✨Character Info Template✨

Been meaning to do this a long time ago (and actually started it but never finished it, lol) as a way to share some more information about my ocs without needing to use a custom page theme, but mostly because I haven't found any page theme that looks exactly as I want and allows this much customization.

There are two versions and both are almost exactly the same; but the example shown in the left has an 'appearance' section which is small and has few quick facts regarding the oc's appearance; while the example on the right has a 'moodboard' section instead which allows you to add more info about your oc.

You can change every section/title to fit your needs like I did in the examples below; I personally removed some categories as well and got rid of some connections as this oc doesn't have that many close friends/partners to fill the original template. However, I also included an extra separated 'connections' section in the download in case you want to add more people and more information.

I recommend you stick to square-shaped pictures so it's easier to fit them to each section. Also if and when you edit the information or section titles, please select only one line at a time to replace it so you don't lose the text format. (Titles shouldn't change because that's a single format/font within the same text box, but should it change you can always hit ctrl+z hehe) When you're done, I strongly recommend you save this as a .png instead of .jpg so it's the best possible quality!

Last but not least, this is a .psd file. So you'll need either Photoshop (I did this with Photoshop Portable, but it supports newer versions of PS and it *should* support older versions too) or Photopea to open and edit this file.

Layers:

>Each layer is properly named and categorized. The general layers such as the background, the icon shape and background shapes are under the groups.

>If you don't want to see/don't need one of the connections' pictures and information, I recommend you find which one it is (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6) and click on the eye symbol next to the layer to hide it so that way if you ever need it, it won't be truly gone.

>To edit a text section, simply find the layer (such as General Information>Left Column) and double click on the 'T' symbol next to the layer. That way it will open edit mode and allow you to edit the text, just don't hit delete or enter while everything is selected or you'll erase it :p

>Main text sections aren't separated, they're blocks of text. I recommend you don't remove the amount (for example, if you downloaded the version with the 'appearance' section, which has 5 sections of information, don't remove the fifth line.) Either leave it empty or replace it with another data, otherwise it will look weird. >To frame it (so it becomes a circle or fits over the shape you want), make sure the picture layer is over the layer you want, then while holding alt click between the two layers. [For example, if you want to add a new main oc picture: 1) paste the pic you want, 2) move it with the Move Tool so it's covering the big circle, 3) once you've fully covered the shape (if it isn't you can resize it by right clicking on it then on 'free transform', sometimes you might need to hold shift to proportionally resize it) make sure the newly pasted pic layer is over the layer named "picture goes here", 4) hold the alt key and hover your mouse cursor over the line between your pic layer and the circle layer until you see an arrow going down symbol, once you see it click it and tah dah! your picture should now have the same shape as the circle! - you can further move it if it doesn't fit the way you want with the Move Tool (;

am I the only one who thinks that Yui/MC is just a stand in for the player? like, her personality is tame and vanilla, enough so that anyone willing could fit into her position quite easily. Not forgetting to mention you can change the MC's name in the games, and she has no voice in the games. And because that there is no canon ship in otome games in general, because who the MC ends up with depends on who the player wants her/themselves to be with (in Ayato's case, it's only that he's like the standard, the poster boy). So, ever since it came out, I've been in the fandom: I've played all the games, read the manga, interviews, and everything, and especially the drama CDs (which make you feel as if they're talking to *you*), and I came to this conclusion. So you learn particular things of the MC/Yui, for example, her preferences that shape her as an independent character, e.g., having her own quotes, her merch, but still, she just gives me that impression. *This is why I also find Yui-bashing to be ridiculous; after all, her character is basically built to be subdued, so the players can fit in her shoes*— is what I think. Thank you for listening. I really do want your (non biased) thoughts, for this has been bothering me for quite a while, :)

Yui is a 2012 heroine, therefore it makes sense why she doesn’t have as much uniqueness or personality as newer ones. Nevertheless, I would like to point out that a bunch of Japanese players DON’T actually relate to her that much. They mostly like her because she’s cute and dumb, and they find that entertaining.

On the other hand, there are a lot of avid otoge players who find her too “stupid and mean” for a heroine. I agree with the stupid part, but despite her moments of random bitchiness, I don’t find her as bad as they say. Yet, maybe they played more otome games than me, so their expectations are higher.

I wouldn’t really call her tame or vanilla though. She’s also one of the thirstiest heroines imo, given that she keeps thinking about wanting more sex even after doing it a few hours ago and so on. There’s also an ending in which she cheats for pleasure and then starts being happy when getting railed as a punishment, therefore she might seem innocent, but there are a lot of kinky things going on inside her head. :”)

Other than that, I agree that she appears as a quite plain character, but it can’t be helped, since the LI’s are the ones made to stand out more through their writing in otome games. To me she’s fun, but she might come off as not flashed out to others, which is to be expected from a heroine.

I also agree with you when it comes to the CD dramas and interviews talking about the player, instead of Yui as a whole, because those are supposed to be the most “yume” materials. Rejet confirmed Ayato as the mainstay of the story in some books and magazines, which means that in the official universe, he ends up with Yui, but this doesn’t mean people can’t ship themselves with him or can’t replace Yui with themselves. My friend has an OC and she used to post screenshots of some routes, yet a lot of people kept asking her stuff such as: “Do you hate Yui?” or “Why do you never talk about Yui?” only because the sprite was turned off and the name was changed.

People should let others go through their own otoge experience. After all, otome games were produced like that for a reason. If you want to play as the heroine, that’s good and valid! If you want to play as yourself or your OC, that’s just as good and valid!

It may be a small thing, but I am truly grateful for all the kind support I've found here. "I love my moots" is a tag I use often and honestly. I joined Simblr at the end of March not really knowing what to expect. I appreciate all the friends I've met and the interactions I've had with so many talented people!

