The Weight of Water: Khaled’s Story

5 am. Wake up to the frozen dark. You feel the cold before you remember where you are, then who you are. It makes less and less sense every time. You look up at the concrete ceiling and it all comes crashing back down on you again. A year of this and it hasn’t gotten any easier to wake up—it just gets heavier, and heavier, and heavier. It screeches in pain as it adjusts to the waking world, but you let it join every other scream you ignored last night. You have to get water today, just like yesterday, and the day before, and before, and before…

There’s something else you have to do first, though. Your brothers join you in the back-breaking, kilometers-long trek for water, and your sister and mother help make the bread from the flour you buy at the market—but who makes the money for that? That’s on you, now. Not your father, not anymore. Before the war, you used to fantasize about this, about taking care of everyone. You were going to school to make so much money that no one born in your family name would ever have to lift a finger again. Now your job is sending your story to Westerners online, desperately hoping they can send enough money to buy a bag of flour.

The money trickles in slowly. Not only is it hard to manage the outreach and carry the water and buy the flour and patch the windows and comfort the baby and look for medicine and—God, is it going to end soon? You’re so tired. You’re so, so tired… and it’s gotten worse.

Recently you found a website with users more sympathetic to your cause. The website itself, though, is hostile; it sees you as a scammer, as a pest. It’s blocked your messages from reaching your helpers, the people who have helped bring in the money that has kept your family alive. You make another account, and message your helpers, but they won’t respond. You plead with them in their language and it still does nothing. Why are they ignoring you? Have you become another scream in the distance? Was that all it took for them to leave you?

Before the war, you used to swim in the sea for hours, surrounded by water on all sides. You would float on your back and close your eyes to the sun. The water could have carried you forever.

So it seems that Tumblr may have caught onto my shenanigans and prevented me from frauding further. However, Harumichi fans, not all hope is lost! You can make a difference! Because, you see, it is actually pathetically easy to do fraud on Tumblr polls!

The basic principle is just making a bunch of alternative accounts and using them to vote in the poll. And you may think, okay, sure, but to make a new account you need an email address, and then Tumblr makes you verify your email and follow a bunch of tags and blogs before it lets you do anything else, and that's such a drag, right? Not so!

You see, Tumblr is a broken platform, and there are three big holes in its system that make voter fraud so easy:

When you enter an email address to register, Tumblr does not check to see if that email address is at all valid. Emails I have used include vote123@vote.com, ajfhkdkhfl@ymail.com, vote+harumichi@gmail.com, khdld@hdlxi.com, etc. You get the picture. All Tumblr checks for is that the email seems like it's theoretically an email address, i.e. [some string of characters]@[something that looks like a domain name]. It does not require you to verify this email address in order to vote in polls.

When you register, Tumblr does automatically take you to the "Getting to know you" screen, which is where it will tell you to follow a bunch of tags and blogs before it takes you to the dashboard. You do not have to do this! You can easily get around it by just typing "tumblr.com" into the address tab, which will take you to the dash, or in this case, going directly to the poll post where it will then treat you as a logged in user and allow you to vote.

Lastly: if you delete an account, Tumblr will allow you to immediately sign back up using the exact same email address. So you don't even need to keep coming up with different emails! And votes from deactivated blogs still count towards a poll's total! You can just have one email address and password, sign up, go to the poll, vote, deactivate, and then start the process all over again. And the benefit of reusing the same email every time is that you can save it to your browser's autofill, something that's worked wonders for me.

Below are the more granular directions for voter fraud that I sent out back during the first iteration of this bracket, when I was trying to give Wangxian a boost, which I then reused for Hualian and Griddlehark. Sadly, it doesn't seem that anyone took me up on it. Admittedly, it's pretty unhinged to be doing all this over Tumblr polls. Yes, I should probably touch grass. But we make our own fun in life, and I love to click buttons and win. So if you like Harumichi, and want to fight the fight where I cannot, here's how you can do it!

Open the poll post in a private/incognito tab.

In a second private/incognito tab, go to tumblr.com/register

Enter a random email address and password. If your browser has an autofill function, saving these will make the process faster. If not, just make sure you can recall them for later. Using the same email/password every time will help!

