Optimus will gain a little, pink parrot. Miko will be constantly hanging off the mech by the reinforced edges. If he ever goes out or move towards the door or ground-bridge portal, then he needs to use force to pry smoll War-Forged off because she's very much flyflyflyFlyFLY.

Miko has a new favorite mech, and everyone else will be jealous. They can't even comfort themselves with a "she only listens to Optimus because of the Matrix" excuse. Miko is a rabid creature that yearns for the abyss via deep waters or skyfall.

I was responding to an @magicalprofessorsludgedeputy old ask about insecticon queen Miko but when I saved it to my drafts to post later Tumblr APPARENTLY decided to disintegrate that post and banish the ashes to the shadow zone were it never can be found.

So I'll paraphrase what it said:

Magic was talking about how Miko valued individuality a lot so she would give Vechicons names to distinguish them. One notable one was a vechicon named wasp who has random beef with Bumblebee. They thought this was Miko claiming them I think? (My memory is not the best.) So they were very proud of it.

My response:

That's a really funny idea! I love the bit of Bee having beef with wasps so it's fun to see it the other way around.

I'm now picturing Miko naming a Vechicon ligma as a joke; she didn't mean it any serious way and it was not meant to be their real name. The Vechicon not understanding human sarcasm thought that was their true name. They were very proud of it and were going around talking about how powerful it sounded to everybody.

Miko would learn about Ligma when during a battle with Megatron would address Ligma with his old destination and they would proudly correct him. Miko is just off to the side desperately trying to not laugh. Her face is red, there's tears going down her eyes, and she's probably breaking a rib or two from keeping it in.

You got me hooked on the battle couple and since your the only dealer I'm making it your problem!

Imagine its not poetics or gifts or even battle prowess that wins miko over no. its his fucking musical ability!! Tarn gets it in his head to serenade his beloved with someones freshly removed head as a gift for good measure and for some reason that's what does it for miko who pounces him once the song is done. The next day tarn is walking with a limp hanging off her arm like a pampered trophy wife looking like he got mauled by a bear and miko looks far to pleased with herself.

It's funny because Tarn exhibits many qualities her kin appreciate, and frustrates her even more!

Her cousins would definitely roast her in a good-natured way because of the mysterious mech's dedication with fresh kills and lovely courting gifts.

Oh, and they match, too. Pink and purple complement each other!

Miko is sulking underwater because Cybertronians like to stay from it.

Of course, Tarn plants himself on the beach, bank, pier, or rockside to wait for her. If there's wide space, then he's writing scripts into the dirt and sand via his tank treads or using pretty rocks.

I don't know if it's funny or terrible if Tarn's ability doesn't injure Miko. Not out of fated bondmate bullscrap, but because her seablood heritage came out and sees it as not only a siren-like potential mate but entwined in the words are the undeniable score of her other half of a Soulsong.

Instead of pain, it enraptures.

Think of it as some sort of seablood catnip to the average seafolk, but on Miko? She can't tamp down the instinctual urge to warble out her own part.

Tarn is delighted over the fact that they'll have a private duet. Meanwhile, the others (minus Raf, Jack, and June) are increasingly disturbed by the haunting, ethereal noise that is enemanting from everywhere and nowhere as Miko gets back into singing in sea-tongue.

Not even the exquisite temperatures of a hotsprings could overcome their collective anxiety over it.

Jack and Raf calls them out for it because they managed to go against robot Satan and hordes of the undead, and yet a mating call is what spooks them the most.

It's the ambiance, they said. It's the middle of wild nature with an eerie back-and-forth echo of lovely yet haunting notes. Nothing else is disturbed by their sensors. Where is it coming?

It's Miko. Underwater. She knows how to suppress herself and hide her presence. She's enjoys hunting.

Probably culminates into this:

Miko: "What if I fuck him?"

Jack: "Don't do it."

Miko: "But I do it in a way he wouldn't expect it."

Jack: "Miko, I love you, and we spent lifetimes together, but I'm finding out things I don't know if I want to know."

Miko: "I'm gonna peg his ass."

Jack: "... What if he likes it?"

Miko (not listening): "I always wanted to peg an ass."

Jack (giving up): "Find a good harness then."

Raf (who's been there the entire time): "Ask about lube. You'll need it for aft ports."

Miko: "Ratchet’s been running away from me. I'm gonna need a trap because I need more info."

(Cue a reluctant sex ed for Cybertronian frames starring Ratchet with special guests' input on war-frames from Soundwave and Knock Out.)

