Magic Happens and Fantasmic Mickey! 🥰

I’ve been drawing so much Mickey lately, it makes me so happy I’ve got him finally in a style that feels close to how I grew up with him, and it’s really fitting my own too which makes me so happy! I love his Magic Happens outfit even though I’ve never seen the parade, but Fantasmic means the world to me, as does Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 which I’ve spoken about many times, and drawing both these arts was so much fun! 😄

I loved playing around with the colours and the layers in order to make some really pretty effects, and I’m genuinely so happy with the turnout, I love how I drew Mickey’s outfit on the first one, and the background on the second one reminds me of the background behind the orchestra in Fantasia 2000, and also the Disney 100 Exhibition poster with all the characters. ☺️

Hello, sorry for being inactive for a while school was really getting busy for me and now that’s almost over I should be able to post a little bit more. 

Anyways, here’s is a drawing I did. I drew it a while back

Happy return to Disneyland parade Magic Happens ! In 2020 this parade ran for just a few weeks before the pandemic shut everything down, and now in 2023 we see the return of this beautiful parade. I fell in love with the parade dancers that made up the spaces between floats, and I knew I needed to draw them. This one celebrates the Coco dancers, both the alebrije and folklorico groups. Thank you performers for giving your all in this parade!

And so I tried.

The meaning lost within furrowed brows of misunderstanding.

So I showed them.

Outside.

Showed them the sky, pink with clouds.

Showed them that fiery orange orb that is the Sun.

And the sky was theirs alone.

Candy floss haze and golden glow.

"Did you ever see such beauty?"

Silence. Loudly mocking.

Cocktail party smiles carefully fixed.

Tainted vision cannot perceive the magic of a summer's night.

What profit to be made from splendour?

And that great star slipped earthwards;

A bow to end the Solstice show.

Lights dimmed in preparation for the final player;

Soft shadows kneel to mark their entrance,

As darkness sweeps across the stage;

Resplendent in their summer cloak of darkest blues.

Cannot yet twinkle little star;

Await your cue.

And yet I cannot make them see any more than 'night' and 'day'

And it makes me cry.
