Is there an article that says the name of the Taoist skills and their respective characteristics of the monkey king? His Magic powers?
This isn’t a full list of them if that is what you mean? I know that JTTWR has a list in the works and an article explaining a lot of skills but there isn't really a full list. and while I have tried to catalog all his names powers I haven’t gotten around to organizing it.
This is NOT a list of his 72 transformations, but just a list of what he has used his power within the book.
Changed into a small sparrow perched on a tree
Changing himself into a cormorant
Changed into a small fish
Changed at once into a water snake
Changed again into a spotted bustard
Turned self into a pine tree
Rode a 'fierce wind' for monkeys
A mighty wind, hurtling pebbles, and rocks, a wind arose and separated the king from his subjects
Magic of body division
Plucked a handful of hairs, chewed them to pieces in his mouth, and spat and changed into thousands of little monkeys, who snatched and grabbed weapons
Magic of displacement, calling up a great wind, which carried all the little monkeys back to their home
Magic of water restriction leaped into the waves, which parted for him, and he followed the waterway 7
Magic of cosmic imitation, grew to be ten thousand feet tall, with a head like the Tai Mountain and a chest like a rugged peak, eyes like lightning a mouth like a blood bowl, and teeth like swords and halberds.
Transformed himself into a creature with three heads and six arms
Magic of immobilization, transfixed
Magic of body concealment, invisible
Changed into the form of the Great Immortal of Naked Feet
Plucking a few hairs, he threw them into his mouth and chewed them to pieces before spitting them out and sleep-inducing insects
Exerted his magical power and changed himself into a figure having the features and height of Erlang
Changed into the form of Holy Father Erlang
Hair changed into a writing brush with extra thick hair soaked in heavy ink
Magic power of foreknowledge, divination
Hair changed into a sharp, curved knife
Magic of overturning seas and rivers, he transformed the clear, limpid water of the Eagle Grief Stream into the muddy currents of the Yellow River during high tide
A strong wind arose and whipped the fire into a mighty blaze
Changed at once into an exact semblance of that old monk 72 magic to 'seize the wind' allowed the head of the wind to move past but he caught hold of its tail and sniffed at it
Changed at once into a spotted-leg mosquito
Magic of body protection, he stretched his waist and at once grew more than six feet, attaining the height of ten feet altogether
Magic of the body beyond the body, creates more selves, the body changes into ten of me, and the ten can also change into one hundred. In fact, the transformation can grow to millions and billions
Water-repelling spell breathe underwater
Change into a water creature like a fish, shrimp, crab, or turtle
Change hair changed at once into a specious Pilgrim
Change hairs into the elder, another changed into a figure like himself, and the two other trees changed into Sha Monk and Eight Rules
Magic of revivification
Magic of the spirit leaving the body
Pat a mouthful of water to break illusions
Spell that brought him the God of Day Patrol, the God of Night Patrol, and the Guardians of Five Quarters, to whom he gave the following instruction
Changed into Hill-Pawing Tiger, while he himself changed into Sea-Lolling Dragon.
Magic of thinning the body
Straightening up his torso, he grew about three and a half feet instantly
Magic of shortening the ground and moving the mountain
He changed at once into a cloth wrapper adorned with gold
Making the fire-repellent sign he hurled himself into the fire to search for the fiend
Water-division magic, he opened up a pathway for himself through the waves
changed himself into the form of one of those old Daoists
Magic of head cutting, his head came off with a swishing sound and grew a new one.
At once his belly closed up completely
At once he changed into a boy with the exact appearance of that child Guanbao.
Blew a mouthful of magic breath onto Eight Rules, whose body at once took on the form of the little girl.
Magic of invisibility
Wind-arresting magic
Magic of seizure
Magic of traction, taking hold of the two fiends and mounting the to head for the southeast
Changed at once into a herd of ferocious striped tigers, prowling and growling, which had the main road completely blocked
Grew to thousands of feet tall, body diminished in size until he became as small as a mustard seed.
