Magical Wild Forageables of June 🌿🌸
Hello darlings 🥰
June is a month brimming with the beauty of nature and an abundance of wild forageables that can enhance our magical practices. As we venture into the great outdoors, let's explore some enchanting plants and flowers you can find during this magical month and how they can be used in witchcraft:
🌿 Stinging Nettle: Don't be fooled by its prickly exterior! Stinging nettle is a potent herb known for its protective and healing properties. Use its leaves to make an invigorating tea or incorporate them into a purifying bath to cleanse your energy and dispel negativity.
💮 Elderflower: With its delicate white blooms, elderflower is a symbol of renewal and wisdom. Harvest these fragrant flowers to create a soothing tea that promotes intuition and enhances psychic abilities. You can also infuse elderflowers in oil for magical salves or use them in spell jars for protection and blessings.
🌼 Chamomile: Known for its calming properties, chamomile is a wonderful addition to your magical toolkit. Harvest chamomile flowers to create a relaxing tea that aids in sleep and meditation. Use it in spells for peace, purification, and attracting positive energy.
🌹 Rose: The elegant and fragrant rose is a timeless symbol of love and beauty. June is the perfect time to indulge in the magic of roses. Collect rose petals to create love potions, infuse them in oils for self-care rituals, or scatter them on your altar to invite love and harmony into your space.
🍓 Strawberry: As the sweet scent of strawberries fills the air, harness their magic in your witchcraft. Strawberries symbolize love, passion, and abundance. Incorporate fresh strawberries into spells and rituals for matters of the heart or use their leaves to attract luck and prosperity.
🌱 Dandelion: Often seen as a pesky weed, dandelions are actually potent magical allies. Harvest their vibrant yellow flowers and nutritious leaves for use in spells of transformation, wishes, and divination. Dandelion root can be dried and used in protective sachets or as an ingredient in cleansing rituals. Check out my detailed dandelion and strawberry foraged tea post here.
When foraging, please always ensure you have proper identification and permission to harvest from the land. Show respect and gratitude to nature for providing these magical gifts, and be mindful of sustainable harvesting practices; never take more than you need or remove too much from one spot.
Enjoy the wonders of June's wild forageables and let their natural magic infuse your witchcraft. Embrace the connection to the earth, its cycles, and the bountiful treasures it offers us.

Behold, the poppy! It's not going as I planned really. At this time I planned to have the Moon and Mercury #cardsuits done, but alas it is not meant to be. I am finding #digitalpainting to be so much harder than expected. I have been painting with acrylics for years, and I know exactly what I need, how I need to do it to get the brush stroke I need, the exact color mix, the color depth and complexity. With digital, every minute step takes me minutes and hours🙈 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #learningartist #artwork #digitalartist #artistsoninstagram #sketch #digitaldrawing #magicalherbalism #magicalherbs #oracledeck https://www.instagram.com/p/CpUiKtAttcC/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

We all love Plant Legend’s Lyrics and Lore by Richard Folkard and I would consider this dictionary a great modern update to Folkard’s compendium. Both are largely focused on plants of the northwestern hemisphere. North America, the British Isles and Europe though many of the plants mentioned are naturalized around the world. I believe the book was published in the Uk. Elsevier is an awesome resource for academic articles, journals, papers etc lots of things from the pharmaceutical industry on plant alkaloids etc. Its an awesome online resource. - - #plantlore #herbsofthenorth #folklore #folkherbalism #folkwitchcraft #traditionalwitchcraft #herblore #magicalherbalism #plantmagick #greenwitch #herbalismbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/ClZxWiTLgbt/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Getting inspired for next month’s presentation on datura! “Datura is a plant of the nocturnal garden, along with other plants associated with the moon, sleep, and the psychic realm. It can be used to honor the primeval goddess Nyx, who is an embodiment of the night, and her children, Hypnos, Morpheus, and Thanatos, the gods of sleep, dreams, and death. Datura rules the night and is associated with nocturnal creatures, such as the moth, owl, and wolf. Datura blossoms point upward toward the night sky, like trumpets from the underworld, the nocturnal flowers opening at dusk. The blossoms are sometimes called moonflowers and resemble the night-blooming moon vine Ipomoea alba, a tropical morning glory. In the evening hours, datura sends out from its flowers a sweet and intoxicating aroma, which is said to be capable of inducing trance. Datura's relative Brugmansia is called angel's trumpet because its flowers point downward from the heavens. As part of the nocturnal realm, thorn apple is dreaming plant, used to gain the power of divination and soul flight. The flowers can be placed around the bed of a person who is trying No dream prophetically. As a psychic herb of lunar nature, it awakens tie cown and third eye, enhancing psychic ability and clarity and giv. in insight into the meaning of dreams. It can also be used to ward off nightmares and for protection during sleep.” The Poison Path Herbal. Overstand that the physical properties of the energy we consume is only a single aspect of the totality it offers. ⠀ Foods also offer spiritual, mental, and emotional ‘nutrition’ as well. ⠀ ⠀ Think about the herb sage; you can make tea to help balance a wet cough, you can use it as a meal seasoning, or you can use it to smudge negative energies of a particular location. ⠀ ⠀ The point is that plants, and Life in general, is multidimensional in both literal and figurative terms. ⠀ ⠀ This is the essence of wholistic healing.⠀ ⠀ Physical nutrition is vital but it can quickly fall down the dark tunnel of reductionist science (ie. modern medicine/food science).⠀ ⠀ We need less mental knowledge of the X’s and O’s of the food we eat and a greater wholistic connection to it. ⠀ ⠀ From this state of interconnectedness, the world of conflicting and contradicting nutritional information will make much more sense and fall into proper place. ⠀ ⠀ #herbs #herbalism #herbology #herbalist #wildplants #wildedibles #wildedibleplants #forage #forageforfood #growfood #growyourownfood #growyourown #growyourownmedicine #magicalherbs #chemicalfree #heirloom #freefood #growlocal #urbandgardens #communitygardens #farmersmarkets #controlyourfood #foodmagic #urbanhealth #fooddeserts #junkfood #chronicdisease #healthyself #beyourowndoctor #growyourmedicine https://www.instagram.com/p/BuRo-a2gO80/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=113t56wrm119l

When you spend months failing to identify this weird little miniature-apple-looking fruit you keep finding in the dirt, far away from any tree that ought to be making apple-looking fruit.... ...of course there's a gall wasp involved 🤣 So I am working on the Lucky Maggot Ball charms, which are the product of gall fly larvae infesting goldenrod stems. But these are so darn cute, I want to make something out of them too even though I haven't heard of any particular folklore around oak apple galls before. I guess I just need to hang out with one for a while and see what it has to say. #oakgalls #bayouhoodoo #bayouhoodooherbal #witchgarden #seraphinstation #bigluckyhoodoo #rootworkersofinstagram #magicalherbs #foraging #plantidentification #oops https://www.instagram.com/p/Cii-XqXPvom/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
