have a mummy and daughter talk.”
You nodded, having a weird feeling about where this was going.
“Okay.”
Euphemia took a few breaths before speaking.
“It seems that Regulus is really taken with you.”
You nodded, twisting the ring that he had given you months ago. How were you supposed to tell your old fashioned mother that you were madly in love with the boy and felt like you were dying without him? The better question was when did you turn into such a lovesick “Mary Sue?”
“I love him, mother.”
Euphemia couldn’t help but smile.
“He told me that he loves you too. As your mum, I have a few things that I would like to say about that. First, I am thrilled that you are so happy. Your happiness is very important to your father and I. The two of you are darling together. This Christmas party...is it important to you?”
You decided to seize this moment to get what you wanted.
“It is. Mum, I know that you are worried about Mrs. Black and I totally understand why. I am still bothered at how Sirius was when he came to us...you know how much I love Sirius. I love him just as I do James. I don’t, however, think that Regulus would let her nor anyone else harm me.”
Euphemia sighed. This was harder than she expected. As much as she wanted you to be happy not worrying about Walburga wasn’t something that she could just “turn off.”
“Your father and I have decided to let you go. I suppose that we should find you a new dress to wear. We can go shopping tomorrow if you would like?”
You almost jumped off of the couch with this little bit of information. Never in a million years, did you expect your mum and dad to agree to let you go. You had a bad feeling that they were going to say no (especially when James and Sirius put in their input).
“Really? Mum, thank you so much! I would love for us to go shopping together.”
Euphemia reached out and took your hand into hers. She ran her thumb over each of your knuckles.
“I noticed that Regulus has your locket around his neck.”
You blushed at that before holding your left hand out that had his ring on it. “We kind of traded.”
Euphemia wanted to cry at the sight of the Black family ring on your hand. Maybe this relationship was a lot more serious than she expected? Possibly, Regulus was the one? Euphemia suddenly had the feeling that she and Walburga would be dealing with each other for the rest of their natural lives.
“Your father and I did something like that when we started dating. Y/n, this is going to be the awkward part for both of us. I realize now how serious this relationship is. Maybe we should consider putting you on some form of birth control.”
You winced.
“Mum…”
Euphemia shook her head.
“Let me finish. Y/n, I’m old. I’ve been around for a while and know how hormones work. I am only wanting to protect you. You are a very responsible girl but if the two of you should want to sleep together...I want to make sure that you are safe.”
You blushed, knowing the next statement was going to be a real shock for Euphemia to hear.
“We did use something.”
Euphemia’s face went pale upon hearing that. She blinked a few times before fanning her face.
“Already? You used something?”
You closed your eyes nodding.
“Yes, mum. There are spells...all kinds of charms but if you want to go to your...your….”
Why was it so awkward to talk to your mother about sex? Maybe it was because the two of you had never really had this kind of conversation before? Sure, there was the initial talk about “how sex” happened and that was painful enough. Both James and yourself were wincing and blushing the whole time. It was as painful for Fleamont and Euphemia as it was for their children.
“Gynecologist?”
Euphemia finished your sentence as you blushed harder. You could only nod as your mother considered her next sentence.
“Yes, Y/n. I think that is a good idea. For the time being, let’s keep this between us. There are some things that your father and brother don’t need to know.”

For anyone who's interested, this is my complete recap of Riverdale 6x02 'Ghost Stories.
I have the largest cup of coffee in front of me, I don't even know how much caffeine I'm about to put into my body, but that's ok. Considering that I don't think I'll ever be in a much more relaxed state of mind to write this recap, I might as well start now. I took notes during the episode so I should be able to go in a chronological order of sorts. Under the cut. (And I'm apologizing in advance for being wordy. Thank you to whoever has the stomach and courage to read till the end LOL)
Definitely digging the whole Jug narration thing so far. Is it weird to have him talk to the camera (=to the audience)? Yes, but that's the effect it should have. Seeing him walk in the middle of a gang fight in his Pop's uniform was priceless.
I feel bad for Toni. Though I have to say the kid was nice and the Romeo&Juliet vibe of the story between the Ghoulies prince and the Serpent Princess was cute. Though I have to ask myself: WHO the hell ar the King and Queen of the Serpents in RiverVale? Because Toni and Fangs clearly are not. This is one of the million things that I'm sure will remain undisclosed. What's new?
One of the themes, shall I say the main theme, for this episode was the relationship between parents and theur children. Reggie and Toni's stories were so touching and moving. I never really liked Reggie that much, but it's impossible not to feel sad for him now. Apparently his dad is abusive in both universes, which is tragic. That man is a wreck. Veronica was supportive and caring, which is not unusual for her, but then they had to fuel the drama with that ex teacher plot and well we all saw how it went. Cheryl being a mama bear to Juniper and Dagwood was so good. Dagwood mentions 'mommy', why? We have to assume he saw La Llorona trapping Juniper in the bathroom, and think the ghost was Polly? Another unsolved mystery. Betty also mentions Polly when she's deciding which names she could choose for her baby, so it's clear Polly is dead in both universes. STRIKE 1: Jug finally shows signs of excitement towards his newfound writing nook (could be a positive trigger and motivation to start writing again!). Tabitha's reaction: looking dubious if not mildly annoyed. Also, it's clear that Sam & Diane look physically similar to Jug and Tabitha. Mid-twenties, beautiful, problematic. But the she kills him with a hammer because he's absorbed by his work. Yep, similarities. PS: Tabs is a terrible nickname.
Tabitha has been a pain in the ass for 2 minutes straight with that damn toothpaste! She's insufferable. God! It's obvious she hasn't lived with a man before. Girl, cohabitating is a matter of compromise and acceptance. If you're not willing to accept and/or compromise, your relationship is doomed. If I had to throw a hammer at my BF each time he misplaced something, left the toothpaste uncapped or ignored me when I asked him to do something I'd be in jail facing a life sentence, okay? Jug doesn't look happy, either. It's not fun when you get constantly reprimanded.
She then proceeds to bluedgeon him to death. It was a nightmare, of course, but it doesn't change the fact that she feels neglected and not happy about who Jughead really is. She understands hard work and he's a creative mind.
Veronica and Hermosa scene was so hylarious. I mean I think it's a bit odd to ask your sister for advice on men, when you've basically been hooking up with the same man. Please, since Tabitha didn't let Jug finish his dissertation - you know, because she had to bash on him for not doing what she thought he should do and proceeding to subtly accusing him of drinking again - on bottled ships, can someone tell me HOW you get a ship into a bottle??
The part with Betty and La Llorona scared me, I'm not gonna lie. I'm not a mother, but I know for a fact that I would cringe if someone touched by belly without my consent, so that got me. Oh, also, Betty is sleeping in her own bed, not living in the house of her 'beloved' Archie. Also she doesn't look devastated for her miscarriage/hysterical pregnancy (is Dr Curdle even able to run a simple blood test?).
STRIKE 2: Jughead being excited about getting his well of creativity full again and writing again. Tabitha's reaction: looking dubious. Betty? Betty would have jumped at the idea of Jughead being finally in the right mindset to write again, because she KNOWS how vital it is for him to write. Writing (and setting things on fire LOL) is the most important thing for him.
"When can I read it?" "Ah, not just yet. I don't really let anyone read my vomit drafts, like, ever." That's a BIG, FAT LIE, my dear Juggie. Betty was always the first to read his drafts and we all know that. And he would never say 'not' to Betty, because he values her genuine and honest opinion.
Tabitha's face when Betty tells her she always read his drafts. Aww, there's nothing more satisfying that the expression on Tabitha's face. Jughead will never open up to her the way he did with Betty. You gotta know when there's HISTORY between two people.
Miss Soprano=Miss Grundy Nice, another child predator. And the argument got dropped so quickly that my head was spinning.
Enough wth this 'baby Anthony' crap? Can we just call the baby 'the baby' or 'Anthony'? Please? It's becoming a joke. Then we finally get to the seance scene where we learn who La Llorona really is and the motivation behind her behavior. It's similar to the story in episode 1x01 of 'Supernatural' but not quite. I liked it, anyway. And of course Darla Dickinson is being a bitch. She's a bitch in whatever universe you put her in. It's in her genes LOL But now we get to the most annoying and enraging scene of the whole episode and, for me, since the Bughead breakup in 5x03. Tabitha having no boundaries and invading Jug's privacy to read his manuscript, when he's specifically told her he wasn't comfortable with people reading his drafts. And it's not even the first time she's done this, remember? She read his manuscript back in S5, with Betty and then proceeded to give said manuscript to his ex girlfriend Jessica out of some so-called feminism-solidarity. Bullshit. She believed Jessica's words and decided Jughead was a potential asshole disrespecting women in his books. Then she's all 'I do this, I do that. Me. Me. Me.', when the clear subtext is she believes Jughead is a time-waster loser that can't provide sustenance to their household. I think she should have stayed in Chicago and become a CEO. Props to Erinn, because I think she slayed this particular scene. I could feel the anger and resentment. But, this doesn't change the fact that she broke Jughead's most valuable and precious of his belongings: the vintage Underwood that Betty got him for Christmas ages ago. And "screw your writing, too"? Screw you, Tabitha! I'm not gonna sit here and hear you say 'I love you' just because you have to compensate for your actions, which were WRONG. And I know people are gonna say she was possessed. Se was not. Maybe the ghosts' presence fueled her feelings, but she is genuinely angry with Jughead because she thinks he doesn't do his part oin their relationhip. She resents him because he's not earning any money and contributing to pay rent and bills. Which is true, JUghead is technocally broke and jobless, but she knew that before asking him to move in together, right? Right. At this point, since RAS did everything, literally everything, in his power to make me dislike Tabitha, I'm not even a bit sorry for her. I can't.
