Why Is Snooker Male-Dominated?
Today, sports such as cricket, football, hockey, and others are gaining popularity. Women are demonstrating their strength everywhere, including in international athletics. But why is snooker dominated by men?
As time passes, we observe women playing alongside males. They are participating and winning trophies at the same rate as males.
Snooker is a sport; we trust you are familiar with it. However, do you know why snooker is dominated by men and referred to as a gentleman's game? Well, there are many reasons, and one of the most notable is its history. Understanding the history of snooker will explain why the sport is referred to as male-dominated.
Today, we will outline every aspect of the game in a few points. Let's start with a few suggestions.
Why is snooker dominated by men? Main factors We will discuss the reasons why snooker is predominantly male.
Steve Davis, one of the greatest snooker players, claims he has never seen a woman complete the final snooker stage. He believes that men's snooker obsession qualifies them for an unrelated activity. Due to the lucrative nature of snooker, professional female competitors have yet to emerge. Snooker is considered a male-dominated sport due to the lack of professional opportunities. Therefore, women do not want to pursue careers that cannot provide them with financial security. Men, on the other hand, can practice the game to live a luxurious existence unconcerned with their careers. Women may not have been permitted to participate in snooker because, according to the renowned Pillai, the barriers between men and women were enormous in the past. Over time, however, gender discrimination is fading away, and women now have access to equally competitive and high-quality snooker matches as males. According to world snooker champion David, snooker requires a great deal of practice in order to win a world championship, and women can presume that their eight hours of practice are wasted. Rebecca Kenna, a female player, offers her opinion on why snooker is dominated by males. She stated that when she was younger and frequented pubs and clubs with her father, she never saw a female at the snooker table, so women may find it awkward to play snooker by themselves. Conclusion There is no biochemical reason why women cannot be as effective at snooker as men. There will be no more than one or two females on each of every ten snooker teams. A small number of women have begun playing snooker, but not enough to contend in the world final stage tournament. In some way, the change is occurring.
Historically, there have been no women in snooker; however, this perception is steadily changing as more women dare to participate. Soon, there will be more women in the world of snooker. Learn the rules for playing snooker on a pool table.

After the male cheating/leaving when having cancer post I am curious now if there is anything for men leaving their partner when they (the men) become more successful or get promoted?
Hello!
(This is the referenced post.)
Interestingly, while there is limited research on this topic, the evidence that exists indicates the opposite. That is, the general gist of the research indicates that women who get promoted(/enter the workforce/get a significant raise) have higher divorce rates.
The theorized reasons for this still center around sexism, but it also highlights a way in which divorce is not necessarily bad. Details below:
This BBC article [1] discusses a 2020 Swedish study [2] that "compare[d] the relationship trajectories of winning and losing candidates for mayor and parliamentarian and find that a promotion to one of these jobs doubles the baseline probability of divorce for women, but not for men ... [and also found] a widening gender gap in divorce rates for men and women after being promoted to CEO." Their "analysis of possible mechanisms shows that divorces are concentrated in more gender-traditional couples, while women in more gender-equal couples are unaffected." In other words, women in married to sexist men were more likely to end up divorced following a career success.
The BBC article highlights how this is a case in which divorce is positive: "Sweden’s overall high divorce rate compared to the rest of the EU is linked to its gender equality goals. The high level of female participation in the workforce and a norm of shared custody of children following a split makes it easier for divorcees of all economic backgrounds to leave partnerships that aren’t working."
Other relevant findings about how enhanced independence for women can increase their divorce rate:
"In a sense, employment not only increases women’s economic independence, it also increases their psychological independence, and this increases the chances of ‘her’ divorce by decreasing the perceived costs of divorce." [3] (This study also found that women were more likely to initiate the divorce.)
"When wives report better-than-average marital satisfaction, their employment affects neither spouse’s exit. However, when wives report below-average marital satisfaction, their employment makes it more likely they will leave." [4]
"The independence effect found in prior research, which did not include controls for marital quality, may have been measuring the role of wives' economic independence in exiting bad marriages, not in exiting all marriages." [5]
However, there are also other relevant factors. For example:
This study [6] indicates "the protective effect of a traditional division of paid labor [i.e., a male breadwinner] is only present among couples in which wives have traditional gender attitudes." So individual beliefs play a role.
But, this multinational study [7] posits "that greater policy support for equality reduces and may even reverse the relative divorce risk associated with a wife's employment." Indicating the effect seen above may be dependent not just on the gender-attitudes of the couple but also of the wider social context.
This study [8] further emphasizes the impact of contextual factors, finding that "movements away from income equality toward a maledominant pattern tend to increase the dissolution risk for cohabiting couples, whereas they reduce the dissolution risk for married couples. Movements away from income equality toward a female-dominant pattern (reverse specialization) increase the dissolution risks for both marriage and cohabitation."
Meanwhile, this study [9] found "while positive income shocks of $25,000 to $50,000 do not cause statistically significant or economically meaningful changes in divorce rates, single women are less likely to marry as a result of the additional income." This may indicate that only consistent economic changes impact divorce rates, but I should not that the authors don't appear to have analyzed divorce rates by sex of the income shock recipient, so that conclusion would be premature.
It's clear from this that there are multiple factors influencing the relationship between women's career successes and divorce. Broadly speaking, it looks like women's promotions/increased income increases the likelihood of divorce if the couple endorsed traditional views on gender or the woman is dissatisfied with the marriage. But other contextual factors also impact this relationship. (A side note that divorce from an unhappy marriage has more positive results than remaining!)