Enter a birthdate. Any birthdate will do. For maximum efficiency on desktop, simply type J - Tab - 1 - Tab - 1, to autofill January 1, 1999.

Enter any random username/URL. A keysmash will do. Click "Sign up".

Tumblr will take you to the "Getting to know you page". Ignore this. Instead, switch to the tab with the poll in it. Refresh the page and cast your vote.

Switch back to the other tab that had the "Getting to know you" page. Use it to go to tumblr.com/account/delete. Having that link saved to your clipboard during this whole process will speed things up so that you can simply paste it in every time.

Enter the previously used email and password and delete the account.

Tumblr will give you a "Sign up again" button. Click it, and it will redirect you back to tumblr.com/register

Repeat until satisfied!

Generally, what was happening to me before was that after about 40ish repetitions of this, Tumblr would block me from registering further, but I was able to get around this by using a VPN to change my IP address, and it usually reset this limit after an hour or so. More recently though, it seems to have blocked me completely; maybe they've instituted some sort of device limit? Unsure. But either way, every vote counts! Go forth and fight!

I was debating on making this post because honestly like nothing is happening but I'm seriously pissed off and I just want to get it off my chest, idgaf if I get a response or not and idgaf if I get backlash for this, because you dragged me into this, ima give my opinion no matter who is lying and who isn't.

Before I get into this, I want to quickly say, this isn't like my usual posts, this is going to be rather serious and probably really long so please bare with me. If you'd rather see my other posts, then ignore this one and just enjoy the content I put on here.

I never expected to be pulled into some random ass drama. I didn't want to give it attention but I can't just like sit back and watch this shit happen anymore because I'm seriousslyyy pissed off with all of this drama and how people have been reacting to it. I have every right to say my piece seeing as I've been pulled into it for no reason whatsoever.

So, I randomly decided to come online and I noticed I had been tagged in a post by @/voidmysteries and naturally, I was confused and curious so I clicked it. It was a post basically saying that someone (@/fairykittz8) was claiming to know @/luvmanifesting and that they were trying to... Harm their reputation? Now, before I go into anything. I find it unbelievably funny how so many people immediately jump onto a person who has had void success stories and claimed they're lying, which is what I've seen happen to @/fairykittz8. It's honestly disrespectful, no one owes you proof they've manifested things in the void, or in any way for that matter.

I'm not on anyone's side here, even if I may sound biased. The reason why, is because neither side has proof. I can't say "this person is lying about their post" because how tf should I know? However, I'm going based on half of the shit that's gone on tumblr and shit that's been said and done.

I went on @/voidmysteries' account and I saw the post they reposted before they made their original post, and saw how originally people were claiming that Kaylee (@/fairykittz8) was actually @/luvmanifesting. Do you know how disrespectful it is to basically say both of these people are lying with 0 proof + saying they're the same person, just because you want to actually see fucking proof of a manifestation for your own validation and because you don't want to believe that people are fucking limitless. I get people can be skeptical, but fucking hell, mind your own damn business? Like I said, no one owes you anything. Yes, people lie, unfortunately it comes with any community, but it isn't your job, to dig into it. If you believe someone is lying, and you ACTUALLY have proof, then sure. Go ahead, call them out in a respectful and mature way. But just because two people may have had the same name, or the same similar desires, does NOT mean they are the same fucking person. Grow up.

On the post that was reposted, Kaylee did respond and both creators left it on some what "good" terms, basically just saying no one was going for anyone, which is completely fair. However, @/voidmysteries, then made their post. I was rather confused because they were saying Kaylee has done this before and has ruined multiple creators reputations by claiming that they know them? I don't get how someone lying and claiming to know someone can harm another's reputation but obviously I haven't seen anything like that. Therefore, despite my opinion on it, I can't say much. A lot of this shit that is going on has little to no proof. They also claimed to be a big creator who was a victim of something like this with Kaylee, however decided to keep themselves anonymous due to the fact they de-activated their account. The thing I find rather convenient is that all of these bloggers who have allegedly had their reputation destroyed by Kaylee, have deleted their accounts?? Surely if there are so many harmed by this person, you'd remember at least one of them.

