And we come to the end of Round Two! In Round One, Revolutions earned itself 147 votes. Now, it’s up against A Distortion; lots of questions surrounding identity to think about in this match.

I just finished listening to the magnus archives for the first time. i don't draw often, but this damn podcast has me in a chokehold so I'm trying out doing a poster for episode 165
I'll probably work on it off and on for a while, it won't be finished anytime soon cause I'm both slow at drawing and have not done any art in a long time and need to learn new skills :3
I like it so far though?
(Edited with a slightly different version cause i didn't like the placement of the title)

Welcome back to “listening to TMA S5 for the first time”, Im ur host and god.
MAG 165: Revolutions
HE SAID THE THING. “Ceaseless Watcher, turn your gaze upon this wretched thing” HE SAID THE THING!!! Since the start of these posts, I’ve seen that quote SO MUCH and I finally got to hear it. Guys. Do you know how annoying it was that I was in PUBLIC?? I couldn’t say shit!!
I’m very happy not Sasha is dead. Bye girl! I hate you. You took such a great girl from the world.
MAG 166: The Worms
I love Martin. He is SO DOWN for all this smiting. I wish Helen was allowed to tag along like guys come on :(( she’s just a silly girl.
Ah Annabelle. What’s your game here? I wish I knew. I wish I still had my 78 pages of notes but alas, I have school. She says she wants to help them. I don’t know with what but I can’t help but think about how The Web was one of the few entities who didn’t perform a ritual.
MAG 167: Curiosity
Gertrude Robinson. God. You are such a badass but maybe you should get like a nice nap. Emma Harvey was a dick. But understandable to a degree. Also!! There was a mention of the Sandman who featured in MAG 98! Also! Michael!
“Yes Martin you are my reason” oh god. These guys are so in love it makes me sick
MAG 168: Roots
Out of all the avatars, I think Oliver Banks is the coolest. He just…does his thing. Like I’d love to hang out with him. Oliver. My man. Come on
“I’m not going to kill a man just because you’re jealous”
“Why not?!”
I think Martin’s character development was the best. Like his support for Jons smiting is amazing. I’m also really interested in Oliver’s “report”. He was very thorough. I guess the entities fear dying as much as humans. Makes sense.
Okay. That’s everything. Sorry for the slow ass posts, these episodes are heavy and school is a pain 😭 I see the next episode is related to The Desolation. Fun fact, The Desolation terrifies me. So. We’ll see how that goes. I hope we’ll see Jude! I think she’s interesting and y’know she’s not dead yet. Until next time!

Round One Part Eight - Match 72
And we come to the end of Round One! Revolutions is one of my personal favorite episodes, especially of season 5. At the same time, Gerry's here! How could we ever choose?

First listen to: MAG 165 - Revolutions
I have a vague memory of reading Alice in Wonderland as a kid. The one thing I remember with clarity is how confused it made me feel. It was like I was lost in the woods, totally helpless as the path ahead kept twisting and turning. It was like trying to dance without knowing the proper steps, spinning around until I felt sick. That’s what the opening statement felt like. Martin should definitely listen to this recording at some point, I think he’d enjoy it.
Circuses are terrifying as they are enchanting. The calliope mixed with muffled screams in the background, the merry go round that never stops, an identity that is torn apart and merged with others. It’s overwhelming because it never ends. It’s like running a cut under water or a baby that won’t stop screaming. Unlike what we’ve seen so far with the Slaughter and the Corruption, the Stranger’s domain feels like actual hell. I can’t wait to see what the other domains look like.
Martin sounded way too excited when Jon smote the Not!Sasha. Jon really stepped up his game since the last time when he smote Peter Lukas. Now he has a whole preamble that he gets to recite. It’s nice that we finally got some revenge for Sasha though. It’s the least they could do for her.

Can we talk about MAG 165 (Revolutions)???
Because I think we need to talk about MAG 165.
The whole statement is a poem?? A frankly excellent poem??? How long did it take Johnny to write that??? And read that??? It's amazing?? Hello?!? The spooky carnival music that kind of gives Ride the Cyclone vibes??? Honestly, the entire sound design of this episode is my favourite my word. And the return of Not!Sasha?? and the DEATH of Not!Sasha???
This is where "Ceaseless Watcher, turn your gaze upon this wretched thing" is from???? AND NO ONE TOLD ME?! And that line was somehow even MORE epic than I imagined?!
Pardon me, I may be a bit obsessed.