What are some of you're favourite Sprite edits you've made Whether that be this year, or any over years you've been in the sprite editing business

Ok so I've made A LOT of edits over the years so it took a lil while for me to sort out the favorites and why exactly, but here it is so get ready for some rambling!

First things first i gotta say this isn't really organized from the one i like the most and least, i like all of these edits a whole lot and i really don't think i can pick one or two to be the favorite.

So let's start from the start (sorta) i have to give a spot to my Fantasy Au twins edits, it would be illegal to not put them in this list

The Sdra2 Fantasy Au was one of the first things i made in the fandom and i was attached to it for a long while. These are actually the 4th version of their sprites, out of all them only the 3rd had a full gallery of sprites and trust me they were complex since on top of posting i even made different tails and ears to move around depending on the emotion of the sprite.

Even tho i never finished this 4th take on them I'm pretty happy with the redesign (since as i grew older i realized some of my choices were questionable and i really should have thought more before just going with it, just keep in mind i was a dumb 14-15 year old then) and the improvement on graphical quality because not only does it show how much i improved in editing but also because editing the fantasy twins were my first really hard edits and i was always happy with how well i was able to translate their weird little designs to sprite form.

The Fantasy Au as a whole had a lot of edits with a bunch of complicated details that i never finshed and although I don't like them as much as the twins i do feel like they deserve to be shown somehere so have this pile of lizards, undead firemen and two human girls.

(fun fact; i didn't know how to add textures back then so see those scales on the dragons? I made them all by hand-)

Next one on the list has gotta be the Nijiue siblings! Crazy to think these guys are only 2-3 years old like it feels like they've been with me for ao much longer!

These guys where my first try at making Oc sprites since before all i did were Au stuff and they're very very dear to me, as you can probably guess by the amount of spites an different iterations i made of them over the years. While there are a few things i could improve upon them if i were to remake their edits nowadays, i never felt a strong need to do so because as it is their sprites hold up well imo so remaking them feels unnecessary to me.

And you know I can't really talk about them without mentioning the Voidswap Au and a couple tumblr blogs owned by friends of mine. After Voidswap's cancelation i didn't thought I'd ever use these guys for anything so to think that nowadays there's so many people who not only know these characters but care for them a lot out of seeing them in Asoot and Dfta more recently really fills me with joy! I'm glad y'all enjoy my silly siblings so much and obviously huge thanks to the mods for wanting to include them in their stories, I really couldn't be more thankful for that!

And since we're talking about the fam, let me add Mako to the list as an honorable mention of sorts, a i'm still very happy with how i made her adult designs especially the whole closed trenchcoat and open trenchcoat thing she has going on and how i was able to cary out the heart motif on both of them :]

This next one is one of my newer edits + a pretty simple one which is this Irl Sora design i made for mod Bubbles around early this year.

Honestly, I don't even know how to explain why i like it this much? Maybe it's because Sora is one of the characters from Sdra2 i still decently enjoy or because i had a fun time coming up with her design. I had in mind that i wanted something plain and simple just like her in-game one, just adapted to a more adult look. Rolled up sleeves to resemble her uniform's ones and a scarf to bring back the spark of red her old design had, i also gave her the short hair that post game Yuki has because it's still her body at the end of the day + i think butch-ish Sora looks pretty good :]

From simplicity we jump back into weirdness with these last ones because obviously i wouldn't leave my girls out of this list, what did you guys even expect?

Favoritism? Absolutely, by now I'm sure all of you know how much i like these two but focusing on the graphical side for once, I'm super proud of their designs, i think they fit with the weirdness of some of Linuj's design choices pretty well which in turn makes them look kinda legit? In my head at least. I also had a lot of fun working on their sprites, especially Beni's since it had been a long while since i last tried to really exaggerate expressions on sprites of my characters so that was really fun! + I'm super proud of the baby sprites i made of them too, almost as much as i like their standard/adult designs really.

Uhh kinda not directly related to your au but how much of the Bilehwit au will be based on your own cotl gameplay & how much will be oc content made for a story in mind?

And what were your cult & lamb like in your gameplay?

Well, the AU is actually based on a mix of my first ever game (now completed) and a newer game save I have used to remind myself of each area. It is also dosed with a healthy amount of off game things - I use it as a baseline for the main plot lines, such as dungeons and boss fights, but cult life and worldbuilding are much larger, exploring more than just running and grinding resources.

I do want to also explore more of the culture of each area, with undercover missions and such into areas to avoid repetitive fighting through the many, many mini-bosses. This is based on my own personal headcanons, and I have been and will be researching my chosen cultures as much as possible.

So while I will be going through plot points of the game, that is more of a goal to reach rather than the focus of the story, which is exploring Bilehwit as a leader and Narinder as a god, and what that relationship entails. It is a lot more relationship focused than the game, though some mechanics do exist! I am trying hard to make it exciting and fun!

My cult in the game was wild as all hell I will not lie. I was out there getting faith low as hell then using blessings to bring it back up when we had no food, and panicking a lot. My lamb in game was as feral as I was, the fighting style very much... hit it 'til it dies and before it kills you. I beat Kallamar first try on about 4 hearts with nothing but screams and panic in my soul.

I am not a good gamer, I prefer watching, but I have all DLC's on my switch and quite a few on my hand-me-down playstation (did I have to save for those, lordy) and I mostly work with the cult rather than fight. The second I got the 'go-home-free' thing from Leshy i started just escaping my dungeon runs when i had collected enough resources to not be impacted by the percentage loss.