Secondly, they said how Kaylee is doing this for fame? If you go on their account, they barely have any notes whatsoever apart from their void success story. No, they did not get their fame from saying they know @/luvmanifesting. They got their fame most likely from their void success story. You have to understand, most people don't actually really care about who is mutuals with who on here, it's all about "how did you get into the void?" And shit like that. So, immediately claiming Kaylee has done this for fame is just a little off in my opinion.

This is where I come in. @/voidmysteries basically @'d my account and said that I, along with some other rather popular and more relevant accounts as of recently, are at risk of Kaylee if we choose to leave? Why are we specifically the accounts that are at risk? It's a little weird that we've randomly been chosen like we've been put in a fucking sorting hat like how do you know WE are the ones at risk? Also, at risk of what? Like what, we go off our accounts and then someone claims to know us, what the fuck is that going to actually do to us? It doesn't change the advice and shit we've put on here.

If Kaylee is lying about knowing @/luvmanifesting and other creators, then they're lying. Simple. There's not really much to it. Yet at the end of the day, it's all he said she said. You have no proof that Kaylee is lying, Kaylee has no proof that she actually knows Ayami. You say that they're trying to ruin people's reputation but what's to say you aren't doing the same thing?

All of this was incredibly random. I also don't get why people keep making these god damn burner blogs for shitty drama like this. You can always tell too because they never change their profile picture from the original tumblr pic. They keep it the same way, post things for like 2 days and then leave as if nothing happened.

Something that swung me the wrong way for everyone in this situation is that everyone's comments are off. I get why Kaylee might have done it due to the harassment that has come her way (which I'll speak about in a moment) but for @/voidmysteries and the person I'm about to speak about, it makes little to no sense. I just found that rather weird on all of their sides so I wanted to mention that.

Finally, I went on Kaylee's blog and I noticed someone was literally harrassing her aka @/therealphynx. It is so fucking disgusting, no matter what the fuck someone has done, to make insults like they did is fucking horrific. Even if Kaylee was lying, it does NOT justify your actions at all. Making fun of r*pe victims and disabled people is completely out of line and genuinely disgusting. Even after she blocked you, you still went on and on, being desperate for her to unblock you so you could continue to harrass her. Are you fucking serious? You don't need to believe in what other people have manifested, but harrassing them in such a way like this is a new fucking low and I hope to god you fucking read this part of the post. You are disgusting and need serious help. All of that just because you didn't get proof of what someone else manifested? Get a fucking grip.

I seriously hope this community can actually fucking grow from this shit because I'm getting so sick and tired of all of this he said she said bullshit. I know a lot of people have lied, but even with the posts they've lied in, people have still gotten motivation to go and manifest the shit they want. So doing all of this, with no proof, is pathetic. + I know I have no proof Kaylee is telling the truth and I ain't backing Kaylee in any way shape or form whether they're lying or not. Once again, I have no proof for either side here, but why don't you lot just handle shit maturely rather than creating posts to get fame off of and portraying them as "awareness."

I don't usually tackle cases that are on youtube, but for the sake of investigating whether or not something is ai generated I'll do it.

However, I can't call this ai trash just because they generate art from ai.

The real deciding factor would involve a few things:

Does this channel tell people that some of the pictures are ai generated?

Does this channel credit any images they use online?

Are they using ai to mislead and/or farm content solely for monetization purposes?

Only one way to find out.

Ok, so right out of the gate, we don't see any links to images.

TL;DR:

Yes, Facts by Briggs is a content farm.

Yes, it uses ai art. BUT...

It also uses images off the internet and doesn't credit artists.

Briggs himself is not an original creation, but an avatar that you can easily use on Adobe Express. It's probably how most of the videos were created.

Facts by Briggs has a lot of social media accounts, as seen on their Linktree, including one on LinkedIn and one on a Kofi-like site.

What Facts by Briggs doesn't have on the Linktree is a tumblr. One that has a domain. This goes against what was said in the Kofi, which states that they are struggling with money.

Facts by Briggs reblogs posts by a London hip-hop dj/rapper named CANMKING.

CANMKING replies and reblogs numerous posts by Facts by Briggs, along with five other accounts (reallysmalls, ongawdclub, needgoodgraphics, ctkvi, and rileyfrankcap (A news based content farm). Facts by Briggs also replies to posts made those five accounts. CANMKING is the oldest account out of the total seven, so we assume that the six are sockpuppets that astroturf his tumblr posts.

ctkvi deals with ai video and audio, and needgoodgraphics has a service that, and I'm probably guessing here at the moment, artificially boosts your instagram account by astroturfing it.

