[x] @skxrbrand
Just as Kha'xanzyr's blood burned, so too did Ermon's. As much as his hate was almost entirely his own, he was still a Daemon of Malal - almost was not entirely.
But he ignores it. Perhaps one day he will get the pleasure of sending the Bloodthirster to oblivion, but that was not today.
Tumblr media
"You sought revenge, and the power to take it. Perhaps we are not so entirely different." Ermon replied slyly in response to Kha's attempt to justify his actions. That was no particular trait from Malal's own parentage; it was just a matter of seeing the obvious.
"I see." Ermon rumbles thoughtfully as he gestures with a clawed hand. "And does he know of this?"
Likely, but this was a learning exercise. Kha'xanzyr was the most talkative of his brothers, by dint of their current "alliance". A resource to be tapped while it was there.
"Or do you wish to break The Reaper's hold over you too? Is that what this is?"
A grin of wicked fangs.

The shadows seem to close in on Kha'xanzyr, for just a moment. Then they retreat, skittering down the walls to form a remarkably imposing shadowy figure. The two red eyes open and the Prince slips from the shadows, the blackness of his half-formed wings settling into his back.
"It seems for the moment that our Lords have decided we are to be allies against your Father's lot." The Malalian's bestial lips quirk, amused in a cruel way that was almost Slaaneshi.
But not quite.
"I never would have expected a Bloodthirster to accept the gift of magic."
(>:3 HELLO JAX)
The Architect regards a skull, one he has carved with careful claws. New god or not, some habits were hard to kill and the daemon looks over his work with silent self-assured pleasure. But the emotion flees with the roiling of the shadows, the shifting of light.
Kha'xanzyr only moves his eyes, watching a grim figure form out of his peripheral vision. Before the creature takes a sure and solid form, his blood screams as a daemon's only does when the malignancy is close. Muffled now, but nonetheless. A child of Malal has come before him.
The skull in his hands creaks and cracks as the Architect closes his fist around in, ire spiking.
" Extenuating circumstances." Desperate times, desperate measure.
Tumblr media
" But you are mistaken. The Reaper still holds my leash. He is my master before any god, by right of conquests and pacts struct and signed in the blood of battle."

Ermon hates.
Malal's ascension of him, unlike the Four, did not take that which drove him. It had no need to; the loss of his partner and child-to-be will forever be a fresh wound that cannot be sated in any other way but tearing the Four from their thrones and crushing the life from them, so that no Chaos God or their disgusting followers may interfere with mortals ever again.

I like to imagine Ermon is perched on the back of Malal's throne as this is going on, like a giant parrot, all puffed up and irritable.
He trusts absolutely none of it.

Man really answered Kha with "bro whatever happens I walk away happy, I'm wondering if I can get a front row seat to this Kaiju fight that'll be happening"

Fucking cool that one of the original writers for the WHFB RPG from the early 90's that actually worked on Realms of Chaos book from before Malal was cut decided to stat a bunch of the monsters from that time, including the Lesser & Greater Daemons of Malal.

Ermon doesn't really like to think about what happens if Malal gets his wish and tears down the Four but then takes the mantle(s) himself.
He knows what he'd do if that came to pass.
But he also knows Malal's fully aware too.

The lesser of two evils is still evil. you are just as bad as those you claim to hate.

"I made my choice a long time ago. I have damned myself to tear down the Four and ensure they can never interfere with the lives the innocent again." He snarls. "And I will butcher as many of their ranks as I need to see it done."

What sort of God is Malal?
Tumblr media
"Cold. Cruel. Demanding." Ermon replies. There is no anger there though, nor scorn. It is fact.
"Hateful in the way that Khorne is not. Passionate in the way that Slaanesh is not. One day I will watch Him strangle the life from The Four, and I will find peace again. I will have avenged those that were taken from me."

"We shall deny Nurgle their flesh to fester and rot. We shall deny Khorne their blood and skulls. We shall deny Tzeentch their destinies and fates. We shall deny Slaanesh their pleasure and pain. Death to the Dark Gods! For the Renegade God!" — A Dirge of Malal

What did you do before you became a Daemon Prince?
Tumblr media
"I worked to earn Malal's trust and favor." Ermon rumbled. "I went north and slaughtered followers of the Four from the Graelings of the west to the Kurgans of the far east. There was much more, of course, but that is the long-and-short of it. I even attracted a following, in time. Not a large one, of course, but I had a band of warriors sworn to my goal. To the men I grew up with in the Empire, I imagine I would have been considered sort of Chaos Lord."
His lip curled. Disgusting.
"Each bit of power Malal grants is not power he has. He does not work like The Four, who prey upon the ignorant and innocent alike, and so required I prove that his trust and power would be well placed."
The Daemon Prince's bestial face seems to soften, for a moment.
"I do not know what the man I once was, with his farmstead and livestock who had never so much as lifted a blade, would have thought of me by the time I ascended - even less so now."

Me realising Malal's constant state of agony manifests in Ermon as his constant emotional torment.