Essentially, I am no gamer girl (I am no woman or man anyway but the vibes remain) but I do enjoy the game on easy and medium! And I fight with pure tornado power, never dodging, only hitting until they or I am dead xx

In your words, tell us what you like most about your MC.  Daenarya is fun. She is crazy and exciting and silly and just amazing. Daenarya speaks her mind and goes after what she wants. She doesn’t let the troubles of her past hinder her future. She never forgets what happened, but she still is able to live in the moment and find enjoyment in all she does.

Do you feel your MC is like you at all? How are you alike or different? I have so much fun writing Daenarya because she is not like me at all. Daenarya goes after what she wants and takes it. I would need to make a pros and cons list, imagine every possible scenario, do some research, make another list, and then maybe, just maybe, I could make a decision to go after something. Daenarya takes risks without a second thought. She lives in the moment. She isn’t hindered by anxiety or other mental health issues. She just is who she is, and she is confident in herself. She embraces her good, bad, and ugly. She has no shame in being who she is, and I greatly admire that. 

What is most important to your MC? What is their motivation in life? Daenarya never wants to let a day pass without making the most of it. Her parents died young, and they never got to do a lot of the things that they talked about. She doesn’t want that to be her life. She is willing to take risks if there is a chance for a reward. I think that is her biggest motivation. Just to live. Carpe Diem.  Later, her biggest motivation is protecting her family. They are the most important thing to her. She will do anything to make sure they are safe. She is a fierce mama bear. You wouldn’t want to mess with her. 

What are their biggest pet peeves/dislikes?  Daenarya’s biggest pet peeve is probably when Mal wins. With these two, everything is a game, and Daenarya is always playing to win. She also gets frustrated when Threep eats the last of the sweets. Also, people who chew loudly and/or with their mouths open

If your MC could change one thing - anything - what would it be?  Daenarya thinks about this a lot. She wonders if she ever had this choice of what she would do. She would want to change the death of her parents. She loved them more than anything, and they had a beautiful life together. However, had her parents never died, she might never have met (and grown up with) Kade and then later Nia, Mal, Tyril, and Imtura. Had she not met them, they might not have saved the realm. Had she not met them, she wouldn’t have her two boys (Lydo and Rayden) and her unborn daughter. (In my writing, that’s as far as she is, but she has two more kids coming in the future). All that to say, Daenarya wouldn’t change a thing. All of the pain from her youth brought her a life of love and joy, and she wouldn’t risk that for anything.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your MC: I love Daenarya because we are so different. I get to live vicariously through some of her adventures. But I also love the life I’ve created for her. I have a really soft spot for children, especially those who are overlooked, forgotten, or mistreated. Yes, there are many people who want to adopt, but there are so many kids on their own, in and out of foster care, and/or in bad situations. I often wish I had enough money to open an orphanage. I know it’s not as good as a family, but it is better than some of the conditions children face. I want to do more to help children, and I love that Mal and Daenarya can do that at their orphanage. I admire her and Mal for all they do and how big their hearts are. I never expected Choices to make Mal’s orphanage canon when I started writing it and pitching it early in the book, but I love it. I think it is the most perfect path for Mal. He will be such an incredible mentor to those children, and I’m glad Daenarya, and I get to help him in that adventure. Ooc: Places that I think should be pokemon regions

I want these so bad omg.

Texas, USA

As much as a dislike Texas, a region based on it would be nice. It could also bring a lot of neat pokemon. Imagine the wild areas too!

South Africa

Or just an African region in general. I don't have a reason for this other than the cool pokemon that could come with it, and I have pokemon OCs that are from a pokemon version of South Africa. It probably won't happen because Japan has a lot of xenophobia and racism, but I can hope (They added a Hawaiin region and I know that's US territory, but all 3/4 Kahunas were Hawaiin and dark skinned, so it could be closer than we think)

Egypt

5th grade me made an Egyptian pokemon region called Asaro. I never worked on it much, but I remember making a ghost type eeveelution that was a mummy (it was a regional variant of the OG ghost type I made). If they were to ever make an African pokemon region, Egypt would be the best one.

Italy

I literally have no reason for this other than I think the towns could look nice.

Australia

I think the next pokemon region is going to be Asutralian because each gen gives us a hint to the next (Example: Pokemon swsh showed art of a cherry and a grape in the hotel, which is pokemon sv). For Pokemon Scarlet, we got an image of a mountain that resembles a mountain in Asutralia.

I think an Asutralian region would be super cool. I actually had an Australian region in 5th grade called Sonin, and I want the Australian region to be real so bad to bring 5th grade me peace.

Midwest, USA

Reason? I live in the Midwest, and I want a region where I can stand in and be like "Omfg, I live here." Specifically, I live in Nebraska, but the entire midwest is the exact fucking same, so it doesn't tmatter if they choose one state or combine all of it. I even have some cool fakemon ideas! Example: a cardinal fakemon that looks like a thief, a maid raccoon because they're actually pretty clean, and the early grass types you find that turn into hot plant ladies could be corn. My friend actually made one when we were younger, and I made a map of it during quarantine. I remember making a cool town that was underground and held a ground-type gym leader.

China

I don't have any reasoning for this. I just think it'd be neat. OH WAIT! I just remembered an old fakemon I made named Fumo! It was a starter for a Chinese based region I don't remember the name of, and it was a red panda. I remember liking it a lot, and I might redraw it some day!

India

India is a really big place, and it'd probably be the biggest region. Honestly, they might just have to choose a section of India. But India has a lot of culture, and also has 1 billion people, so a lot of fans would be able to relate to it.

Mexico

There's actually an artist @voidarkana who is working in a Mexican region on their insta. I'm actually surprised we haven't gotten one, or at least hinted at one sooner (I can because Japan is xenophobic as hell). Buy there could be cool things with a Mexican region. And could you imagine the mythical and regional variants??? Imagine an Alebreje pokemon, or a Dia de los Muertos Houndoom!

