i don’t share a lot of change.org petitions but the CSO (combined sewer overflow) problem that’s largely exclusive to New England is hugely detrimental both to the public and to the wildlife that lives there; the heavy pollution is a huge part of why so many fish species like the Atlantic salmon haven’t been able to successfully return to spawn. i hugely recommend you sign this petition, whether you live in New England or not, by going here!

hey i don't know what writer needs to hear this today but you can have characters in your work who exist only to move the plot forward. you can create an oc for a fanfic who exists to ask a question at the right time and is never seen again. you can create a novel and have random characters that exist to move the story. characters are elements of narrative. not every single one has to have a whole backstory and a life fleshed out. sometimes they can just be there for a scene and then never be involved again. isn't that how life works? don't we meet people and then they vanish? aren't our lives simply moments spent to drive forward the plots of others? your character can be pointless. you character can exist in a moment. your character can take up space. your character can exist, even if you don't know their birthday and their mother's favorite song.

characters are not people. you do not have to make them into people unless you want to. you owe them nothing. use characters however you want in your story. develop them as is relevant. otherwise, it literally does not matter.

Thinking about how every story where some guy travels across dimensions involves him meeting a bunch of himself with different unique traits, and then one of them is just “you but a girl.” And you know what, it would be frankly hilarious to me if there was a story where dude goes to other dimensions and every alternate version of him is a woman. Surprise, he is the token guy variant of a usually-female character. :D

flowers doesnt fall with rivers, so flowers echo is just WAY up in the air after rivers collapses

if it were to be a playable campaign, i think one of the spires of the glacier would conveniently reach him so you could still see him post collapse too lol

AS FOR THE SECOND PART OF YOUR QUESTION, when flowers first becomes an echo he exists in a state where he is jumping uncontrollably between experiences and realities. one moment hes where he was when the bomb hit in the tundra surrounding rivers, next hes atop sliver of straw again, next hes in rivers cerebral cortex (where his echo resides in reality), and then suddenly hes with his wife again. hes flipping around between events and regrets so it is a Very long time before he is tethered enough into his new reality to even speak BUT OVER TIME HE DOES GET THERE. AND UM.

and for some time, rivers CAN hear him, broken and periodically. but he cant see him, his overseers cant see him, and rivers has been experiencing ptsd symptoms, so he thinks this is just another new and confusing break in his mind.

when rivers begins to go through with his plan to destroy the twins, his karma drops and he can no longer hear flowers. this is around the point where flowers is becoming more aware and stationary, and hes beginning to truly contemplate and reminisce, so he narrowly misses the chance to communicate anything meaningful to rivers
