hahahahaaaaa ohhhhh this was The One i was most embarrassed about someone finding so great job!!! it's the cheesiest possible song i have for them but it is unfortunately so so perfect and it's one of my favourites. the final bridge regularly makes my eyes water

this song, with its narrative of escaping together and hiding away from things that hurt you both ("there are places up here we can hide//we'll be safe way up high") and that escape being in the sky/space in particular has an extremely strong link to awtdy au, where as things get worse and worse they wear the dream of running away to the stars together so thin it is practically transparent. additionally the 'create our own star' line is sooooo specific and yet!? honestly i did a double take when i found this track!

so yes. extremely cheesy but... if you like some poppy tooth-rotters in your ship, this is a great great song for it!

and regarding the picture itself: despite everything, they are happy in the end, i promise.

i do think whether it's more canon compliant or in an au, bandee is determined to reignite magolor's sense of wonder. he is, imo, just as smart and driven as magolor, if a little less ambitious. in awtdy au in particular bandee learns everything from astronautics to blacksmithing to microelectronics to astrogeology with great enthusiasm!

however unlike magolor, bandee knows how to turn these off in order to just relax or delight in things- like planetary rings- and he's going to make magolor remember how to do this too; even if it takes several dozen years 🍎

this is another one that's a little light on being super suitable, but the devotion in it gets me. devotion is a core trait of bandee's, so it stands out; and gentle electronic glitchbeats always make me think of them

somewhat of a soft angst anthem, i suppose? definitely awtdy au heavy, because magolor is especially smashed in it so bandee is always extra worried about him

this one is extraordinarily soggy magolor pov and awtdy au specific, set pre-relationship when they're still kind of figuring each other out. waves was actually one of the first explicitly 'relationship' coded songs i acquired for them. not all the lyrics hit spot on, but the overall vibe and feel is very tasty for a doubtful and stubborn character like magolor

i have songs for starstruck, i have songs for all my canon faves, i have songs for different individual scenes and different individual relationships and different individual story arcs.... songs for the extremely specific scenes that i see in my head. songs that i have constructed very elaborate amvs to that i will never be able to make...

i'd be happy to share some, but you might need to be a bit more specific!

edit: when i say 'more specific' i mean you could do things like "starstruck + bandee song" or "(character) angst arc" or something. i just say this because i have so many and i'd love to share some with you but this would help me to narrow it down!!

answering a couple of strike-outs from my top 100 music asks in a batch! i highly recommend this first one especially, but the rest will go under the cut!

55- the shade by Metric (asked by @trainerbob23) a strikeout; this is actually for one of my original projects (currently on the backburner) but i love it so i listen to it a lot

HOWEVER... that project is also a sci-fi story about escaping into space on a boat, so i could make it about magicapple or starstruck dee quite easily.