Magic of Body-Vanishment, body to shrink and immediately became free of the ropes.
Changed into a tiny fly,
Changed with one shake of his body into an old, hungry hawk
Changed with one shake of his body into a pangolin
He shook his body and changed at once into a neat young priest,
Change with one shake of his body into the appearance of that Little Wind Cutter whom he first met on the road
He changed into a tiny mole cricket
With one shake of his body into a little bee
Change into the form of the Tang Monk
He changed with one shake of his body into a moth
Changed back into an ant
Magic of Passage, He shrank his body and climbed out of the ropes
At once he changed into a little firefly,
Mouthful of immortal breath toward the ground on the southwest. Immediately a gust of dark wind blinded the people's eyes, and only then could the pilgrims proceed.
Spell of release, bandits gradually regained consciousness
That is at least MOST of the times that Wukong has used magic and that is undoubtedly more than what he can do considering that 'changing' your form is just one thing.
Again this is NOT his list of 72 transformations, just a list of what he has used in the book.

Encyclopedia Brown thoughts: book 25
Encyclopedia Brown, Super Sleuth
General:
This is the last book not to be "Encyclopedia Brown and the Case of (the) (foo)".
It’s also the only book since Wilford Wiggins’ debut where he doesn’t appear.
The Case of the Hollow Tree:
Just from Maine to California? What about police chiefs in Alaska and Hawaii?
The Case of the Headless Ghost:
A pirate enthusiast named Davy Jones... Sobol really wasn't trying with these later books, was he?
The extra R in Fangs Liveright/Liverright's last name is back!
At least this case established Encyclopedia having a candy bar before he used it.
Still, it would have been nice if this universe had been given some established ghost lore to keep the solution from being utter Bravo-Sierra.
The Case of the Stolen Moonstone:
As I stated earlier, scorpions aren't insects, so they shouldn’t be in Rico’s insect collection.
Officer Lopez is a woman, as established in this and earlier cases, but the illustration shows a mustachioed man. o_O
Minor gemological nitpick: Moonstones are generally more blue than white.
The Case of the Disappearing Hundreds:
I think Mr. O'Hara's drugstore has been mentioned before, but I can't remember.
What happened to the hundred-dollar bill intended for George? If I were Mr. O'Hara, I would have exchanged it for two fifties and given one each to Bob and Wendy.
The Case of the Patriotic Volunteer:
Because of course only the Tigers would have non-serious ideas... I, for one, like the idea of a swimming pool in every backyard. :)
To be fair, I also like the idea of better pay for schoolteachers, if only because my sister is one. @newhampshireraccoon
What kind of idiot doesn't know that the President lives in the White House? :P
The Case of the Stolen Watch:
We get it, Sobol. You don’t like modern art. We. Get. It.
"Punctual Pete" has got to be one of the lamest nicknames I've ever seen.
I think this is the final appearance of Pablo Pizarro.
The Case of the Gym Bag:
What, if any, are Fleet's and Baldy's real names?
Sheesh, what an obvious solution. Of course the bag with hair gel belongs to the kid who doesn't have a nickname based on the fact that he shaves his head before every race.
I'm glad that Fleet made it to the stamp store in time, but I really can't picture a teenager having a stamp collection.
The Case of the Supercomputer Brain:
Of course we have to have two cases with teenage villains in a row... at least the previous one also had a good teenager.
This presumably takes the place of the standard Wilford Wiggins case for this book.
He's willing to call people liars with extremely specious proof, but at least Encyclopedia doesn't want to call anyone a liar without proof.
George Perkins is pretty stupid for a genius.
The Case of the Giggling Goldilocks:
At least they acknowledge the stupid punny names this time... -_-
Mary is a really popular name in Idaville.
Would it really have taken that much effort for Sobol to make up brands of cereal for Goldie to steal, rather than just using generic names?
