Rambling about Fairies - Manga Chapter 193

Knightwalker's best in her arsenal being Ravelt is very ironic considering its role in Rave Master. It's quite literally about bonds, the whole representation of the nakamaship and love cultured through the entire story of Rave Master is represented by Ravelt, the sword that was forged just for Haru. And in Fairy Tail, it cameos as the best spear for the woman that just shot to kill Lily, one of her closest comrades, and never even acknowledged it afterward.

And you know, maybe that's the point. Her greatest blade is her pride in the authority and influence of Edolas' Royal Kingdom, so of course, the greatest spear formed by the finest bladesmith is her ultimate.

But it wasn't made for her, it represents nothing to her but wealth and influence. It is Ravelt, but without the love and hardship the Rave Master's cast went through to finally achieve it.

It's empty of any story and true importance, but she doesn't know that. It's just something she flaunts pridefully, with a smug grin.

In contrast, Armadura Fairy is an armour she's never taken out before. She wears it with a face locked stern, wearing it with her pride and humility as Titania, as a protector of the fairies.

It's gallant, girly, and almost looks sweet. It doesn't have the magical embellishments of Black Wing, Heavens Wheel, or anything-- it's also one of the less showy of her armours, cape aside. This is an armour that simply represents her heart as a member of Fairy Tail, and everything Fairy Tail means to her.

She doesn't even affirm that it's her strongest. And I just realized that it probably isn't. It probably wasn't meant to represent her strongest at all.

Right now, Scarlet isn't contesting strength. If she wanted greater attack, she'd use Clear Heart Armour and take out Benizakura for an iai match to the death like in TOH. But right now, she isn't fighting over which Erza is the strongest-- right now, she's fighting over ideologies.

They're disagreeing, not over who is more powerful, or whose magic is better-- they're disagreeing over the fact that they've raised their weapons against what each other held dear. It's a battle of pride.

That's why Scarlet is not saying that Fairy Armour is her strongest at all. Scarlet is fighting for all purposes to express her love for Fairy Tail, and Knightwalker simply misinterpreted it. because to Knightwalker, her loyalty to the Royalty is very much equivalent to power and prestige. While Scarlet is in Fairy Tail, not because it's the most powerful or well-known guild in the nation, but simply because it's the place that accepted her into their family, and it's her home.

That's what Armadura Fairy represents. Not power, but resolve. And Knightwalker's resolve was an empty shell in contrast to it.

When I was a kid, we moved into a house that had a huge lilac tree out front. It was mostly rotten, and it needed to be taken down before it fell. It took a while, but eventually, it was gone.

Mostly. A couple years later, little lilac babies popped out of the ground in its place. My mom was determined to get rid of them, because she'd planted a beautiful flower garden there, and the lilac trees would overshadow and kill the whole garden. I insisted on saving at least a few saplings. She said fine, but I had to dig them out and put them in pots myself.

So, I did. I spent days digging little lilac bushes out of the ground and putting them into pots. Some couldn't be saved, but some could. When all was said and done, I had five brand-new lilac saplings. Seven or eight years old, and it was my absolute pride and joy.

Three died due to sun scorching, severe drought that no amount of watering could save, and perhaps just being moved from their place in the ground. But two survived, and I was awfully proud of them! I'd go out and talk to them every single day. I watered them by hand and made sure they were fertilized properly. I learned all about their favored environments, and I was determined to make sure they lived.

One of my mom's friends saw what I was doing with the lilacs. She asked if she could have one to put in her backyard, and I agreed on the condition that she take very, very good care of it.

It's now fucking enormous. I'm talking ten feet tall and bursting with beautiful purple flowers every spring. My mom still gets updates each year as they start to bloom, which she forwards to me. And all I can think is, "That's my friend! Thriving some twenty years on, there it is."

The other tree nearly died, too. It lived in a pot for far, far too long. I wanted to plant it somewhere in my parents' yard, but my mom was reluctant. Eventually, we agreed to put it in the far back garden. It grew okay for many years, despite the shade, but in all these years, it's never bloomed.

Last year, the massive tree casting massive shadows over the lilac and the garden cracked in half and fell. It tumbled into the garden, crushing part of the nearby shed and destroying a few plants beneath it.

It missed my lilac by inches.

The clean-up is long done. The rest of the tree has been cut down, and my lilac has full sunlight for the first time in fifteen years. It won't bloom this year, I know. But it's got new shoots up. It's taller than ever. I spent half an hour a few weeks ago praising it for surviving all this time, dreaming about its future and telling it how I believe it'll become the tall beauty it's always been meant to be.

I think next year, I'll see flowers.

It's weird watching Cassandra Clare be so prolific and so prominent in the YA lit sphere because I remember back when she was new to writing original fiction and everyone talked about what a monster she was to absolutely everyone who'd worked with her or had any kind of online relationship with her.