TL;DR for the TL;DR:

CANMKING is a rapper/dj from London who uses sock puppets, astroturfing, bots, content farms, and straight up kofi scams to gain success.

...and he made those content farm videos all in Adobe Express.

To prove it, I reverse engineered a Facts by Briggs video.

Mostly.... I know Facts by Briggs uses ai voices... but I don't want to make another account just to access the ai voice add-on. So I used the legendary "Why You Lying?" instead.

I only found one post that talks about CANMKING's scamming efforts, but they've only scratched the surface.

If any of you have any more info about CANMKING that's not listed up here, do let me know.

Hello!!! I suppose I'd like to start by saying apologies for any frustration my messy ass tumblr may have caused. I do most of my character development and infodumping on discord now, so my tumblr has gotten kinda neglected on account of me A- not knowing what I have and haven't shared on here, B- not having much motivation to collect thoughts and post on here, and C- not really expecting newer people to discover/care about him, which is kinda stupid ig lmao.

Otherwise!! I'll be sure to write out a big long yap about Elias's actual character and development, since I've been kinda intending to but just haven't had the motivation and keep forgetting. Again, apologies, since I know everything and yap about it sm elsewhere I don't really think about how confusing it may be. Uh, for basics/beginnings tho, I do have a fic for him, which I'm actually working on the next chapter for rn. Lanyon basically accidentally takes the HJ7 the night after blackfog and everything, and poof, Elias!

Design wise tho!! I made him back in March of last year, so before a decent bit of recent Lanyon development, and while he has changed a decent bit, he's still mosttttly the same designwise. Making him white honestly wasn't really an idea I had? Hyde retains most all of Jekyll's structure outside of his hair and body size, so I wanted Elias to still look very close to Lanyon but different enough that it wouldn't be "obvious". His skin is cooler instead of lighter or darker, mainly bc changing the color too much did feel a bit odd, but mainly for design and like,, logical reasons, I suppose. It just felt odd that the potion would completely change the color of his skin to such a degree, personally. His eyes are green bc of the potion, bc I'm simple like that 💔 they're also a different shape, for reasons I can't quite remember, ngl. I also changed his nose shape?? a decent bit?? Mainly bc I used to draw Lanyon a bit differently than how he was in canon bc my memory was off, but I've been fixing that in recent artworks. I made his hair blond bc I felt like the potion would have more of a bleaching effect on hair than a "recessive genes" type thing, plus it was just something unnatural and eye catching and messy. Uhhhh, clothes was a bunch of trial and error honestly, but I knew I wanted a messier and less "gentlemanly" style, hence the open collar. Higher society and expectations suffocate him, so why not let Elias breathe freely?

Also the "white Elias" joke image I mentioned in the tags was simply an edit someone asked for while I was messing around with colors on a piece I had drawn a while ago, lmao. basically saying "lol what if you gave him the ginger Lanyon color pallet" and it certainly looked odd, but still merely a joke.

Additionally!!! I love your design, he's very cute and squishable :33 your reasonings are also quite interesting /pos (your style is also very yummy)

like I said, I'll try to get a big ramble post about the basics of him uploaded, but for now the best thing I can turn you towards is the fic I mentioned, at least until I can get all the info collected and written out. im gonna start posting fanfic recs btw whenever i find good ones. both here and my (awfully barren) 18+ account. because there are so many good fics out there with so few hits and fewer kudos and sometimes no comments period and it SUCKS because i REALLY LIKE THEM A LOT.. and i hope that by linking them here and yelling at everyone to COMMENT DAMMIT they might actually do it

seriously though any comment means a lot. most people who read a fic don’t even give a kudos. even if the fic wasn’t top tier, if you didn’t dislike it, hand over some kudos!! and if you liked it, comment!!!! even if the comment is one singular heart emoji it will be appreciated. if the comment just says “great fic!” the author will be happy. your comment doesn’t have to be this long winded gushing or analysis.

so many authors quit writing or lose motivation because the comments are few and far in between or just sometimes nonexistent. trust me when i say authors don’t care about how long or cool or smart sounding your comment is i promise!!!

i hope that mmmaybe recommending fics and telling people to comment might help fics i really like get more support maybe. and i, points at you reading this, hope that you will listen!!!at least a little….at least sum kudos….