Brazil

I made one in 5th grade (I made a lot of shit in 5th grade). I don't remember what it was called. I think it was Bravo or something? Idk. I want this because RAINFOREST WILD AREA. Imagine climbing on these massive vines with the newer graphics, and being able to go on the canopy! Or imagine a town in a rainforest and it'd be a cool treetop city! It'd be like Fortree city, but so much better!

Germany

Germany has a lot of culture, which I think would be fun to explore in pokemon. Plus, they could make SO many pokenon off of the Grimm's fairytales.

California, USA

California is gross, expensive, and polluted irl, but it could be super nice in a pokemon game.

Canada

I made a Canadian region named Calle in 5th grade, and I liked it a lot. It's where I had a Buneary regional variant that was ice type and had these cute little slippers. And one of the starters was an ice type hare, and I thought it was super cute.

Greece

A YouTuber had an idea for one, and I liked it a lot. I don't remember who made it, but they had the idea of the gym leaders being based off the gods, and the champion being based on a Greek Hero. That'd be so cool!

First of all, thank you for stopping by. It makes me really happy to know you enjoy my writing. I've been trying to do a better job of complimenting work that I like, because I know how it feels to have someone say nice things about something you've put a lot of time and feeling into creating. So thank you! 💙🥹

There are a few different factors that influenced my decision to stop writing for otome games. I'm sorry this is going to be such a long answer, but I hope you can stick with me and see it through.

The first, and probably the most influential reason, is that I'm not consuming the media that much anymore. It's been a long time since I've played any of the games with any regularity. Part of that is because I've used some of that time consuming new, different media... but if I'm being honest with you, the other part is that I've simply sort of lost interest. In order for me to be able to enjoy the thing I'm creating about a piece of media, I need to be able to see myself in that world. And I realize that because I was always seeing the world through the eyes of the in-game MC - whom I couldn't relate to on many levels - I wasn't able to fully immerse myself in those worlds the way I know some others can. Which leads me into my second reason.

I have never liked writing in second-person, but when I first started writing for the otome fandom I very quickly learned that that is what people liked to read. I know things have changed recently, but years ago, no one really wanted to read fics written with my self-insert OC (or any other OC). And who could blame them? Again, otome is about the reader being able to immerse themselves in the game, and that's harder to do when you're reading about someone else's character having the experiences. I tailored my writing to fulfil that fandom-wide need for second-person fics, but I never really enjoyed writing that way. And that, my friend, leads me to the third reason.

I was lucky enough to have readers that enjoyed what I wrote and would follow my work, and I am forever grateful for that. But as time went by, I felt that the general mood of the fandom shifted from "we are all sharing what we've created with each other, encouraging each other and interacting with each other's work" to "there are a few writers who seem to get most of the support and attention, while perhaps less popular or newer creators (or even the writers who don't write in a specific style) get overlooked at best and downright ignored at worst." The community started to feel very much like a club, and I was sad to see a lot of the writers I'd become close to who didn't fit into a certain category with their style get discouraged and stop writing because of this. We all know how fanfiction and fanart works: engagement encourages people to continue creating things for the media they love. A person can have a great amount of love for a piece of media, but if there's no engagement with the work they create for it, eventually they will become discouraged and stop wanting to share what they create. Even if you are primarily writing for yourself, there is nothing wrong with wanting to know that others enjoy what you've made. That's human, and don't let anyone tell you it isn't normal or healthy. An environment that lacked that communal engagement and support for everyone, not just a few, wasn't the kind of environment I wanted to create things in, and that put a damper on my motivation to create things for that fandom.

The last reason goes hand in hand with what I said about not solely creating for other people. It was not the most influential reason, but it turned out to be the most important one: I wanted to get back to writing things I enjoyed. Not just things I would enjoy writing, but things I would enjoy going back to read for myself. I wanted to get to the point where it didn't matter that no one else wanted to read fics about my self-insert Black OC, because I enjoyed reading her and was proud of what I'd written. It's a lot easier to do that for a media that has no template. There is no MC to compare my self-insert OC to, and I am not trying to write something that other people can see themselves in. I can write her the way I want to see her, instead of feeling like I have to build her a certain way in order for people to want to read her. It's nice to write about the struggles I have with my hair type and texture, or to incorporate my body shape and size and my skin color into a fic without worrying that my readers won't be able to identify with her. Because I'm assuming that my readers go into my current and future works knowing this female lead is not for them to relate to, it gives me the freedom to write her in a way that I can relate to. And I can tell you that that has been one of the most satisfying, fulfilling, and freeing experiences I've ever had.

My otome works will always be there for anyone who has enjoyed them in the past and would like to continue enjoying them. But I won't be writing any new otome-based works for the foreseeable future - I have other things in the works that bring me more joy to write. I hope you'll stick around for those, but if not I understand! Either way, you are always welcome here, Nonny.

Okay, considering you’re the only one who sent an ask (and I got my laptop back), I’m gonna give you a two for one deal.

People familiar with my Transformers OCs will recognize Flinch, and the newer ones will, hopefully, have a vague awareness of my FF7 OC Valerian.

Flinch! MA BOY! (Going with the Unicron Trilogy -mainly Armada- here)

🩹 - Someone who was a source of trauma

Fucking Unicron.

Like, seriously, not only did that fucker possess him, but he also left him mentally scared enough, that Flinch lost some of his happy-go-lucky demeanour. Growing more paranoid and scared as the story progressed, until he refused to recharge all together.

Adding to that, Flinch also secluded himself from his family by shutting himself into his room or staying out for longer than usual.