I've heard less cringy I love yous. Chemistry was NONEXISTENT. I dare you to prove me wrong. Remember THIS?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was romantic, heartfelt and genuine. Jabitha 'ILY' scene was awkward, wrong and lacking any emotion.
Thing is, Tabitha doesn't KNOW who Jughead is. She doesn't know his past, what he's been through. And I'm not talking about his addiction. The guy has baggage and scars and he's not perfect. Same goes for Jughead.
The audacuty RAS has to force us to believe that Tabitha and Jughead are SO IN LOVE is nauseating.
I wasn't expecting Toni to become the new La Llorona, but it makes sense considering she's willing to sacrifice her life for her kid. I just wonder what Cheryl's gonna do when she knows Toni technically died. But, we don't even know if they were ever together in Rivervale, so maybe she doesn't care that much. This universe is so twisted. POSITIVE NOTES:
- Archie isn't mentioned, aside from Cheryl and Nana Rose cheering at his departure LOL
- Jughead is writing again, thank GOD! I missed his creative side so much. Also, he's not drinking anymore, (so I have to assume his addiction was true in both universes? How nice of the writers to picture him as an addict, again). - Dr Curdle doesn't know how to perform a simple blood test. I'm sorry if this was a crazy, disjointed and overall resentful recap, but that's because I'm angry and sad and fuck the Bughead crumbs! We deserve so much better. Better writing, better storylines. And respect.

The Rainbow Brigade Goes To Pride
Julie giggled into the microphone as she watched her best friends jump and dance along to their song, draping an arm around her boyfriend's shoulder as they belted the outro and Bright ended.
"Yes! That was amazing!" Flynn grinned, always the one to hype up their best friend.
"But was it 'performing at a cafe' amazing, or 'performing at tomorrow's Pride parade' amazing?" Julie asked, and Luke rolled his eyes fondly and reached up to tuck a curl behind Julie's ear.
"Definitely 'Pride parade' amazing, estrella." He promised her and pressed a kiss to her cheek.
Julie blushed and scrunched her nose as Alex, Reggie, Bobby, Willie, Nick, Carrie and the Dirty Candy crew immediately agreed.
"I'm a much harsher judge than your darling Luke, and I can confirm it was flawless." Carrie assured Julie with a grin.
Julie chuckled fondly and shook her head, rolling her eyes. "If you all insist."
"We do. Now," Willie clapped their hands, clasping them together. "I request to hear Now Or Never."
"Ooh, I second the request!" Carrie nodded.
"Third!"
"Fourth!"
"Your wish is our command." Luke smiled and Alex counted to start the song, everyone smiling as Ray walked in with a snack and water tray.
"Hey, kids."
"Hi, Mr. Molina!"
"Hi, papa!"
Ray grinned as he walked through the door in time to catch a song and leaned against the wall, lip syncing along.
Julie and the boys rehearsed the song and stopped for a water break, chatting about how excited they all were to be performing at something as big as a Pride parade. It was a pretty damn huge thing for everyone.
No one slept that night, too wired to even think about it.
Julie grinned as she looked up and turned off her phone alarm, running to open Carlos and her parents' bedroom doors. "Happy Pride!" She grinned as she ran back to her room and opened her laptop to Zoom. Soon, she had Flynn, Willie, Nick, Carrie, her girls, and her boys on screen as she ran to grab her hair products. "Hey, my people!"
"Hey, superstar! Boys. Rapunzel. Blond Troy Bolton. Twilight Sparkle. Biliam. Flynnigan. Candy Stripers." Luke grinned and blew a kiss, in the middle of changing into his POISON t shirt.
"Hey, Julianna! Lucas. Alexander. Robert. William. Nicholas. Caroline. Flynnie. Crew." Reggie grinned as he combed his hair and waved.
"Hi, Julie! Ladies. Love of my life. Boys. Willie-boo." Carrie grinned as she brushed her wig out to re-curl it later.
"Hey, Jules! Sweets. Gigi. Lexi. Lulu. Chaos crew." Bobby winked as he sprayed on deodorant.
"Hi, Julie! Candy canes. Boys. Partners in crime." Flynn smiled, braiding pink, white and orange ribbon into their hair.
"Hello, Julie. Luke. Reginald. Bobbles. Flynn-tastic. Care-bear. Nicky. Honeybunch. Candy fruits." Alex smiled before downing a glass of orange juice.
"Hey, Julie! Hot dog. PeterPatter. Chaos siblings. Sweethearts." Willie waved, braiding rainbow ribbons into his hair.
"Julie. Ladies. Boys. Enby buds." Nick waved, combing his hair.
"Julie. Ladies. Men. Non-binary friends." Kayla blew a kiss, popping a gummy vitamin in her mouth.
"Hi, Julie! Candy crew. Chaos children." Halle grinned, brushing the bangs of her wig.
"Hey, my darlings!" Sofia grinned, waving as she nibbled on her toast.
"Hi, gayngels!" Kyra giggled, flipping her pancakes.
"How are the members of The Rainbow Brigade on this fine day, my loves?" Julie asked as she combed her curls. She laughed as everyone started to answer the question at the same time, resuming her hair combing.
"All good here, Julie." Flynn answered once she stopped giggling.
"Here as well." Willie gave a thumbs up.
"Almost perfect but I'm all out of eyeliner." Reggie pouted.
"Oh, no! You can use mine, then." Julie promised.
"Sweet! Thanks, Jules." Reggie grinned gratefully.
"About as good as it's gonna get in the Patterson household." Luke shrugged. "Sparkle, Bobble?"
"All is well in the Wilson mansion, loves." Carrie grinned, looking up when she heard a knock on the door. "Yeah, daddy?" She asked once she opened it.
"Hi, baby. Hi, kids!" Trevor grinned and waved.
"Hi, Mr. Wilson!" Julie called and everyone else followed.
"So remind me of the carpooling situation?"
"Oh, we're gonna pick up my girls and Luke, Alex, and Reggie since their parents still dislike Luke and Bobby for 'corrupting their babies' and Nick only has room in his car to pick up Flynn and Willie and we're all going to Julie's to get ready together."
"Oh, ok. I'm gonna go pack all our bags with snacks and water, then. Breakfast is almost ready downstairs." Trevor smiled, walking out with a peace sign.
"Thanks for the ride, by the way." Reggie smiled.
"Hey, anything for my Gigi." Bobby promised.
Julie giggled, bringing her laptop downstairs to the kitchen where everyone was eating breakfast. "Hey, Carlos. Mom, dad! Say hey to the rainbow brigade!"
"Hey, brigade!"
"Hey, mijos, mijas." Ray grinned.
"Hey, babies!" Rose blew a quick kiss.
"Hi, Carlos! Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Molina! Looking good as always!"
"Thank you, Carrie. Julie, do you want some eggs? They're scrambled."
"Ooh, yes please." Julie nodded and then a plate of eggs, toast and pancakes appeared in front of her. "Gracias, mama."
"Mind saving some eggs for me, amor?"
"Always, cariño."
Luke smiled appreciatively and blushed. "I love you."
Julie smiled, scrunching her nose. "I love you, too."
"Hey, hey. Keep your nauseating adorable-ness to your private Skype sessions." Reggie pretended to gag.
Carrie scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Like you and my brother don't act the same way." She pointed out.
"So do you and Flynn!" Willie accused.
"Willie, so do you and Lexi!" Flynn laughed.
"I would like to point out that so do Halle and Sofia." Nick chimed in.
"True." Kayla nodded in agreement.
"OK, anyone coming over for dinner tonight, niños? I'm making my famous pastelon!" Rose piped up as she appeared next to Julie and wrapped an arm around her, the both of them laughing.
Flynn raised a hand immediately. "Ooh, I'm in! Mom said she's gonna try another duck recipe and my stomach can't take that."
"Me, too!" Alex nodded.
"Noted." Julie nodded.
"Bobins, Care-bear, can I go to your place tonight? I'm not feeling up to week-old left overs." Reggie asked.
Bobby opened his door and poked his head out. "Dad, can Reggie come for dinner tonight? ...OK!" He closed the door with a smile. "Yup."
The group laughed as they chatted and ate their breakfasts, moving their conversation to the group chat as the others made their ways to the Molina household. The groups piled out of their cars and headed inside, greeting Julie and her family with tight hugs.
"Hey, my love." Luke said in a gentle voice and pressed a kiss to her forehead, making Julie blush and scrunch her nose.
"Hi, Lucas." Julie said softly and kissed his lips, giggling against him when she heard fake gags from Alex and Reggie. "Hi, Lexi-love. Reggie boo." She said as she wrapped her arms around them, taking their bags of clothes.
"Here's your eggs, mijo."
Luke grinned as Ray presented him a plate of eggs and some waffles as a treat. "Thank you." He nodded and started eating, leaning against a wall.
"Do I see new earrings, Mrs. Molina?" Carrie asked with a grin.
"Uh-huh. You like them?" Rose grinned, showing off her turquoise earrings.
"Love! They're so pretty!" Carrie nodded.
Julie smiled as she looked around and watched her family and her found family get along so well, joking and laughing with each other. She leaned her head onto Flynn's shoulder, her smile growing when Flynn wrapped an arm around her. "Having a good time, Flynnie?"
"Absolute blast."