For that matter, couldn't he have made up a superhero instead of just saying that Patrick sleeps on "sheets with pictures of superheroes"?
The Case of Shoeless Sam:
I wonder if the Gators or the Sluggers are the same team as the Idaville Indians, but with a politically-correct rename?
I've said it before, but there are no mountains in Florida for Shoeless Sam to have come down from. But maybe he went to Georgia or some other neighboring state?
There are a lot of pizza places in Idaville. Just saying.
Three books left!

Seattle Office of Inspector General’s Report on 2020 Protests
On July 22, 2021 the Seattle Office of Inspector General (OIG) released its first report on the SPD abuses during BLM protests in 2020. The OIG created this mutant example of "truth and reconciliation" without much truth and with reconciliation that didn't involve 99.99+% of the people abused and injured by the SPD. This creates a terrible and falsified record.
In brief, the OIG report recapitulates some stuff from the 1999 WTO protest investigations and some just plain lame and goofy stuff, like SPD officers should be allowed to show empathy/camaraderie with protesters so that the protesters will chill out. The OIG report suggests that misunderstandings between the police and protesters drive police abuse and that resolving these will make it all better, an ignorant and obscene perspective. Since the OIG set out to not assign blame, and our current policing system has no means to obtain accountability, there remains -- as there did after the WTO in 1999 -- absolutely no incentive for cops to change behavior rooted in generations of culture.
Who was on the OIG panel?
The OIG has kept secret -- in public presentations to the City Council and the Community Police Commission -- exactly who made up their panel and participants (aka "SER Participants") and how they were chosen. We now have the answer, at least as to who was chosen, buried in the appendix of the report on page 73: out of 23 participants, 13 are tied to the policing system (current or past SPD, CPC, & OIG folks), 5 are paid facilitators or consultants, and 5 are "community" members (4 of those are executive directors of non-profits or academics). Only one of these people are identified as a non-SPD officer who was part of the protests: that one person is not someone known to myself or anyone else I have spoken with in the community.
Not a single Seattle journalist has so far even questioned or looked into who made up the OIG panel. If they had they would have discovered not just the paucity of community and protester involvement, but also that  four of the five SPD officers involved had over 20 years with the SPD and have a long and troubling history with protests and/or policing (not counting the non-publicized complaints that lurk in their disciplinary files). These are the four SPD officers:
Assistant Chief Thomas Mahaffey (27 years with the SPD). The guy who ordered the East Precinct to be abandoned, despite claiming days prior that the "SPD received reliable intelligence from other agencies of intent to destroy buildings in Seattle" (which was the rationale for the SPD to prevent protesters from getting too close). He also shouted that "I will not give in to protesters" in a meeting with command staff and folks from the mayors office.
Lt. John Brooks (29 years with the SPD). In charge of the Community Response Group. He issued the order to unleash tear gas, blast balls, etc. during the June 1, 2020 Pink Umbrella incident. He is named in numerous other 2020 protest related complaints against the SPD. During a 2012 protest he approved the false arrest of local news photographer Alex Garland.
Lt. James Dyment (28+ years with the SPD). Works privately with Tiger Mountain Tactical (TMT, specializing in police crowd management using bikes as weapons) as a lead instructor. TMT describes Dyment as having developed "the first policy and training for bicycle crowd management stemming from experiences during the 1999" WTO. TMT goes on to extoll his experience as "only obtained from applying this training to supervising hundreds of managed events." In 2011 he was involved in hitting a pedestrian with his patrol car and an alleged false arrest. In 2015 he falsely arrested and accused a UW graduate student of kicking him at a BLM demonstration.
Sgt. Tyrone Davis (21.5 years with the SPD). In 2010 he got a search warrant on highly specious grounds, leading to an armed raid on an apartment where a guy was legally growing two pot plants (he had medical license to grow up to 15).
Who else was consulted during the OIG review?