He did get better, yes, and regained some of his happy-go-lucky personality, but by the time Cybertron rolls around, my boy’s having the worst of times again.  

🗑️ - "It's complicated"

His dad.

Flinch has a very complicated relationship with his dad. Not because Primus is the god of all Cybertronians, and all that jazz, but rather because he has been absent for most of Flinch’s live and he doesn’t know how to deal with that. Like, it’s great that he gets to know something about his actual parents, but why does it have to be mech that’s not only God, but also the planet they live on?

Primus sure enough causes Flinch some kind of existential crisis.

💎 - Chosen family (including warband)

The Minicon pair that adopted Flinch, when they stumbled upon him, and all the other Minicons they found on their way through the galaxy.

They might be all broken from the war they were forced to fight in, and try to hide their more evil deeds from the sunshine that’s Flinch, but damn it all, if they aren’t a good family.

Also, It’s pretty much a fact that @tachyon-omlette's Eda didn’t have a choice, when Flinch decided that he was prime Dad-Material. Eda might not see it, but Flinch wouldn’t trade him for anything in the world/galaxy. (If the topic of custody would ever come up, Flinch would choose Eda over Primus any time.)

🩹 - Someone who was a source of trauma

I want to say the scientist who made him, but IV was a bigger source of trauma than them.

I went more into detail in that story I wrote, but IV’s presumed death at the hands of some unknown foe/the facility staff left Valerian traumatized to a point, where he even avoided the single though of dreaming about the outside world.

After all, IV dreamed of what was behind the walls they knew, and when he was taken outside, he never returned. And despite Valerian’s memories of his brother being good ones, him never coming back made them bitter. To a point, where he can’t even fall asleep without holding something to ground him.

🗑️ - "It's complicated"

I am tempted to say, “Everyone he meets”.

Valerian spent too much time isolated from humans that weren’t facility staff/scientist, so, meeting people who aren’t out to harm him is a little weird, dare I say scary in some strange way.

Like, he knows that they aren’t going to hurt him, as long as he doesn’t give them a reason to, but at the same time, kindness is rare. Especially in grown-ups that glare at you, whenever you try to carefully walk around them, or yell at you for getting into their way.

He will get better over time, especially when he finds people who care about him, but strangers will always make him feel complicated.

Another person would be his father/the person he calls “DNA-Donor”. Valerian is still young and has spend most of his freedom traveling with a robot cat, before living with his creator. So, meeting the man who’s DNA was used to create him awakens many complicated feelings. Especially in the “Do I call him dad, or not? He never really showed any signs of caring for me…” side of things. It’s definitely something he and Vincent have to work on. But hey! Valerian’s around 14 when they meet, so, they have the rest of their lives to do so!

💎 - Chosen family (including warband)

The Cait Sith that found Valerian in his cell/room, and Reeve. No fighting over that.

Cait was the first person/robot, who wasn’t IV, that ever showed compassion towards Valerian, and the boy grew attached. I mean, why else would he follow the cat over all of Gaia like a lost chocobo-chick? That’s both his emotional support robo-cat and his caretaker.

Reeve came later, when both showed up on his doorsteps. Drenched by rain and muddied from a tumble down a cliff. They haven’t left ever since.

Pairing: Stardew Sam x OC

Summary: Sam and farmer Idalia have been flirting since they met, but Idalia finally decides to define their relationship with a bunch of flowers.

“Is your dad still selling those love bouquets?” Idalia asked. “You know, the way all that works here?” She and Abigail had spent the afternoon trying to conquer Journey of the Prairie King on Abigail’s bedroom floor, with minimal success, so the question blindsided her slightly.

“You’re actually— sorry, you’re actually doing it?” Abigail had to clarify in her slight disbelief. Idalia and Sam had been flirting for what felt like forever to her, but the idea of either one of them actually taking things seriously was a slightly newer concept. 

“No, I was thinking of asking Clint,” she sarcastically responded.“Yes I’m doing it. Unless you think that’s a horrible idea.”

“No, no not at all, he’s like… Lia he’s whipped,” Abby confirmed with a laugh. “That boy is in love. I used to think he had a little crush on Penny, but no, I’ve never seen him like this before.”

“Then yeah, I thought I’d do it tonight,” Idalia casually decided. If she just kept it casual then she’d actually be able to ask him without overthinking and deciding against the whole thing. “Start up the flirting like we usually do, then just ask him.”

“In the saloon?” Abby asked again. The double-checking was starting to feel like scrutiny.

“Is that bad?”

“That’s fairytale, as far as this town goes anyway,” she smiled. Idalia reflected it, realising that asking him to date her in the same place they met did have a lot of sentiment attached to it. “Between you and me, I’ve heard a lot of people asking about you, him, and those flowers. The town’s been rooting for it since day one.” Jodi’s seemingly-passing comment about welcoming her into the family in the future made a lot more sense now. With hindsight attached, maybe it was something Jodi wanted, even.

“Cool,” Idalia smiled back, her intense blush showing she was anything but cool. “I’m going to do it.”

When she entered the saloon that night, Idalia was immediately intimidated by how busy it was. As usual, she made her way around the other patrons, making friendly small talk to those who’d entertain it. Only Sebastian and Sam were around the pool table at the moment, and while she’d waved in their direction upon showing up, she knew she’d find conversation hard without Abby’s presence. She was mildly concerned that the flowers were crumpled in her bag, a cover-up she’d brought in case for any reason she decided to back out, but if Sam even noticed that it would simply be a laughing point. When Abigail did walk in, Idalia was exchanging a freshly smelted gold bar for some cash with Robin.

“Have a good evening,” Robin wished her, Idalia smiling back as Abby waited behind her.