After Luke finished his eggs, the group stampeded upstairs and formed a line to the bathroom to change into their Pride outfits. One by one, the brigade stepped in and out in new outfits and walked to the garage to have more room to start doing their make up.
Julie hummed as she and Reggie did their eyeliner next to each other, half listening to the boys talking about how cool it was that they were singing certain songs together for the first time.
"Sunset Curve's fans are gonna get to hear our oldest hits belted out by a little wrecking ball of talent, boys! It's only the single most exciting and awesome thing that can possibly happen!" Luke bragged in excitement, huffing as he was held down in his chair and Flynn and Carrie were glittering up his face.
"I know! Dude, it's so cool!" Alex nodded, glittering up his own face. "And it's even better that it's a- Kayla, your left wing's bigger." He interrupted himself to point to Kayla's make up. "A Pride parade!"
"Oh, shoot. Thanks, Lexi." Kayla smiled and proceeded to fix it with concealer.
"And you're totally gonna come out of this with new fans, too! Think of all the people that are gonna film it for YouTube and so many people are going to watch!" Willie gushed.
"I know!" Bobby nodded and pressed a kiss to Reggie's cheek, applying black eye shadow to his eyes.
"And imagine how much Dirty Candy are gonna love watching you all sing at Pride, too!" Julie grinned. "Maybe then they'll get the whole sparkly rainbow costumes thing."
"Oh, yeah!" The group laughed as they finished glittering up and fixing wigs, and piled into their cars to go to the parade.
Dirty Candy performed a few of their favorite self love songs to the crowd and gave a few speeches about self love, acceptance and Pride to the crowd, getting the response of cheers and pride flags thrown their ways. The girls individually thanked the crowd, and Carrie glanced off stage toward Sunset Curve before announcing the next artist. "And now, a group that always has been and always will be very special to me and my girls, and not just because they're our best friends... Sunset Curve!"
The crowd erupted in screams as the girls stepped off to let the band take the stage, and Luke smiled at them, giving a playful wink to a few boys and girls in the front holding bi and pan pride flags.
"Hi, everybody! Happy Pride month!" Julie greeted, her pink, purple and blue dress sparkling in the sunlight. "How about our girls, Dirty Candy, huh?" She chuckled as the crowd screamed in agreement and glanced at Bobby, who just smiled.
"The pink one is my sister."
"And they are too powerful together." Luke joked.
"They're so much to handle." Reggie complained with a smile.
"You say that like you and Julie aren't a lot." Alex deadpanned.
Julie laughed and shook her head. "Ok, ok. Enough joking. So our first song of the day is called Edge Of Great." She announced, and the crowd screamed and started to throw flags as she sang the intro. As the boys joined in the chorus, Julie hopped and ran around, laughing and joking with the boys.
Reggie and Bobby laughed as Julie hopped around them and draped bi and ace flags around their necks.
Julie giggled and bopped their noses, skipping off to share the mic with Luke. She kissed him at the end of the song and smiled when the crowd started chanting their ship name, leaning her head on his neck. "Yeah, yeah. We get it. We're cute." She joked and Luke cackled.
"You are pretty cute." Alex agreed with a shrug.
Julie snickered and blew a kiss to Alex who threw one back and sighed, giving Luke another kiss on the cheek before launching into a speech about pride featuring comments here and there from the boys. "Boys, what do you say to Stand Tall?" She asked.
"I say yes."
"Definitely."
"Absolutely."
"Obviously."
"Well, that's a unanimous yes!" Julie announced and headed to the piano to play the song. She smiled as she played one of her favorite songs, skipping her way toward Alex as his solo came up. She draped a rainbow flag over his shoulders like a cape and kissed his cheek.
Alex whispered a quick "Love you, Julie." in her ear and she whispered "I love you." back, tapping his cheek before the group nailed the high note.
They sang the final chorus and this time it was Luke who kicked off a speech about doing what makes you happy, with Julie making a comment about Alex dating Willie even with his staunch Christian parents.
"Willie's actually here today. He's right over there." Julie pointed a thumb in the direction of Willie who blew a kiss at Alex. "Alex's parents aren't great, but Willie's grandparents are pretty cool." She chuckled.
"And that's Julie's best friend and Carrie's girlfriend, Flynn is right next to him." Reggie piped up. "Hey, Flynn."
Julie beamed as she walked toward Bobby and put an arm around him. "So this is a song is one that my boys wrote together, before I came into the picture, that they have so graciously transposed into my key so we can all sing it together-"
"Because we love you!" Bobby interrupted.
"And your voice is incredible!" Alex yelled.
"And we wanted to include you!" Luke insisted.
"Yeah, what they said. Love you, Julie." Reggie grinned.
"I love you, too." Julie grinned, looking back at her boys. "So that we can sing it together because of what it means to all of us. It's all about being free and being yourself. It's about having pride in who you are. It's called Finally Free."
The crowd erupted in cheers as Julie started to sing, leaning her head on Bobby's shoulder. She looked up as they hit the chorus and sprinted toward Luke, singing to him as Reggie shared Bobby's mic.
They sang through a few more Sunset Curve songs, the crowd screaming along to every one of them with speeches thrown in between a few songs, before it was nearly time to go. "Our last song of the day-" Julie cut herself off to giggle as the crowd awww'd and booed at her words, shaking her head. "I know! I know! We're sad about it, too." She joked and pouted. "Our last song is very special to me and my boys. It's about going for what you want, dreaming your dreams, and living. Like. It's Now Or Never."
Boos turned into cheers as the band started to play the song and Luke and Julie sang the opening lyrics together, the both of them looking up when they felt raindrops. They looked at each other with twin smirks and nodded, kicking and jumping into the puddles.
Julie giggled as she kicked a puddle in Reggie's direction and he laughed and kicked it back at her, neither of them caring about their make up or body glitter anymore.
Alex laughed through singing his harmonies with the boys, the rainwater bouncing off his drums with every hit.
Bobby and Reggie were once again sharing a microphone as they kicked puddles in Alex's direction and shook the water from their hair, glitter falling away with the water drops.
Luke laughed as he ran toward Alex's drums set and jumped onto the drum platform, wagging his tongue at his best friend.
Julie giggled as she hopped in a puddle and belted out her new solo of a second pre-chorus, bouncing her way toward Bobby while Reggie and Luke ran toward Alex.
Bobby chuckled as he and Julie did their new dance, specially choreographed just for them to do during Alex and Reggie's solos in Now Or Never: Hop twice, left step back, right step back, right step forward, hop once, high five.
Julie whooped as Reggie shouted the lyric about singing in the rain, and held her microphone out to the crowd to sing with her, holding up a fist as everyone screamed the final chorus. She sang the final line in harmony with the boys and the crowd cheered as they waved and took each other's hands, running off stage. She ran straight into the arms of her family, mentally placing this day up high in The Top Ten Best Days Of Her Life.

Full Masterlist Legend Masterlist
Pairing: Reggie Kray x Fem!Pregnant Reader
Summary: Ian and Teddy Poked the bear…
Warnings: pregnancy, fighting, arguing, insults, crying, scratch, smoking, alcohol!!!(please tell me if i missed any!!!)
Ian and ted loved to 'poke the mama bear' but took it a step too far.
"Hello y/n/n" Ron smiled as he walked into the Esmeraldas barn.
You smiled and walked over to them and sat down at the booth they was in.
They put their cigars out and waved the smoke away.
"Hey ronnie, what you been up to?" You smiled Ann he shrugged his shoulders.
"Mh..not much we've been trying to read what paynes saying" Ron said as he looked over to Payne.
"Ah, well as I walked past it sounds like he's talking about tax payments" you shrugged as you grabbed a breadstick.
"Your getting bigger eh?" Teddy half joked and you shrugged a laugh as you held your bump that was indeed getting bigger.
"I can barely get up now..." you giggled as you chewed on another breadstick.
"Are you sure it's now triplets?" Ian laughed and it kinda hurt, you didn't know Ian that well so it was kind of an insult then a joke.
Teddy stifled a laugh but Ron didn't.
You didn't say anything until he piped up again.
"Maybe quadruplets eh?" He laughed even harder as he pointed to the breadstick you was about to eat.
You got kinda sad, you had already been insecure about how big you was getting and this just kinda made it feel real?.
You put the breadstick back down and Teddy didn't laugh this time.
"God it was just a joke! Ugh women eh? So over reactive" Ian moaned to Teddy and Ron but they ignored him.
And that was when Reggie came out of his office and was talking to Payne.
You tried to stand up to go over to him but you had to push yourself up with the arms of the chair.
You was out of breath just by that and then Ian piped up again.
"God you can't even stand up" he chuckled and you lost it.
"Shut up!" You half shouted at him and it took Teddy by surprise.
"God i was jokin! Mood swings..." he said looking at Ron and ted expecting them to laugh but they didn't.
"I may have mood swings! And I may be big! But I am not taking your bullshit!" You yelled at him.
"Don't talk to me that way! Your a pathetic women! You should be at home!" He yelled and you gasped at how obnoxious he was being.
"That's right! You shouldn't even be here! All your for is to make babies! To carry on us men's legacy." He spat at you and you was furious.
So you slapped him. And you didn't regret it one bit.
You slapped him across the face so hard he fell into teddy.
"Woah!" Teddy said as he held his hands up to push Ian away from him.
And that's when Ian stood up again and lunged at you and he managed to only scratch your arm but Ron stopped him.
"Don't.fuckin.touch.her.you cunt." Ron said as he punched him between every word.