Me explaining to my almost exclusively male European flatmates why WAP was not degrading toward woman
#my actual words about wap (and subsquently montero) may having imvolved me saying the nuances of american music are really interesting -#- you just have to know how to identify them#especially communities that have been historically silenced#yes wap is literally about wet ass pussy and thats what they meant but expressing your sexuality as as a female in a maledominated industry#- that sees womens sexuality and body as somerhing to exploit means something mroe#just like montero literally shows lil nas x twerking on satan and he means it but its also about people who told him to go to hell#anyway yeah americans are dumb i know but some or our media is cool and interesting it just takes time to understand the nuances of it#and i didnt ever begin to cover how race intersects with being a woman (in wap) and gay man (in montero)#because that just adds another layer to explain

Thrilled about all of the amazing #movies at the #LAB111 in #Amsterdam within the FEMALE FRAME: BREAKING THE CELLULOID CEILING exploring the #representation of #women in #film with an #inspiring selection of more than twenty films by #femaledirectors and about #femalecharacters. Over a period of nearly three months the LAB 111 is celebrating a far too often overlooked archive of highly #influentialcinema. https://vimeo.com/315853542 My this week's favourites from Female Frame are “#Kusama — #Infinity,” a documentary from Heather Lenz, makes a convincing case of a struggle (by #racism and #maledomination) of a #genius #artist and that the art world and the general public are still catching up with the influence of #YayoiKusama, the painter, sculptor and performance artist perhaps most widely known for her mirrored “Infinity rooms. British director Andrea Arnold's "Fish Tank", where social realism of suburban Essex is captured through such beauty, light and genuinity of the actors like Katie Jarvis (main character), whom Andrea Arnold literally found on the train station while having an argument with her boyfriend. I don't hold any credits to this photo Yayoi Kusama All the Eternal Love I Have for the Pumpkins, 2016 Wood, mirror (at LAB 111) https://www.instagram.com/p/BvJVXuAD7jq/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1c62p4zccfeea

Lil bit of outdated sexism as seen on the @florida.blue website today. Not all doctors are men. “They’ll” would work much better here. #sexism #feminism #maledominated #femaledoctors #femaledoctor #notalldoctorsaremale https://www.instagram.com/p/By8PRokBDb5/?igshid=1vok92qad7nev