“Ready?” she whispered, Idalia nodding, before both girls went to their usual Friday night hangout spot.

Pool balls colliding quickly became the loudest background noise. Abby took her usual spot on the blue couch where she could see the whole table, Idalia taking her preferred spot beside Sam.

“Evening pretty girl, how’s it going?” he asked, snaking an arm around her waist. It would become the number one reason he lost the game, but he didn’t want to let her go over a pool match. “Are the ducks still doing well?”

“They’re good, I got a good egg for the incubator this morning, so hopefully we’ll have another on the way,” she explained as he made another terrible shot. Not once had she felt bad for sharing the farm’s life with Sam, for he always asked, and always continued conversation with her about it.

“You have to invite me over when it hatches,” Sam said excitedly, immediately putting the pool game on hold. Idalia just noticed Sebastian's irritated but unsurprised eye roll. “Can I name it?”

“You know I have an open door policy with you, show up anytime,” she started. “And I’ll think about it, they’re both named after shades of green at the moment.”

“I knew that,” he triumphantly replied, as if he was congratulating himself on the knowledge. “Olive it is then.”

“I’ll think about it,” Idalia repeated, but with a fresh grin on her face. She couldn’t hide how much she loved the name.

“Nah, you like it, I know that smile,” he beamed back, dropping the pool cue in favour of holding her face gently, and squishing her cheeks. It was possibly his favourite pastime, other than playing guitar. “You like my duck naming skills.” He pulled her closer. “You like me.”

“Well yeah, do you like me?” Idalia, with a view of little more than the man she was slowly falling for, decided it was time to set up her question, reaching for the latch of her bag with one hand.

“Obviously,” Sam flirted back like usual. “I mean, look at us—” Idalia had judged it as the right time to hold up the bouquet of flowers, stopping Sam's usual string of compliments in his surprise. He hadn't thought she'd ever noticed how he felt about her, and certainly was too oblivious to realise she wholeheartedly reciprocated it. “You do know what that means, right?” He'd been so surprised that a small insecure part of him had considered it to be a mistake, that maybe she didn’t understand the town’s customs.

“I really like you, I have for some time now. I’m ready to start something serious with you, if you want that?” Idalia asked. Upon hearing the words from her, Sam could finally accept everything, his relaxed grin falling into place again.

“Absolutely I do,” Sam beamed, and Idalia was adamant that he was blushing. “I feel the same way.”

"Took ya long enough!" Pam hollered, Leah handing Marnie a crumpled cash note.

"If I kiss you in front of the whole town, will it ruin your night?" Sam murmured, inches from her face as he held her. 

"Please kiss me in front of the whole town," she whispered back, kissing him before he could finish closing the space between them.

And he did, and the whole town—or at least the majority who had gone to the saloon that night—had been too invested to ignore it. It was the perfect opportunity, as his mother was always too busy at home, looking after Vincent to come out to the saloon. He had time for them to tell his mum, and her family would find out when she chose to. Until the rest of the saloon went quiet, he'd failed to consider his father after adjusting to routine without him around. Idalia broke the kiss first at the silence, milliseconds before Sam had considered it. Kent had just come inside for the evening, and after a quick glance to his right and his fellow townsfolk immediately falling silent, he spotted his son, his eldest and first-born son kissing the farmer girl, who was holding one of Pierre's infamous bouquets. Whether Sam had raised the question or she had, he didn't care too much, for they were obviously both happy about it. Kent gave the couple a curt nod before taking his usual spot, Gus bringing him out his preferred beer, and the chatter arose once again.

"Is he okay?" Idalia asked, hoping Sam would still know his dad well enough to tell. He hadn't ever said a lot about Kent’s personality, but she got the idea that the relationship was a little awkward at best. 

"We'll be talking when I get home," Sam joked, but it obviously fell a little flat. He just hoped Idalia would understand, at least enough for him to be able to explain the family dynamic to her another time. Kent wouldn’t have an issue, he’d just be disappointed to miss out on using it as a bonding experience with his son. The sticking point was that Sam didn’t want his feelings to be used like that. It was where they fought the most.

"Don't go home tonight," Idalia said, joining in with his upbeat reaction. "Problem solved." It did make him feel like she understood which in turn made him feel better about the whole situation.

"I'd love that, I really would, but it's a problem I should probably resolve sooner rather than later," Sam said, breaking his gaze from across the room and looking back into the eyes of his girl with a smile. "Maybe tomorrow night."

"I'm really sorry if this gets you into trouble," Idalia apologised again.

"I'm my own man, pretty girl, I can handle it." The natural lull in their conversation almost encouraged Sebastian to ask how long it would take for Sam to lose their game of pool only to remind him that they were in the middle of a game of pool. Almost. But Sam had a hand tucked neatly against Idalia's cheek, fingers in her hair as his thumb traced her cheek bone, and before anyone else could say a word to them, he was kissing her again.

OC Mundane Tag Game

Rules: Pick an OC you'd like to talk about and answer the questions for them! Then tag ten people, or as many as you can. 'Underdeveloped character I adopted' is fine, too! Absolutely no pressure to play, though

Also, if some of it can't apply to your OCs, just answer what would be the answer-- like if they're in a historical setting, they likely can't watch movies, but what is a movie they'd like?

(Also, most people have many ocs, so feel free to retag people and answer as many times as you get tagged! Or get really wild and just answer for as many ocs as you'd like! :D)

Since I talked about Ace last time, it's only fair that I talk about Joker :D

1. What is their favorite movie?

I feel like Joker's taste in movies is pretty eclectic (especially as she has all of time and space to draw on!), but the first thing that came to mind was White Christmas (the dance numbers!) and Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief (she idolizes Grace Kelly). I do associate her quite a bit with that classic Hollywood era, but I find I haven't actually watched a ton of them? If anyone has suggestions, I will gladly take them.