"Oi! What's going on!" Reggie said as he rushed over trying to stop Ron.
And that's when he saw Teddy holding you away from Ian,
"What the fucks goin on?!" Reggie yelled and Ron finally stopped punching Ian.
"Eh?" Reggie said looking at Ron,Ian and Teddy.
And nobody spoke up except Teddy.
"Ian tried to uh- hurt y/n reg.."  teddy said as he held your arm holding it away from reg, because you both knew if he saw it he'd go mad.
"What? Are you alright?" He asked you and you nodded.
"Pat. Take him out." Reggie ordered angrily as he headed over to you and held you close to him.
Taking you into his office.
""Doll what happened?" Reg asked you as he held you close to him.
"I- well he was saying loads of shit to me. He said I was an over reactive, pathetic women who shouldn't even be here, and then he said I was only here to have your babies and continue a man's 'legacy' " you said trying to hold back your tears.
"Oh and he said. 'Are you sure you're not having quadruplets' " you said now crying.
Reggie was beyond furious. He was seeing red. He felt every nerve end in him was on fire.
But he still held back to look after you first.
"And then he lunged at me and he only scratched me but-" you rambled on wiping away your tears.
"What"
Reggie said as he then began looking over your body until his eyes landed on the scratch in your arm.
Reggie's head was racing with thoughts.
I'm gonna kill him.
Are you alright?
He tried to hurt a pregnant woman. Especially you.
I'm gonna fucking kill him.
"Are you alright?" He asked you and you nodded, it didn't hurt it was only a little scratch but reg was still furious.
"Stay here Kay?" Reggie said as he gave you a kiss on the head and stroking your bump.
"What are you gonna go?" You asked and he stopped.
"Don't worry, just stay here"
"Don't go bat shit crazy…I just wanna go hom-”
you said tiredly before cutting yourself off.
You could feel the twins kicking you in the ribs making you groan.
“Woah are you okay?” Reggie said rushing over to you, and helping you sit down on one of his chairs.
“Mhm I’m fine just a double kick to the ribs thas all’ you winced as you held into Reggie’s hand.
“Can we please just go home” you said and he nodded helping you up, holding your bump and the small of your back protectively.
Reggie lead you out of his office and held the door open for you, “Oi! Payne! This is tomorrow’s business do ya understand!” Reggie said as we left his club.
“Can you tell Ronnie and Teddy I said thank you” you said to reg and he nodded hiding a little smile.
“I will doll, you feeling alright?” He asked you and you nodded.
“Mhm, the twins have calmed down now” you giggled as you felt a light kick where Reggie’s hand was making him smile ear to ear.
The next day Reggie didn’t kill Ian but he did give him a ‘physical threat’

Family Headcanons-- Vol 2. Quinn and Michelle's Kids
Tumblr media
The second in my series of next generation profiles-- this time featuring Michelle and Quinn's children; Isla and Conor.
Tumblr media
Isla (about 19) and Conor (about 15)
Isla Quy Nguyen-Kelly
Isla is Michelle and Quinn's first child, born in February 2027. Quinn had became close to Isla’s birth mother, who suffered from Rotterdam’s, through her charity work. With the mother despairing at whether she’d even survive the baby’s first month, Quinn and Michelle promised to raise her as their own. To everyone’s immense relief, the unplanned infant tested negatively for the illness in utero. Isla's birth mother dies shortly after the birth, but has a chance to briefly hold the baby. Naturally, the scenario disturbs many old wounds in Quinn, and the first year of Isla's life leads her to work through many long-buried traumas over long hours spent soothing the infant. As the first grandchild on both sides of the family, Isla is, naturally, doted upon. Raised in the US with her loving mothers, Isla enjoys several holidays to San Trobida during her childhood, and catches the travel bug early. She's yet to visit anywhere quite as cool as La Huerta.
Isla is confident and gregarious, happiest in a crowd. She tends to be domineering, in the compassionate manner of frustrated parent. When the Catalyst kids get together on La Huerta, it is always Isla who takes charge-- even over Reggie and Liv who are several years her senior. She’s not afraid to force bandages onto Liv’s many cuts and scrapes– and even Liv isn’t brave enough to stop her when she gets going. She could probably talk the hind leg off a donkey.
Into adulthood: After studying at Hartfeld just like her Mom and Mama, Isla takes up a career in journalistic and non-fiction writing. With a little help from Diego, she translates everything she writes into Vaanti so that all her friends can best enjoy it. There is a possibility that access to interview the likes of Condors star Sean Gayle and culinary superstar Raj Bhandarkar helped give her career a leg up... but she's pretty darn good in her own right. All she needed to do was translate her constant verbal onslaught into the written word. She meets husband Alex on her travels, and they zip around the world together until settling down-- at least for a while-- with their twin boys Jordan Huan and James Kai, and later their daughter Lilei Jennifer. Isla has many globe-trotting adventures with her family planned.
Conor Bien Nguyen-Kelly
Conor is born in September 2031, fulfilling what was once an impossible dream for Quinn-- to carry a baby. He's conceived using an anonymous donor, and doesn't really show much interest in finding out much regarding that side of his genetic tree until his twenties. Some four and a half years younger than his sister, Conor is very much treated as 'the baby' for the length of his childhood, especially by often over-bearing Isla. By the time he comes on the scene, the Catalyst group has children basically coming out of their ears, so he is never short on playmates.
Brimming with energy and good humour, Conor quickly found himself nicknamed 'Tigger' by his Uncle Jake, and he lives up to it. There are frequently jokes made that his mystery sire must have been a bull in a China shop. Having a doctor for a mom is very handy when a kid is as prone to falling out of trees as Conor is. It is a rare occasion that a young Conor is not covered in mud, or bruises, or both. He is incredibly sweet and well-meaning, without a nasty bone in his body, but is about as clumsy with tact as he is with watching where he's going... which is to say, very much so. Thankfully, his knack for putting smiles on people's faces tends to mitigate most of the damage.
Into adulthood: Like Isla, Conor goes on to study at Hartfeld. That is... until one particular La Huerta reunion in which he and Michael Mckenzie Gayle run off for a couple days' snow adventure and return to Catalyst Village as boyfriends. With his typical lack of forethought, Conor packs up and joins Michael in San Trobida, and it all works out. Being happiest in the great outdoors, Conor finds himself right at home in a country full of tropical wilderness. He sets up a business running tourist charters around San Trobida's coast. Conor marries Michael, both in a Vaanti hand-fasting, and legally in San Trobida, and together they have two daughters, Sadie Alora and Eden Maeve.

Happy New Year!
I wrote a little New Year’s Eve one shot.  It’s below the cut or you can read it on AO3 here.  (I’ve started a collection of short pieces just to keep things tidy.) I hope you are all able to celebrate safely and I wish you a healthy and happy 2021.
It was obvious that the party was going off the rails as soon as Archie started lining up shots along the whole length of the marble counter top.  He called Reggie out and Reggie never backed down from a challenge to his machismo so they both worked their way along the little bullets of stupid until, breathless and belly laughing, they slid to the floor, their eyes swivelling in their dumb skulls like cartoon coyotes that had just been smashed over the head with an Acme anvil.  It was nine fifteen. Betty had wondered if Veronica would be mad about it but she seemed in the mood for some chaos as she set up two more lines of glasses opposite each other on the counter and challenged Cheryl who had never met an unnecessary drama she didn’t like.
Betty had drunk a very pleasant glass of good champagne and had been contemplating having a couple more before midnight.  She’d never been a big drinker so for her that was cutting loose.  It had been, to put it crudely, a shit-show of a year and she was glad to see the back of it.  At the last New Year’s party she had been showing off a dazzling engagement ring, about to start the job that she had been expensively and laboriously trained for and she and her intended had signed the lease on a cute and well appointed apartment in Sunset Park which everyone said was the up and coming neighbourhood. The world had been unfolding for her like a flower.  Then the frost had come and scorched the petals with its chill. This year she was single, her job sometimes felt like it was eating her up and that cute apartment burned through every cent of her pay check now she had to make the rent alone.  It was possible that she was the saddest girl in a cocktail dress on the whole island of Manhattan, she was certainly the soberest person at the party.
An hour later the shots were completely out of hand and Betty had only just prevented Ethel from throwing up into the piano.  Moose made some half hearted effort to restore order, offering glasses of water, trying to start a game of Charades, but Kevin was in too mischievous a mood for his efforts to bear any fruit and instead they were embarking on Drunk Jenga, the rules of which seemed to be that you took a shot whenever you removed a block and then another when you placed it on top of the stack.  She imagined you took a shot if the tower fell but she didn’t stick around to find out.  She sidled over to where the Pol Roger was stacked, neglected,  in its very own champagne refrigerator and helped herself while everyone else was supporting the economy of Mexico by the prodigious consumption of Patron Silver.
She took her recharged glass to the window and looked out at the snowy expanse of Central Park far below.  It looked like the idealised interior of a snow globe, the air glassy and still and a huge yellow moon surveying its domain.  Betty remembered walking through the park with Trev last Christmas, bundled in a thick coat and scarf.  They’d held hands inside one of his mittens. They’d made snow angels.  They’d skated at the Wollman Rink and drunk hot chocolate afterwards.  Her life had been a cover image from a romance novel. This year she had spent Christmas being patronised by Polly’s constant offers of introductions to a succession of Jason’s frat brothers and golfing buddies.  Eventually she’d pointed out that if she’d wanted some obstructionist, bigoted blowhard she could have found one herself, without Polly’s oh so sympathetic intervention.  Polly cried and Betty apologised but she still wasn’t going to go on a date with a junior vice president of acquisitions even if he did have a weekend place in Connecticut.  She wouldn’t tolerate being paraded in front of prospective suitors like a prize dairy cow at the county show, not by Veronica and certainly not by her sister.