Scouring the 110 page OIG report for any indication as to who else participated or was interviewed only reveals Rev. Harriett Walden from the Community Police Commission (CPC) and Omari Salisbury (from Converge Media and Rev. Walden's son). This is especially problematic given that Rev. Walden has participated in few demonstrations and repeatedly stated in CPC meetings over the last seven years the age old canard that many problems at local demonstrations result from the participation of "outsiders."
It is unclear which, if any, other protesters the OIG spoke with. It is doubtful that they spoke with those brutalized and falsely arrested by the SPD.
There is reason to question the OIG's honest engagement here: on August 13, 2020 the OIG held a public "listening session" for folks abused by the SPD over the prior months and they allowed protestors who spoke out about their abuse to be ambushed and demeaned by people working for and with the SPD. It was so horrible that the OIG refused to make the video public, ultimately releasing it to me after numerous public records requests.
Is what happened In 2020 unique to protests against police?
As someone who has organized dozens of protests in Seattle over the last 22 years it is overwhelmingly clear that the nature of the protest is almost wholly irrelevant: the SPD has acted with wanton abuse and violence during protests over free trade, climate change, the Iraq war, income inequality, etc. Do Seattle police behave worse when they themselves are the subject of protest? Possibly. But the inherent nature of police culture -- racist, fearful of differences, authoritarian, conservative, and hyper-macho, all protected by a false sense of “us against them” solidarity and the “blue wall of silence” -- gives rise to abusive and violent reactions across a broad spectrum of issues when those issues involve questioning the status quo or traditional societal values.
Looking over the SPD officers that participated in the OIG panel, three of the five have been heavily involved with policing protests since before the 1999 WTO protests, and were in a supervisory role during the 2020 protests. So the notion that their abuses were just mistakes or miscommunication is obscene. So too is the notion that these folks can some how learn to do better: they are doing exactly what they believe is necessary and then telling false stories after-the-fact to rationalize their behavior. They have been doing this for over two decades.
Assistant SPD Chief Mahaffey is of particular interest here. The OIG report looked at events between May 29 to June 1, 2020. In evaluating the events of June 1 (the "Pink Umbrella" incident) the OIG takes at face value the SPD claim  that tear gas was used because the "SPD’s stockpile of 'less lethal' or crowd control munitions had been largely expended in the past three days" (see p. 60 of the OIG report). The OIG fails to question this assertion, easily verified by looking at the SPD inventory records the OIG would have access to. Mahaffey gave a declaration to the US Federal Court in the Western District of Washington on June 11 that attempts to rationalize the abusive use of less-lethal weapons on demonstrators and fails to make any mention of this shortage (this was in response to local groups successfully getting an injunction against the SPD’s abuse of these weapons). Seems like the "we ran out of other shit to hurt people with" excuse was invented after June 11, 2020.
Similarly the OIG fails to question the repeated assertion, from the SPD and city officials, that the reason the SPD had to keep folks away from the East Precinct was because the "SPD received reliable intelligence from other agencies of intent to destroy buildings in Seattle." In KUOW's analysis as to how the East Precinct was abandoned there is the claim from Seattle Fire Chief Scoggins that if the precinct burns the whole block would go up, including over 100 apartments. If the entire block going up in flames was a genuine concern, why did Mahaffey abandon the precinct? And if fire could so easily spread from the nearby apartments to the precinct why didn't anyone try to burn those apartments having such easy access to the area? Why weren't police protecting the apartments?

These 4 wildlife parks will make you fall in love with fauna
It is usual touristy nature that on a trip abroad, we make a checklist of the all heritage spots we want to visit and shop at definite places. But we often miss out on checking out the lush wildlife of the particular country. Wildlife is something which varies according to the geographical location. Hence if you are splurging money to visit a specific country, then you must also visit the places which showcase its rich wildlife. We have made a list of such places to visit on your Singapore Malaysia Thailand tour packages.