2. What is their favorite season?

Most definitely spring--beauty, rebirth, gorgeous flowers, etc etc. Actually, Ace's favorite being winter and hers being spring is pretty fitting, now that I think about it.

3. What do they find annoying?

People with a lack of imagination, when people don't appreciate things she's enthusiastic about, when she can't find the perfect outfit, bad hair days.

4. How would they like to spend their Christmas or equivalent holiday?

She really would love anything as long as she's not celebrating alone--she has done some pretty spectacular things on her hundreds of Christmases past (sneaking into one of Queen Victoria's Christmas parties, going ice skating on a planet of ice palaces, visiting the Christmas Theme Park that Australia built on the moon in 3489 that only lasted a year (turns out it was because of her, actually), but she mostly does these sorts of things to distract herself from how lonely she is, as Christmas is a pretty family-oriented holiday and that's when she feels it most acutely. Needless to say, her Christmases become much lovelier with Ace around.

5. Do they play an instrument? If so, what? How good are they at it?

I imagine she's probably collected almost every instrument imaginable, and can at least make most of them make sound, but she only really plays acoustic guitar (specifically really finger-plucky stuff) and probably a bit of piano. She also sings, and unlike Ace, has no qualms about doing so whenever the mood strikes. And sometimes it strikes at odd times.

6. What's their favorite meal to eat?

Ooh, this one is hard. I feel like she would be one to be constantly excited about trying different kinds of food--but as for a favorite of hers, the first thing that comes to mind is tiramisu for some reason. There is also always a hot pot of tea in her TARDIS without exception.

7. Do they have a favorite video game or board game?

Joker does strike me as a video game girl--I can see her being a Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts fan (and unlike all of us, she actually has the time on her hands to play every Final Fantasy game, lol). As for board games, I think she would probably like Life, as well as some of those newer fantasy games with a ton of worldbuilding like Scythe. Of course, she probably never played them much up until she met Ace, as playing board games against an AI avatar gets boring very fast. She's also so bad at chess that the first time she played with Ace, he was dead convinced that she had let him win.

8. Do they celebrate their birthday?

Poor Joker is an amnesiac--she has no memory of who she is or where she came from, and only knows the simple fact that she is a Time Lord, and her first memory was floating in the vacuum of space-time as a child in her TARDIS. (I'm not even sure that she knows about the Time War. It's difficult to believe that she wouldn't have heard about it after so much time, so she probably knows...?) Thus she has no idea when her birthday is, so she just picked a random day and celebrated it in much the same fashion as she does Christmas. After she meets Ace, she usually convinces him to take her out dancing (which, to his credit, doesn't usually take too much persuading).

9. What's their bedtime routine?

Do Time Lords sleep? I've been getting conflicting answers about this. I'm gonna go with "sometimes," and in those cases, pretty nightdress, cup of tea, usually plays music.

10. What's an OC (or canon character) they like to spend time around? What do they tend to do together?

Ace is the first person she has ever truly connected with beyond the surface-level, despite their very disparate personalities. I don't want to give too much away too early, but what I will say is that initially, Joker views Ace a little bit like a project, and he views her as a character stepped straight out of a fairy story who is too otherworldly to be real and must have some secret agenda for bringing him with her, and thus distrusts her, but they slowly but surely overcome this rockiness. She sees something in Ace that he refuses to see in himself—but I really can’t say more without spoiling things. Joker is very verbally affectionate, often referring to Ace as “my Ace” or “darling.” He makes a very noble effort to hide how flustered he is by this.

As for what they do together, they of course have their time-traveling adventures (and sometimes run into the Doctor and his companions). I'd say they're a bit more like tourists than the Doctor and Rose are, they tend to go to different times and places with the intent of exploring and sightseeing and their adventures are rarely, if ever, premeditated. Also, as I mentioned earlier, they love to go out dancing--the Doctor and Rose are half-convinced that they're just on a dance tour of the universe, as 50% of the time they run into them, they're checking out the local social dancing scene.

Also, I mentioned this in my post about Ace, but Joker loves introducing him to movies, tv shows, music, and other kinds of media that he missed out on in his time. In return, Ace reads aloud to her a lot--it sort of began out of his frustration that she constantly leaves half-read books around and forgets to finish them, but then it just kind of became a habit.

🍩 DONUT - favourite sweet treat? Altair has a favorite from Pandoria, it's a type of sweet bread, almost like cake! Typically it gets covered in fruits from his home world and has a type of syrup drizzled over top. Jorvik has given him insight to some newer sweets though, and honestly, cotton candy has become a favorite.

When he was "born", a spell book was gifted to him to assist in his teachings. It does hold importance to him, as it contains all of the knowledge he would ever need to understand his powers and how to use them properly. If he lost it... it would not be a good time. He kind of needs it, lol

🍃 FALLING LEAF - do they enjoy being in nature? what is their favourite outdoor activity? Upon being ejected from Pandoria, he has gained a newfound appreciation for being in nature. He loves riding in the forest at night. It's peaceful, and it reminds him a bit of home (what he remembers, anyway). When he was growing up in Pandoria, it was unheard of for him to be allowed out without some form of escort, typically on his father's business. Going out into the "wild" of Pandoria was never allowed for him, so he never really had the ability to form an opinion.

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them? I honestly don't remember what caused me to make him purple lol. I just knew he needed to be. I was extremely interested in playing around with the idea of a Pandoric OC, leaning more into the fantasy realm rather than what the game has provided. I took some heavy inspo from another character; Stolas from Helluva Boss. I'm more than likely going to take some judgement for that lmao but, it's the truth. The first thing I decided about Altair was that he absolutely had to be the spawn of Garnok. It felt a bit like an original idea compared to my first SSO OC, and it gave me more to work with!