As she reminisced she became aware of Archie and Veronica deep in conversation in the corner of the room.  “We have a teeny emergenshy,” Veronica said, her hand on Archie’s forearm.  Veronica was never less than perfectly composed but that slur at the end of her word and the ramped up sincerity gave her away to her best friend. She was sozzled. “Only two bottles of Patron left and then the cupboard is bare. I may have over-ordered on the fizz and neglected the tequila.”
Archie nodded, taking the situation as seriously as his wife.  Then some kind of light dawned on his handsome face.  “We’ll get the magic doorman to get us some.  He’ll be on duty now.  I’ll go slip him a fifty and he’ll take care of it.”  He turned to reach for his wallet and promptly fell on his face. It was ten to eleven and all was decidedly not well.
Betty went over to help Archie off the rug.  He grinned even though his nose was bloody. “Ronnie, Betty’s all sober and sensible.  She can go talk to the wizard.  Here Betty, here’s fifty for a tip and Ronnie’ll give you her credit card for the booze.  Okay?  Shit I’m bleeding… still it’s not a party til something gets broke.”
V was looking at her imploringly now.  Somewhere there was the sound of glass smashing and Monroe’s attempt to do chin ups on the kitchen doorframe seemed to be bringing plaster down on the floor.  Betty would rather be almost anywhere than right here so she nodded at her friend.  "What do you need V?”
V explained that the building’s night doorman was a kind of fixer.  When Tom in 204 had forgotten his wife’s birthday Jones had got him a gluten free chiffon cake iced with her name at two thirty on a Thursday morning along with a bouquet of out of season narcissuses....narcissi? When the little boy in 116 had told his mama at midnight that he needed a George Washington costume for school the next day the night doorman had sourced it, complete with powdered wig, before the little tyke had finished his cheerios.  When V had realised an hour before her 5.15 a.m. flight to Miami that she had completely forgotten her niece’s confirmation gift he had sourced a personalised Catholic Bible bound in white leather which he handed to her as she got into her cab.  “He’s a miracle worker B.  Just tell him we need a case…no two cases of Patron Silver before midnight.  Give him the fifty but tell him I’ll make it a hundred if he can fix it by eleven thirty. OK?”
“Sure.  On my way.”
She travelled down in the elevator imagining the doorman.  He’d be some old guy in a uniform with gold braid on the chest. He probably knew all the residents and their dogs by name and had one of those old timey extended families so that he could reach out to Cousin Ike for last minute birthday cakes or get his nephew’s wife to sew a costume at no notice.  She needed a fixer herself since her life seemed so broken.  She wondered what he could do for a lonely woman who was trying to work out if getting a cat was too much of an admission that she had given up.
As she stepped out into the lobby she was slightly taken aback by the mismatch between her expectations and reality.  He was behind the reception desk, dark head bowed over a laptop, no braid in evidence, no grey whiskers or paunch, just this dark, poetic looking guy in a black sweater.  She approached the desk and he looked up at her, fingers still flying over the keys without him needing to glance down.  He seemed to reach a natural pause, closed the lid of the laptop and smiled politely.  “Yes ma’am, how can I help?”  His eyes were blue.  They seemed to look through her probably thinking she was just another rich girl bringing him problems.  He must get that a lot.
“Yeah, hi, I’m a guest of Mr and Mrs Lodge Andrews up in the penthouse.  They’re having a little New Year's Eve party and they’re running low on liquor.  They wondered if you could source them a couple of cases of…”
“Patron Silver?  Yes ma’am, of course.  Who should I charge it to?”  She had no idea how he could have known what she was going to ask for.  It made her want to say that they wanted Stolichnaya or absinthe or something, just to surprise him but she’d been sent for Patron and Patron she would get.
“Oh, yes, I have a credit card.” She handed it over,  “and Mr Andrews said to give you this for the trouble.”  She passed him the fifty, embarrassed.
“No incentive to get it here before the coaches turn into pumpkins?” he asked, eyebrow raised.  She thought he was making fun of her but she couldn’t be sure.
“Oh yes, that’s right.  Veronica said another $50 if it’s here by eleven thirty.”
“Okay ma’am.  I’ll buzz up when it’s here.  If that’s all.”
“Oh please don’t call me ma’am.  I’m Betty.”
“I’m Jones... Jughead. Nickname. Long dull story.” He raised an eyebrow, clearly wondering why she was still standing in front of his desk.
“Look, it’s a little crazy up there.  Would it be okay if I just stay down here for a minute? Just say if it’s inconvenient. I don’t want to disturb you if you’re busy.” She didn’t think she could bear to be the responsible adult at Veronica’s party for a moment longer. Here it was quiet and no one needed her to hold back their hair while they were getting sick.
“Busy getting hold of twelve bottles of good tequila on New Year's Eve but that’s all.  I just need to make a call.  Excuse me.”  He stood and walked away from the desk, his back turned to her.  It was a good back.  He was wearing the black sweater over grey slacks with a key chain hanging from one of his belt loops.  He had broad shoulders but his neck was fine, not thick and meaty like the guys who needed to lift weights to manufacture some self esteem. He was slim at the waist and the hips, long legs, tall.  The hair was the USP though, dark waves of it tumbling freely as he dragged long fingers through it, waiting for someone to pick up his call.  Finally he yelled “Hey Toni.  Yeah, two cases of Patron Silver asap.  Yeah, I’d noticed that but mark it up. Can Sweetpea drop it over?  Yeah right now.  Hey, ask him to get me a burger on the way too.”  He turned and looked at Betty with a questioning look and she shrugged and nodded, “Two, make it two.  Ok, thanks Toni.  Yeah you too.  See you Sunday.”
He ended the call and made his way back to the desk.  “My pal Toni runs a bar,” he explained with a grin.
“Veronica says you’re magic, a wizard,” she told him.
“Nothing occult about it.  I’m just observant, that’s all.”
“Seems magical to produce a George Washington costume overnight,” she countered.
“Oh well, that was a lucky break.  My sister’s a textile artist.  A struggling one.  I gave her the brief and she knocked up the costume in a few hours.  Now all the upper east side mommies have her business card and she can afford to buy materials and pay her rent.  She had to pull an all nighter but it paid off pretty big in the end.”
“Birthday cake?  Out of season flowers?”
“The husband’s kind of a dick.  He forgot last year too. They had a fight about it in this very lobby so I wrote down the date and got ready to save his bacon.  If he’d remembered the date I’d have had cake for my breakfast and sent my sister a bunch of flowers.  As it was I made a couple hundred bucks.”
Betty was laughing now at the smug look on his face.  “So you could have reminded him beforehand?”
“Could have, but maybe the expense’ll help him remember next time.  Anyway if the doorman knows more about your wife than you do it might be time to review your priorities.”
“Ok but what about the Bible?  That seems pretty miraculous.”
“Actually it’s kind of the opposite. The kid’s confirmation name is Maria. Hardly original.  My buddy Joaquin’s little sister was confirmed a few months ago.  Her confirmation name’s Maria.  She hadn’t made a whole lot of use of the Bible.  Your pal paid me three hundred, Joaquin’s kid sister got two hundred in her college fund.”
“Seems like the side hustles are more remunerative than the pay check,” Betty observed.
“It’s all a side hustle.  I’m a writer.  This job’s kept me supplied with characters and plot lines and given me eight hours of mostly uninterrupted writing time.”
Betty flushed pink and jumped up from the corner of the desk where she had been leaning.  “Oh I’m so sorry. Here I am wasting your time.  I’ll be on my way.”
“No, wait,” he reached out and put his hand on her arm.  It tingled.  “I didn’t mean it like that.  This is research.  Maybe I’ll put you in my next book.  The sad girl in a party frock who’d rather be in the lobby than with her friends at a party being kissed for New Year.”
“There’s no-one to kiss up there,” she confessed with a sad smile and then, without having any idea why, she said “I broke up with my fiancé last February.”
“Aha,” he said.  “There’s the plot.  Tell me.”
“He’s great.  A really good guy.  Kind, loyal, handsome.  Everything I should have wanted. Any girl would be lucky to have him. I think I broke his heart.”
“Why?”
“We started to plan the wedding and I wanted to run away.  I couldn’t bear to think about it.  Then one day I found myself imagining what I’d do if something bad happened that prevented it, like if he got sick or if I was in a car accident or something.  It was pretty clear that I couldn’t go through with it if I preferred the idea of one of us being in a coma to the idea of my wedding day.”
“Cold feet?”
“Oh freezing but it wasn’t just nerves.  When I imagined being married to him I couldn’t see myself, I was just a blank. It was… I don’t know how to say it…like I was finished.  I’d never be anything more than I was, never change or grow or struggle.  It was all too easy.  No grit in the oyster.  I know it’s crazy.”
“You didn’t say it was you not him did you?  You didn’t do that to him?” He was smiling at her, sympathising not mocking.
She blushed.  “I did.  All the clichés.  How could I explain?  I don’t even understand it myself.”
“I understand it.  You want to find out who you can be and he couldn’t give you that.  He was happy with who you were, didn’t want you to change.  He was probably scared of losing you. Anyone would be.” He looked at her with an intensity that made her nervous so she tried to change the subject.
