I love vinyle #248 Villa-Lobos - Bachianas Brasileiras 2,5,6 & 9 - Mady Mesplé - Paul Capolongo

Petit hommage à la soprano Mady Mesplé qui vient de disparaître... Très beau disque que j'ai d'abord acheté en cassette dans un magasin de ma ville qui n'existe plus depuis longtemps. Et trouvé récemment en vinyle au Boulinier de St Michel, qui bientôt n’existera plus. Les montages s'entendent un peu sur un ou deux morceaux, mais ce n'est pas très grave. L'interprétation est très belle, notamment celle de la fameuse Aria de la Bachiana n°5, qui reste sans doute ma version préférée. Et les autres pièces choisies sont elles aussi superbes. Un disque parfait pour bien commencer avec Villa-Lobos.

Extrait du livret de Michel-R. Hofmann : « La Bachiana Brasileira No. 5 Pour Soprano Et Huit Violoncelles est une Aria (Cantilena) sur un texte de Ruth-Valladares Corrêa composée de 1938 et la Dansa (un Martelo) sur un texte de Mandel Bandeira qui date de 1945. Le récitatif conte un soir où un nuage transparent, « sur l'espace chargé de tendresse », laisse surgir la lune, « ainsi qu'une fille qui apprête se beauté ». Tandis que se taisent les oiseaux tristes et que s'éveille « la cruelle nostalgie qui ensemble rit et pleure. »

Le Martello est un chant alterné, défi public de deux improvisateurs, dansé et mimé, d'une grande liberté rythmique. Il s'agite autour de l'oiseau insaisissable, le Sabia, qui traîne toute la nostalgie du désert ou de la brousse lointaine : « Chante encore ! » soupire-t-il. »

Et je partage ce soupir : « Chante encore ! »

From this film(Пиковая дама(1960)), Oleg Strizhenov received the Aleksandr Pushkin's Big Gold Medal and the prize of the Russian Musical Fund of Irina Arkhipova "for the brilliant realization of the figure of Hermann in the film Queen of Spades".