🎭 MASKS - do they act differently around certain people? what's different between the way they act around friends, family, strangers, etc.? Oh, absolutely he does. Altair is collected around his father, it's expected of him. Detached almost, he's meant to be a weapon, after all. He doesn't have that familial bond with Garnok, family isn't something he had the luxury of having growing up. Around friends, he definitely starts to open up. He's still a little more reserved, given his upbringing, but the more you get to know him, the more he shows his true colors. He's down for adventure always, which can lead to finding trouble. Typically playful, always showing off someway or another. He's a major attention whore lol. He's loyal to those he's close with. Strangers will be greeted with the "Crown Prince of Pandoria" attitude that has been engrained in him since day one. Lovers, well... He's smooth and flirtatious. He knows how to read people, he's the type to make note of his lover's desires, what they like and whatnot. Romance, once he knows what he's working with, is a strong suit- it just takes him a while to get there.

A year and some change in retrospective

Okay so technically It’s like a year and 2 months and like a day. While I made the account and started posting things in November of 2022 I made my intro post on the 23rd of Jan last year so that’s when I’m going to count myself as having officially joined lol. I got thinking about this on my way into work today and I got a little reflective. I’m going to be kind of rambling (what else is new lol) but it dawned on me that, damn dude, a whole year is still like 300+ days and life can go wild directions. I also figured this may be nice for the newer people who have started to follow me (hello and thank you btw). Things won’t necessarily be in chronological order, I mean they might, but, I’m also liable to jump around.

So let’s start with some backstory, all good stories start with backstory yeah?

Me and my -at the time- bf(we’re still together lol just fiance now) were on our way to my aunt's wedding…running late actually because I had the day wrong and blah blah blah. To kill time on the 3hr car ride I started to spit ball this idea for a story I had brewing, that would then become Rituals and Red Tape. I was writing it for myself for a while as a way to deal with being let go from my last job. Well I then had the silly idea to maybe share this with people, so then we get to November and I make a profile and start posting.

That’s right, I started my path on here to be someone putting out original works of writing. I mean, if you go to my profile and check out the pinned post you’d know this but let’s be real, nobody really does that lol. And as those of you putting out original stuff also know, it can be pretty quiet at first. I had in my mind that I was just going to have my stuff on my blog, maybe reblog writing stuff only; that uh…didn’t last long. I’ve met some pretty cool people on here, even if we never really talk I’m happy to see your stuff cross my dash. It was the whole song and dance of you follow me and I follow you, support network stuff. Took part in tag games, an OC fighting tourney thing, and just some other fun things. All the while I’m posting little one-offs, a new WIP here and there…that I eventually just kinda stop working on in favor of my first child. 

I make a Wattpad and start posting what could be considered the 1.5 draft of the story. Things are fun, quiet, but fun

I start to engage in more fandom related things, because why not?

Then something happens, something that I didn’t think would take me in the direction I am going now.

I buy a $30 mic.

Voice acting and acting in general were always a passion of mine as a kid, and with a new stable job and comfy living I thought it was time to revisit some old joy. What was even better is that an artist I was following had a “casting call” for an animation she was working on. So with my little microphone and audacity(the program lol) I do the thing that changed my blog, I tried out…and I got a little part! I’ve never really been one to yearn for the spotlight but I took a chance and it worked out, and I was hooked after that.

So I started to use that mic more and more. First recording a short story of my own, recording a short story by a pal, then…well I guess you can call it doing some dub work.

Now in the past I had people follow me just out of the blue, but, with the first Five Pebbles recording it started to happen more and more. And those posts, well, they were getting some attention. Not a lot mind you, but like, more than the original works. Now I don’t say this with anger or bitterness, it’s just how stuff like this works out. So with what I thought was going to be a one-off thing, I knew I wanted to keep doing it. Yes the notoriety was fun, but more so, I was making something that was bringing people joy. So I recorded more, and more people saw it and liked it, reblogged it too.

Then I had that funny little idea. Something new to me that scratches a few itches at once. If you’ve followed me for THIS you know, the Kel Logs. Not only was I playing a game that I really enjoy(btw if you haven’t you should go play the game it is fun and but I won’t bog this down with info dumping), but I was doing some original writing and voice acting. It was the perfect storm.

Now I know I’m not the most well known person out there and this little fan fiction project isn’t like super famous, which I’m very okay with lol, but like the comments and stuff show I was having an impact on people in a small way. And it was having an effect on me, I was becoming more comfortable with my voice. Not going to sour the mood too much but I’ve struggled with voice dysphoria for a while and the joy I am able to bring people is so important to me, which I know sounds selfish.

So now here we are in the present, I know I’ve missed some stuff and simplified others, with people following me for fandom things and all that jazz. I thank every single one of you. Whenever my stuff get reblogged I do try my best to say something in the comments to those who say things in tags lol, sometimes tumblr won’t let me @ you but know I try. You all have no idea how much it means that I can bring joy to you and I don’t feel I can pay you all back other than to keep doing what I’m doing.

I haven’t worked on my original stuff in a while but I don’t think I’ll be tossing it to the side. In fact I know I won’t. I have a story I want to tell and it will be. So if you have any interest, please check it out and let me know what you all think. I want to always improve but I can’t know where to patch things up if I don’t hear about a leak lol. I’m getting super rambly so I’m gonna stop this here.

1 year later and I’ve gone from solely original writing to a strange hybrid of that and fandom stuff, and I couldn’t be happier with where I am.