“A writer then?  What do you write?”
“Mostly mystery stories.  Magazines and online so far but I’ve just got a publisher for the novel.  I’m going to quit this next year.  What do you do?”
“I’m a psychologist.  I work with kids who are in trouble.  Try to get them back on track.  I love it but it’s hard sometimes.  I hear things that it’s tough to leave at the office.”
“You need to take care of you first.  You can’t save someone if you aren’t safe yourself. ”
“Writer or life coach?” she smiled.
He chuckled.  “Sorry.  I’m not good at small talk.  I get too intense too fast and freak people out.  Oh hey, cometh the man, cometh the tequila.”
A tall guy in a leather jacket was pulling boxes out of the back of a truck that he’d illegally bumped up the curb outside..  He looked a little scary.  Once he was in the lobby she saw that he had a snake tattooed on his neck.  He fist bumped Jughead and then pulled him into a side hug. “Hey man.  Happy new year and all that. Hey,” he said, noticing Betty for the first time.
“Hey.  Thanks so much for bringing it over. There’s a whole apartment full of drunk idiots upstairs just waiting to make themselves sick on it. Oh!” He turned back to Betty, aghast at what he’d said. “Sorry Betty.”
“You’ll not get an argument from me.  That’s why I’m down here talking to you.”
Neck tattoo laughed and held out his hand “Sweetpea.  Pleasure doing business with you.”  He turned back to Jughead,  “So I have to get back, I’m supposed to be on the door at the Wyrm.  See you Sunday?”
“Burgers?” Jug reminded him and his friend nodded, trotting back to the truck to grab a take out bag and toss it back to Jughead who snatched it from the air like a dolphin snatching a fish at Seaworld.
Betty buzzed up to the penthouse to get one of the assembled jocks to come and collect two cases of tequila and bring down a bottle of Pol Roger and the promised fifty dollars. It was eleven twenty four.  Ten minutes later she was sitting on the reception desk eating a burger, washing it down with $200 champagne.  “This is the best New Year's Eve I’ve ever had,” she grinned, a little disinhibited by the bubbles.
“Weren’t you engaged last year?”
“This is much better.  I was pretending last year.  Now I’m just being me.”
“I always find that works better.  The not pretending bit. Especially not with someone you can love.”
She certainly wasn’t pretending at eleven fifty nine when she reached out to him and he took her in his arms and kissed her softly as cheers and yells rang out from the parties all over the city and fireworks exploded high above the park, casting confetti of coloured lights across the marble lobby.
As the kiss ended she looked up into his blue eyes, wondering if it was the champagne that was making her blurry and relaxed or if it was him.  She thought she’d have to keep on kissing him to know for sure.  He really was a fixer though.  Her heart felt lighter, hopeful.
He grinned.  “Spectacular as that was, this is probably the most surveilled lobby in the city.  Can we schedule the repeat for when I’m not actually on the clock?”  He gestured at the security cameras covering every inch of the space and she blushed to think that somewhere there was taped evidence of her trying to seduce the sexy doorman.
“Can I stay here and talk to you some more if I promise not to touch?”
“I wish you would.  I get off at six and I know a great diner for breakfast.  We can tell people our first date was breakfast.  They’ll be scandalised.” She couldn’t hold back at the mention of the first date, of them telling people about it, so she kissed him on the cheek before retreating back to the edge of the desk with her hands up.
They talked about her work, his writing, they compiled an ultimate New Year's Eve playlist and top tens of movies and books.  She found herself distracted by the fullness of his lips, the expressiveness of his face, the heaviness of the locks of hair that fell forward over his eyes only to be pushed back impatiently.  They agreed on almost nothing and that was exactly how she liked it.  When she crept up to the penthouse at five thirty to collect her coat and change her party shoes for snow boots, she was met with a scene of devastation.  Prostrate bodies sprawled on every flat surface.  The two cases of tequila sat unopened in the kitchen, clearly surplus to requirements by the time they had been manifested.  She picked her way through the carnage and found the coat closet where Archie had put her things when she’d arrived the night before.  Opening the door she noticed the cases of liquor stacked inside, three unopened boxes of Patron among them.  She realised that Jug wasn’t the only fixer in the building.  She made sure to lean over her sleeping friend to place a kiss on her forehead before she let herself out, locking the door behind her.

"And you already know me" then I smiled and they all smiled back at me
"So don't mind me by asking what's your family's story I mean we all know eachother's mine is my father was the son of a god but he found love and ended up having me what's yours?" Archie asked
"Long or short version?" I asked and everyone said in unison "long "
"We'll have you all heard the frog prince?" I asked and they all nodded
"We'll see that kinda sent my mom on a path my mom once said when she was younger and I quote I will never never ever ever kiss a frog yuck! Boy was she wrong see my mom was never a princess growing up she lived in a beautiful neighborhood where they loved my grandfather cooking Especially his gumbo my mom and him always cooked and which set her on a path for her dream , cooking and starting her own place and she said she would name it Tiana's place but sadly my grandfather didn't live to see it because he died in world war 1 "
"Go on I'm getting interested in this story!" Betty said and I smiled
"Well my momma promised him that she would live her dream but one day she was able to get a place it had some work to do from what she told me but it was hers but then she found out she lost it while all that was happening my father came to town aka New Orleans and yes I was born and raised there anyway my father had a problem of his own he WAS a prince but he lost my grandparents kicked him out and he was broke also he really didn't know how to do anything himself. but then he meant someone he called him self the shadow man because of his power from his necklace but my father had someone with him Lawrence see the shadow man was a bad man he took the blood of my father and put it in that necklace of his and was able to turn Lawrence in to my father so he would be the prince and he turned my father in to... well a frog" and then Reggie almost chocked on his drink and everyone eyes widened
"FINALLY SOMEONE WHO PARENT TURNED IN TO AN ANIMAL " Cheryl screamed and my eyes widened
"Wait what did your parent turn in to ?" I asked Cheryl
"Oh technically my grandma and my uncles they turned in to bears "
"Huh!? We should hang out more often " and she smiled and I smiled back
"Anyway do y'all wanna keep on hearing this story? Or y'all getting tired of it ?" I asked
"No please go on!" Archie said while eating
"Well then after that there was a party for my godmother Charlotte who was my mom bestfriend and still is also who was supposed to meet the prince see she believed in love and wanted her fairy tale dream come true while at the time my mom didn't think she needed a man to make her dreams come true later that night that Charlotte meant the prince my mom found out she lost the place where she was going to have her place at and she ended up falling in to the table and Charlotte went to help her out and she put on a beautiful dress while Charlotte went back to the fake prince my mother went outside on the balcony and wished apon a wishing star and all of a sudden a frog appeared next to her that frog was my father he caught her off Guard when he said hi to her see my father thought like the frog prince he would be able to kiss a princess and turn back in to a human he told my mom the plan she hesitated at first but kissed him anyway plot twist she turned in to a frog as well and when that happened they ended up in the bayou and meant a alligator who wanted to play music and play jazz"
"See i believe that he became a frog because we have someone hear who went threw the similar type a problem but a alligator who wanted to play jazz come on now?!" Sweet pea said
"Oh really?! Ok " I said then got my phone and played a video of me and my family friend Louis who always been family to me and he looked at me shocked and I showed everyone and they were shocked to
"See told you Louis Surely know how to play jazz " and I smiled
"Ok frog girl please continue!" Reggie said
"You would be surprised how much I was called that back home but please my name is Gabriella but my friends call me bri or Ella " and then they all smiled
"So what happened next they meant a fly named ray and he lead them to mama odie she was how a put this a voodoo priestess she is really powerful for a very very very old lady she might be very old but she surely knows how to party" then I giggled a little
"Come on how old can she be to be very very old?" Jughead asked then I cleared my throat
"She is 223 years old" and Veronica dropped her fork her eyes widened
"Excuse me did you just say 223?!" Toni asked and I nodded
"Yep but anyway she gave my mother and father advice and told them they had until midnight they found out my father had to kiss Charlotte yeah I know a lot of twist and turns but then my mother taught him that he could do stuff by him self with no help and found out he was in love with my mother and tried to tell her but then got locked up in a box by the shadow man and then my mother found out she was in love with Him when that happened she went to the Mardi Gras but then thought she saw my father but it was actually Lawrence and on top of that she thought that she saw him human and with her bestfriend she was heart broken and ray tried to talk to her but she wouldn't budge she hoped away on her tiny feet as fast as she could then ray found out that wasn't him and helped my father and ended up taking the necklace that Lawrence had around his neck that was the shadow man's for his glamour and then the shadow man told the shadows to go after him he was able to get the necklace to my mother and she hopped away with it while ray stayed he might have been small but he surely had a lot of pride so much that he confronted the shadow man but shadow man ended up killing him and Louis found him on the ground while the shadow man went after my mother , my mother ended up defeating him breaking the necklace see the shadow man got that from I think some spirits or shadows but they toke him the shadow man was gone only leaving his last facial expression in the grave yard on a tombstone then my father was with Charlotte feeling her in on everything that happened and my mother got there but then Charlotte and my father ended up kissing but it didn't work it was already at midnight "
Then Cheryl gasped
"Then what happened?" Fangs asked
