My birthday, 2023, is going to be the best birthday ever. I have an opportunity to travel for a week to Ohio, meet a soulmate of mine, sightsee a new area, and make traveling dreams come true!

From Lake Eerie, to finally meeting @sirswitch0418 , spending a week exploring somewhere I've never been, to finding myself tied up in some very sticky situations! 😉 A few more months and I'll be on my way to making my fantasies become reality! My life is finally beginning to make sense and I cannot wait for this next chapter to start! (I should write a fucking book!)

The amount of anxiety and excitement coursing through my veins is almost too much to handle. My dear Odin, I'll be in your arms soon enough! Do yourself the favor of meeting your internet friends! You never know what friendships might come of it!

Into the New World

6 Agustus 2022.. Tanggal dimana hari itu aku dan anakku melangkah menuju dunia yang baru. Dunia yang sebenarnya tidak asing bagi kami, namun sangat berbeda dengan yang selama ini kami jalani. Berbeda lingkungan, berbeda bahasa, berbeda tempat berpulang, berbeda peran dan tanggung jawab.

Hari itu hari dimana kami menjemput mimpi kami untuk bisa selalu bersama dalam rumah tangga. Selalu bersama dan utuh semua anggota keluarga. Ayah, Ibun, Abang dan Insya Allah calon anggota keluarga lainnya kelak. Yang sebelumnya kami terpisahkan jarak, sehingga berkumpul bersama-sama adalah sesuatu yang mewah bagi kami. Berkumpul bersama merupakan momen yang jarang terjadi.

Dan alhamdulillah pada akhirnya ini lah takdir terbaik bagi kami. Bisa bersatu.. namun tentunya ada satu pihak yang harus mengalah. Satu pihak yang mungkin meninggalkan semua kenyamanannya di tempat sebelumnya. Untuk mendapatkan apa yang diinginkan, memang terkadang kita tidak bisa mendapatkan semuanya sekaligus. Ada hal-hal yang memang harus dipilih atau bahkan dikorbankan, memilih untuk memperjuangkan yang paling diinginkan dan menjadi prioritas. Hal-hal lainnya yang tidak dipilih bukan berarti tidak penting, namun kita mungkin bisa upayakan dengan cara lain.

Seperti misalnya dalam pengalamanku, pindah tugas mengikuti suami ke Bengkulu berarti aku 'meninggalkan' orangtua dan keluarga lainnya di Bandung. Keputusan ini bukan tanpa pertimbangan. Apa tidak berat meninggalkan orangtua? Jika ditanya seperti itu, tentu saja jawabannya berat.. Namun saat ini aku juga sudah memiliki keluarga sendiri yang harus diperjuangkan. Untuk masalah orangtua, alhamdulillah adik-adikku masih tinggal cukup berdekatan dengan orangtua. Jadi mereka masih bisa diandalkan untuk 'menjaga' orangtua secara langsung. Peranku untuk orangtua tetap masih bisa diupayakan dengan cara lain, meskipun bukan dengan cara berada disana lagi.

Hari ini sudah berjalan hampir dua minggu sejak hari pertama kami memantapkan kaki kami di tanah yang baru. Aku pribadi masih banyak menemui kesulitan beradaptasi, terutama dalam rumah tangga, karena ini pengalaman pertama kami benar-benar tinggal bersama tanpa didampingi pihak keluarga. Masih merasa sulit merupakan hal yang wajar bukan? Walaupun usia pernikahan kami sudah hampir lima tahun, namun rasanya seperti menemukan banyak tantangan baru layaknya orang yang baru saling mengenal.

Bila direnungi kembali, ternyata kami butuh waktu yang cukup lama untuk bisa mewujudkan mimpi kami. Di usia pernikahan yang ke-5, kami baru bisa mengupayakan tinggal di satu tempat yang sama. Meskipun setelah mimpi itu terwujud, ternyata tidak langsung indah hihi..

Pernikahan itu proses seumur hidup. Bismillah.. semoga kami bisa bekerja sama untuk selalu saling mengerti dan memahami. Karena menurut saya itu merupakan kunci penting supaya bisa sama-sama nyaman menjalani kehidupan rumah tangga.