By attacking my friends. The very people I hold dear. And then you attack me. Now, I haven’t been targeted until now. I guess that’s because you idiotically thought I was on your side. But the moment that you find out I wasn’t you respond with childish name calling.

You are nothing but a sorry motherfucker who is crying for attention. In the month I have known you, I have had reports of you “killing yourself” just to come into that same persons DMs a few hours later.

Next is a quote from @/the-insufferable-trickster. They posted this on their main account so I hope they are okay with me quoting them on this.

“I'm not really sure what LLD has said about me, something about how I they 'don't want to be my friend' or some other silliness. That's not the truth. The truth? I originally wrote them a message in dm stating that trying to find Taco's phone number and location was not safe and that as adults of this webbed site, we need to make better choices. That lead to an account called 'llamapunch-69' attacking my old main blog. I am talking hundreds of messages in mere minutes, calling me insults, names, the r slur, and that I needed to 'apologize' or they would 'haunt me' and 'ruin me.' That terrified me greatly and I first sent an ask with my apology. Llamapunch-69 [which really is an alt of LLD] didn't stop. They demanded that my apology be 'real' that I dm it privately to them. And I did because at this point I was terrified of what they would do if I didn't apologize. LLD and I talked, smoothed things over and we ended up exchanging discords.

Our relationship lasted maybe 2-ish days? Not even a week. It was mostly LLD dumping to me about all these 'horrible' bullies and what they were doing to them. And I believed it. Until I was at work for an 8 hour shift and severely overwhelmed by the amount they texted me. I unfriended them on Discord. I never blocked them, I unfriended them for the sole purpose of regaining myself and my plan was to continue talking after work. That never happened. When I got off work I found a message on tumblr from LLD which can be summed up as "goodbye, I am ending myself." And more from llamapunch-69 [Well an alt of llamapunch] telling me that if 'their friend hurts themselves they are blaming me.' This led to an ask from an account I had never met before called manifest-your-destiny. They politely said in the ask that they were LLD's friend and that they wanted to know what LLD did in order to get 'blocked.'

That led to an almost two hour conversation over Tumblr between Manifest and I. I apologized again and again for unfriending them and tried to explain over and over that no I didn't hate them, no I didn't mean to upset them, that it was not my intention.

Mind you I had gotten off work maybe twenty minutes ago. My job involves a lot of high activity and I was exhausted and emotionally drained. Yet I continued to pour from an empty pitcher and apologizing for daring to unfriend them.”

This poor individual was attacked for something that did not deserve being attacked over. This has hurt them dearly. And as they said, they also took time out of their busy and tired life to deal with all of this shit.

Here’s another quote from them “In this conversation I was actually near tears because as the time stamp shows it was 11:14pm at night. I wanted to go to bed and just relax, but instead I am apologizing and in tears from trying to explain the same concepts.”

All of your shit has impacted these people very much. And I have tried my best to deal with the fall out with those close to me. But now, I am coming for you directly. This has to stop. If you want to target someone, target me you mother fucking bastard.

You don’t deserve the time nor attention any one of these amazing people have given you. And yet, here I am once again wasting my time on you. You want to know why? Because I am actually a good fucking person who cares about people. I care about my friends. And I will do anything to help them. So if you want to scrap, I am available. Send all your shitty little messages to me. Send all the hate my way.

But if you ever hurt one of my friends again, I promise there is no place on earth or hell you can hide where I won’t find you.

my question is this - i am a fanauthor. on the side i also write my own original fiction but i specialize in fanfic. Am I allowed to use your poetry for a reference folder? I wouldn't use your poetry in a fic without explicit permission and without linking back here of course, and I'd never use it for commercial work outside of maybe taking inspiration without copying, but I wanna have a ref folder of Things That Made Me Feel Things about a character. It's not planned to be public as of yet, it's just supposed to be a bunch of screenshots in my drafts, but I'd like to maybe one day make it public once the fic was complete.
