Well, “vacation” is over. I’m back to work tomorrow, making some more masks to take back with me. After three weeks without being called in, I’m relieved as hell I still have a job to go back to. Other than that worry though, I enjoyed my time off. All the time I could have ever wanted to enjoy my hobbies, lazy days hanging out on the back deck with the bulldogs, no people and sleeping as much as I wanted, can’t say I hated it, nope didn’t hate it at all. I haven’t had that much uninterrupted time off since 1992. For reals. Quarantine mandates are still in effect for my state, but Veterinary Medicine is considered essential services. These are far from usual times though so we’ll be doing absolutely everything we can to keep ourselves and our clients safe too. And help all the animals.  There is a real need for hand made masks right now for nursing homes, medical clinics, and animal hospitals that have had to donate their supply to fighting the pandemic. Today

My husband and I spent the day drawing pictures on our computers while our daughters set up a small sweat shop to produce medical equipment without fair compensation.

(I'm an Artist and my husband is an Engineer. We are working from home.  My drawings are illustrations for a children's book and his are building systems plans. The girls got out my sewing machine and started making cloth masks to donate to the local hospital.)

Do you happen to know the brand of kit? Those look adorable and I think my sis would love one! :)

So, Deacon Family Farms is the maker of the kit but I think they may have gone out of business -- the only place I found kits was on like, Ebay, which is a bit of a bummer.

That said, I have four of the pans and I have never used more than two at a time so if you just want the pans, drop me a line and you can have a red one and an orange one for the cost of postage. copperbadge at gmail. :)

LOL! She does have a very grey undercoat. In some photos in the past where she’s been half in shadow, people have thought she was some kind of half-grey chimera.

Oh yes! Makemasks is where I got the pattern I use, they’re a great resource. I thought they were only taking the pleated kind but I’ll double-check.