I always wonder with her, if she's matured. Also, how does she feel about having written inc*st fic? Is that still a thing she's into?

One of tbe brilliant things about mlp:fim is that the main cast aren't wayward children or highschool students they're just a bunch of young adults. Like. Twilight is a postgrad forced by her supervisor to go find friends. Apple Jack has responsibility of gaurdianship of her little sister. They're all employed. They pay rent and taxes. Fluttershy has to deal with her deadbeat underachiever older brother who can't seem to move out by himself when she visits her parents. She also has anxiety she hasnt grown out of since high school. Rainbow Dash spends most days getting high and goofing off on her minimum wage job. Pinkie Pie has a culinary apprenticeship and lives with an older couple after she left her small mining town when nobody there was as into psychadelics as her. Rarity balances running her slowly growing etsy fashion bussiness with going on tinder dates with the worst men you've ever seen. They all vote. They have to pick up their own medical perscriptions. These are 26 year old girlies going through first quarter life crisises. So, yea, that fanart of Fluttershy smoking forever weed is highly accurate.

playing MTG with people who have been in the game for like 20 years is so insufferable sometimes

every turn they're like "I play Cock Goblin of Guzzleberg" and everyone else at the table nods and goes "ah yes of course, the Cock Goblin, classic" and doesn't explain.

so I'm like okay. what does that do. and they go "well it has a Guzzler effect" and I'm like okay great what the FUCK is a Guzzler Effect™

and then after like 10 minutes of trying to get them to explain, eventually I figure out that there was a card called Guzzler Greebling that was only printed ONCE in 1998, and its text was "when this creature ETBs, everyone at the table has to suck your dick" and this card got so popular in Standard at the time that now all effects that involve dick-sucking are called "Guzzlers" by the players

Rambling about Fairies - Manga Chapter 174

First of all, I love that Gajeel is the one making this call. I want more Gajeel acting like the oldest of the dragons slayers, as he is.

So, this scene implies a few things that we don't ever go into depth about in the story-- about mixing magics. Unison raids, basically, but we don't explore unison raids much either! Maybe there are consequences to recklessly fusing them, like going out of control, cancelling each other out, self-destructing, etc. And for Dragon Slayers, the most direct way of making a unison raid would be mixing breaths. I've gone down the list of how all their breaths differ, and that's why all of these are so facinating to mix. Gajeel and Natsu mixing makes molten steel shards. I wish we could've seen mixtures like Wendy and Laxus making a thunderstorm, or Wendy and Cobra making a poisonous epidemic. Would Natsu and Rogue mix to make invisible fires, like ethanol fire?

It would be a fun way to explore the limitations of this. For example, we never see the implications of opposing elements mixing. What if Sting and Rogue's unison raid would be revolutionary in magic history?

Conversations between best friends has often led to some reckless/stupid/not thought out at all decisions. Like one conversation the amity park trio had where Danny said that he couldn't see Tucker as a doctor (the medical kind) to which Tucker responded with "Alright, bet." and enrolled in medical school. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Bruce Wayne and Tucker Foley somehow by coincidence *cough* clockwork* became friends. And stayed friends even after Bruce dropped out and Tucker went on to finish med school. It was a strange friendship that was mainly just Bruce calling Tucker from the weirdest locations and asking things "Out of curiosity, if an immortal nutjob wanted you to marry his daughter and become his heir what would you do? uh-huh, uh-huh, really? ok, thanks." and meeting up for coffee every now and then. It was during one of these coffee meet-ups that Bruce confessed that he wanted to adopt a recently orphaned child by the name of Richard. There was currently push back from people who didn't think 'Brucie Wayne' would be a good parent and from others who didn't want a random kid having a chance to inherit the Wayne fortune, the media was also having a field day. Everyone kept asking him to "reconsider" and doing everything they can to stall/stop the adoption process. Tucker, being the good friend he was, said "Don't worry, I got this" Stood up from the cafe table, walked to the nearest library and politely asked to use one of their computers, spent a good ten minutes on it, printed something out on the library's printer, walked back to the cafe where he left Bruce waiting. And finally, he handed over the paper with the words "Take this." and continued drinking his now cold coffee. Bruce was, understandably, confused. "What is-" "Trust me, it'll work." Tucker assured him. That is how Bruce Wayne adopted one Richard 'Dick' Grayson.

And after that, Bruce went to Tucker whenever he came across a kid that he wanted to adopt, which was often. It's one reason why Tucker will do everything in his power to make sure Danny and Bruce never meet for fear that the Gothamite might try to add the Halfa to the growing army of children. Aka

Wow what a wonderful firs hour of my day. Woke up in heat and just now nearly broke down from the consequences of it. there are some days where thinking is a sin but like this entire week so far has made me wish my brain was a fucking rock. so i couldn't think, or be alive.
