I’m a member of CPG Grey’s YouTube channel. And he did a video about how he now works on critiquing institutions rather than people. That really opened my eyes. It’s a little different for him because of the size of his Platform. I totally get not wanting people to go harassing individuals because of one of his videos.

But also it’s the institutional perspective that I find is often lacking when we talk about stuff like this.

I find it often leads to better conversations because no one feels like they are personally to blame for all the horrors(tm) of modern life. Rather than shooting ire at each other we shoot it at the institutions.

Not for nothing but bad institutions aren’t only bad. Bad institutions are good at staying around because they do benefit people in some way. Someone feeling pretty or themselves because of makeup isn’t bad or wrong or worse the enemy.

Rid yourself of this fucked mindset of: thing is either good or bad.

there is a huge difference between criticizing an institution and criticizing individual behavior. i can criticize the makeup industry without criticizing the 14 year old girl who uses concealer because she’s self-conscious about her acne; i can criticize the plastic surgery industry without vilifying the woman who decided to get a nose job after two decades of pointed comments and bullying. it is intellectually dishonest to respond to an institutional criticism as if it were a personal attack; on the flip side, it is cruel and unnecessary to leverage personal attacks in the name of institutional criticism

if i see one (1) more person respond to a perfectly reasonable beauty-industry-critical sentiment with “but i personally enjoy eyeshadow. why are you attacking people who like eyeshadow :(” or “exactly, all women who wear makeup are miserable and brainwashed” i am going to climb a tree and bite the top of it

I feel like i grew up on diet culture so much I just don’t even know how much of it is helpful and how much of it is slowly killing me and I don’t know. I would love a “healthier” lifestyle but im not 100% on what that is anymore. I just want to be kind to the soft creature that is my body.

The decision-making groups are made up of mixed employees of different departments. The numbers range between 5 and 8. Schlumberger makes use of market conditions to show the value of its large facilities. It also reduces their impression to lower costs and improve financial gain.

Uzbekistan project is under orderly producting

Egypt’s railway system is about to change significantly

Egypt’s rail network has more than 5000 kilometres of rail tracks and is therefore one of the largests in Africa. The first line was built in the 1850s so its the oldest network as well.

The network is used to shift about 6.5 million tonnes of fright each year and about 1.2 million people use the trains every single day.

In the year 2021 there have been multiple incidents which lead to many deaths and injuries. This is because of several reasons but the main ones are bad maintance of the tracks, trains and wagons that are way too old and a very low investment. Because of that Egypt’s rail network is now getting a complete overhaul.

The first phase of the plan will include a high-speed electrified rail line between Marsa Matrouh and Ain Sokhna, which will create more than 15,000 new jobs and transport about 30 million people per year . It will pass trough the greater Cairo region and has a total network length of 621 kilometres.

The second phase of the plan will expand the total length of the network to 1,800 kilometres, connecting the cities of Hurghada, Safaga, El Alamein, Aswan, as well as the new Adminastrative Capitol.

The German firm Simens will provide trains, signalling and general infrastructure such as power supply systems and it will also maintenance the network for around 15 years from now.

The completion of the first phase is scedueld for the year 2027 and the total cost of the project  is set to be about $23BN
