In the grand hall of Azurith, where golden chandeliers glistened like captured stars and intricate tapestries whispered tales of forgotten times, there lived a servant named Elara. Her delicate features were a stark contrast to the opulence that surrounded her, but it was her spirit that shone brighter than any jewel in the kingdom.

Elara knelt at the feet of Lord Valerius, the ruler of Azurith. His eyes, as cold and unyielding as the marble statues that adorned the hall, observed her with an air of detached curiosity. The scent of exotic spices and roasted pheasant lingered in the air, mingling with the faint aroma of aged wine.

The task before her was simple, yet it held a profound weight. With steady hands, she removed the polished leather shoes from his feet, her fingers brushing against the embroidered hem of her apron. Despite her servitude, there was a quiet defiance in her gaze, a silent vow that one day, she would rise above the chains of her station.

As Elara looked up, the ornate ceiling painted with celestial scenes seemed to mock her plight. Yet, in the depths of her heart, she harbored a secret—a powerful magic that could alter the very fabric of their world. It was this magic that Lord Valerius sought to control, to bind to his will, and it was this magic that would one day break the chains that bound her.

Elara's destiny began to unfold in the hall's shadows, unseen by those who held power. A destiny that would lead her through trials and tribulations, love and loss, and ultimately, to a throne of her own making. Elara was destined to become more than she had ever dreamed in the land of Azurith, where the line between servant and sovereign was drawn in blood and magic.

Hi! My name is Karla.

You can find my writing journey and random thoughts, experiments—anything really—mostly poetry, though!

This is not my first foray into Tumblr, but I've never been an active member. About a year ago, I started posting; before that, I just watched in silence since I was fourteen, so bear with me.

At this time, I’m focused on connecting with fellow writers and readers here! I just finished a first draft and want to learn more about the publishing and writing community.

Birth Year: 1998

Writing Experience: I've been writing since 2020. I’ve taken this hobby seriously for about just one year.

Publishing Status: Currently editing my first book, "Bleeding Butterflies," and working towards publishing it soon, hopefully!

How Amazing Could This Ukrainian SFF Anthology Get?

On September 1, we launched a Kickstarter to fund Embroidered Worlds, an anthology of fantastic fiction from Ukraine and the diaspora. We are working to spread the word far and wide about this collection of Ukrainian authors, many of whom have never been translated into English before.

The more people we can reach during the Kickstarter campaign, the more incentives we can unlock to make this book even more special!

If we reach our $30,000 goal, we will hire three Ukrainian artists to create interior illustrations, and include those in all editions of the book. At $50,000 we will make available a limited-edition, numbered hardcover, with art prints of the cover and illustrations that can be framed.

HOW AMAZING WOULD IT BE TO HAVE ILLUSTRATED, LIMITED-EDITION NUMBERED HARDCOVERS WITH ART PRINTS!?!

We raised $10,000 in 4 days. Can we double that in a week?

Embroidered Worlds is scheduled for publication in December 2023. Anyone wishing to join in supporting the book has until Sept. 30 to do so, at levels ranging from a $1 ebook order to a $1,000 benefactor gift.

"The Spectral Sisterhood"

In the heart of the Neverlands, a domain teetering between the tangible and the spectral, roamed three ethereal entities known as the Triptych of Fated Femininity. Eternally bound to the world of the living, they manifested as wraiths, each with a poignant story of their mortal plight.

First was Tenebris, once a fearsome pirate queen. Known far and wide, she commanded her ship through treacherous waters with a temerity unmatched. It was her insatiable greed, however, that eventually led her to a cold, watery grave. Bound by her past, she drifted as a wraith, the essence of her audacious life echoing in her ethereal form.

The next was Vivara, a sorceress of unmatched beauty and allure. Consumed by vanity, she fell prey to her own magic in a quest for eternal youth. Trapped in her spectral form, she roamed the Neverlands, her tragic tale echoing the spell she had spun and the beauty she had desperately sought to retain.

Finally, there was Ossium, a queen who stood fearless in the face of war. With her kingdom at stake, she fought with unyielding spirit but was tragically slain in battle. Her spectral form lingered, a symbol of the realm she fought so valiantly to protect and the sovereignty she tragically lost.

Together, these three wraiths roamed the Neverlands. Their mortal tales were etched into their very beings, their shared feminine strength tying them together. Bound to wander in eternal restlessness, they remained forever lost between life and death.