1.     SINGAPORE NIGHT SAFARI
This safari was opened in 1994 and claims to be world’s first nocturnal wildlife park. There is a guided tram ride which takes you across six geographical zones of the world such as rugged Himalayan foothills, swampy banks of the Asian Riverine Forests, African Savannah and so on. One can even take a walking trail to take a glimpse of animals which are not possible to spot from tram. This tour is incomplete without watching the well known Thumbuakar Performance where the tribal warriors show their fiery skills and stunts and the Creatures of the Night Show which shows the natural abilities of some fascinating nocturnal animals. The Ulu Ulu Safari Restaurant is a unique dining restaurant with a traditional village ambiance serving fast food to local delicacies. This is surely a treat to watch animals in their natural habitat from so close in night time.
2.     SAFARI WORLD BANGKOK
The Safari World Bangkok is a drive through zoological park which is divided into mainly two parts. The first part is mainly Safari park which features hundreds of animals throughout the world and includes wildlife feeding shows. One can take their own car or can take a ride of safari luxury coaches for ride. The other part is Marine Park which includes white tiger shows, jungle cruise river ride, water ski, spy war stunt, cowboy stunt, sea lion show, and dolphin show and so on. There are two buffet restaurants and two fast food restaurants also in the park which serve delicious Thai as well as international food. This park is must a visit to catch a glimpse of animals all around the world in the most convenient way.
3.     NAM NAO NATIONAL PARK SINGAPORE
Nam Nao National Park is situated in the mountainous forests of Phetchabun and Chaiyapum provinces in Northeast Thailand. It is an easily accessible and there is a head quarter providing all information and facilities. The head quarter has a visitor center and other administrative buildings, three flat and specious camping zones, three restaurants which are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., two shops and toilet/shower facilities. Nam Nao National Park is part of Western Isaan Forest Complex including three other national parks and four wildlife sanctuaries covering 4,594 km2 all together. The park houses the famous Tam Yai Nam Nao which is the third longest known cave in Thailand; it has 5 entrances and impressive formation of stalagmites and stalactites. Haew Sai and Sai Tong Waterfalls are the two famous waterfalls accessible from a trail 17.5 km east from checkpoint at the main road. Phu Pha Chit Summit is the highest peak of the park which offers splendid views of sunset and sunrise.

Bhutan Tour 4 Night 5 Days
Best places to visit in Bhutan
Bhutan, one of the best travel destinations in the World. Traveling to Bhutan is like a dream come true for travelers. It is difficult to choose what to see and what not to see while traveling to an unknown place for the first time. Many people only spend a few days in Bhutan due to its fee and which is $250 per person per day. It can be difficult choosing what to see and do to make the most of your money. So we have created the list of the collections so that the time and money will be saved and you will get a chance to Travel the most popular places.
People often used to travel for 4 DAYS IN BHUTAN. And I think it will be enough time to cover all the highlights.
1. TIGER'S NEST MONASTERY – (TAKTSANG MONASTERY)
Taktsang Monastery, famously known as Tiger Nest Monastery. It is is located in Paro, Bhutan. The monastery is one of the most venerated places of pilgrimage in the Himalayan and one of the best travel locations in Bhutan. The Monastery is quite closer to the airport so this could be the 1st place to visit.
The climb to the monastery takes about 3 hours at a comfortable pace but frequent trekker and can complete it in about 2 hours. The best thing about this place is the location and the spectacular views on the cliff which seems as if cliffs are going to the Monastery.
The maximum altitude of the Monastery is up to 3000m.
2. BUDDHA DORDENMA
Being one of the most popular countries of Buddhism, Bhutan is well known for the monastery and The Peace places. The majority of people follow Buddhism and they worship lord Buddha as a symbol of peace. And the Buddha Dordenma is one of the major attractions of Bhutan. Standing at 51m height, the idol is the symbol of prosperous and peaceful. The statue was finished in 2015 on the specious occasion of the 60th anniversary of fourth king Jigme Singye Wangchuck. The best part of the place is there are one hundred thousand small statues all over the house and each of the statues are exactly looks like a Buddha Dordenma itself. These statues are made of bronze and gilded in gold.