Imagine miko introducing tarn to her parents. What would they think of him? Would they approve?

The Nakadai family keep to themselves in a little fishing village. Miko's parents are the rare exceptions - Izumi is an adventurous spirit and has a "wandering soul" by their standards and her twice-stolen husband (once by Elsewhere, once by her hand) is an excellent mercenary. Both have skills and experience too useful to truly settle both feet in one side of the world. Tokyo is quite the gateway, if you know where to look...

If Miko hadn't introduced Jack and Raf to her family, the two who had her back for lifetimes, then Tarn wouldn't see them either. Especially with how Cybertronians view squishies.

As stated before, Tarn does have a lot of traits that the Nakadai family would approve, even Izumi. Miko would probably be embarrassed that she shares her mama's taste in men - dangerously competent, ruthlessness, an awkward sweet side, and a preference letting the other take the lead in bed.

Izumi would absolutely tease her only child over it. She's a bit of a romantic, so she would nudge Miko if she asked him about the moon.

Her father would be content as long as Miko is happy, but if she ever comes crying to them...

There's nothing in the universe that will stop Mr. (and Mrs.) Nakadai from gunning after Tarn and the rest of the D.J.D. if the unit gets in the way.

To me during an incident like this I always saw Jack as the victim transformed because of Miko's impulsiveness to go on a mission ir just through the ground bridge. But this is just as good✨️

Miko transformation, the accident, her pain, the hunger, it felt intense and monstrous in all the right ways! 🕷🕸🕷🕸🕷🕸🕷🕸🕷🕸

Of Silk and Ashes.

This au is based off this post which I have been itching to write about.

It had all happened so fast. One second she was running as fast as her legs would take her, the next she was on the ground then bright blue light and the roar of an explosion and heat. All consuming smothering heat washing over her in a wave of screaming agony. Then the light and noise stopped leaving nothing but the heat, clawing at every nerve and muscle as she felt her skin fell off in charred bloody chunks. She couldn't move, all she could do was scream until her throat was raw and she was left to cry in silence. She wasn't sure how long it went on, days? Weeks maybe? The only mark of time passing was the cloying pain in her stomach as she drifted in and out of consciousness dreaming of rescue, of the dark and silence being broken by light and the sound of bulkheads voice as he pulled her out and held her close.

Then she started to hear them. At first she couldnt understand but as time passed she began to hear it clearer. Countless soft chittering voices speaking to her not in words but impressions conveyed in near inaudible clicks. They cooed to her sentiments of comfort and safety, telling her stories to distract her from the pain and doing all they could to help her. Eventually she managed to communicate back, hungry was what she conveyed to them and they dutifully brought her things to eat. Small things mostly, insects and sprouts, but she could hardly afford to be picky so she ate it all great fully until the knaw in her stomach abided and she was able to fall asleep to their gentle words. It continued on like that for quite some time; she would wake up to new voices, they would speak to her and feed her, and she would try to communicate back something that was steadily becoming easier as her strength returned to her and she began to feel something other than pain. Feels things like the four long limbs growing from her back, like the dense tail growing from the base of her spine, the cool almost metalic materal in place of her skin, and the bodies of her spider companions crawling all over her.

When she finally had the strength to crawl out of the pit guided by her friends she was greated by the light of the moon peering through dense foliage. The first light in who knew how long. It was wonderful. As was the feeling of fresh cold air filling her lungs, the feel of grass under her feet changed as they were, the sound of the outside world, and the taste of the animals she ate after friends guided her to their dens. It was all so wonderfull after being stuck in the dark empty pit. Then they brought her to a lake and her heart sank at the sight of her reflection.

She new she had been changed, she just hadn't realized how much. Eight vibrant amber eyes stared back her, so much time blind had stopped her from noticing just how much more she could see now. Her skin was pale and nearly grey atleast what little of it remained not replaced by the shiny black carapace layered over her rail thin frame. Even the sight of the things she knew about from the legs and tail to the fangs filling her mouth were off-putting to see. She traced the snake like slit cut across her sunken cheeks from the corners of her mouth as she peered at herself in fascination. She looked like monster straight out of a horror movie or maybe a sci-fi super villain, all charred and emaciated and dangerous. She would never be able to go out in public again never mind become a Rockstar like she always dreamed. She would never be able to talk to anyone casually, never get the chance to fall in love, never get to see the world. When she died she would be alone and forgotten. After all that's what happened to monsters.