"Well they had a funeral for ray see he was in love with the star the wishing star Angeline she was his lover and he ended joining her making another star appear my parents didn't care weather they were frogs or human they loved eachother and at their as I put it nature wedding they kissed then turned back human leaving my mother in a beautiful green dress and my father in a green armer anyway my mother ended up making her dream come true with love of her prince naveen and my father learned not to be selfish and learned a valuable lesson they both did then they ended up having me Gabrielle ray Maldonia my middle name is named after somebody who not only saved New Orleans but also saved my parents, my parents say it's there love story but personally I call it the princess and the frog have a nice ring to it " I said
"Wow that was a beautiful story I loved it" sweet pea said
"Yeah it had twist and turns and love and pride " Veronica said
"Thanks " I said then I opened my lunch box to my gumbo and my beignets
"Wait what's that?" Jughead asked as I was pulling it it out
"Oh my momma famous beignets and gumbo these are my favorite food my mom is the best cook in New Orleans " I said then I opened my gumbo
"Y'all wanna try some ? I usually carry extra spoons but only when I'm feeling generous " I said then placed the gumbo on the middle of the table and spoons and they all looked at me
"Come on it's not poison if you taste it you will like it I promise " I said and they looked un sure at first but they all took a spoon and then toke some gumbo and they all put it in there mouth and there eyes widened and smiles appeared on there face
"Oh my god it's so delicious " Betty said licking the spoon
"Yeah your mom is a excellent cook !!" Jughead said then went back to take some more then I smacked his hand and he looked at me
"No double dipping "
"Ugh fine" he said and we all laughed Then I took my gumbo then started eating within 5 minutes I was finished and they all looked at me surprised
"Excuse me if I eat this like I'm an animal it's my favorite food " I said then they all laughed again then I took beignets out
"Girl how many do you have?" Veronica asked and i chuckled
"I always pack some extra just in case anyone wants one and apparently y'all like my moms cooking so here all of you take one these are my favorite dessert " I said then they all took one leaving me one in my box and I took it and they all took a bit out of there's
"Oh . My. God" Archie said and took another bit and i chuckled and toke a bit out of mine
"Oh it's like heaven in my mouth " Toni said eating it
"Exactly I love it" fangs said then toke another bite"
"Ugh! Why is it so good Imma need another one of these " Cheryl said then I finished mine and dusted off my hands then they all finished there's
"Sorry we toke a few only leaving you with one it was amazing!" Sweet pea said and I giggled
"No worries I can make more at home" I said then there eyes widened
"YOU MADE THESE " Betty said shocked
"Yep cooking runs in the family I was taught how to make gumbo and beignets at a young age that was my momma gumbo I like hers better then mine even tho we use the same ingredients but oh well and those beignets was made by me " I said and they smiled
"Well damn I'm going to need more" sweet pea said and I smiled
"Then I will most definitely bring y’all some of my momma food " then they all smiled
"So how was it living in New Orleans?" Fangs asked
"Oh it was the life we had parties every week I was singing with Louis also visiting my grandmama and mama odie in the bayou her teaching me the ways of voodoo since I was a child life was amazing " i said
"Then why did you move here ? I mean riverdale isn't like New Orleans " Toni asked
"I don't know I felt like I was missing something in my life my momma and daddy completely understood my momma thought it was her restaurant that she was missing but that was love as my mama odie always say you got to dig a little deeper to find out what ya need !" And I shrugged
"Do you think that you will find your prince someday?" Kevin asked
"Maybe I do maybe I don't it's not I like I'm giving up on love not giving up on love was a lesson my grandaddy taught my mother as a child my father just reminded her but if I find him I'll love him the same way my mother loves my father !" Then I smiled
"Oh just a question do any of you have powers from your parents story or pets?" I asked
"Oh I have super strength " Archie said and got up and lifted the couch where me sweet pea and Toni and fangs was sitting
"Woah!!"I said then he put us down and sat back in his seat
"I have a magic carpet ! BABA" sweet pea called and then I magic carpet came in flying to sweet pea and stood in front of him
"The carpet got a mind of its own baba go back to my locker please!" sweet pea said then the carpet came up to him and hit him in the face and I busted out laughing so did everyone else
"That ain't funny " sweet pea said and I kept laughing
"Oh that was a good one " I said and held out my hand so me and the carpet can to a high five and the carpet hit it
"Oh so now you both against me?!" Sweet pea said laughing a little
" I mean oh well !" I said then the carpet kept moving around me making me stand up
"Woah!!" I said as he was going around me and I looked at sweet pea and he looked surprised
"Sweet pea what's going on with baba?" I asked
"I don't know he have never reacted this way towards anyone before!" He said and then the carpet sat me down and then went probably back to sweet pea's locker
"What was weird it toke baba I few weeks to like me when we we first meant why did he like you all of a sudden ?" Sweet pea asked and I shrugged
"Eh anyway I can move water!" Toni said and took her water bottle and started moving her hand and water followed from her water bottle to her mouth
"Cool!"
"I'm a merman I can turn in to a merman every time I touch water my mother was a mermaid but my father is human " jughead said and I smiled
"I might be Merida daughter but I don't have powers I use my bow and arrow I also train " and I smiled
"I'm tinker bells son she is a fairy but my father is Peter Pan human so I can turn in to a fairy but also turn back human" fangs said
"I don't have powers but I surely know how to break in to stuff it's apart of my mothers story I also known for the trouble maker I always get in trouble " Betty said
"I don't have powers at all either but I have a looking glass but also I use my brain " Veronica said
"And I'm a worrier my mother saved all of China by proving that girls can fight and my father was a worrier too and I don't have powers!" Reggie said
"I don't have powers either but I'm really smart thanks to my love of books but sometimes I can go beast I mean really mean when I'm angry " Kevin said
"Wait do you have powers princess?" Sweet pea referred to me and I went really red and hid my face with my lunch box and everyone laughed and then I joined them
"Ok but really do you have powers?" Archie asked and I nodded
"Well what are they!" Betty asked smiling
"Oh uh I can do voodoo magic mama odie taught me spells I have my own spell book I also make spells" I said and there eyes widened
"Can we see ?" Sweet pea asked and I nodded
"Wait sweet pea where you get that black eye because I can heal it for you ! " I said and his eyes widened and he nodded
And I put my hand up to his eye and closed your eyes "by earth and air by fire and water so shall you hear my call powers by birth and rebirth powers of silence and peace heal his body and mind" and I opened my eyes and removed my hand and the black eye was gone
"Dude.." Archie said looking at sweet pea
"What is it gone?" He asked and I smiled and and everyone was shocked and Veronica gave sweet pea the looking glass and he looked at himself and his eyes widened and then he looked at me and back at the mirror and touched around his eye
"Oh my god is completely gone" Betty said
"How you do that " sweet pea said then give back the mirror to Veronica and then looked at me....

little ghost boy || [JATP Agere/CGLRE]- “Roses and Little Princes” (Chapter 7)
Reggie was woken up the next morning by a soft voice, pulling him out of his dreams. He was going to protest getting up, before he suddenly remembered the events of the night prior.
He sat up, dropping the stuffed bear that had been in his arms. It fell on the blanket next to him. "Whoa, calm down Reg! You're okay, I promise." Julie spoke, settling her hand on his shoulder. She sat on the edge of the bed next to him.
"I'm so sorry about last night." Reggie began his anxious rambling despite her reassurance. "I was being a brat for no reason and I kept crying-"
"Reggie." Julie took over a tone not unlike the stern one used to get him to listen when he was small. Reggie went quiet, looking at Julie with a somewhat nervous look.
"You don't have to defend yourself, or apologize for anything. I'm not mad at you." She spoke in a sure, definite voice. Reggie seemed hesitant to believe her, but he nodded.
"Thank you." Reggie decided on his next words after a moment, giving Julie a small smile.
"For what?" She questioned, though she was fairly sure that she knew the answer.
"For dealing with me."
"Anytime." Julie paused, before speaking again. "I wanted to talk to you, about a few things. Is that alright with you?"
Reggie nodded slowly, looking a little anxious about whatever she was going to bring up. "First of all, Luke is distracting Alex right now, so if you wanna be little, you can."
Reggie chose nodding over verbal confirmation, so Julie continued speaking. "I guess I'll get straight to the point. How do you feel about telling Alex about all this?"
There was a pause, and Julie thought that maybe she shouldn't of brought it up. But just when she was going to let him know that he didn't have to answer, Reggie replied.
"I'm not completely against it," Reggie admitted, speaking up with a voice full of hesitancy. "It's still scary though. But I feel like he'd get it, he deals with anxiety too...worse then me really. I feel like he'd be glad I found a way to deal with it."
Reggie sounded hopeful, but also worried. "I think you're right. And no one said that you have to tell him now, Luke and I just thought we'd bring it up now so that you could think about it."
"Was there anything else?" Reggie questioned after a beat of silence.
"Hmm?" Julie hummed, seemingly confused.
"You said you wanted to talk to me about a few things." Reggie elaborated. Julie remembered the other thing she wanted to bring up.
"Oh! Yeah..um, I wanted to ask about the whole 'mama' thing..." Julie trailed off for a moment while Reggie's face went red, and he immediately avoided looking at her face. "There's nothing wrong with you calling me that! If I was uncomfortable with it, I'd tell you. I just wanted to know why, I guess. Is that something that's normal for littles?"
Reggie let out a light sigh of relief. Julie wasn't judging him, she was just curious. She didn't seemed concerned. Or angry...just curious. "Um..kinda? I'm sorry that I called you that without like, talking to you about it first." He apologized.
Julie shook her head. "If its something that makes you feel more comfortable in your headspace, I don't mind it." she repeated.
Reggie kept going. "Yeah. Some regressors have people that take care of them, like caregivers. And they might call them some variation of mom or dad because they play a parent role...and I guess little me recognizes you as 'the nice lady who cares for me' and it just kinda..slipped out a few times."