You can see the true art of hills from the house of Buddha Dordenma.
3. Thimphu
Thimphu is the capital of the outstanding country Bhutan. Thimphu is the largest city in the kingdom and is situated in the western part of central Bhutan, in one of the country’s most stunning valleys. The city is a widely spread out place that lies on the banks of the Wang Chhu River. The valley is surrounded by beautiful mountains and hills. We can see the mesmerizing views of the Thimphu valley from the height of 2000m and you will see the real setup and beauty of that place. Travelers often used to spend the whole day exploring the valley. The lifestyle and the unique traditions of that place will surely attack the travelers all around the world.
4. Paro valley
Paro is a district, valley, river, and town in Bhutan. With a population of about 20,000, this small valley is so popular for beauty and purity. The dominant language in Paro is Dzongkha the national language. The Paro valley is one of the most historic valleys in Bhutan so it is popular and the major attraction for travelers. It is the first place you will see when you enter the country and with this view no doubt you will surely explore the place. The main street of the city is filled with rich and complex architecture, including cafes and restaurants. The valley is so popular for the antique. You will surely be amazed when you visit this place.
Dubbed as the “Land of the Thunder Dragon”, Bhutan is the country of pride and peace. Hidden in the majestic of Himalayas mountains, Bhutan is one of the oldest countries in the world. Bhutan is full of mysteries and interesting things. The history of Bhutan is all famous for the occurrence and establishment of the nation. The country is also known as the only traditional Himalayan Buddhist culture still exists in the world and one of the most popular Buddhist country in the world.

Kunstverein München presents A rock that keeps tigers away, an exhibition featuring new and recent works by Beth Collar, Tania Pérez Córdova, Jason Dodge, Laura Kaminskaite, Simon Dybbroe Møller, Francesco Pedragio, Adrien Tirtiaux, Freek Wambacq, and Herwig Weiser. Together, their works contest common notions of cause and effect by considering the inextricable relation between causation and correlation.
The project will consist of an exhibition spanning the Kunstverein’s three main exhibition rooms, foyer, and Kino, along with a special program of screenings, performances, and lectures, and a new publication (co-produced with Roma Publications, Amsterdam).
Homer: Not a bear in sight. The Bear Patrol must be working like a charm. Lisa: That’s specious reasoning, Dad. Homer: Thank you, dear. Lisa: By your logic I could claim that this rock keeps tigers away. Homer: Oh, how does it work? Lisa: It doesn’t work. Homer: Uh-huh. Lisa: It’s just a stupid rock. Homer: Uh-huh. Lisa: But I don’t see any tigers around, do you? Homer: Lisa, I want to buy your rock.
In a 1996 episode of ‘The Simpsons’, Homer Simpson demonstrates the classic logical fallacy of ‘cum hoc ergo propter hoc’ (‘with this, therefore because of this’). What Homer doesn’t recognize is that just because two variables occur together – in this case, a rock and a lack of tigers – doesn’t mean one causes the other. As a statistician would say, correlation does not imply causation!
Newton said that for every action, there must be an equal and opposite reaction – nothing happens without being caused! But modern physics, psychoanalysis, recent ‘object-oriented’ philosophy and affect theories, as well as many contemporary artists, dispute this conception. And this has yielded more nuanced views on how things interact, relate, and associate. The exhibition surveys how artists identify correlations and coincidences to connect disparate phenomena across time and space, how simple shifts in circumstances yield palpable results elsewhere, and how the juxtaposition of objects modifies their individual meaning, utility, and apprehension.

Featuring philosophical essays, timelines, quotations, poems, ‘spurious correlations’, interviews, and other materials, the publication serves both as an extension of the exhibition and as a theoretical grounding.
