my friend @shroudedinsilver has these characters who are fusions of some guardians

one of them is a fusion of og Dream and swapdream Nightmare, and the other is a fusion of their own AU's Dream and Nightmare. whimsical my beloved

and in a discord server we're in, I went "hm. i wonder what a fusion of DS Dream and Obsidian would be like"

i now have three different variants of that, and fusions of Lear & Puck, and Petruccio & Gonzalo

also one of the ds dream/obsidian fusions is actually Delusion/Obsidian. he's a problem. he's very much a problem. not as much of a problem as Petruccio/Gonzalo's fusion, but a problem. let's just hope everyone stays in their own MVs

Socmed discussions about Saltburn, to me —

1) reveal that people are even more squeamish about explicit gay sexuality than they think they are

(And if this is what passes for shocking erotic excess, then we, in the anglosphere, are in a more — not making a comment about individuals here — restrained moment with mainstream American/British adult cinema than we were with mainstream adult heterosexual cinema in the 90s, eg the erotic thriller)

And

2) suggest people are increasingly making art that is in conversation with, if not explicitly nostalgic for, the 2010-16 Tumblr-era.

(I really truly suspect Saltburn is, in part, an adaptation of the tropes and aesthetics that were in certain “The Social Network” fan spaces.)

Saturday, 17:45 - [my brother] just got a call, picked it up, said loudly “I'm on a boat” and then hung up with no explanation. Both pretend we could see the sea when we were still in central Hull. Yeah the industrial bit.

Saturday, 18:13 - My mum just dropped the tickets and mine was the one that we were having trouble retrieving and I was genuinely thinking oh no… what a shame… I've got my bank card and the bus home does go from here, I'm sure I'll be fine.