Julie only smiled, seemingly touched by that. "I'm glad you feel safe around me. I don't care if you wanna call me that, I just wanted to know why. That's all I wanted to talk about."
Reggie smiled a bit, feeling a lot less awkward. "Okay, cool. What are Luke and Alex doing?" He immediately found a way to change the subject, and Julie didn't seem to catch on, replying to his question.
"They're at the beach with Willie, I think. Alex mentioned wanting us to get to know Willie and Luke thought it'd be the perfect way to get him out of the house, because you seemed pretty worried that you wouldn't be able to regress." Julie explained.
Reggie frowned, and Julie interrupted his thoughts before he even got the chance to speak. "Don't apologize for misbehaving again. You wanted to stay up because you wanted to be little, you were upset reasonably. No ones mad at you."
Reggie shut up quickly, nodding in affirmation. Julie sounded so authoritative most of the time, always seeming as if she was right in what she said. She could say the craziest thing in that tone and Reggie would probably agree without questioning it.
"Anyways, I think it's time to get up. You slept in pretty late," Julie stood up, holding her hand out. Reggie took it, allowing her to pull him out of bed with no protest. He picked up the bear before straightening up, hugging it to his chest.
He noticed that Julie was looking at him, so he lowered the bear as if 'correcting' his actions. As if carrying the bear was wrong and he wasn't supposed to be doing it. He had a light pout on his face. Julie quickly jumped to reassure him.
"You're okay! I don't care if you carry the bear...you just don't do stuff like that when you're big. So I was wondering if you were feeling small," she explained, looking at Reggie expectedly.
"Am I allowed to?" Reggie asked, tilting his head and looking at her with curious and innocent eyes. He was slipping fast.
He didn't even really understand why. Being around Julie or Luke always made him feel a little small. They were so protective of him, caring and sweet. Always willing to give up time to take care of him. Reggie felt pretty bad about that sometimes, he felt like he took to much of their time.
"Of course you are, you can be little whenever you need to."
"B-but I dont need to be little right now," Reggie pouted, hugging the bear to his chest again. "I wanna be little. Should be big."
"No, baby." Julie correct him quickly, stopping his pouty rambling. "You're allowed to be tiny because you want to. You don't have to limit your headspace to when you're stressed, regressing for fun is completely okay."
Reggie hummed, nodding a bit. Julie could tell he wasn't completely little, but he wasn't far from it. "We should get you dressed in something soft. Don't you get uncomfortable in jeans after wearing them for so long?" Julie asked.
Reggie shrugged, bringing his thumb up to his lip. "Hmm. Well, how about we look at some of my clothes? If you don't find anything you like, you can stay in your clothes." She compromised.
Reggie nodded, following Julie's lead, walking over to her closet with her. "Do you see anything you like, Reg?"
Reggie settled his thumb into his mouth, his eyes glancing around the closet. His eyes paused on a solid red t-shirt, with Winnie the Pooh on it. He had never seen Julie wear it before, but he immediately wanted it.
He pointed to it silently, bouncing on his feet. "You want the Winnie shirt?" Julie smiled lightly, pulling it off of the rack and holding it up to him. While Reggie was taller then her, their clothing sizes didn't seem to be far apart. The shirt was cropped too, but Reggie didn't seem to care.
"Winnie! Cute bear," Reggie said simply. "Watch it wif Luke." He explained.
"Really? Maybe we could watch it later," Reggie smiled at that, seemingly excited at the possibility of that. "Only if you're really good today." Julie decided, tapping the button of his nose with the pointer finger of her free hand. She walked over and set the shirt on the bed, before going back to the closet.
She started rummaging through it, so focused on finding some suitable pants for the boy that she didn't notice him slip away from his spot next to her. It wasn't until she heard his frustrated toddler voice sound behind her that she realized.
"Juwie!" he whined, his shirt stuck part way over his torso. He had discarded his flannel on Julie's bed, and was trying to pull his black shirt off of him. "Hewp!" he requested,  Julie noticing the little frustrated huff he let out. This childish anger was the same thing that led him to his little temper tantrum the night before.
"I'm coming, baby!" Julie chuckled, coming over to him and instructing that he held his arms up. In no time, Julie got the shirt over his head, and it was discarded on the bed with the other article of clothing.
Reggie's face was painted with a little angry pout that amused Julie. He seemed to come to his senses, and that pout faded into a smile. "T'ank you!" he cheered.
"You're welcome, darling. But, you could've waited for me to help you in the first place," Julie said. Reggie seemed confused, shaking his head.
"Always do things m'self!"
"You don't have to, though. It's okay to ask for help," Julie told him, picking up the character shirt and pulling it over Reggie's head. He pushed his arms through their holes and pulled the shirt down. "You look so cute, Reggie!" Julie complimented, patting his head softly. Reggie blushed, biting his lip.
"Thanks." he mumbled, looking down at himself.
"Did you want to change pants, or were you just planning on stealing my shirt?" Julie questioned, crossing her arms.
"Stealing da shirt, das it." Reggie giggled, picking up the bear from where he had left it on the bed. Julie chuckled, shaking her head a bit.
"You're a silly baby, Reg."
"Siwwy," Reggie giggled again, bouncing on his feet. "Baby?" he pointed to himself after a moment, seemingly asking a question.
"Yeah, you're a baby. A very cute one at that," Julie tapped the button of his nose again, and Reggie face broke out into a smile.
Being reminded that he was, in fact, a baby, without any judgement, make him feel like it was okay to be that way. It made him feel smaller.
"Can I play now?" Reggie asked, holding the bear in his arms tight and looking up at Julie pleadingly.
Julie nodded. Seeing him so innocent, just wanting to play and cuddle, it was different. It made her happy to know that something as cute as this childish getaway helped him cope. And she wanted to help where she could.
"What do you wanna do, Little Prince?"
The new nickname slipped out of her mouth without any hesitation. It had popped in her head and she impulsively decided that it felt right. For a split second, Julie thought about taking it back.
But the moment she saw Reggie's shy smile, and the excited look on his face as he went to ramble about his options for playtime, she realized that the nickname made him happy.
It was like how Luke called him 'Little Rockstar' sometimes. Julie never called him that, it was something for Luke and Luke only. Something special for just them.
This was something special for him and Julie.
--
"Mama, da bear is red...like a rose!" Reggie looked at the stuffed toy in his lap. He was currently sitting on the ground in a criss-cross position, with Julie's laptop in front of him. As promised, Julie had put of Winnie the Pooh for them to watch together.
Julie nodded, "Yeah, like a rose." she hummed, pausing before continuing. "Roses are pretty flowers, don't ya' think?"
Reggie seemed confused as to why she was asking this, but he nodded firmly. He leaned his back against Julie's bed behind him. Julie didn't know why Reggie had wanted to sit on the ground instead of her bed, but she let him. He seemed comfortable just sitting on the fluffy rug, a soft blanket of Julie's pulled around his shoulders.
"Why?" he asked.
"Because roses are just like you!" Julie spoke in a playful tone that communicated that what she was saying was absolutely obvious. Reggie's eyebrows furrowed, and he tilted his head, his lips forming a light pout.
He didn't like not understanding things! It made him feel like a baby. Not in the good way either...he just felt stupid. Julie smiled, leaning closer to him and speaking in a quiet voice, as if her words were a secret. "You're a pretty flower." She spoke in a teasing voice, knowing the compliment would embarrass him.
He was just so cute when he got all shy.
Reggie took a second to register, but his face went red. He pulled the stuffed bear from his lap, lifting it up so that his face was covered. "Awe, don't hide from me, Flower!" Julie pulled a fake sad face, reaching forward to pull Reggie's arms (and therefore, the stuffed animal) down.
"You're mean, mama!" Reggie whined, turning his head so that he was looking away from Julie. Julie knew he didn't mean it, but she gasped.
"I'm mean for calling you pretty?"
Reggie hummed in affirmation, keeping a firm pout on his face. "How so, Reg?" Julie watched as he looked back at her, quickly jumping into the babyish logic behind claiming that she was mean.
He didn't seem to be able to come up with anything, though. He just pouted, huffing in frustration. "Mean!" he exclaimed.
"I think you're just pouty because I made you blushhh," Julie teased. Reggie continued to pout, scrunching up his nose. Julie considered continuing to push the teasing, but she figured that she'd eventually actually annoy him. If his angry pout meant anything, it seemed that she wasn't far from it.
She didn't want a grumpy little on her hands.
"Okay, okay. I'm sorry, baby." julie noticed that Reggie was actually paying attention to the cartoon again, wrapping her arm around him. Reggie leaned into her side, mumbling out a few words.
"It's okay, mama."
Those words made Julie smile. Over the past few weeks, Julie had been getting to know Little Reggie, while Luke, Julie, and Reggie became more closer overall. Reggie regressed quite a bit during this period, because it was the first time in his life where he felt safe too.
He had two amazing friends to go to, to take care of him. They didn't care if he regressed every other day, or if he was a handful to deal with. They were so supportive of this vulnerable, childlike part of himself. Because they cared about him.
Because they loved him.
And soon enough, Alex would meet Little Reggie too. The only question was, would he be as supportive as Luke and Julie were about it?
Reggie would find out come the time.
But 'the time', was sooner then anyone expected.

A/N:  Let me know if you liked this chapter! I kinda got caught up in Julie and Reggie's dynamic but I will return to the actual plot (kinda) in the next chapter!
